I guess I’m an idiot, because I didn’t realize that everyone would want to talk about Gwyneth Paltrow deigning to try the Food Stamp Challenge, so I dumped the story in Friday’s links. So, let’s talk about it. Apparently, Gwyneth’s dear friend Mario Batali convinced her to try it – the official name for the stunt (it’s a good stunt, but it’s a stunt, let’s call a spade a spade) is the Food Bank NYC Challenge. Batali got Goop and other people to try to live on $29 a week, which is what families living below the poverty line get in food stamps (SNAP) in the real world to spend on food. Gwyneth posted this photo on her Twitter:
This is what $29 gets you at the grocery store—what families on SNAP (i.e. food stamps) have to live on for a week. pic.twitter.com/OZMPA3nxij

Many of you were questioning all of the limes. I don’t really get it either. Maybe she was making a Key Lime pie? Or something like that. Something nice: it’s good to raise awareness of these issues of food insecurity, food inequality and how people below the line actually get to very little money to spend on food for their family. It’s good when a celebrity with a huge megaphone calls attention to those issues.
Something not nice: Gwyneth really isn’t the best advocate for this or any cause involving food, hunger or anything relating to peasants. She blows all of her imaginary SNAP money on limes and then she goes out to lunch at Tavern in Brentwood. These photos – of Gwyneth in what looks like navy and white pajamas – are of Gwyneth going out to eat on Saturday. Yeah, way to raise awareness, girl! “I’ll just post some photos of all my lovely limes and then go out to eat. I’m famished! Trying to care about fat peasants is exhausting.”

George Clooney was filming scenes for his new movie, Money Monster, in NYC this weekend. I’m including some photos of George – in character – wearing some kind of suicide vest. Jack O’Connell is in this movie too. George’s hair is the best it’s looked in years, right? Is that a wig or is that his real hair?
But what’s important here is that George’s biker-chick wife came out to watch some of the filming. Amal stopped by the set and watched George film a scene. She wore ripped up (designer?) jeans, a cute white blouse and this Balenciaga motorcycle jacket. I usually think Balenciaga jackets are overworked (they did too much with leather quilting), but this jacket is really cute. Would I wear it? Probably not. But for Amal’s hit-and-miss relationship with casual clothing, this is fine. My biggest issue is with those absolutely terrible shoes. Amal has a terrible fashion secret: awful taste in casual footwear.
We don’t have all of the photos from Amal’s set visit, so you can see more of them here. Amal brought two dogs with her. Are these the Clooney puppies?! They look like two adorable cocker spaniels, one honey-blonde and one black. Why haven’t we seen more of these magical dogs?!

SPOILERS for the past four seasons of Game of Thrones
SPOILERS for last night’s premiere episode
Game of Thrones Season 5 premiered last night. I found Season 4 to be deeply satisfying, so while I was super-excited about the premiere, there weren’t many “OMG, I have to see how this situation turned out” moments. I knew Tyrion was okay after he killed his father. I knew Dany was still trying to figure out how to be a good queen and that her dragon-babies would not like to be chained up. I knew Melisandre would take an interest in Jon Snow. But there were some surprises and shocks, I guess. Let’s do some highlights.
Brienne of Tarth. I’m worried about Brienne, you guys. Ayra didn’t want her help (completely reasonable) and Brienne is aimless, her oath to Catelyn Stark unfulfilled. But I like that we got a so-close-and-so-far moment where Sansa is literally just yards away. Damn you, GoT!
Sansa Stark. Dark Sansa, or Alayne Stone (that’s her AKA amongst the people of the Vale) is here. We don’t have the weak, victimized Sansa any longer. With Littlefinger’s help, Dark Sansa is coming into her own as a leader, manipulator and strategist. Or something. I have to admit, I like the chemistry between Sansa and Littlefinger. He enjoys her so much. And the scene where Robyn is learning swordplay? Hilarious.
Dany. I love that GoT writers and producers know we want to see the dragons in the first episode just to know that they’re still there. They’ve gotten bigger in the past “months” of the show too. And they are not happy with Dany at all. And where is Drogon? He’s checking out the world, yo. As for Dany with her lover, Daario…. I like that actor a lot. And he’s got a cute butt and great shoulders and arms. I don’t even give a crap about what he says and how he’s trying to manipulate Dany. I just want more Daario shirtless.
Tyrion. Tyrion is so depressed, you guys. I like his beard but I hope the whole season isn’t Tyrion being depressed and drunk. I want him to be witty and cynical!
Cersei/Jamie. I figured out in a few seconds that the little blonde girl in the opening was a young Cersei, but who was the brunette girl? Was it Lyanna Stark? Anyway, I loved the witch’s riddle and I loved that Charles Dance came by to do one last scene as Tywin. I loved that Cersei is still pissed at Jamie. I loved that we got a glimpse of things to come with the Sparrow movement. I can’t wait for Jonathan Pryce/High Sparrow to come to Kings Landing!!
Jon Snow/Mance Rayder. I wasn’t expecting that. I wasn’t expecting Mance to die in the FIRST EPISODE of the premiere. I thought it was going to be a whole season of Jon and Mance chatting to each other in that dank prison cell. Death by fire? I guess I would expect that from Melisandre and Stannis, but it really was an awful way to go and I loved that Jon Snow had enough and put Mance out of his misery. Ciaran Hinds gave a post-death-scene interview to Entertainment Weekly – go here to read. R.I.P. MANCE!!

