Lucky kids!
Britney Spears took her two sons, Sean and Jayden, to meet Shaun White at a snowing event in Los Angeles. The two boys didn’t only get to hang out with Shaun White, but they also made another friend — a snake!
Britney took to Instagram to show off a couple pictures of all the family fun they were having:
“Took the boys to #AirStyleLA today to hang with some snowboarders, skiers &… snakes. Lol #SundayFunday.”
It looks like the boys had a great time! They grow up so fast, don’t they?

I had zero expectations for Lady Gaga’s musical tribute to The Sound of Music at the Oscars. Okay, that’s not true. My expectations were lower than low. I thought for sure Gaga would come out and sing those classic songs to a dance beat while draped in ham. But 30 seconds into Gaga’s performance, I had the same stunning realization that everyone else had: Gaga was killing it (in a good way). Just in case you want to relive it:
Her performance was so good, even Julie Andrews was taken aback. Her performance was so good, even my mom (an avowed Gaga-Hater) called Gaga the best part of the night. But still, there were some people who still did not believe. People like… Shonda Rhimes?! Shonda tweeted during the Oscars:
That was not okay. I mean, Idina is there. She is right there. RIGHT THERE. And oh dear God, Julie had to hear that. #Oscars2015
— shonda rhimes (@shondarhimes) February 23, 2015
If you go and look at all of the comments on that tweet, you can see that Shonda got a lot of heat from her followers. And I would imagine some of Gaga’s little monsters also yelled at her too. So on Monday, Shonda replied to one tweeter:
@TinoBeano I probably did miss the point. Everyone else loved it. That’s okay.
— shonda rhimes (@shondarhimes) February 23, 2015
Eh. I like that she didn’t backtrack and delete the tweet or give some sort of half-assed apology. I imagine Shonda just shrugged and thought, “meh, everybody’s different.” So she didn’t like Gaga’s performance. It’s not the end of the world.
Incidentally, whatever goodwill Gaga might have accrued with her Oscar performance will be quickly used up by Gaga’s same-old famewhore shtick, I’m sure. Look at her NSFW post-Oscar party dress if you don’t believe me.

#FBF had to post this pic also bc this angle is everything!!!!!
A photo posted by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on Feb 20, 2015 at 11:14am PST
Here’s an Instagram from Kim Kardashian from several days ago. It’s actually a throwback photo from a pre-Grammy event that we covered a few weeks ago – go here to see the original photos. This brings me to a Star Magazine story in last week’s issue. Long story short, Star Mag claims Kim pays a graphic artist $100,000 a year just to Photoshop her Instagrams. What do you think? Clearly, Kim’s Instagrams are Photoshopped, but does she do it herself or does she pay someone to do it?
Meanwhile, Kim tweeted some stuff during the Oscars and as it turned out, she didn’t even leave her house on Sunday night. The Daily Mail said Kim had finally gotten a much-desired invite to the VF Oscar party – maybe she did, maybe she didn’t. All I know is that I actually missed seeing Kim at some of the parties. I’m fully admitting that Kim’s presence would have livened things up! So, why didn’t Kim leave her house? She was… getting a piano lesson?
She’s got better things to do! Kim Kardashian decided to try her hand at a new musical hobby instead of attending the Academy Awards or any Oscar afterparties, as she usually does.
“Just finished my piano lesson in time to watch the Oscars’ red carpet!!!” Kardashian, 34, tweeted on Sunday, Feb. 22.
North West’s mom also had a special treat in mind for her husband Kanye West. “I’m going to surprise Kanye by learning one of his songs!” she gushed to her 29 million followers. “He’s hardly on social media so he won’t know I’m tweeting this lol.”
When asked by a Twitter user if she’ll be making an appearance, she responded: “I have no one to watch North so we’re watching together in our pj’s! Next year for sure!”
[From Us Weekly]
You can read the rest of Kim’s tweets here. Incidentally, she and North left New York in the middle of NYFW last week, and Kanye flew on to London. I kind of think Kim didn’t got to any Oscar parties was because Kanye wasn’t there to dress her. Right?
Ugh I hate falling sleep with all of my make up on!

