On Wednesday, King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales made statements on Israel and the Hamas terrorist attacks which have left thousands of Israelis and Palestinians dead. The amount of statement-making and noise from celebrities, edgelord commentators and deeply problematic people has been a lot this week. I would not blame anyone if they simply avoided making public statements entirely. But many people feel it’s necessary to say something. At least the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept it very brief. They posted this message on their Archewell site, titled “With Heavy Hearts.”

At The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, we stand against all acts of terrorism and brutality. We are supporting our partners and organizations on the frontlines in Israel to provide the urgent aid needed, and to help all innocent victims of this unconscionable level of human suffering.

[From Archewell]

Yeah, that’s fine – please don’t get into the politics, just focus on the humanitarian disaster. I’m interested in the timing of the Sussexes’ statement, which came chronologically hours after Charles, William and Kate’s statements. While the Sussexes obviously do not coordinate with the Windsors, they followed the kind of protocol which the palace would have approved of. This wasn’t what happened when Russia invaded Ukraine last year. The Sussexes made a statement on the day of the invasion… while William and Kate were tweeting about their upcoming Caribbean tour. The Sussexes were called “breathtakingly arrogant” for their statement last year.

As we discussed yesterday, Jada Pinkett Smith is doing a big rollout for her memoir, Worthy. Jada covers this week’s issue of People Mag, and she gave an exclusive interview to the Today Show, plus People has published some excerpts from the memoir. One of the subjects Jada finally gets to discuss in depth and on the record is this decades-long mess with Chris Rock. Rock has targeted Jada in his “comedy” since 1997, and at one point, years before the slap, Will Smith had words with Chris, asking him or telling him to back off. Following the 2022 Oscar slap, Rock did a big Netflix stand-up show where he repeatedly targeted Jada, acting as if SHE was the one who slapped him. He denigrated her, called her a “bitch” dozens of times and claimed that “she started it.” At the time, sources close to Jada went to People and noted that: “Jada has had no part in all of this other than being heckled. Chris is obsessed with her and that’s been going on for almost 30 years.” This whole time, Rock has been giving off “incel with a grudge” vibes, and guess what? Jada reveals that Rock tried to ask her out while she was married to Will!

She hasn’t spoken to Chris Rock since the 2022 Oscars: “[Do I have] any desire to talk to Chris? Here’s my desire: I just hope that all the misunderstanding around this can be cleared up and that there can be peace… I talk about this in the book, I think that there might be some misunderstanding between Chris and I as far as the 2016 Oscars. I think that he might’ve taken offense, which I meant no harm in offending. That wasn’t my intention. But I do think that there’s a big misunderstanding there.”

When she and Will boycotted the 2016 Oscars during the #OscarsSoWhite movement: Chris, who was hosting that year, made jokes about Jada in his monologue. And, in his Netflix comedy special earlier this year, Chris claimed that Jada told him he should quit the hosting gig out of solidarity. Jada admits to “not really recognizing the level of pressure [Chris] might’ve been under” at the time. “I probably should have called him and gone, ‘Hey, are you okay? And just know that although I’m speaking out about the Oscars, I do wish you the best and I just want you to know that,’ me taking the time to have called him and said that, just to touch base. But his feelings might’ve been hurt,” she says. But, Jada adds, “All we can ever do is just look at our part and see where could I have done something that would’ve seemed as if… Whatever misunderstanding might’ve been created, what could I have done to avoid that misunderstanding? The one thing that I think about is that call.”

Chris apologized after that, in 2016: Jada says Chris, 58, called her afterward in 2016 and she thought they’d moved on. “He apologized and I apologized to him as well,” she says. “So I actually thought that we were good, that the hatchet was buried between us. And we hadn’t talked since then, until 2022 came.”

Chris tried to talk to her after the slap: “Chris came down to the end of the stage and tried to apologize to me. He said, ‘I didn’t mean you any harm.’ I said, ‘I can’t talk about this now, Chris. This is some old s—.’ I thought this was [about] the Oscar 2016 and … their stuff that they had before I even came into the picture in the late ‘80s. I’ve got to leave that to Will and Chris to talk about, but they got their stuff for sure.”