Shailene Woodley attended the MTV Movie Awards to support her nomination for The Fault In Our Stars (best female performance). She won that honor and took the Trailblazer Award too. Miles Teller presented her with the Trailblazer Award and made Shailene cry. Then she made author John Green cry in her Stars speech: “It changed my life when I read it and being a part of this film dramatically influenced who I am today.” So many tears! Shailene wore an Isabel Marant outfit to the event. This suited both her funky fashion sense and the event. She starting to grow out her hair (it’s in that in-between phase) and fastened it back with a few offbeat braids. And yes, I’m wondering if that’s really beet juice in lieu of commercial lipstick.
Amber Rose won custody of the awards shows, y’all. She and Wiz Khalifa may be back together, but he probably would have come to this event if that was the case. Amber wore a color/blocked white and metallic dress that was tight. She can get away with it, and this is much less revealing than most of her other attire. Amber also made out with Amy Schumer during the “kiss cam” segment of the show. Scandal.
Hailee Steinfeld wore a Rodarte ensemble. I like that the netting provides the illusion of a longer skirt, but it’s still short and flirty. This is a very rock ‘n’ roll look for the younger set.
Victoria Justice wore a cute little Versace dress that felt just right for this event. She’s so freaking pretty.
Willow Shields wore a lovely Bibhu Mohapatra dress that would have worked on Easter morning too.
Brittany Snow wore a Brandon Sun with a pink top and red skirt. She looks quite pretty, but the colors are so valentiney.
Bella Thorne is everywhere these days in the gossip pages. Her Peter Pilotto dress is fresh and fun but the pattern hurts my eyes.

You know who couldn’t make it to Coachella this year? Vanessa Hudgens. How many times have we seen Hudgens fringed up like an asshole every April in Palm Springs? But she had to work.
You know who couldn’t miss Coachella this year?
Grammy Award-winning singer Pink shared a precious picture with 3-year-old daughter Willow.
“Willow said to me the other day whilst grabbing my belly-‘mama-why r u so squishy?’ And I said..’b/cuz I’m happy baby,’” the singer, 35, Tweeted the image before after attending the 30th Annual John Wayne Odyssey Ball in Beverly Hills, Calif. on April 11 (Saturday).
The musician also Tweeted an image from the event with husband Carey Hart, with the caption, “and my hubby says ‘it’s just more to love baby’ (and then I smack his hand off my booty cause we’re in a supermarket).”
The F*ckin’ Perfect singer was responding to body-shaming bullies.
“I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight,” she Tweeted Sunday. “You’re referring to the pictures of me from last night’s cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that the dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful.”
“So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about me. I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either,” Pink continued. “I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern.”