Another day, another Benedict Cumberbatch round-up. You know how we discussed Benedict and Sophie’s rather obvious paparazzi photoshoot, presumably for Jaguar? The photoshoot was done days before the Oscars – go here to see. An Englishman and his knocked up wife… and a sun-dappled Jaguar. Making out while pumping gas, a tender embrace whilst watching the sunset. Well, E! News has a write-up of the photos, and it’s sort of hilarious. “Sources” tell E! News that “they could not keep their hands off of one another” and “Benedict looked completely in love, he only had eyes for Sophie.” For the love of God.
There’s also this MTV video from the Oscar red carpet – Benedict is actually really cute here and I like his response to the Doctor Strange question. Is his Strange going to be American or British? I hope British. Because I worry about Bendy’s American accent.
Next up: Ed Sheeran talked a little bit more about how Bendy was supposed to star in his music video for “Sing.” This is not the first time Sheeran has claimed that Bendy was originally going to do a music video, but this is the first time Sheeran has talked about the concept for the Cumber.
Ed Sheeran has revealed he’d lined up Benedict Cumberbatch to star in his video for Sing. Breakdancing. The 24-year-old hitmaker was planning to have his actor pal busting his moves ‘in a karaoke bar with a load of Korean dudes’ – but the idea never quite came in to fruition.
‘We had a few conversations about it, some dinner – we ate roast chicken. A conversation was about as far as it got,’ Sheeran revealed this morning on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. ‘I’ll find a better idea and approach him with it, but he’s Oscar nominated now, I don’t know if he’s up for dancing around with Koreans in a music video,’ he added.
[From Metro]
That actually would have been a cute concept video. And it probably would #BreaktheInternet and Tumblr would have a meltdown. Oh well.
And finally, Benedict and TIG got nominated for lots of Empire Awards. He’ll be up against Eddie Remayne again though.
This moment is SO PERFECT… We just don’t know how to caption it! #love #oscars #married #benedictcumberbatch #sophiehunter #oscars2015 @theacademy

I don’t know if E.L. James got a stylist for the Fifty Shades of Grey promotional tour, or if that stylist was paid by the studio, but someone was totally helping her. E.L. was really well turned out for the tour, even wearing flattering Jenny Packham gowns for two major events. James is a pill, for sure, and she’s delusional about the quality of her franchise and yes, she’s totally drunk with power. But I don’t have a problem with James being seen as fashionista-writer and a celebrity in her own right. So I have no problem with the idea that James wants an invite to this year’s Met Gala. Why not?
“Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James is angling to attend Anna Wintour’s ultra-exclusive Met Gala in May. Multiple sources tell Page Six that the writer of the S&M opus has not scored an invitation from Vogue and is asking designers and fashionable friends to help her get a ticket.
“With the success of the ‘Fifty Shades’ movie, she feels this is her moment,” said a source, adding, “She wasn’t invited by Vogue, so her representatives are asking around … to find someone who has a table to invite her to the gala.”
Meanwhile, “Fifty Shades” star Dakota Johnson, who is featured in Vogue’s February issue, is assumed to be a guest. Our source added: “It’s likely that Dakota will be going, and James wants to be at the gala, too. ‘Fifty Shades’ is her creation.”
Tickets to the coveted springtime fête thrown by the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute cost $25,000 last year for those not on the official invite list. Designers, moguls and brands can pay up to $250,000 for a table at the Vogue-orchestrated affair, as of 2014, but the prices can go up. This year’s gala is themed “China: Through the Looking Glass,” and will be co-chaired by Hong Kong retail king Silas Chou, along with Yahoo boss Marissa Mayer, Jennifer Lawrence and Chinese actress Gong Li.
[From Page Six]
Hells to the yes on Gong Li!!!! I love Gong Li. And Bedhead will be happy about J-Law co-hosting too. The Met Gala is still months away, although it is the biggest fashion red carpet that we have to look forward to post-Oscars. I’m actually thinking that the Met Gala will be a much bigger event than this year’s Oscar red carpet. And yes, E.L. James should attend if she wants to go. Why not? They let Kim Kardashian come. They let Kate Bosworth come. They let every C-list Fashion Girl come. And if worse comes to worse, couldn’t E.L. simply buy a table?

Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough’s #wedding photos are jaw-droppingly beautiful:http://t.co/KJ9LRgzskh pic.twitter.com/Bezbp1I8gm
— HELLO! (@hellomag) February 24, 2015
Earlier this month, Riley Keough married a stuntman, Ben Smith-Petersen, in the middle of the week. The whole thing had the vibe of a spur-of-the-moment thing, only I don’t think it was. Like, Riley planned on getting married on a Wednesday. She hired photographers and got a pretty dress and sold the photos to Hello. Maybe Wednesday weddings will be the newest thing?
In any case, Hello Mag published the wedding photos – go here to see. Her long-sleeved dress was by Delphine Manivet. Riley told Hello, “I wanted the dress to be simple and long sleeve and made of lace. Delphine made exactly what I wanted. I’m not very flashy, I wanted it to be very simple.” She also says she barely wore any makeup (hippie!) and wanted to wear her hair down. The wedding took place at the Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley and guests included Zoe Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Kristen Stewart (and Kristen’s plus-one, Alicia Cargile).
Anyway, Ben is cute, right? They met while Riley was filming Mad Max – he was a stuntman on the film, and that’s where Riley befriended Zoe Kravitz too. I figured you would to see the wedding pics because everyone loves wedding photos! I think Riley’s dress is really pretty and I think Riley is really pretty too – she’s only 25! I wonder if she’ll be knocked up with Elvis’s great-grandchildren soon.

I’ve still got plenty of feelings about what happened at the Oscars, especially in the Best Actor category. Michael Keaton was my candidate of choice. He and Eddie Redmayne both won Globes, and the category became a dead heat between two worthy competitors. As everyone knows, Eddie Redmayne snagged the SAG and the BAFTA and ended up winning the Oscar. Earlier in the weekend, Keaton nabbed an Independent Spirit Award, which must have been a big confidence booster. So his loss was sad even though Eddie’s speech was adorable.
I debated whether to cover this story, but it’s all over the place, so why not? Keaton had his speech prepared (as one does) and in hand when the envelope opened. As Eddie bounded up to the stage, Keaton casually attempted to tuck his notecard into his inner suit pocket. Now that moment is an internet meme. Get ready for your heart to burst open and fly away in a bird formation with this Vine video:
Yeah, this sucks, but we’re only speculating here. Maybe Keaton was tucking a handkerchief or his ever present pack of gum away. No? Let’s get real then. Keaton isn’t into “false humility“ and wanted to win. He promised an amazing speech with “weeping, gushing, phony, and obnoxious” qualities. The speech is still floating around out there. This outcome is typical of what would happen in Birdman, isn’t it?
I do feel awful for adding to Keaton’s humiliation, but the way I see it, Keaton wins no matter what. He carried Birdman, which won multiple categories. He’s led a career full of blockbusters and indies. He often takes time away from Hollywood. He only works when he wants to. Basically, he’s living the dream. And he’s Batman. (No disrespect to Ben Affleck!)
Anyway Keaton was an excellent sport despite losing his most coveted honor. He hugged all over David Oyelowo and posed with Alejandro Inarritu. Keaton went on to attend the Vanity Fair party after the ceremony. If I were him, moping would have taken priority over partying with co-stars.

Here are some photos from last night’s Elle Style Awards in London. This is Elle UK, the same magazine that trolls the Dragonflies about Tom Hiddleston’s possible wedding and baby announcements (he’s not getting married nor is he having a baby, as far as I know). Much like the American “fashion awards” shows, pretty much everyone who shows up gets an award. But there were some interesting fashion moments too. My favorite (I KNOW!) was actually Cara Delevingne in this black Vivienne Westwood. Shockingly conservative dress for Cara, and her hair and makeup are on-point. What in the world?! Cara also won Breakthrough Actress. For some reason.
Lindsay Lohan came out because she’s SO SICK you guys. She had to hospitalized and everything. Now she’s back to being crackie at random events. I would imagine she wasn’t even really invited to the Elle event, but they didn’t feel like turning her away. The fishnet panel on this gown is… odd.
Taylor Swift won woman of the year at the Elle UK awards. Her dress is straight off the runway, a Julien Macdonald Fall 2015 gown. I feel like she doesn’t do dark green all that often? This feels unusual. And it’s a good look for her too. I especially like her hair.
Jourdan Dunn – I don’t know, maybe Versace? Perhaps. I feel like she should have gone either/or with this look. Either she shows off her girls OR her legs, not both.
Diane Kruger won Elle’s Film Actress of the Year. She wore this petal pink Chanel spring 2015 Couture. She’s Diane and she almost always kills it. Love it.
Alexa Chung in what looks like a sister-wife dress. I’m consistently amazed that she’s considered a fashionista or style icon because almost every time I see her on a red carpet, she’s dressed like an overgrown toddler.
I might have saved the best for last! Here’s Gwendoline Christie wearing a CAPE designed by her boyfriend Giles Deacon. If you’re over 6 feet tall and you’re known for kicking ass and taking named on Game of Thrones, you get your boyfriend to design special capes just for you.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely led the charge for this group of attendees at the Elle Style Awards. Rosie wore an Anthony Vacarello dress with Jimmy Choo shoes. I’ve warmed to Rosie lately. She stopped trying to be an actress and went back to her strong point, selling clothes. She really works this outfit. Big hair and a leather skirt with a semi-sheer, pleated mullet? No problem. Rosie sells it with a perfectly fierce expression.
I wanted to make Olivia Wilde the headliner for this post, but she clearly isn’t into this event. Olivia’s wearing an H&M Conscious Collection dress, which looks like a threadbare t-shirt with a random, thrift-shop skirt.
Ellie Goulding loves neutral colors, which usually wash her out. This Alberta Ferretti dress with a jacquard overlay is pretty boring, but Ellie still looks good.
Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a salmon colored Roland Mouret dress with Salvatore Ferragamo pumps. The dress isn’t awful, but it could use more tailoring in the top half.
Rebel Wilson won the Rising Star award at this event. I don’t have an ID on this piece, but the red-and-pink clash works surprisingly well.
Pixie Geldof kept things not-so classy with “no hassle” written all over her chest. The black minidress would have been cute without the rack captions.
Calvin Harris is good looking guy, but his jacket looks a size too small.
Lily Cole went with a pepto-bismol, mulleted dress that feels like an afterthought.