On Chris’s joke about her baldness/alopecia: “I mean, that’s what comedians do,” says Jada. “I would just have to say that I am not really here to make any judgment on how people decide to express themselves and express their art. I’ll say that several times I’ve had my feelings hurt, for sure. I’ve had my feelings hurt a lot by Chris. But at the end of the day, too, being in the spotlight, it comes with the territory.”

Chris asked her out once: “I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that.”

[From People]

I would assume that there’s much more to the story of Chris’s obsession with Jada, but she probably doesn’t want to feed into his ego. Like, Chris, Jada and Will have all known each other since the late ‘80s or early ‘90s. Jada appeared on Chris’s defunct talk show back in the day. Reportedly, Rock wanted to be with Jada in the ‘90s. I’m just saying, I think there were probably more instances where Rock tried to shoot his shot and Jada turned him down or just didn’t realize what he was doing. All of his nastiness and horrible energy makes him seem like he feels jilted, or like he’s overcompensating for Jada brushing him off for years. Anyway, I’m not saying anyone deserves to be slapped, but there’s just so much backstory to that one moment.

On Friday, Hamas terrorists began their coordinated assault on Israelis, raiding the kibbutzim near the Gaza border and launching rockets into Israel, some of which made it to Tel Aviv. Israel’s “Iron Dome” defense system was seemingly overwhelmed by the attack. The Israeli death toll has gone past 1000 – this is the deadliest attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust, and many of the dead are women and children. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu has retaliated to the terrorist attack by waging war against Palestinians, shutting off water, electricity and supplies to Gaza and engaging in widespread bombing. Thousands of Palestinians have been killed or injured in the Israeli bombardment since Hamas launched their terrorist attack.

This is a huge political and humanitarian disaster, made much worse by misinformation, disinformation and every single person, business and group feeling the need to chime in with their “take.” I simply wish more celebrities and non-political public figures would send thoughts and prayers to Palestinians and Israelis and leave the nuanced conversations to historians, diplomats, humanitarians and foreign policy experts. Or better yet for celebrities, say nothing – there’s absolutely no reason why the world needs to know what Kylie Jenner thinks about Israel and Palestine. There is no way to “win” at this moment from a celebrity-PR perspective.

Adding to the ongoing catastrophe is a series of grotesque political realities: Netanyahu was warned about the Hamas attack in advance and did nothing; political support for Netanyahu seems quite fragile all of a sudden; Israel’s defense capability looks weak and unprepared, despite billions in foreign aid for decades; Donald Trump was likely the source of information about Israel’s military weaknesses, and Trump likely told Russia, Russia told Iran and Iran told Hamas.

Enter Prince William and Kate. I’m actually surprised that they didn’t release a half-assed statement over the weekend, but I suspect they were banned from making any statement before King Charles. Charles waited until Wednesday to address the situation, then William and Kate went after him. Keep in mind, William visited Israel in 2018 and declared that he would make “peace in the Middle East” his “lifelong project” and he would “forever honour my commitments” to the people he met. He literally never mentioned Israel or Palestine again in the next five years, but better late than never.

King Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton are voicing support for Israel after the surprise attacks by Hamas militants killed over 1,000 civilians last weekend. On Wednesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales released a statement on social media. The message marked the couple’s first comment on the Oct. 7 attack. The violence by Hamas, which the U.S. classifies as a terrorist organization, prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare the same day that his country is “at war.”

“A spokesperson for The Prince and Princess of Wales said, ‘The Prince and Princess of Wales are profoundly distressed by the devastating events that have unfolded in the past days. The horrors inflicted by Hamas’s terrorist attack upon Israel are appalling; they utterly condemn them.”

“As Israel exercises its right of self defence, all Israelis and Palestinians will continue to be stalked by grief, fear and anger in the time to come. Their Royal Highnesses hold all the victims, their families and their friends in their hearts and minds. Those The Prince of Wales met in 2018 overwhelmingly shared a common hope — that of a better future. In the midst of such terrible suffering, The Prince and Princess continue to share that hope without reservation.”

Though King Charles’ words of support for Israel amid the rapidly developing situation were not released to the royal family’s Royal.UK website or Royal Family social accounts, a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace shared a statement on Wednesday.

