Remember these grotesquely iconic photos? These pics are from January 6th, 2021. Donald Trump addressing his cult members, who had been bused into DC. Trump addressed them, inciting them to stage an insurrection just minutes after he left the stage. All of those dumbf–k traitors marched, staggered, ambled and ran to the Capitol, where things quickly turned violent and dangerous. Reportedly, Trump wanted to join his cult at the Capitol, and when his Secret Service detail tried to get him out of the scene of his crime, he assaulted at least one of them. Trump eventually returned to the White House, and he spent the rest of the day watching the insurrection unfold on television. When various officials and staffers begged him to calm the situation or tell his people to stand down, he refused.

Currently, federal prosecutor Jack Smith is trying to take Trump to trial for all of the crimes he committed on and around January 6th. Smith is being blocked at every turn, mostly by the judge assigned to the case, Judge Tanya S. Chutkan. The Supreme Court has also made it clear that they’re on Team Insurrection, probably because Clarence Thomas’s wife Ginny is the C-U-Next-Tuesday who helped organize the Stop the Steal rally on the day. SCOTUS tried to give Trump blanket immunity – under “presidential immunity” – for the crimes he committed. Chutkan has also put up several roadblocks and delays as the case is being slow-walked to trial. Now Judge Chutkan has unsealed Jack Smith’s legal brief for the prosecution’s theory/narrative of Trump’s “private” crimes.

In a sprawling legal brief partly unsealed on Wednesday, the special counsel, Jack Smith, laid out his case for why former President Donald J. Trump is not immune from prosecution on federal charges of plotting to overturn the 2020 election. The redacted brief, made public by Judge Tanya S. Chutkan of the Federal District Court in Washington, adds new details to the already extensive public record of how Mr. Trump lost the race but attempted nonetheless to cling to power.

Part of the brief focuses, for example, on a social media post that Mr. Trump sent on the afternoon of the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, telling supporters that Vice President Mike Pence had let them all down. Mr. Smith laid out extensive arguments for why that post on Twitter should be considered an unofficial act of a desperate losing candidate, rather than the official act of a president that would be considered immune from prosecution under a landmark Supreme Court ruling this summer.

After Mr. Trump’s Twitter post focused the enraged mob’s attention on harming Mr. Pence and the Secret Service took the vice president to a secure location, an aide rushed into the dining room off the Oval Office where Mr. Trump was watching television. The aide alerted him to the developing situation, in the hope that Mr. Trump would then take action to ensure Mr. Pence’s safety. Instead, Mr. Trump looked at the aide and said only, “So what?” according to grand jury testimony newly disclosed in the brief.

Much earlier, the brief says, one of Mr. Trump’s lawyers gave him an “honest assessment” that his false claims that the election had been marred by widespread fraud would not hold up in court. But Mr. Trump seemed not to care.

“The details don’t matter,” the brief quotes Mr. Trump as saying.

Around the same time, the brief says, Mr. Pence also sought to convince Mr. Trump he had lost the election. During a private lunch in mid-November 2020, for example, Mr. Pence suggested to Mr. Trump that he accept defeat and run again in the next presidential race, but Mr. Trump did not want to hear about it. “I don’t know,” the brief quotes him as saying, “2024 is so far-off.”

[From The NY Times]

“So what?” Yeah. I mean, Trump sent his cult to hang his vice president and they were attempting to do just that. One thing I sort of wish Jack Smith’s brief or prosecution would get into is how and why Pence didn’t want to get in the car with the Secret Service. Didn’t Pence say something like “I’m not getting in the f–king car?” A story for another day. Apparently, Trump campaign officials in Michigan desperately tried to convince Trumpers to stage a riot in Detroit (“make them riot” was the order). Jack Smith’s brief also emphasizes the lunacy of the SCOTUS presidential immunity decision, stating plainly that Trump’s actions were never that of a president, but as a private individual who was “scheming” to overturn the election and pathetically cling to power.

