The Royal Baby has been named!

Kate Middleton and Prince William have named their newborn daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. In a touching tribute, the Princess of Cambridge – who arrived on Saturday (May 2) at 8:34 a.m. – has been named in honor of her grandfather, her grandmother and her great-great-grandmother.

Announcing the name in a Monday statement, Kensington Palace Tweeted:

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.”

Reportedly, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wanted to inform the Queen of their chosen name before it was publicly released.

The Duke and Duchess introduced their newborn just hours after her arrival. The royal couple are also parents to 21-month-old son Prince George.
