HOME Special Screening

I keep seeing the TV commercials for Home, the new Dreamworks animated film, and I’m just like… eh? I can see why it made sense on paper to have a cute little girl (voiced by Rihanna) traveling home with the help of some kind of helper robot or something (voiced by Jim Parsons), but the commercials just make the film seem like there was some trouble from script to screen. Maybe I’m a bad judge though – I’m sure Home will make a bajillion dollars.

Anyway, these are some photos from yesterday afternoon’s family-friendly premiere in Westwood. Jennifer Lopez – who voices a character AND contributes songs for the film – brought her kids, Max and Emme. J.Lo also wore this Zuhair Murad dress which… eh. I don’t really like it but I think we should give her credit for wearing something cutesy to a kids’ movie premiere. She’s not showing a lot of skin, which is probably the point. Also: her hair looks terrible!! And the heels are Christian Louboutin’s Follies Strass.

Guess who else was there to support J.Lo? That’s right, her on-again boyfriend Casper Smart. In interview after interview for MONTHS, Jennifer has been saying that she’s single. And the whole time, I’m pretty sure she’s been seeing Casper on the DL, because that’s just who she is. Hey, at least she’s ashamed (she should be). But I hate that she feels comfortable enough to bring him to her premiere.

Meanwhile, the star of the film, Rihanna, came out in this very sweet Dior gown. I like that she’s covered up too, although I think her makeup is a bit too dark. On the whole, this is very Dior-princess though. I could see Felicity Jones in this dress too. (No comment on the bangs because I’m pretty sure they’re just clip-in.)

And here’s Viola Davis with her daughter Genesis. Genesis is getting so big!! I think V and Genesis just wanted to see this movie, Viola doesn’t have a voice part.

Zoe Saldana & Twins: “Lazy Sunday”

Mar 23, 2015 Author: Admin | Filed under: Celebrities

Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana shared an updated photo of her 3-month-old twin sons, Cy and Bowie, via Instagram Sunday.

“Lazy Sunday with our tooshie boys watching #Annie —– Domingo de vagos viendo #annie con nuestros #bambinos,” she captioned the image.

The new mom recently dished on the Dolce & Gabbana controversy.

Recently, the company’s founders, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said that they oppose gay adoptions and IVF treatments.

While many other celebrities are boycotting them, Saldana doesn’t see why that would affect her feelings on the brand.

“No! Not at all, that would be the stupidest thing if it affected my fashion choice,” she told E! News at the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. “People are allowed to their own opinion, however, I wouldn’t have chosen to be so public about something that’s such a personal thing.”

“I’m certainly not going to stop wearing Dolce, and I’m certainly not going to be refuting when they are adopting synthetic children, however they wanted to say it,” Saldana continued. “I do think things are lost in translation.”

In the original Italian interview, Dolce (who is gay himself) said, “You are born to be a mother or a father. Or at least that’s how it should be. I call chemistry, synthetic children. Rented wombs, semen chosen from a catalog.”

Several celebrities has spoken out on the controversial topic since Sir Elton John asked for a boycott against the brand.

Check out the supportive tweets from fellow celebrity parents such as Victoria Beckham, Ricky Martin and Ryan Murphy.

Intellectually, I know why AMC and Matthew Weiner wanted to split up the final season of Mad Men, but I can’t help but think that they actually let it wait for too long. It feels like it’s been YEARS since we saw the first half of the final season, and I can barely remember what happened ahead the final episodes. The last half of the last season premieres on April 5th. Less than two weeks away!

I’m sure the Mad Men epitaphs and think-pieces will be flowing like water in the coming weeks, which is probably why they held a big premiere event last night in NYC. These are the photos from the premiere, although it doesn’t look like Kiernan Skipka made it out. Nor did Vincent Kartheiser. Damn, does Pete Campbell die?! I’m sure these photos will accompany at least a dozen pieces about the end of Mad Men. What did it all mean? Does Dick Whitman still exist, or was he drowned in a vat of liquor? Was it always really Peggy’s story and not Don Draper’s? Does Charles Manson kill Megan Draper? If you’re really a Mad Men-aholic, THR did a cover story on the show a few weeks ago – go here to read.

