Thomas Markle gave yet another psychotic exclusive to the Daily Mail. For what it?s worth, this wasn?t something hastily pulled together so Toxic Tom could try to hijack his daughter?s promotion for her Netflix show. This seems like something Tom organized days or even weeks beforehand. His new storyline is that he?s moving to Asia. The man left California years ago and has lived full-time in Mexico for the better part of a decade, but the Mail seems to think that Mexico is part of California, because their headline is ?Meghan?s father: I?m leaving America for a new life abroad.? Dude already ?left America.? The psychotic part is that Tom invited the Mail inside his home to watch him pack up his belongings. Of course, he started with all of his photos and videos of Meghan, all of which he?s already sold or licensed to the Mail and other outlets. Some lowlights from the Mail:
A fresh start: Mr Markle told The Mail on Sunday he has decided to up sticks and leave the cliffside house in Mexico he has called home for ten years. Mr Markle, 80, has suffered two heart attacks and a stroke in recent years, and says his decision to seek a new life abroad is because he is seeking ?peace? and ?kinder people?.
He let the Mail watch him pack: I was with Mr Markle this week as he packed up a lifetime of memories. We drank PG Tips and ate endless mince pies as he sorted his possessions into packing boxes and burned those things he did not wish to keep. Here were Meghan?s school reports describing her as a child who ?demonstrates constant effort and is active in classroom discussions? ? dog-eared documents he first received when she was nine years old and which he has treasured all these years. And there were endless photographs of Meghan ? feeding the ducks with her dad, playing crazy golf, laughing during fishing trips to a neighbouring lake? Each photograph was carefully placed in a plastic bag for protection and then put into boxes for the long journey to wherever life may next take him.
He?s not brave: When I tell him he is ?brave? to start anew at 80 years old he shrugs, smiles and says: ?I don?t know if brave is the word. I am ready for a change. I have felt stuck in a rut for some time and I am ready to meet new people and experience kindness.?
Meghan?s first husband: On one table there were videos of Meghan?s first wedding to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson, who she married on a beach in Jamaica in 2011 only to divorce in 2014 ? two years before she met Prince Harry on a blind date. ?I really liked Trevor,? Mr Markle said softly. ?I don?t think he ever understood why she dumped him, either.?
LOL, the Sussexes are still not speaking to him: Incredibly, he has yet to meet his son-in-law Prince Harry or his grandchildren Archie, five, or three-year-old Lilibet, who was named after the late Queen. He has come to accept that he most likely now never will ? although, for him, the door remains constantly open. The Emmy-award winning Hollywood lighting director has not renewed the lease on his Mexican rented home. Instead, he is planning to travel and explore his options with his son Tom Jr, 58, Meghan?s half brother. ?I don?t know where I?ll end up but it is time to move on and find a place where I can live among kind people and enjoy the time I have left,? he said.
Methinks the Mail is being so heavy-handed with how ?sad? this is because they can?t count on Tom to trash his daughter at a moment?s notice whenever they need a story. Other than his big move, nothing has changed in six-plus years. Meghan still isn?t speaking to him, and he?s still getting paid to sell her out constantly. Inviting a Daily Mail reporter into his home while he packs his things is one of the grossest things he?s ever done, and that?s saying something.
I might have to eat my words. For years, there?s been royal drama about the Princess of Wales? indecision about where to send her children to high school/prep school. For the Windsors, the choice should have been obvious, at least for where to send Prince George and Prince Louis. Of course they would go to Eton, one of the most ?elite? all-boy schools in the world. Eton is where Prince William and Harry went, and it?s where King Charles wanted to go. Kate has waged a public battle for years to send the kids to a co-ed facility, and I don?t think she wants them to leave home and go to a full-time boarding school. I always thought Kate was fighting a losing battle when it came to George, that William would get his way, and the establishment would get their way and George would go to Eton. But according to a Daily Mail exclusive, Kate won and George will go to her alma mater, Marlborough.
The Princess of Wales?s former school Marlborough College has been chosen for all three of her children, according to insiders. After months of speculation, they claim the choice is so likely that the discussion has even turned to where Prince George, 11, who would be the first of the trio to attend, will be housed.
