Scandal star Kerry Washington covers the March issue of InStyle and opens up about embracing first-time motherhood with daughter Isabelle, 11 months.
On her style vs. her character’s style on Scandal: “Red-Carpet Kerry wears a lot more color and pattern than Olivia does. She makes bold choices. When I was pregnant, I showed up at the SAG awards in a bare-midriff gown by Prada. I knew some people were going to hate it, but I thought it was super cute and really fun. Olivia, meanwhile, sticks to a more neutral palette in pastels by designers like Dior, Ferragamo, and Escada.”
More on her character’s style: “Olivia’s had a huge influence. After the first couple of episodes aired, people started posting on Twitter things like ‘I have a job interview today, and I’m trying to dress like Olivia Pope.’”
On being a working mom: “Women use this ‘guilt’ word a lot, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. I know why it’s the word that keeps coming up, but I can’t co-sign on it yet. There has got to be a better way. You can’t be all things to all people all the time. You have to experience your humanity, you have to know you are a limited vessel, and you can only do so much.”

It’s Cosima Vaughn Drummond!
Model mom Claudia Schiffer stepped out with her 4-year-old daughter in Paris, France on Sunday (February 4). The pretty pair walked hand-in-hand after lunching at Les Deux Abeillles.
The German beauty, 44, looked every bit the supermodel in a gray tweed coat paired with skinny jeans and ankle boots.
Claudia and her film producer husband, Matthew Vaughn, are also parents to son Caspar, 12, and daughters Clementine, 10.

Supermodel Cindy Crawford was all smiles with husband Rande Gerber and their two kids – son Presley, 15, and daughter Kaia, 13 – at Celebrating Omega and Orbis International’s Hospital In The Sky screening at the New York Historical Society on Thursday (February 5).
The good looking group rocked the red carpet event which raised money for Orbis International, a nonprofit organization that works to prevent and treat blindness around the world.
“I loved the idea that not only do they go in and provide much needed eye care for places, but they also teach the local doctors, so once they leave there’s a program in place so their work can continue,” Crawford told Us.
“This journey was about me learning about Orbis and just celebrating what they do because so much of what they do, all the money is donated, and then all the doctors and nurses are volunteer,” the model mom, 48, added. “It’s really an incredible organization.”
Kaia also helped promote the organization, sharing a shot with her brother to promote the online campaign, #OmegaOrbisTeddy.
As for her budding modeling career, Kaia recently opened up about her photo shoot in Teen Vogue last November.
“I’ve seen my mom do it, and it seems exhausting,” Kaia said of modeling. “It’s not easy—you’re in heels all the time and constantly having to dress up. If that’s your job, jeans and a T-shirt are all you really dream of.”
And Cindy certainly isn’t pushing her daughter to follow in her footsteps.
“She doesn’t want me to start a career too young,” said Kaia of her protective mom. “She started modeling when she was 16, but that world is very different now.”

Gwyneth Paltrow was in Mexico a couple of weeks ago for a minibreak. I posted some of her beach shots at the time. Click here to see. Now she’s showing us some of her own pictures on GOOP in a scrapbook clearly intended to promote the resort where they were staying.
A surprisingly big fashion event was held in LA last night: the Louis Vuitton Series 2 Exhibition. And it was shockingly well-attended. I’m starting with the most badass of all the attendees, Catherine Deneuve, Nicolas Ghesquiere and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Nicolas Ghesquiere is the chief designer for LV these days, and I’m not sure what to think of his tenure. I thought he was more suited to Balenciaga, but he’s brought his taste for detailed-construction to LV, to mixed results. Anyway, all of the people in these photos are wearing LV. For better or for worse. Deneuve looks fantastic and like she ran out of f—ks many years ago. Charlotte… eh. I know we’re supposed to think that she’s the incredible style icon (and she’s Ghesquiere’s muse) but I’m not feeling her ensemble.
More photos… Rosamond Pike in a minidress. Hm. She hasn’t been loyal to any one label during the awards season and now I’m wondering if she’ll wear LV to the Oscars. I think that might be a mistake, Rosamund!
Riley Keough, who just got married on Wednesday! Shortest honeymoon ever! I like the dress and I dislike the booties.
Dianna Agron. Is this mismatched style on purpose? Is this a dress or separates?
Emilia Clarke… I’m not sure, honey. This isn’t your look. The eye makeup makes you look squinty and the orange-red isn’t your color. You look like a dominatrix working at McDonalds.
Jennifer Connelly is probably my least favorite look of the event. She looks like she’s wearing an old housecoat!
Alexa Chung needs some makeup, right? I usually like the “undone” look on a red carpet, but she needs some lipstick or something.
Many of you have asked for more Gugu Mbatha Raw. Here’s a good beginning! She looks really pretty here. Once again though, I think the reds are too orangey.
Here’s Michelle Williams. We haven’t seen her on a red carpet in a while, it feels like. I was surprised to see her hair is so grown out. I think she needs to go a tad darker on the blonde though – this white-blonde does her no favors.