As you can see, all of the actors finished with Mad Men months ago. They’re already moving on, emotionally and physically. Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss have both lightened their hair, to varying degrees of success. I think Moss looks better with lighter hair, while I find Christina’s lighter strawberry blonde shade to be very disconcerting. January Jones had pink hair a few weeks ago, but I guess it washed out because she looks the same as usual here. January’s dress is Preen. Elisabeth wore J.Mendel. Christina wore… I don’t have the ID, but it looks like Vivienne Westwood to me.

I’m also including photos of Jon Hamm and Jon Slattery. I can’t help it, I love both of them. If it’s between Roger and Don, I have to admit… I kind of hope Don dies. I don’t want to live in a world where Roger isn’t making pithy, sarcastic observations.

The final episodes of Mad Men will begin airing on April 5 on AMC. Are you ready? They’re calling it The End Of An Era and it really does feel like it. Don Draper made Walter White possible. Mad Men brought down hemlines. Mad Men’s influence on television, its contribution to the &ldq…

Vin Diesel Names Daughter After Paul Walker

In honor of Paul Walker, new dad-of-three Vin Diesel has named his newborn daughter after the late actor.

During a Monday appearance on TODAY, the Furious 7 star, 47, shared the details.

“I named her Pauline,” the actor shared. “It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.”

The spiritual star went on to talk about the touching tribute to his longtime friend.

“He was in the room [when she was born]. There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just … knew he was there,” Diesel said. “It felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.”

Diesel and his model girlfriend, Paloma Jiménez, 31, welcomed their third child earlier this month.

The actor announced the birth by posting the first photo of his newborn via Facebook.

Baby Pauline joins big brother Vincent Sinclair, 4½, and sister Hania Riley, 6½.

Vin Diesel had a pre-taped interview which aired on The Today Show this morning. He’s promoting Furious 7, which is out April 3 and would surely be a huge hit with zero promotion. In his talk with Natalie Morales, which took place over headsets in a helicopter, Diesel got choked up when he revealed that his new baby, born about two weeks ago, is a girl whom he named Pauline. Pauline is of course in honor of the late Paul Walker, who passed in a tragic car accident in November, 2013. Furious 7 will be Walker’s final film. Here’s what Diesel told Morales, and you can see the video below:

As the actor revealed on NBC’s Today Monday, “I named her Pauline.”

“There’s no other person that I’m thinking about as I’m cutting this umbilical cord,” he added. “I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world.”

Diesel also revealed why he broke the news with anchor Natalie Morales. “I’m telling you this because I love you,” he told the journalist. “I know that you are a good soul, and I know that this is in good hands.”

Pauline, whose birth was announced via Facebook March 16, is Diesel’s third child with Paloma Jiménez. The actor and his longtime girlfriend are also the proud parents of daughter Hania Riley Sinclair, 6, and son Vincent Sinclair, 4.

[From E! Online]

That just gets me verklempt. I got the impression that Diesel told Morales this in the helicopter because he didn’t want the audience to see him cry. It must be so hard for him to talk about losing his best friend.

Vanity Fair has a video of Vin introducing a screening of Furious 7 at SXSW. He explained that he had just come from the hospital and said it was “a good thing,” but didn’t say why. (His daughter had just been born.) He also said “this was a very personal and important film to us… every time when I saw the movie at the premiere, Paul Walker would go off to the side and say ‘Vin, the best one’s still in the can…’ I hope… this is the best one for you guys.” He also warned the audience against revealing spoilers.

Then Vin explained why the film was so personal to him, and after he said this he had to stop talking for a minute because he got choked up. He said “This was a labor of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.