“This is a situation His Majesty is extremely concerned about, and he has asked to be kept actively updated. His thoughts and prayers are with all of those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones, but also those actively involved as we speak,” the spokesperson said on the King’s behalf. “His Majesty is appalled by and condemns the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.”

PEOPLE has also learned that Charles, 74, spoke to President Herzog of Israel and King Abdullah of Jordan on the phone on Wednesday afternoon. Charles welcomed Herzog to Highgrove House during the president’s visit to England in 2021, and King Abdullah attended the May coronation with his wife, Queen Rania.

[From People]

Kensington Palace’s statement is mostly boilerplate, treading water stuff. Which, honestly, is fine with me. William is not a decision maker here nor is he a global statesman. He has no role to play beyond the boilerplate. Charles actually has relationships with many of these leaders, although I would assume that Prime Minister Sunak had to give permission to the king to call certain people and what could be said during the calls. Notice that Buckingham Palace didn’t say that Charles spoke to Bibi.

Ryan Reynolds first came onto my radar because of his relationship with Alanis Morrissette. I thought he was hot (I did!) but was probably one of those men who know they’re attractive and therefore act like immature jerks. He just gave me those vibes. Fast forward 20 years and the more I learn about this now grown-up, mature Ryan Reynolds, the more I like him beyond his looks. He seems like he’s got his sh-t together and is in a good place as a family man and supportive friend. Earlier this week, Ryan accepted an award from Bring Change to Mind, Glenn Close’s organization dedicated to raising awareness for mental illness. At the awards, he spoke about how different he thinks parenting is nowadays, thanks to more “self-awareness” that his parents’ generation didn’t have.

“I think it’s more about talking to them about everything,” the actor, 46, tells PEOPLE at the Bring Change to Mind Revels & Revelations 11 event in New York City on Monday. “It’s genuine when I say I take a huge interest in their days and how things are going.”

Reynolds also opened up to PEOPLE about how he and his wife Blake Lively stress the importance of “self-awareness” to their four kids as well as sharing details of their daily routines.

“For me, the best time of my day is walking them to school and walking them back,” he says to PEOPLE at the event. “I think as parents, we are so much better equipped to handle the rigors of childhood through our kids now than when I was a kid. It’s just totally different now. People are much more self-aware. And that’s the thing we sort of hang our hat on the most is self-awareness with our kids. Not be happy, not be anything, just be self-aware and welcome everything in.”

The Deadpool star was honored with the Robin Williams’ Legacy of Laughter Award at the event. Actress Glenn Close and her family established the organization Bring Change to Mind in 2009 to fight the stigma of mental illness.

[From People]

I’m an Elder Millennial. I know that generational talk is a touchy subject, but I think Ryan gives a fair assessment. There’s more awareness and less stigma placed on certain things nowadays, like a child’s mental health, “non-traditional” gender roles, and neurodiversity. While we still have a long way to go in getting society as a whole to support our more vulnerable children, particularly in the LGBTQ+ community, so many parents are making progress and acquiring better parenting tools because they are aware that those tools are out there. I think each generation improves upon the last one, and that’s how it should be. I’m sure my children’s generation will still have plenty to go to therapy for and therefore continue to do better by their own children.

As far as Ryan’s focus on doing the school run, I do find that with my kids, there are three times during the day that they’re most open and likely to share: on the way to school, on the way back home from after-school, and right before I leave their rooms at bedtime. The one thing that holds true through all generations is that kids will legit say, do, and need everything just to avoid going to sleep.

Almost a year ago exactly, Billy Ray Cyrus sort of announced his engagement to Firerose, an Australian musician. No one knew how they met or when any of this started, but they Facetuned the crap out of their engagement photos and everyone wished them well. Well, they got married on the 10th (Tuesday) and they posted some wedding photos on their social media. By the way, no one knows Firerose’s real age. At first, people suggested that she’s in her early 20s (lol), but currently, I think we’re going with “she’s in her mid-30s.” He’s 62 and I would swear she’s well past 40.

I actually kind of like her wedding gown, which was made by Laura Rudovic. Billy Ray’s tuxedo was Versace. Physically, they sort of suit each other, and I can even see a vague resemblance to Tish Cyrus in Firerose. I kind of dig the autumnal-wedding energy too – her bouquet of red, black and orange flowers is really cool and unusual, as is Billy Ray’s orange rose boutonniere. People Mag didn’t have any details about whether any of Billy’s kids came to his wedding. When Tish married Dominic Purcell in August, several of the kids showed up for her, including Miley. Hm.