A source at the ?59,000-a-year Wiltshire school told The Mail on Sunday there had been a focus on which of the school houses on the 286-acre site could be assigned to Prince George. Marlborough has six all-boys? houses, six all-girls? houses and four mixed houses, many dotted around the campus at the school or in the nearby fashionable market town of Marlborough. Sources say that C1 House, an all-boys? house for 59 pupils at the heart of the school in what is known as the College Court, has been earmarked for Prince George for security reasons.
The well-placed insider said: ?Parents have been talking about nothing else and discussions have really ramped up in recent weeks but security is obviously a massive consideration. Prince George will have to be housed in an ?in house? ? these are the houses that are around the main quad of the school. The ?out houses? are scattered down the Bath Road, and these present more of a security risk as they are just big houses on their own and involve a lot more walking around which is the downside of Marlborough.?
C1 House has a royal history. It was once the home of the Seymour family, who moved on to nearby Wolf Hall, the inspiration for Hilary Mantel?s books. Lady Jane Seymour was the third wife of King Henry VIII. The school?s alumni include poets Siegfried Sassoon and John Betjeman and more recently comedian Jack Whitehall and Princess Eugenie.
The allure of Marlborough, for Kate, is that it?s close to Middleton Manor in Bucklebury. I remember reading some snide commentary, years ago, about how Kate went home often when she was in school and Carole was still very hands-on with Kate even when she was in school. Kate wants the same thing with her kids, and I?m surprised that she would even agree to ANY boarding school. There are other allures for Kate too ? she would be able to send all three kids to the same school, which is very important to her. Kate is very anti-same-sex education and I think she worries about sending either son to an all-boys school. So did Kate win and how? I wonder.
Kristen Bell bugs me a lot. I think it?s her tendency to overshare coupled with her terrible ?I don?t see color? children?s book. I have to give her props though for her excellent Ashi metallic gown last night, if not for her severe styling. Kristen was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, for her work in Netflix?s Nobody Wants This. A lot of people watched that, but I avoided it because I can?t stand her. Maybe I?ll get over that.
Jean Smart won in that category for Hacks. Hacks also took home Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy. This is Jean?s second Globe. She was in Rhea Costa. Queen.
I?m including presenter Mindy Kaling as she?s in Ashi too. Mindy?s gold strapless column gown was just as much of a knockout look as Kristen?s but Mindy?s hair and makeup was way better. Mindy is featured in Duchess Meghan?s upcoming cooking and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan. She said on the red carpet that she was invited to be a guest on Meghan?s show when she was postpartum from her last baby and that ?When you hang out with Meghan you know the food is going to be good.?
I would have made Ayo Edebiri the headliner for this post but there are hardly any photos of her (from our agencies) in this cool-looking Loewe suit. Ayo won a Globe in this category last year and she was nominated. A lot of people were saying she was channeling Julia Robert?s 1990 suit at the Globes. I see it!

Kathryn Hahn absolutely nailed the lead in Agatha All Along. I would have liked to have seen more recognition for that transcendent show, like this was the only nomination! Where were the nominations for Joe Locke and Patti LuPone? The writing was among the best I?ve ever watched in a series. I bought a damn t-shirt I loved this show so much. Kathryn was in Altuzzura. Somehow she makes this work. Look at this fierce bitch. She?s wearing a 90s belt!
I?m including Anora?s Mikey Madison here as she was also in a fabulous gold gown. Mikey is in Bottega Veneta. She was captivating in Anora. I really enjoyed that movie but I could tell a man wrote it. There were decisions that I did not think Mikey?s character would have made. That?s all I?ll say about it as I know a lot of you haven?t seen it yet. Mikey was nominated in the Best Actress category, which went to Demi Moore. I hope Mikey gets an Oscar nomination, she deserves it.

I would guess that the Best Actress in a Limited Series category was very tight, although admittedly I?ve only seen one of the shows in full, True Detective: Night Country. I really despised Jodie Foster?s character and was kind of mad at her, which always makes me think that the actor embodied the role, you know? When I hate them I know they?re doing their job well. I don?t have a designer ID on Jodie?s lovely black sheath gown yet, but it has pockets! I like how classic and comfortable it looks. Jodie?s speech was so tight and fun to watch. She started by talking about her community and giving a shout out to Sofia Vergara, who had just lost in that category and shouted out ?give me one.? The vibe at the Globes last night was very casual.
