She was stripped of her beauty queen crown back in June, and now Carrie Prejean is fighting back against the people who took it away from her.

The former Miss California sued two Miss USA California officials on Monday, claiming that she lost her crown solely for her religious beliefs and is seeking unspecified damages.

Carrie is going after Miss USA California officials, Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, who claim they stripped her of the crown for failing to make required appearances, and for making unsanctioned public appearances.

The beauty queen’s attorney, Charles S. LiMandri says, “We will make the case that her title was taken from her solely because of her support of traditional marriage.”

TMZ is reporting that Miss Universe owner Donald Trump has removed controversial conservative Carrie Prejean from her post as Miss California due to breach of contract.

Just one month after Prejean was allowed to keep her crown in a May 12 press conference – despite the discovery of several semi-nude photos -the 22-year-old beauty queen has been fired for refusing to appear at some 30 events as Miss California USA, and that, say pageant officials, constitutes breach of contract.

K2 Productions, the independent producers of the Miss California USA pageant, has confirmed Prejean’s firing to FOX News.

“This was a business decision, based solely on contract violations,” Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, said in the documents. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”

Carrie Prejean came under fire for her answer to a question about gay marriage in the Trump-owned Miss USA pageant in April, she was crowned the runner-up.

UPDATE: The Donald has fired Miss California Carrie Prejean. The “biblically-correct” blonde has been stripped of her title – effective immediately, Miss California Organization officials confirmed in a press statement released just moments ago.

“The Miss California USA Organization, in conjunction with the Miss Universe Organization and with the blessing of its owner, Mr. Donald J. Trump, announced today the termination of Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA 2009, citing continued breach of contract issues..”

“I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so,” Trump said of Wednesday’s dismissal. “Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen.”

“Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests..”

Miss Malibu Tami Farrall – who was first runner-up in the Miss California pageant – is now Miss California 2009.