King Charles’s people told Prince Harry that he was being evicted from Frogmore Cottage back in January of this year, on the same day that Spare was published. We didn’t hear about the eviction for months, when the news was conveniently leaked before the coronation. Back then, the news was packaged together with a story about King Charles also evicting Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge and telling Andrew that he should move into Frogmore Cottage. Andrew refused all of it and Andrew won – he will be staying at Royal Lodge for the foreseeable future. Which left so many questions about Frogmore and whether it’s been standing there vacant for months, or whether some other royal has been quietly using it. Well, now the Express claims that Andrew was given the keys to Frogmore months ago, and he basically passed it along to his daughters?

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are at risk of being “turfed out” of Frogmore Cottage as aides consider renting it out to the public for a large sum. The two daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson both use the home as a base when visiting Windsor, but neither are looking to move in there permanently.

According to a source, Andrew has been told that if he or his daughters fail to take up full-time residency, the home will be at risk of going on the rental market. If this does happen, the Crown Estate are likely to earn around £360,000 per year.

The four-bedroom home was previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, before they were issued an eviction notice at the start of the year.

The source told OK!: “The estate doesn’t want to leave the property vacant and are keen to find a tenant. Royal residences within the security cordon have been leased to people outside of the family before. Close family friends will be given the option to lease the property if a full-time tenant can’t be found.”

Sources close to the York family say that Prince Andrew is “rattled” over this decision because both of his daughters currently use the home. The source continued: “The Frogmore keys were handed to Andrew earlier this year so that he could move out of Royal Lodge. He hasn’t moved in, and he won’t. However, he’s allowed his daughters to make use of the property when they visit the Windsor estate.”

Although, according to the source, both Beatrice and Eugenie adore the home, but neither have “considered the expensive lease”, as well as other expenses that come with the property. The source added: “Eugenie uses the cottage the most when she visits the UK from her home in Portugal. Beatrice also uses Frogmore when she visits her parents or undertakes royal duties. But neither of them has considered an expensive lease or the other expenses that come with it.”

[From The Daily Express]

While the “Prince William secretly lives in Frogmore” conspiracy was a good one, I have to say, this explanation makes more sense. Eugenie and Jack already lived in Frogmore for a time, having worked out a sublet situation with the Sussexes. Now that Jack and Eugenie live in Portugal most of the time, it makes sense that they would return to somewhere safe and secure whenever they’re in the UK. Hell, maybe Beatrice and Edo also use Frogmore sometimes too.

So, if this story is to be believed – and again, I have no idea, but it feels possible – that means Charles evicted his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren from the home they paid for and leased, and immediately gave the keys to Andrew. Now a credibly accused rapist and human trafficker has a second home in Windsor, all because the king wanted to punish his son for marrying a Black woman and leaving the family cult.

42% off a broom and dustpan set you’ll wonder how you did without

From CB: This broom and dustpan set is one of those things that I use every day and take for granted. I leave it in the corner of my kitchen, it stands up on its own and it makes it so easy to sweep. It has little combs in the dustpan to remove the debris from the brush plus it’s extendable for hard to reach areas. Right now you can get the set for just $20! I’ll probably buy another one. This listing has 4.5 stars, over 35,700 ratings and a B on Fakespot. Reviewers say it’s the perfect broom. “[With] this dust pan and broom set I pick up and carry around and “comb” the dog hair right out the broom right into the adjustable dust pan.” “I will never get a regular broom and dust pan again. This is genius and so simple, but effective” “The dustpan is a game changer for sure! It actually KEEPS the hair in and removes it from the broom.”

