We’re coming up on Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall’s tenth wedding anniversary. What’s the gift for ten years? I had to look it up: it’s tin or aluminum. Hm… maybe he’ll get her an aluminum tea kettle? Anyway, to celebrate their ten years together as a married couple (nevermind the decades she spent as his mistress and girlfriend), Charles has given an exclusive interview to CNN International about their marriage and why Camilla is so great, and why she’ll be an amazing queen. I’m including the video at the end of the post. Some highlights:

Camilla is fun & encouraging: “It’s always nice to have somebody on your side. She is an enormous support, and sees the funny side of life, thank God. It’s always marvelous to have somebody who, you know, you feel understands and wants to encourage. Although she certainly pokes fun if I get too serious about things. And all that helps.”

Camilla’s charity work role: “She’s done an enormous amount for the whole issue around osteoporosis, which of course runs in her family,” he said, noting that Camilla’s mother and grandmother both suffered from the bone disease. He also points to other issues Camilla is associated with, including literacy and preventing sexual violence.

The challenge Camilla faced to get the British public to accept her: “You can imagine it is a real, real challenge. But she’s, I think, been brilliant in the way she’s tackled these things.”

As many long-time royal watchers have pointed out, Charles really wanted to be with a woman who mothered him and supported him unconditionally, just as Diana wanted to be with a man who would “rescue” her and support her unconditionally. That’s why their marriage didn’t work. And Camilla was always going to come out ahead because, as those royal-watchers have widely discussed, Camilla looks very much like Charles’ most beloved childhood nanny. It’s creepy when you think about it like that, right? Anyway, that’s what I was reminded of when I watched this video – Charles loves Camilla because she takes care of him in a motherly way. Oh, well. At least they’re happy.

On her hopes for her daughter: “I just want [Isabelle] to know that she’s heard. Really heard, because I feel like that is what we all really want. When I think about any of the missteps in my life that I’ve made, all of which I’m grateful for, it’s because I just so wanted to be truly seen and heard for who I am and was afraid I wasn’t or wouldn’t be. I see you, I hear you, I’m with you as you are.”

On growing up: “I didn’t grow up thinking I was pretty; there was always a prettier girl than me. So I learned to be smart and tried to be funny and develop the inside of me, because I felt like that’s what I had.”

On Olivia Pope: “I don’t think I consciously say, ‘What would Olivia Pope do?’ but there’s a new thread of belief in my own capacity that I think comes from her. She makes it happen. She figures it out. She fixes it.”

Jessa Duggar (Jessica Duggar-Seewald) did a radio interview yesterday to discuss her family’s reality show, pregnancy, adoption and whether her brother-in-law is a cat-hating monster. I’m including the audio at the end of the post. Jessa actually breaks some news in this piece, although she doesn’t want to really confirm anything on a little radio show. She’s asked point-blank is she’s pregnant and she seems to say that she’s still not – even after four months of marriage, shock! – and says she and Ben are open to adoption, but in Arkansas they have to be married for two years before they can adopt. So Jessa says she and Ben will try for biological children and adopted children.

Jessa was also asked about the incident with her brother-in-law Derick Dillard. Derick is married to Jessa’s sister Jill, and I guess Jessa, Jill, Derick and Ben are all pretty close in age. Derick has not issued any statements about the Instagram video he posted where he seemed to be aiming his sled at a cat, then seemingly runs over the kitty with the makeshift sled. In the video, you can see the cat jump away. It looked pretty cruel and PETA even issued a statement about it. As I said, Dillard hasn’t said anything about it, but Jessa Duggar did. Jessa denies the cat-hurting incident completely.

First, Jessa says that the incident was completely blown out of proportion, and “Our hills are very uneven, so he started to sled and the cat just happened to be there and the cat jumped out of the way. I don’t know if you saw the video or whatnot but he didn’t hit the cat. It didn’t get run over.” She says the cat lives close to them and they see the cat all the time and the cat is fine. The cat didn’t have to go to the hospital. Allegedly. Do you believe her? I do not. I mean, I believe the cat is fine, but I don’t believe that Derick was completely innocent and that he would never aim his sled at a harmless animal. He was aiming at the cat and he sucks as a person.

In the latest instalment of YouTube sensation Whitney Avalon‘s Princess Rap Battle series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as the iconic princess Cinderella while Whitney plays Belle.

SMG’s 5-year-old daughter Charlotte joined in on the fun. “My #Princess mtg the #Princesses #TeamCindy #PrincessRapBattle,” the proud mama, 37, Instagrammed the behind-the-scenes shot.

