Bethenny Frankel’s divorce from Jason Hoppy was finalized this week after eight years. She was only with him for two years and the details that came out about him made it seem like he was an emotionally abusive partner. That doesn’t mean I find Bethenny sympathetic as a person because she is generally awful, but I had sympathy for her situation. Right after her divorce was finalized, Bethenny got engaged to her on-again boyfriend, Paul Bernon. Bethenny hasn’t been on Real Housewives of New York since 2019, but she’s clearly still thinking about it. She timed the announcement of her engagement to coincide with the season 13 trailer of the show. Petty, but that’s Bethenny. I wanted to talk about the fact that this ring is valued at over a million – if it’s real. Bethenny was seen wearing it on a vacation before she announced her engagement. Here’s the story from Page Six.

On Tuesday, Page Six confirmed Frankel’s engagement to boyfriend Paul Bernon, days after the former star of “The Real Housewives of New York,” 50, hit the beach wearing a massive diamond ring that’s estimated to cost seven figures.

“It looks like she wore a three-stone ring that features a huge 8- to 10-carat emerald-shaped center stone set with two smaller emerald accent diamonds we estimate to be around 3 carats total,” Apeksha Kothari, chief operating officer at RareCarat.com, told Page Six Style on Tuesday.

“If it’s a real, natural diamond, I’d estimate its retail value at up to $1 million for a natural emerald-shaped diamond ring of that size,” Kothari added. “And if not … probably under $5,000 as a good fake.”

Some of you schooled me that Bethenny regularly carries fake Hermes purses that look convincing to most people, so I would bet that this ring isn’t real either. She has the money to buy it and that’s not shade really. My engagement ring from 2004 is moissanite because I wanted larger stones and think moissanite is just as pretty as a diamond. It’s only 2.5 carats and it wasn’t exactly cheap, but it was a hell of a lot cheaper than a diamond ring. I think Bethenny’s ring looks kind of gaudy but I know a lot of women like this style, especially if it’s a real diamond, which I truly doubt. It’s unclear if it’s even her engagement ring, but she’s wearing it on her left hand. I wouldn’t be surprised if she got it herself and then orchestrated a proposal.