Jennifer Aniston has always been a great dog momma and rescue advocate. Her first pup was Norman, whom she famously rescued after he had a bit part on Friends (the boy couldn’t act, but he could love!). Norman has sadly left us, as did Jen’s dog Dolly. But she still has in her pack Lord Chesterfield and Clyde. In 2021 Jen turned Clyde’s illustrated alter-ego Clydeo into a children’s book, and this month she just released a fourth in the series: Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life. She also just launched The Clydeo Fund, which aims to help out shelters that take care of our pups on their way to finding forever homes. Jen spoke with People Mag to tout both projects, and she talked about how she keeps posting dogs on her Instagram so they can be rescued, even if it’s tough to constantly be faced with their hopeful, longing mugs.

Jennifer Aniston had made it her mission to help rescue as many animals as possible.

Along with her new children’s book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life, and The Clydeo Fund, which supports animal shelters, the actress, producer, and entrepreneur, 55, also uses her Instagram account to share stories of rescue dogs in need.

“It’s so hard, but it helps; they get seen and rescued,” she tells PEOPLE. “It’s almost impossible to keep up with it. But I’m constantly updated that so-and-so got rescued. So all I keep thinking is if one gets out, that’s all I care about.”

The Morning Show star and executive producer wrote her new picture book, illustrated by Bruno Jacob and inspired by one of her rescue dogs, Clyde, to help motivate kids to explore their interests. “They’re so focused on these phones and just disappear into this void of scrolling,” she says. “They don’t really spend time being stimulated by the world and figuring out what they want to do.”

First introduced as an animated dog on Aniston’s Instagram account in 2021, Clydeo now has a four-book children’s series. “When they came to me with the idea, it was like, ‘Obviously, I’ll make it about something that I fully love and adore, which is my rescue animals,’” she says.

The actress also wanted to “create a fund where we can donate to these animals all over the world and inspire people to just throw in a dollar. It all adds up,” she says. “We can get awareness out and help the shelters that are in desperate need.”

With every dollar donated, The Clydeo Fund will help organizations rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for animals. “We can help these animals, and we can get awareness out, and help the shelters that are in desperate need of upkeep because they’re falling apart,” explains the former Friends star. “They can’t keep up. And all you see is that we’re euthanizing innocent, beautiful, perfectly, perfectly fine two-year-old dogs, or a puppy, or a litter. I can’t. It’s too much. It’s too many.”

[From People]

Oh, I feel you Jen! Seeing all those faces, you just want to scoop up and rescue all the floofs! Like Molly Shannon in Year of the Dog. While I usually side eye when yet another celebrity comes out with a children’s book, I have no problem making an exception here. I love that Jen is helping out the shelters — they deserve all the funding and support we can give them! I just went through all this with My Guy, and the shelter that picked him up took such great care of him. He was three-years-old when he came to them and sick, un-chipped, and not neutered. After making sure he recovered from his illness, they got him microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on all his vaccines. Maybe that’s pretty standard now, but it wasn’t when I rescued My Girl over a decade ago, so I greatly appreciated it! Here’s to Jen in her very best Doris Day Dog Advocate Era!

Last year, Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi got engaged. They were and are very young, but they seem to adore each other and people were really rooting for them. Back in May of this year, they announced that they had gotten secretly married. Now both Millie and Jake have posted photos of their May wedding in Italy! They did a destination wedding at Villa Cetinale in Italy, and the photos are gorgeous. The bride wore a custom Galia Lahav gown to the ceremony, which looks like a classier, more elegant version of a Dolce & Gabbana gown. MBB also wore vintage Valentino, Vivienne Westwood and de la Renta to the reception and parties.

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi are sharing a glimpse into their dreamy wedding day! After secretly marrying in May, the couple posted photos on Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from their celebration at Villa Cetinale in Italy with family and friends.

“Forever and always, your wife,” the actress captioned the carousel, which features photos from their nuptials and Brown’s two stunning bridal gowns.

