Doutzen Kroes, my favorite model, covers the new issue of the Wall Street Journal Magazine. The photoshoot is gorgeous – go here to see. The vibe is very “ballet studio” and Doutzen is more contemplative as opposed to “fierce”. Which is fine. Doutzen is 30 years old right now, which means that she’s probably aging out of a lot of the modeling jobs these days, except Doutzen is still one of the most in-demand models in the world. She’s still with Victoria’s Secret, she still gets major magazine covers and she still headlines major campaigns. Here’s a secret for any magazine editors or bookers out there: most of us want more Doutzen and less Cara Delevingne. Truth. Anyway, you can read Doutzen’s WSJ. Magazine profile here. Some highlights:
Her career aspirations growing up in Holland: “I wanted to become a teacher like my mother, or a charity worker. But my mom says that when I was younger I told her, ‘People are going to know me,’ so I guess I always had that idea. We didn’t have fashion magazines around the house, so I would see someone like Jennifer Lopez’s CD covers and think, ‘I would love to have hair or makeup like that.’”
Moving to New York to start her career: “I secretly sent my pictures to a modeling agency in Amsterdam, and they sent me to New York…I lived in an apartment for models in the Meatpacking District, which back then was a place filled with all sorts of people that you couldn’t even look in the eye. I wasn’t booking jobs, and I was very lonely.”
Getting repeatedly rejected on casting calls for being “too pretty”: “It was strange: I thought, isn’t [being attractive] how it’s supposed to be?”
Where she’ll be in the next ten years: “I have no idea! Ten years ago, I had no idea I’d be here. Maybe I’ll do movies—I dream of working with particular directors—or maybe I’ll just live someplace quiet where I can grow my own vegetables.”
Balancing her and her husband’s (DJ Sunnery James) busy work schedules: “A lot of communication. Our agents are on the phone every other day. They’re the ones who keep us together.

I like the idea of Doutzen crossing over to movies. She could be a Bond Girl! Not to limit her or anything, I just think she would be a great Bond Girl. And I can’t imagine why “too pretty” is a liability in modeling. I guess the current trend is surly androgyny, or that jolie-laide look that is very styling-dependent. And yes, I’m thinking of Cara Delevingne again.
HONK IF YOU LOVE DOUTZEN.

Brandi Glanville is mostly known for her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but recently she’s been featured on another reality television series: The Celebrity Apprentice. Brandi, a mother of two sons, Jake and Mason, says that she’s glad to be part of a show that her oldest son can watch. Also, she’s pleased with the fact that viewers can now see another side of her personality.
In an interview with E! Online, Brandi comments on why she joined The Celebrity Apprentice:
“I did it to challenge myself because I wasn’t sure if I had it in me to do business related tasks because I had never done them before. And I really wanted to do a show my parents could be proud of and possibly that my 11 year old could watch. I don’t let him watch Housewives because I’m a giant a-hole on that show. I tell him mommy’s acting and he doesn’t get to watch it. Which is kind of true.”
Brandi continues:
“I’m excited to have this out and have a balance between drunk fun Brandi and now you get to see Brandi doing business deals, tasks, using my brain instead of my wine glass.”
Nori is looking as cute as ever!
Kim Kardashian hopped on Instagram to show off a picture of her daughter North West, and it’s one of her cutest pictures yet! In the black and white photo, we can see Nori hugging her teddy bear while wearing a black tutu. Kim Kardashian added the following caption to the photo:
“My tiny dancer.”
The Kardashian family recently returned from Arizona, which is where they enjoyed Superbowl festivities. While there, they also decided to take Nori to the zoo.

This news is a surprise! The last time we talked about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, the big story was that the two lovebirds were due to marry this weekend on Johnny’s private Bahamas island. They must have been throwing us off the gossip scent because Amber and Johnny got married yesterday. The ceremony took place at Johnny’s home. I wonder if they’re still heading out to the island this weekend? Maybe they’ll throw a party for their celeb friends on Johnny’s yacht. Whatever goes down, Amber is officially Mrs. Depp now. Us Weekly just published the exclusive announcement:
They just couldn’t wait! Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have officially tied the knot, sources reveal to Us Weekly. The couple decided to say “I do” just days before their scheduled ceremony in the Bahamas.
An insider tells Us that the bride and groom married at Depp’s West Hollywood home on Tuesday, Feb. 3. They will next jet off to his private island in the Bahamas for a second service.
“It will be a really simple ceremony,” a source previously told Us of the tropical getaway. “Things are in a great place with them.”

Us also got the first scoop on the engagement, so this is a done deal, folks. Can you believe it? I honestly had some major doubts about whether serial proposer Johnny would ever walk down the aisle again. But Amber nailed it down, and good for her. Also practical: Johnny in close proximity to his scarf closet before the ceremony. You know it took him forever to get dressed. Congrats to the happy couple!