In response, the audience started yelling that they loved him and one guy said “you got family here, Vin.” He recovered and said “Thanks for being my family, thanks for always taking care of us… thanks for taking the themes that we put in this action saga and somehow applying it to your own lives. You know what’s most important in life.” The audience said “family”. I didn’t need a good cry on a Monday morning, but I just got one.

Here’s Vin Diesel’s segment on The Today Show.

I cannot believe that here, in real life, Jackie and Kelso grew up and got married and had a baby. That’s exactly what happened, people. Mila Kunis was one of James Corden’s first guests on his new, fancy American late-night show (taking over Craig Ferguson’s time-slot). And since Mila was one of the first, she got to break some news. Sort of. Corden had to coax it out of her but I’m sure this reveal was the whole point of the interview. Mila confirmed that she and Ashton actually did get married at some point!

Mila Kunis and partner Ashton Kutcher have kept us guessing whether or not they are married. Until now. The truth finally came out last night when the star appeared on James Corden’s new American chat show. Corden, 36, wheedled out the answer we have all been waiting for when he pressed her to show the audience her wedding ring.

During the interview, James asked her about motherhood after giving birth to baby Wyatt in October. Coy Kunis simply answered “maybe.”

Pressing her more, James asked: “Either you’re married or you’re not.” Once again she replied saying: “Maybe.” But as he continued to keep asking her, he then demanded she showed her wedding finger, where there was in fact a ring.

Corden announced: “They are married, look.” Mila looked on a little red-faced but knew her secret was out. During the ad break, James was seen checking he hadn’t offended her but Mila laughed and said “it’s fine.”

She also admitted she was “thinking about baby number two,” adding that she “loved being pregnant and really loves being a mummy.” Mila added: “Ashton is an amazing father.”

[From The Mirror]

I want to believe Ashton is a good guy and that he loves Mila and he’s a great father. Maybe. Maybe dudes really can change. Maybe Mila brings out the best in him. I will admit, this is the most warmth I’ve had for him in years. So, Jackie and Kelso grew up, had a baby and got married (perhaps not in that order). Don’t you feel old?

Full disclosure: I’m pretty much a liberal Democrat. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to spend the next year throwing shade at every Republican presidential hopeful. There are some prospective GOP nominees that I will be taking seriously, like Rand Paul and Jeb Bush. Like, I think they legitimately have a chance to become the GOP presidential nominee and I’m interested in hearing what they have to say about a host of issues. But while Sen. Paul and former Governor Bush are certainly going to run, they haven’t announced yet. No, the honor of the “first to officially announce” belongs to… Senator Ted Cruz. Who is probably the biggest jackass/spoiler in the Republican field (not including Donald Trump for obvious reasons). Here’s how Ted Cruz announced (on Twitter!):

I’m running for President and I hope to earn your support! pic.twitter.com/0UTqaIoytP

— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) March 23, 2015

Something nice: I’m glad that the stock images of American voters weren’t just white people. I also think it’s cool that he announced on Twitter, of all places.

But now that he’s officially running, people are like “Who is this guy?” So here are five helpful reminders.

1. He was actually born in Canada. He had Canadian citizenship up until a few years ago when he “renounced” his Canadian roots. While he can still “technically” run for president, considering the “birther” movement sprang out of the Republican-wingnut-held belief that Barack Obama was secretly born in Kenya (when he was in fact born in Hawaii) and ineligible for the presidency, this is just inconsistent messaging.

2. He was one of the biggest reasons for the 2013 government shutdown… which achieved nothing but give Ted Cruz more exposure.

3. People always compare Cruz to Joseph McCarthy, in looks and temperament.

4. Just last week, he screamed at a terrified child, “YOUR WORLD IS ON FIRE.”

5. He once unsuccessfully tried to smear a Vietnam veteran and war hero.

I don’t know about you, but I’m actually looking forward to seeing what Rand Paul and Jeb Bush do to Ted Cruz in a debate.