42% off hair powder that hides roots and makes your hairline look full

From CB: I bought this hair powder on a recommendation from Hecate months ago. It’s excellent at making my hairline fuller and at hiding my grays when I’m overdue to dye it. Boldify comes in 14 different colors and two different sizes, both of which are over $10 off. Snatch this up at under $15 while you can! This listing has over 17,600 ratings, 4.4 stars and a B on Fakespot. Reviewers love it and say it gives them confidence. “While I’m not entirely bald, I’ve been dealing with receding hairline, especially as I’ve entered my 40s. This product has been a game-changer – with just a couple of applications in the sparser regions like my receding hairline, it effectively disguises my hair loss. The result is incredibly natural.” “This product rocks. Last year, I decided to give up the tedious task of coloring my hair and become a silver sister. I don’t regret it, but I’ve been noticing that with the much lighter hair color (mine was dyed a medium to dark brown and is now light gray and even white in areas), my scalp showed more. The sun in my very sunny part of the world is quite strong, making my scalp look pink. This powder, which is very compact and can easily fit into a small purse, fills in the areas where my scalp shows, making it appear that I have more hair. It’s terrific.”

15% off a set of bestselling serums for clearer, smoother skin

From CB: If you’re new to serums and want to experience the benefits I highly recommend this very affordable and effective set by Tree of Life. You can get 4 serums for under $30 or 3 for $26. It’s a well rounded set with niacinamide (my favorite), vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and retinol. This listing has over 69,000 ratings and 4.2 stars on ReviewMeta. People say that their skin is firmer, clearer and more radiant after using these. “Wow. I’m almost out of the first three bottles I bought so let me just say, even if you only do your morning routine (because you keep falling asleep before your night routine..) you will still see a major difference! I swear it took less than two weeks for my skin to clear up. I look like I have glass skin!” “I have bought these serums from Tree Of Life many times because I love the ingredients, they absorb quickly and make my skin look lovely. I am 56 years old and try to take good care of my skin and these serums are part of doing that. I’ve been told I look great for my age.”

$120 off a sleek, lightweight and bladeless fan

From Rosie: We bought an older model of this fan about 10 years ago and we still use it all of the time. We have the cooling-only version, but there is also a model with both heat and cooling options that’s on sale for $45 off. Because it’s bladeless, it was nice to not worry about my kids (or our then-kitten) getting hurt when they were younger and the remote is magnetic so it’s harder to lose! The cooling version is currently on sale for $120 off. This fan has a 4.3 star rating, more than 1,200 reviews, and an A on Fakespot. Reviewers love how quiet yet powerful it is. “Yes, it heats and cools, with no blades, and a beautiful, sleek appearance. It is much safer and easier to clean without blades that can cut and collect dirt, yet still produces excellent air flow.” “This is well worth the expense. It’s very lightweight, easy to move around. I was surprised by how much air flow it generates.” “I’ve tried 3 other heaters in this area and this is the only one that did the job without excessive electrical charges.”

30% off an effective under-eye concealer for dark circles & fine lines

From Rosie: Known for its exceptional coverage, IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Under-Eye waterproof concealer is on sale for $20 when it’s usually around $30. It blends in nicely to improve the appearance of dark circles, wrinkles, redness, and more. There are 24 different shades to match your skin tone. It has a 4.5 star rating, more than 7,200 reviews, and a B on Fakespot. Users love how they only need to use a little bit at a time to get great coverage. “I have major under eye circles (thank you heredity). I have tried so many products over the years that I can’t even begin to count. This product provides great coverage.” “It takes such a tiny amount to cover under eye dark circles and tiny blemishes or red spots. I use it lightly under my IT base makeup that has spf 50 to protect my skin from the sun.” “Works on blemishes and scars! Evens out your skin tone!”

$30 off carry-on luggage with wheels that doubles as a backpack

From Rosie: This convenient carry-on bag can either be wheeled or used as a backpack. It comes in four different colors/patterns and is $30 off for Prime Day. It has a 4.3 star rating, more than 760 reviews, and an A on Fakespot. Travelers who’ve bought it rave about how sturdy and roomy it is. “Tons of room inside and a sturdy bottom and wheels. The oversized wheels are so awesome! Also, it looks high quality and seems to be truly waterproof.” “It’s easy to handle, durable, and is a great carry on for any airline. I am able to fit so much in it.” “These days a lot of airlines want you to check your carry on that has wheels at the gate, but this can be looked at as a backpack as well. So, you do not have to check it at the gate. It fits under your seat and in the overhead bins. I have used it on Delta, American, and Southwest so far.”

