Here are some photos from last night’s NYC show/event for the Chanel Paris-Salzburg Metiers d’Art Collection. Chanel got a great turnout, like always, and a nice mix of celebrities and model types. This is just a photo-heavy post because I don’t have much to say about these people, just FYI. Let’s start with Dakota Johnson. She’s now a big enough star that she’s getting all of the big-deal invites to all of the fashion events. During Paris Fashion Week, she was one of the biggest names at the Dior show. And at this Chanel show, I feel like she was one of the big invites too. Is Dakota trying to establish herself as a big Fashion Girl? Anyway, I think her Chanel suit is too fussy for someone so young.

Speaking of youth, Vanessa Paradis brought her teenage daughter Lily-Rose Depp to the event. Vanessa needs to keep an eye out for Bradley Cooper, because this whole situation is very Vladimir Nabokov.

Pharrell Williams is still trying to make the shorts/bellhop look happen.

Lily Collins got a haircut, which distracts from her eyebrow situation. She still looks about 14 years old though.

Oh, Alexa Chung! Does she have the glow of a woman getting some hot Viking action on the reg?

Dylan Penn is still trying to happen.

And finally, Julianne Moore. She wore Chanel when she won her Oscar, so now she’s going to be forever associated with the brand.

New mom Terri Seymour has announced her daughter’s name via Instagram.

“Can’t believe Coco Seymour-Mallon is 3 weeks old! Clark & I are madly in love with her and we’ve all been happily hibernating together. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and best wishes! xx,” she captioned the wooden letters spelling Coco.

The TV personality, 40, and British model Clark Mallon, 24, welcomed their daughter on Monday, March 9, in Los Angeles.

In February, the Extra correspondent opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about the best baby advice she had received.

“Make the most of it, because it goes by so quickly,” she shared. “That’s been really good advice. It goes by so fast, so enjoy every second. Try to get as much rest as I can now, because obviously I’m not going to get as much sleep when the baby comes along.”

The Los Angeles Times does this series called “The Emmy Contenders” where they sit down with possible Emmy contenders and they basically do an in-depth discussion/interview about the work. Very little personal information, very few questions about anything other than the possible Emmy contender show. Jamie Dornan sat down with the LAT to discuss his work on The Fall. Most of the interview is boring (seriously, I watched about five minutes yesterday and it was like watching paint dry), but Jamie did reveal one disturbing detail about how he prepared to play a serial killer on The Fall. His preparation? He stalked a woman in real life.

Jamie Dornan, who plays stealthy serial killer on the Netflix crime drama “The Fall,” took extra (maybe, borderline illegal) steps in getting into the mindset of the tortured persona. The 32-year-old Irish actor dropped by the Times on Monday for a live chat, and he found himself reluctantly revealing a tactic he used to better understand Paul Spector, the husband and father who moonlights as a psychopath serial killer with a fetish for tying up his victims before killing them.

“The first series, I did do a couple of things to try to get inside [his mind]. On the tube, which is our underground system” — Dornan began with his anecdote before stopping himself. “Can we get arrested for this? Hold on … this is a really bad reveal: I, like, followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that.”

Dornan said he kept his distance from his target, and once she reached her stop, lurked behind her for a couple of blocks. And the resulting feeling was one that helped understand Spector’s compulsion on some level.

“It felt kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way,” he added. “I’m sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I’ve obviously never done any of that. It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of ‘what are you following her for?’ and ‘what are you trying to find out?”

This bugs me. I think Jamie knew that this anecdote doesn’t make him sound good too. I guess we can say “well, at least he felt shame” or “at least he knew it was wrong” but it still bugs me. Imagine it’s not Jamie Dornan, imagine it’s just some guy. Some guy is staring at you on the subway and then he gets off at the same stop and he follows you for several blocks. It’s extremely creepy, regardless of his “motive.”

Justified Season 6, Episode 11 recap

It’s the third to last episode of Justified ever, and damn if this show is not slowing down. This is an all-time great episode, and one that introduces a new fear for the finale—that Raylan will live, only to go to jail. Raylan has always operated right on…      

Katja! Happy 26th Birthday! 26??? Already? I feel like I raised you, Marusa, and Petra. To celebrate you, they’ve requested photos of Aidan Turner, Richard Madden’s pretty smile from Cinderella, and a pouty Zayn Malik so you can light a candle and wave.      