I know Téa Leoni doesn’t get too much interest around here, but I like to talk about her and I like to read her interviews. She has a good head on her shoulders, she has thoughtful things to say, and she’s not looking for fame and admiration like so many other celebrities. The last time we covered an interview with Téa she revealed that she loves to fly fish and fry up what she catches. We also heard that she’s dating her onscreen husband, Tim Daly.
Téa, 49, covers the March issue of More Magazine. The editorial is beautiful and looks like an ad for a luxury brand. Téa is promoting Madam Secretary, which returns March 1 to CBS to finish its first season and has already been renewed for second. As you know, Téa’s divorce from David Duchovny was finalized last year. They have two children, Madelaine, 15, and Kyd, 12. Téa. Téa admits that things got messy in her marriage, but she doesn’t get into details and she maintains that she loves David. Téa got candid with More about her career, children and her grounded outlook on life. As usual, this was a joy to read:
On misogyny and ageism in Hollywood:
[Brett] Ratner (her director on the 2000 film The Family Man)—whom I really like, by the way—was going around telling people that despite my age, I was ‘still doable.’ I think I was 34 then. And he was something like 28. I asked myself, ‘Do I still care about that?’ And at that time, I did. I felt that pressure to be ‘doable.’ It was the meanest thought I’d had for myself in a long time.
Thankfully, I’ve moved past all that. Chasing youth is a war I’m not going to win. It’s not like I’m thrilled to turn around and catch my can in the mirror, but I can see now how much of my happiness could be a victim of trying to stay young and desirable. And it feels like peace and victory to be relieved of that burden.
On her early career:
I had one long thread of shitty advice throughout my career, which was, ‘You have to do this in order to do that.’ So I did some projects that were lacking. I was ‘the chick of the flick.’
On her industry reputation as a “Pass-a-dena”:
For every project I do, there are a lot I don’t. People have asked if I’m lazy. In a way it’s flattering. But the truth is, if you’re going to pull me away from my children, I need to have some connection to the work.”
On what’s more important to her than an Oscar:
People tell me I’ve never really made it. They say, ‘You don’t have an Oscar.’ There’s not an accolade in Hollywood that could replace time with my kids. At this stage of my life, it’s not about contentment. Or appealing to 20-year-olds. Or awards. It’s about finding something more. As I tell my daughter, ‘Hear your voice first.’
On living in the now
Now when the kids walk in, I’m listening to them and just loving them. I’m getting much better at noticing that life is good. That everything passes. I tell my children that. Think about the now, not the then or later. That’s the art.
On her ex, David Duchovny
On occasion, I want to throttle him. But in any real relationship with someone you love, that’s true.
[From More Magazine, received via email]
Her advice is simple and yet poignant: don’t chase fame or youth, live in the moment and be present with the people in your life. I didn’t realize that actors judged each other by their awards, but I guess there are judgmental people everywhere, and there are even those who will say it to your face. Téa doesn’t care, she’d rather be fishing or hanging out with her kids and she’ll tell you about it. She’ll also tell you about directors being creeps. I bet she has worse stories to tell.
