During a Wednesday appearance on Entertainment Tonight, The View alum Sherri Shepherd breaks her silence about her custody battle with ex-husband Lamar Sally over their baby born via surrogate last summer.
Last week, a judge ruled that Shepherd is officially the 8-month-old baby’s mother – and therefore financially responsible for him.
“Life is difficult,” Shepherd, 48, told ET. “So you just hang tough and you keep going. People who know me, my character, my integrity – I feel it speaks for itself.”
The Woodlawn star and Sally, 44, split last May after nearly three years of marriage. Sally claimed the couple agreed to pursue surrogacy, but Shepherd changed her mind after the breakup.
But Shepherd said she’s doing “extremely well” given the circumstances.
“I feel like everything always works out in the end,” she shared. “I’m a big believer that everything always works out in the end. Everybody has their challenges. So right now, it’s my challenge.”
