I saw this story over at Lainey Gossip and couldn’t resist talking about it. This is an Instagram video from model Jayden Robison, who caught up with Bradley Cooper in a Boston club last month. BCoop enjoyed some downtime from the Joy set on a dance floor with earplugs in.
Only a few weeks ago, Bradley split with 23-year-old Suki Waterhouse after a 2-year relationship. E! explained the split as differing priorities due to age. Suki wants to concentrate on her acting career, and BCoop is ready to settle down and have his mini-Cooper. So it makes no sense at all that Bradley may be macking on another model who is even younger than Suki. Jayden is represented by Trump Models, but she’s so unknown that I couldn’t find proof of her age — except for her Instagrammed 21st birthday in January. So yes, this is another potential youngun for Bradley.
The official excuse for these two hanging out together is that Bradley didn’t know how to Snapshot, so he asked Jayden to show him. Then she took video footage of them together and added it to social media. Soooo. This could have been a not-so-smooth pickup line from BCoop, who didn’t realize this model would immediately publicize their interaction. Or maybe he knew exactly what he was doing. I have a hard time believing that Bradley could date Suki for two years and not know how to use Snapshot.
Jayden is very active on social media. Her Instagram page informs me that she walked at Paris fashion week last month. She’s also a swimsuit model. Although she hasn’t officially appeared in SI: Swim, Jayden did a little “casting call” interview where she talks about wanting to be the U.S. President someday. She’s from Wichita, Kansas, and mentions that the first thing she notices about a guy is his eyes.
FYI: Here’s Bradley’s serial killer eyes on the Joy set.
Amazing dinner with @itsjbeam and the @trumpmodels family! Now to the rest of the Parisian festivities!

I have to give Elle UK some credit. They did two covers for Rebel Wilson, one of them “typical” for a plus-sized woman and one of them atypical. It seems that whenever a major fashion/beauty magazine deigns to put a plus-sized woman on their cover, they do “the Adele Special,” which is basically just a very closely cropped headshot, lest the general public be grossly offended at the mere sight of a woman larger than a size-2 on the cover of a major magazine. So, Elle UK did one cover which is just a headshot, but then they did a full-length shot of Rebel on a second cover. Good. Of course, on the second cover, you can barely see her face. So… baby steps, people.
Rebel is promoting Pitch Perfect 2: Rise of the Bellas (that’s totally what they should have called it) and her interview is… different than what I was expecting. She’s funny and interesting in real life, but I guess I’m always surprised that in real life, she’s much more sedate. Some highlights:
Why she decided to become an actress: “I was in Mozambique [on a] trip. I caught malaria and the medicines caused a hallucination. I dreamt I won an Oscar for acting. I know it sounds stupid, but it was so real and I just knew then it would happen. When I came back, everyone was like: “Rebel, you can’t be an actress because you’re so smart,” but I was sure.”
How she works within a rigged system: ‘How I see it is, I do two types of job: dream jobs like female-driven comedies and the other job, which is basically the boys’ club. I have done three big movies with men – these are talented, strong-minded males, but you have to find a way to work that system. You aren’t being paid much and you start at a disadvantage with the script. Usually, you don’t have any cool jokes and you’re there to support the male actor. Those male roles are 90% written and formed by the time the filming starts but the female roles are only 20% there. It’s unfair, but I love being funny so I improve the role, work with the limited parameters and opportunities and maximise them.’
Crush it: ‘If you are a woman in that situation you work harder, sharpen your skills more; you need to be two or three times as good as the guys. I just go in there and try and crush it.’
Fashion: ‘I am the type of girl with zero fashion sense but I am getting into it now. It’s becoming important for me. I saw a lot of girls were beginning to notice what I wear and I feel a kind of responsibility, because there aren’t any women in Hollywood my size and age.’
She’s healthy: ‘You need to be physically strong for this job. I like to have the stamina to work 16 hours a day. I may eat a lot, but I am very healthy.’
[From Elle UK]
If you look at Rebel’s IMDB page, you see the diversity in film projects she’s taken on over the past five years. She’s gotten to be breakout star in some movies (Pitch Perfect) and she’s just come in as the quickie guest-star cameo-type in some movies. It’s smart, because she’s always working and always building her network. I like Rebel and I want good things for her and I want to believe that she’ll find a way to build a long-term career for herself.