For the ceremony, Brown wore a custom Galia Lahav gown with intricate lace details. She paired the dress with a sheer veil from Monvieve with the same lace detail, and kept her jewelry and makeup minimal. Later in the evening, she changed into a satin off-the-shoulder gown.

In a press release, Galia Lahav’s head designer Sharon Sever shares that creating Brown’s custom dress was a “true honor.”

“Millie Bobby brought depth & complexity to her iconic role in Stranger Things, and now she brings grace & beauty to her special day in another iconic way,” Sever says. “I can’t wait to see her shine as she steps into a new chapter of her life and wish her and Jake only happiness, love & health for their future together.”

[From People]

The photos are really beautiful, and Jake really does look like his father, my god. I think Millie is probably too young to understand that Jake reminds everyone of Jon. Anyway, I love that they were able to keep their wedding photos private for so long and that they’re showing them now, on their own terms. She was a beautiful bride!

Prince Harry had already arrived in Lesotho by mid-day on Tuesday, which makes me wonder if Harry really did leave England just hours after the WellChild Awards on Monday night. It’s a long flight from Heathrow to Lesotho – he could have taken the red eye and been in southern Africa by mid-morning. We know he was in Lesotho in time for lunch because Princess Senate Seeiso of Lesotho posted a photo with Harry, with the message of: “Had the pleasure of hosting the Duke of Sussex today for lunch.” Did Harry even spend 24 hours in the UK? I don’t think he did. I bring this up because the lunatics over there are still humping their padded cells and chanting “Harry wants to come back to us, he wants to come back to royal work!” All of this has been deliberately obfuscated: the royalists truly believe that “someone doing high-profile charity work” is somehow “someone doing pseudo-royal work.” They do not believe service is universal. They believe only royals can “serve” in any way. This comes up in the Telegraph’s latest, “Where’s Meghan? Why Harry is going it alone: Royal observers say there is a new strategy to remind people of the Prince ‘they loved’.” Some lowlights:

WellChild was the seventh event for solo Harry: Unusually, though, the event was the seventh solo engagement the Duke of Sussex had undertaken in seven days. The Duchess and their children did not travel to London, or to New York where the Prince gave five high profile speeches last week and appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. Nor was the Duchess accompanying Harry when he arrived in Lesotho on Tuesday for what became his eighth solo appearance in as many days.

Where’s Meghan?? Particularly given the couple’s previous joint trips to Nigeria and Colombia in recent months, the Duke’s solo appearances have raised, perhaps inevitably, the question: Where’s Meghan? For a couple who have described themselves as “salt and pepper” because they “always move together”, and bought their Montecito house because two “connected” palm trees were reminiscent of their relationship, their professional separation is new…The question of the Duchess’s whereabouts is easy to answer in technical terms: she is at home, with her two young children, while her husband travels. She is also working on plans for American Riviera Orchard, including a range of jams which have been distributed to influential friends.

Harry’s solo events mean he wants to come back to royal work, obviously: [Harry’s solo] schedule has prompted speculation among royal observers that he is hankering for his royal life. With the exception of a televised haunted house skit with Jimmy Kimmel, the US comedian, and a private hour spent in a tattoo parlour, the programme could have been plucked from any week of his former role as a working royal.

Mark Borkwski is always in need a paycheck: “There has been a separation [of their work] for a while,” notes PR strategist Mark Borkowski, who has followed coverage of the Sussexes closely. “It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to think there’s something going on. She has been doing the jam thing, the Martha Stewart play. He seems to be going back to basics.” The “star power” they were expected to have together when they first left Britain, he says, “didn’t work” as hoped. “They had to change the narrative. They need a venture that deflects from the failures. The charity aspect impresses upon everybody that he [Harry] does have value beyond the controversial stuff. It has the effect of separating them from the bad press and the failed content ideas.”