On Tuesday, the actress took to Twitter with a special message for her fans.

“What a week! Today is the 18th anniversary of Buffy #HappyAnniversary and tomorrow is the release of the #PrincessRapBattle,” she tweeted.

Then on Wednesday, SMG shared the video with the caption: “#PrincessRapBattle it’s time- Cinderella won for sure!! #TeamCindy @whitneyavalon.”

Now I just hate Jeremy Clarkson ^^ because he reads The Sun. These are some pics of Clarkson out and about in London this week, following his suspension from Top Gear after some kind of mysterious “fracas.” Of course, the fracas followed years of inappropriate behavior and racialized (if not outright racist) comments. Clarkson isn’t trying to get pap’d, by the way. The paparazzi have camped outside his house. In any case, we’re finally hearing more about the mysterious “fracas” that was Clarkson undoing. As it turns out, the whole thing was about… steak? The man threw a massive hissy fit about meat, people.

The “fracas” that led to Jeremy Clarkson’s BBC suspension erupted because the Top Gear host could not order a steak, UK media reports. UK’s The Mirror quotes an onlooker who said Clarkson had been drinking rosé wine when he launched into an expletive-filled tirade using “every bad word you could think of” and ranted “so there’s no food” when he was told he would not get the steak he wanted.

The witness said: “We were surprised at his reaction because we were all thinking ‘surely soup is food’.” The chef was said to have gone home, but the meat platters were available for Clarkson and his co-presenters James May, 52, and Richard Hammond, 45.

Clarkson had arrived to the Yorkshire Dales hotel Simonstone Hall last week by helicopter. Clarkson arrived late – past 10 pm – and the chef had already gone home for the night. The staff member, who asked not to be named, said: “He wanted a full sit-down meal but that was not possible because the restaurant was shut. It was suggested he could have a cheese platter, a meat platter, soup, or another bar snack, but he was not having it. I didn’t see any pushing or shoving but he was swearing and the manager was trying to calm the situation and come to some agreement. Clarkson was directing his anger to the BBC staff, not the hotel staff. I did not see any physical contact.”

Other sources claim Clarkson did throw a punch at one of the Top Gear producers, Oisin Tymon, who has been with the show since 2008. Clarkson blamed Mr. Tymon for failing to arrange hot food. A spokesman for the hotel confirmed Clarkson was there for three days, adding: “There’s been some pretty accurate reporting of what happened.” Another hotel source said: “I would describe his behaviour as a child’s tantrum rather than anything violent.”

All of this over… steak. Over food. Which was plentiful enough, but Clarkson couldn’t get exactly what he wanted exactly when he wanted it and so he acted like a violent, pissy baby. All of the British gossips are saying that the BBC is going to investigate what happened and Clarkson will have to go before a disciplinary panel. Other sources say Clarkson has decided he’s done no matter what, that he wants to leave the BBC and even if they wanted him back, he wouldn’t come back. Alright? So long, Jeremy Clarkson.

It was revealed about a month ago that Alexa Chung and Alexander Skarsgard were hooking up. They were seen having brunch together and he was rubbing her back. Click here for a refresher. That happened during New York Fashion Week.

Now we’ve had two weeks of Paris Fashion Week and, oh lo…      

Many of the royals turned out today in London to mark the end of the Afghanistan War and honor the 453 British men and women who gave their lives in the war. The tribute was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Prince Harry – who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan – was there to honor the moment. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Countess of Wessex, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Prince of Wales were all in attendance too. And of course Duchess Kate and Prince William came out. This is the first event William and Kate have done together all year!!!

The men wore their military regalia for the tribute. Kate coordinated really well with William – Kate wore this navy coat by Belulah London. It’s the “Chiara” coat. She pulled her hair back into a very pretty off-center messy bun, which went well with the off-center navy hat, likely by Jane Corbett. She accessorized with some new sapphire jewelry too – I don’t think I’ve ever seen those earrings on Kate before. This coat is super-flattering, right? Initially, I kept seeing photos of Kate from behind and she didn’t look pregnant at all. It’s all about the high-waisted cut on the coat and excellent tailoring.

I’m also including photos of some of the other royals – the Queen wore a vibrant blue and, as always, the Queen’s brooch game is everything. The Countess of Wessex was the one who seemed… I don’t know, too fashion-platey for this event. Camilla looked fine, I would have traded her boots for a simple pair of heels though.