I’m trying to remember the last time I saw Nikki Reed in a non-Twilight movie. Her IMDb page reveals a semi-steady workload of mostly VOD titles. She does do a lot of charity work. This photo shows Nikki at a Lindt Gold Bunny auction to benefit autism research. Nikki has a brother on the autism spectrum, so this cause is very personal to her.

Nikki also has a new interview with Yahoo! to promote her new partnership with Thrive Market, which is an online membership service that offers organic and non-GMO groceries at wholesale prices. They claim Whole Foods quality at Costco prices. For every membership sold, Thrive will donate one to a low-income family. The company website says a yearly membership costs about $60, and then you buy groceries at a discount. Nikki finds this Thrive partnership to be a personal cause too. She tells Yahoo! that she didn’t have healthy or organic foods available at all when she was growing up. This sounds like something Vivienne Westwood should read:

Nikki’s early career goals: “I wanted to be a vet and take care of animals. I didn’t ever think of myself as an actress.”

Her poor childhood: “I grew up eating off the dollar menu at every fast food restaurant. When you have a single mother that makes $15,000 a year for her two kids in a major city like Los Angeles, money runs out quickly. If my mom could have afforded it she would have bought healthy organic vegetables, but we didn’t have the money.”

Her career these days: “I do feel like it’s important for women in particular to focus on having a little more control over the roles that they choose. Creating something is oftentimes your best bet. I’m actually currently writing a feature that I’m planning on directing. I started in this business when I was only 13, and I’m still very young. At this age my primary focus and goal is chasing directors I want to work with and chasing material.”

Nikki also talks about her her endless supply of pets (including a horse with Ian) are taken care of by her mom. Nikki built her mom a guest house so she can always be present for pet care. Strange? It’s not quite a Katy Perry move. Nikki provides free room and board for her mom in exchange for pet care. I guess it works for everyone involved. Nikki’s very generous with animals and active with charity. I’m sure she’s geting a cut from this Thrive deal, but she’s also trying to bring attention to the free memberships for low-income families. Still … I gotta throw a little shade at Nikki and Ian Somerhalder’s red carpet behavior at last month’s Noble Awards. Who does this?

Dear Gossips,

So about Going Clear which aired on HBO on Sunday…

Haven’t written about it because I haven’t seen it. And I haven’t seen it because it didn’t air in Canada. Canadian distributors have decided instead to give the film a proper theatrical run starting on May 8th.

Avril Lavigne went underground at some point last year. She had been behaving normally (for her), promoting her album and shooting music videos and dealing with her disastrous marriage to Chad Kroeger, and then… she went dark. There were rumors that she was dealing with some kind of health crisis. There were rumors about drugs and alcohol too. And rumors about her marriage. It was all a big question mark, but now Avril is talking. She got the cover of this week’s People Magazine to discuss how she has been battling Lyme disease. Yikes!

I’m so afraid of Lyme disease, probably because I live in a somewhat half-suburban/half-rural area with lots of animals and fleas and ticks. My dog has brought ticks into the house before, and they always freak me out. I have a friend with Lyme disease too, and it was devastating for her – she was in a wheelchair for six months and the doctors did next to nothing. She felt like she was dying. It sounds like Avril had a very similar experience. Some highlights from the People cover story:

She started getting really sick last October: “I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed. My friends asked, ‘What’s wrong?’ I didn’t know.”

Being diagnosed with a severe case of Lyme disease: “I had no idea a bug bite could do this. I was bedridden for five months. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk and I couldn’t move. I thought I was dying. There were definitely times I couldn’t shower for a full week because I could barely stand. It felt like having all your life sucked out of you.”

Her fans: “They were asking about me since I was MIA, so I mentioned to one fan directly that I wasn’t feeling good. The get-well messages and videos they sent touched me so deeply.”

How she is now: “I’m 80 percent better. This was a wake-up call. I really just want to enjoy life from here on out.”

Avril also told People that her mom moved in with her to take care of her and that Chad would come home in between Nickelback gigs to see her. While it doesn’t sound like her marriage is very strong, it does sound like Avril got some perspective. I feel sorry for her and it seems like her health really was in crisis. Poor Avril.