A return to royal duties: Royal commentators have observed something of a return to royal-style duties after a long period of controversy. Ingrid Seward, editor in chief of Majesty magazine and author of royal biographies including the recent My Mother & I, says: “Prince Harry has finally realised – or been advised – that dissing his own family did him no favours. The golden ticket is for him to remind us why we loved him: For his Diana-like ability with children, the disabled and the disadvantaged. He might have finally appreciated he is far more powerful on his own without the distraction of Meghan as Diana was without Charles.”

Harry is Meghan’s spare: Phil Dampier, a royal correspondent of nearly 40 years and author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words, describes the Prince’s recent reputation as “starting to lose ground”, “looking like a bolt-on accessory” to the Duchess “rather than the Prince that he is”. “It’s fairly obvious that on these trips to Nigeria and Colombia, Meghan was the dominant partner and Harry looked and possibly felt a bit like a spare part,” he said. “This looks like a definite attempt by him to strike out on his own and carve out a niche for himself that isn’t Invictus. I think we’re going to see him do more of this, him travelling and doing things on his own, restoring some kind of prestige.”

[From The Telegraph]

While it’s possible some of this stuff is coming from Buckingham Palace and/or the fantasist royalists, the conversation about “royal-style duties” and “plucked from any week of his former role as a working royal” sounds a lot like the near-constant briefings from Kensington Palace. For years now, Prince William has been utterly bewildered by the fact that Harry would still want to do good and be involved in charity work and humanitarian work. To William, those are “royal duties” to be avoided like the plague. That kind of work is William’s heavy burden and he avoids it at all cost. William is the one who can’t comprehend Harry’s moves, and believes that Harry doing WellChild or Travalyst or HALO Trust events *must* mean that Harry wants to come back and “be royal,” because why else would Harry do all of that? Add in the fact that Meghan is just being in yet another undercover era, and basically, William is in some kind of hairy, eggy frenzy of confusion right now.

I wasn’t looking forward to last night’s VP debate. I like Gov. Tim Walz a lot – he’s smart, he comes across as a tremendously decent man, and he has a happy-warrior vibe. But JD Vance is a slick creep who lies constantly and he’s “good” at debating, if no one cares about all of the lies and sudden flip-flops. Well, Walz did much better than I expected, but so did Vance. Vance dialed down his creepiness as much as he could – it came spilling out a few times – while Walz at times looked befuddled by all of the lies Vance was telling.

There was very little fact-checking, although there was one moment where Vance was fact-checked in real time about his blatant racist lies about Haitian immigrants in Ohio (his state) and moderator Margaret Brennan stated, “And just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status, temporary protected status.” Vance threw a tantrum about that, spitting: “Margaret, the rules were that you were not going to fact check and since you’re fact-checking me, I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on.” Seconds later, the moderators cut both Vance and Walz’s mics.

My favorite part of the debate was Gov. Walz’s whole answer on abortion rights and how women should be trusted to make their own reproductive decisions and people should mind their own business. Vance once again lied and flip-flopped about where he stands on abortion, suddenly backing away from his repeated statements about how there should be a federal abortion ban.

Another great moment for Walz happened towards the end of the debate, during the conversation about January 6th and whether both candidates would accept the results of the election. Vance tried to hem and haw and talk around the fact that Trump is still spreading lies about the 2020 election, and that Trump still cannot admit that he lost. Walz looked at Vance and said: “He is still saying he didn’t lose the election. Did he lose the 2020 election?” Vance replied greasily: “Tim, I’m focused on the future.” Walz: “That is a damning non-answer.” Walz also brought up why Mike Pence isn’t Trump’s running mate, and then said: “America, I think you’ve got a really clear choice… of who’s going to honor that democracy and who’s going to honor Donald Trump.”

The one bad moment for Walz was when he was caught out on a lie/tall-tale about being in China in 1989 during Tiananmen Square. Walz should have just said, “I misspoke, I was in China that summer, but not at the same time.” He had a hard time diffusing that or admitting that.

