Iggy Azalea won Best Rap song last night at the Billboard Awards for “Fancy,” her collaboration with Charli XCX. You can see their joint speech here. Iggy brought her boyfriend, Nick Young, as her date. She wore a baby blue, two-piece custom dress, whose ID evades even the best sources. I don’t think the dress is terrible, although Iggy allegedly tried and failed to mention the designer on the red carpet. The whole look, including the dip-dyed pink hair is very mall girl, but it’s not inappropriate for a music show. A lot of people are talking about how Iggy looked different last night (compared to a month ago), and maybe she overdid the Botox. She may have also gone in for fillers, and possibly a chin implant. Iggy admitted to getting some subtle bolt-ons last year. I hope she doesn’t get carried away with plastic surgery.
Zendaya always looks lovely while taking a few well-placed risks. She wore a Fausto Puglisi ensemble with a leopard and zebra print mashup. Z’s bare midriff breaks up the prints a bit, so they’re not completely overwhelming. The little pop of turquoise color on the shoes and earrings is also unexpected but adds to the effect. The only complaint I have is how the sunburst adornments are so similar to those on Z’s Met Gala Fausto Puglisi dress.
Rita Ora abandoned her beloved Tom Ford to wear Fausto Puglisi as well. Rita always turns it up to 11 on the red carpet, and this look is no exception. Multiple cutouts, a waist high slit, and a mini-fishtail, it’s all so much. The matchy shoes are pretty bad.
Kendall Jenner wore a Balmain for H&M jacket and pants. The outfit was part of the label’s collaboration announcement. This look attempts to be rock ‘n’ roll, but the jacket is too oversized. The embellishments are all pearl! Kinda fussy, but the pants and boots look cool.
Kylie Jenner also wore Balmain. I’m glad to see her cover up a bit in this leather dress, although the waist on many of these Balmain dresses looks so uncomfortable.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are always so cute. Chrissy wore a Balmain plunge jumpsuit that managed to be both 1970s and fabulous. The top needed a little more tailoring, but that’s how the outfit looks on the runway too.
Meghan Trainor wore a slinky Badgley Mischka dress that resembled seaweed. I’m glad to see her wear something different, not so cutesy. She won the top digital song award for “All About That Bass.”