Up to 35% off a towel and blanket warmer for an at-home spa experience

From Rosie: This towel warmer is great for towels, blankets, bathrobes, and even pajamas. It heats up in just six minutes and stays on for an hour. It usually costs around $150, but depending on the color (there are 4 different ones available right now), it’s on sale for Prime Day for anywhere between $95 and $117, with an additional $10 off coupon on the white model. It has a 4.5 star rating, more than 3,600 reviews, and a B on Fakespot. People love getting that spa experience in their own bathroom. “This is amazing and well above our expectations. It warms up really fast, nice look, takes up little space.” “Great towel warmer that heats up very fast! Feels like a luxury spa in your own home.” “Honestly I can remember as a child my mom would bring my brother and I towels fresh from the dryer…this is amazing! Same effect without having to leave the room for a warm towel. Warm towels and robes!”

After the Prince and Princess of Wales’s big World Mental Health Day outing yesterday, I thought they would be “off” for the rest of the week, trying to spin their joint appearance as much bigger and more important than the Sussexes’ NYC trip. But no, here’s Kate stepping out solo in Nottingham today. She visited Nottingham Trent University, and this visit was focused on mental health too. She met with students and discussed how the university supports them and their mental health. She also visited a mental health exhibition of some sort. Basically, Katie Keen wandered around a university and posed for photos. She did say “I’d love to be a student again!” Yes, the St. Andrew’s years, where she stalked and captured William. Her “glory days.”

Kate wore a two-piece ensemble from Sezane, a £110 sweater and a matching £135 skirt, both in cream. Button Watch: the sweater has ten buttons total. Kate obviously added all of Meghan’s cream, white and beige Invictus looks to her moodboard. Is it just me or is Kate actually trying (and failing) to walk like Meghan as well? Kate’s accessories – gold and pearl earrings (which look gaudy to me) and a purse from Tusting. She’s made some updates to her makeup recently and it feels like she’s overdoing the eyeliner, perhaps in an attempt to be more like Diana. It also feels like her “hair” changes drastically from day to day. She really got several new wigs and hairpieces over the summer and by God, she needs to show them off.

From most of the photo agencies we use, it does not appear that anyone got photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex out on the street. No paparazzi photos of Harry and Meghan during this trip, just photos of them (from Getty, Reuters, etc) during their Archewell event, and photos taken by their in-house photographer at the Marcy Lab School. They did not want a repeat of their last trip to New York, where they were possibly too lenient in their approach to the paparazzi, and that night ended in an hours-long ordeal in which they had to hide out, for a time, in a police station. Well, for this trip, the Sussexes rolled around New York with a seven-vehicle convoy and NYPD officers on site. And when I tell you that the British media is steaming mad about it… lord, what did they have planned for this trip?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took a seven-car convoy to the World Mental Health Day festival in New York City, despite only travelling around a single block. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled from a garage near the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards.

They took a left turn on 33rd Street, only to end up in another garage on the same road. The distance came to a total of 200 feet, however, the couple still insisted on bringing seven SUVs.

These cars were also flanked by NYPD escorts on the Manhattan streets, so that there could be no repeat of the couple’s “near catastrophic” car chase the last time they were in New York. This happened after Harry, Meghan and her mother Doria Ragland attended the Women of Vision Awards in May this year.

After the short journey, the couple hosted a panel discussion at the World Mental Health Day Festival. This was their first-ever in-person event for their charity, the Archewell Foundation.

In May, members of the Sussexes’ security team, some of whom are former Secret Service, contacted CNN and other outlets to back up the Sussexes’ statement about the dangerous situation which unfolded over the course of several hours. The Sussexes’ private security is not made up of clowns who don’t know what they’re doing – these are seasoned professionals, most of whom have military, police or government-security backgrounds. What I’m saying is that the Sussexes and their private security coordinated with the NYPD and obviously, everyone involved felt that this level of security was necessary, given what happened in May.

Meanwhile, the British media is still straining to simultaneously find something to criticize yet also attach the Sussexes to the Waleses. They’ve settled on “where’s Meghan’s engagement ring??” Meghan hasn’t worn her engagement ring in months, and sources told People Magazine that it was being repaired. Now the Mirror claims that Prince William is very concerned about Meghan’s ring because it includes diamonds taken from one of Diana’s jewelry pieces, which William and Harry inherited. Why is William obsessively watching and fretting over his sister-in-law’s engagement ring?