I missed this yesterday – after Prince William did the (bizarre) helicopter event with David Beckham, William went solo to an Earthshot event. He and his gross beard visited an eco-tire start-up called ENSO. ENSO was on Earthshot’s shortlist last year. Per usual, William thinks his job is going somewhere and doing a little skit, so he made a big show of “changing a tire.” He needed help, which I’m not going to judge – I don’t know how to change a tire either, even if the car is already jacked. But it’s funny that ENSO people dutifully told the media that William changed the tire like a pro. It’s very Trumpian – I’m sure the ENSO people had tears in their eyes as they said that no one has ever changed a tire better than Huevo.

Meanwhile, people are obviously still focused on Prince Harry. That includes Harry’s brother. The press is constantly trying to remind both King Charles and William that they cannot let this Harry issue fester indefinitely, but Charles and William are not listening. The latest is a random claim that Zara Tindall might get involved, with an admission that Harry is “missed.”

Zara Tindall is “trying to broker peace” between Prince William and Prince Harry amid their bitter royal feud, insiders have claimed. A source claimed that Zara, 43, has tried to act as a peacemaker between the duo so that relations between Harry and other senior members of the Royal Family can be improved.

They suggested: “Zara figures there couldn’t be a better time for her to try and broker peace. Zara feels she’s the only one who can get through to both of them.”

The insider added that despite Harry’s revelations in his memoir Spare and various interviews since departing the Royal Family, William’s younger brother is “missed” by the Firm.

They continued to tell Woman’s Day: “No one likes to admit it, but for all his mistakes, everyone misses Harry.”

[From GB News]

“Everyone misses Harry” – true or false? Does William have moments when he genuinely misses his brother and wishes Harry was around to scapegoat and do William’s work? William has been reminded for years that no one thinks he’s capable of being king on his own, without his “wingman.” William is the one who needs to listen to sense and reason. Too bad he can’t. He’s too busy trying and failing to grow a beard to copy Harry.

Here are some photos of Prince William today at RAF Northolt. William was there to highlight the two new London Air Ambulance Charity helicopters, helicopters which were bought via a charity fundraising drive. Bizarrely, David Beckham joined William at this event. David is, as always, desperate for a knighthood and willing to cozy up to the Windsors whenever possible. This sort of looks bad for William though – it looks like he’s acknowledging that he has no star power, and that he has to invite celebrity “friends” to join him at work events. It also appears that this Beckham appearance was designed as a “clapback” to Harry’s visit to London yesterday. Speaking of, the Daily Beast’s Tom Sykes got a hot tip that William did something else to try to steal Harry’s thunder on Monday. The fact that William’s office has to point this out is hilarious to me – Kensington Palace posted their “September Rewind” tweet-thread about an hour before Harry appeared at the WellChild Awards. You guys…

Hours before Prince Harry took to the stage Monday night as the star of the WellChild Awards, his most prestigious remaining U.K. charity commitment, his brother released his “monthly rewind.” The moments highlighted by Kensington Palace included Princess Kate’s announcement that she has recovered from cancer, plenty of coverage of the newly bearded Prince William’s Earthshot prize, Kate’s impromptu and private visit to a ballet performance, and an art exhibition in support of and advocating on behalf of the homeless. The social media messages were posted at 2:39 p.m., local time. A little over an hour later, at 3:57, WellChild began its online stream, with Harry arriving shortly thereafter.

Prince William’s office declined to comment, though a friend of the prince’s told The Daily Beast: “It’s the end of the month and at the end of the month they do release the rewind. I’m sure the time of day they did it had nothing to do with Harry. But I think what is notable is that it shows how much they do on a monthly basis, and if that has been inadvertently highlighted it’s no bad thing.”

Another royal insider said: “It’s the age old weaponization of scheduling. The different principals were always supposed to try—but often failed—not to schedule high-profile events for the same day to avoid knocking each other off the front pages. It’s less of an issue now that there are fewer of them. But old habits clearly die hard, and there is no reason now that William should make allowances for Harry’s schedule.”