Gigi Hadid covers the new issue of AdWeek, “The Millennial Issue”. That’s actually a decent subject, although it makes me feel so old to realize that so many of the up-and-coming models were actually born in the 1990s. Their reference points are totally different!! Gigi is only 19 years old and I would argue that she’s probably the top “up and coming” model these days. She’s doing better for herself than even Kendall Jenner. And with that kind of heat, you know she’s going to say and do some dumb stuff. So far, we’ve already seen her get mixed up in a weird “is she doing coke on camera?” scandal (I think she was doing coke, btw). You can read the AdWeek piece here. Some highlights:
Building her brand on social media: “I think it’s always come naturally to just be genuine on social media and to put things into words that people can relate to, rather than putting things in a way that makes them feel that they can’t be a part of it.”
Gigi’s planning for what comes after her modeling career: “What people want to know is, OK, what’s after modeling? And that’s forcing us to think about those things [even earlier]. It’s not just OK anymore to model until you’re 25 and then stop and be a housewife.”
Gigi’s future plans: Eventually, she would like to go back and graduate college. (She took a leave of absence this year to focus on modeling full-time.) But in the long run, she’ll most likely stay in the spotlight. Hadid suggests she might someday host her own cooking program (she’s an avid gourmand) or a talk show. “I’m an entertainer, and I think that I’ll always be in that business,” she says.
She wants to get a criminal psychology degree: “Who knows? I could always be a fact checker on CSI.”

“It’s not just OK anymore to model until you’re 25 and then stop and be a housewife.” Is she throwing shade at the models who came before her? I can’t tell. I think she’s trying to say “It’s no longer the industry standard to phase out at 25 and then marry some rich guy” but she’s making it sound like a judgment on those models who did do that. Besides, Gigi, Leonardo DiCaprio is coming for you soon.
Oh, and the whole AdWeek article isn’t just about Gigi – there’s a lot of discussion about how models today are building their “brands” like crazy on social media, and Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss get name-checked a lot. Surprisingly, the person I associate with using social media to launch herself into a household name? Kate Upton. And there’s barely a mention of Upton in the piece.

How’s this for a blast to the past?
Kourtney Kardashian took to her Instagram account today to share some old school family pictures. In the two pictures she shared, which were taken in 1979, we see an infant Kourtney with her parents, Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner. Kourtney captioned the photo:
“Me and my ultra chic parents. @krisjenner where is this dress? I need it.”
As for the second photo, Kourtney added a rather simple caption:
“1979.”

New mom Olivia Wilde covers the April issue of Shape and dishes on family life with fiancé Jason Sudeikis and their son Otis, 11 months. The Lazarus Effect actress, 31, pens a personal essay, touching on how Hollywood’s new moms are expected to “bounce back” quickly after giving birth.
On her post-baby body: “After giving birth, I joined the ranks of millions of new mothers when I moaned, ‘Why do I still look pregnant? Is there another one stuck in there?’ I am not in perfect shape. In fact, I’m softer than I’ve ever been, including that unfortunate semester in high school when I simultaneously discovered Krispy Kreme and pot. The photos of me in this magazine have been generously constructed to show my best angles, and I assure you, good lighting has been warmly embraced. The truth is, I’m a mother, and I look like one.”
On the first weeks of motherhood: “First of all, you haven’t seen your vagina in months, even though it’s all her fault you’re in this situation. Now that you can finally confirm that she is, in fact, still there, she isn’t the gal that you remember, and would rather you back off and give her some space (and an ice diaper) for the time being, thank you very much.”
On getting back in the workout groove: “If I wasn’t at work, I just wanted to stay home and party with my little man—and by ‘party’ I mean, of course, endless rounds of the ‘Itsy Bitsy Spider.’ Also, I like beer. And pizza. And these two ingredients are not found in the purely fictional book I like to call How to Look Like You Never Made a Human: A Guide to Socially Acceptable Motherhood.”
On her exercise philosophy: “I believe in a world where mothers are not expected to shed any physical evidence of their child-bearing experience. In that same world I believe there is space for exercise to be as much a gift to your brain as it is your body. I don’t want to waste my time striving for some subjective definition of perfection. I’d rather rebuild my strength while dancing my ass off…literally.”