“I certainly wouldn’t buy anyone saying it just happened to be posted so late in the day by accident. A ‘monthly rewind’ could equally well have gone out the next day, or earlier in the day. It looks to me like someone is stirring the pot and letting Harry know he is not going to have it all his own way if he wants to pitch up in London and do what always used to be a royal job on a freelance basis.”

[From The Daily Beast]

“The different principals were always supposed to try—but often failed—not to schedule high-profile events for the same day to avoid knocking each other off the front pages.” That’s just the thing, isn’t it? William’s sad monthly rewind didn’t knock Harry off the front pages. It was a minor blip online as the royal rota desperately awaited Harry’s appearance at the WellChild event. All of the royal coverage on Monday – and in Tuesday’s morning papers – was about Harry, WellChild and how Harry didn’t bother to see his brother or father. William *wanted* to steal Harry’s thunder and he didn’t, so now William sent his people to point out what he did. Such a dolt. He can’t even do a simple RAF event without needing a Security-Blanket Beckham. Pathetic. Also: “letting Harry know he is not going to have it all his own way if he wants to pitch up in London and do what always used to be a royal job on a freelance basis.” William thinks ALL charity work is a “royal job.”

Here are some photos of Prince Harry at the WellChild Awards event in London on Monday, September 30. He looked especially handsome – tan, well-rested, unbothered, booked and busy. I really enjoy his electric blue tie, and I think the pattern is made up of tiny little fish? It feels like Archie or Lili might have picked it out.

As always, Harry made a speech at the show and he spent lots of time with the kids, parents, grandparents and caregivers. He always does little break-away sessions so that each family gets some special time. In one of the sessions, a 10-year-old girl gave Harry some special gifts for Meghan, Archie and Lili – they each got a crystal heart, and Harry was directed to squeeze the heart and it will make you feel happier. So lovely and sweet.

Obviously, the British media covered very little of Harry’s speech and his time with the kids. Instead, every headline was about how Harry “arrived without Meghan” and he attended yet another event “without Meghan.” They don’t even believe the marriage is in trouble, they’re just playing it up to people who WANT to believe that Harry is somehow on the verge of getting a divorce and coming back to Salt Island. Speaking of, that’s the other “story” the royalists are trying to make happen: why isn’t Harry dropping everything to fly to Scotland and beg his father for forgiveness? Instead, Harry’s team – I guess?? – confirmed to People Mag that there would be no family meeting:

Prince Harry’s latest trip to the U.K. to support a close cause won’t include a visit with his father King Charles or brother Prince William.

On Sept. 30, the Duke of Sussex, 40, will step out to attend the 2024 WellChild Awards ceremony in London, bringing him back to England from his California home for the second time in recent weeks. WellChild works to support seriously ill children and their families, and the awards celebrate the inspirational qualities of the young people and their carers. Prince Harry has been patron of the national charity for 16 years, and the awards are a staple on his annual calendar.

PEOPLE understands that the Duke of Sussex has no plans to see the King, 75, or the Prince of Wales, 42, while in London for WellChild. They also didn’t see one another during Prince Harry’s visit to the U.K. in May for an anniversary service commemorating 10 years of his Invictus Games. However, Harry extended invitations to his father and brother ahead of the May event.

Harry’s relationship with his father, who is likely still in Scotland alongside Queen Camilla, remains strained amid the Duke of Sussex’s ongoing battle for security. Sources previously told PEOPLE that calls and letters to his father go unanswered. Harry’s attempts to connect with his brother, William — through texts, calls, and messages — are also similarly ignored.

[From People]

The Sussex Squad claimed that Harry left England right after the WellChild event. Did he really fly out of Heathrow on Monday night? If so… lmao. That’s a record. I hope he did, because if he stayed any longer, the rota would have worked themselves into a lather about how Charles needs to change his plans to avoid London for even longer. Oh well… the charismatic prince came, conquered and left. So now all of those media outlets will go back to focusing on Buttons, Huevo, the Middleton failson, the Parker Bowles failson and Sophie, right??