Sofia was nominated for Griselda. She was in Georges Chakra, in a gown we?ve seen hehr wear in so many variations over the years. She knows what works for her and she looks gorgeous. I know she?s living her best life. I guess I feel kind of protective of her after knowing so much about her love life.
Cristin Milioti embodies the anti hero in this killer black velvet gown with a spiky sequin bustline. A lot of people are saying she was robbed of a Globe last night. I?ve only seen a couple episodes of The Penguin, but wow can she act. I know we?ll be seeing more of her. Look at her syling too! Kudos to her whole team.
Kate Winslet was in this crisp white and black embellished Erdem suit. We need more suits on the red carpet. She was nominated in this category for The Regime, which I don?t think a lot of people saw. I didn?t hear too much about it other than the initial buzz. Don?t make fun of me, but I finally watched The Holiday this season. I don?t know what took me so long, it was such a sweet entertaining film.
My girl Naomi Watts was in a formitting Schiaparelli gown with a weird half moon half straight hem. Somehow this works, maybe it?s because I have so much affection for her. She makes me want to get a blunt bob. Naomi was nominated for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans. Her husband Billy Crudup?s beard is a real choice. I couldn?t figure out if it?s for a role or not. I hope so.

Last year, Emma Stone shaved her head for yet another film with Yorgos Lanthimos, this one shooting in Europe. It?s called Bugonia, aka The One Where Emma Stone Shaved Her Head. Emma appeared on some red carpets last year, post-shave, and she wore wigs to hide her new look. But at the Golden Globes last night, Emma debuted the grow-out: a choppy pixie. While I?ll defend Emma for shaving her head for a film, I will never defend a pixie! NEVER. Oh well ? it will grow out. At least, I hope she?s in the process of growing it out. Her dress last night was Louis Vuitton. I actually like it?
Rachel Brosnahan in this green Vivienne Westwood dress was one of my favorite looks of the night. I love a redhead in a rich shade of green ? Julianne Moore has done this too and it always looks fantastic. The green pendant is lovely too.
I could take or leave Alexandra Daddario?s Vivienne Westwood look, but I?d just like to point out that Alexandra just gave birth to her first child in November. She probably wanted to wear something more covered-up, thus the feathers.
Zendaya was, as always, one of the most-discussed women of any event. Zendaya attended the Golden Globes because she was nominated for Challengers, and the film ended up winning a Globe for Best Score (Trent Reznor, forever goated). Zendaya looked like a doll, an expensive doll with a custom designer doll dress. Zendaya is getting paid by Louis Vuitton to be their brand ambassador, a collaboration which many were worried about. But LV has made some really good pieces for her, and this might be one of the best. Zendaya?s look was inspired by Joyce Bryant, a Black singer/entertainer who broke through in the 1940s and 1950s. She was known as ?the Black Marilyn Monroe.? What are we calling the color of Zendaya?s dress? Burnt orange?
There?s also a lot of speculation about Zendaya?s diamond ring, which she wore on her left hand ring finger. It looks a lot like an engagement ring, and she was seen showing the ring to people at the Globes. Is she engaged? Did Tom Holland propose? There?s been no confirmation, but I wouldn?t be surprised. They adore each other and they?ve been together for years already.
Cate Blanchett also wore custom Louis Vuitton. Ferrero Rocher vibes! I don?t like this at all, but it?s very Cate.
Hannah Einbinder in custom Louis Vuitton ? this was lovely, actually.
Zoe Saldana was the first winner last night, she took home supporting actress for her work in Emilia Perez. It?s on Netflix now and if you haven?t seen it yet, watch it! You need to go into it with an open mind as it?s one of the trippiest movies I?ve ever seen. It?s audacious, it?s moving, it?s messy and Zoe?s win was well deserved. This was her first Golden Globe nomination. Her speech was so effusive, but I get it. This was a big moment for her.
Zoe was in a black sequin sequin Saint Laurent with a chocolate satin wrap. As Kaiser wrote in her Anya Taylor-Joy coverage, I hope wraps are making a comeback! I loved this gown but think that Zoe needs bolder styling. Her jewelry is sending me though.
Zoe?s costar Karla Sofia Gascon was also in Saint Laurent. It?s a beautiful look but I would have liked to see her go a little more glam. Her look at the Palm Springs Film Festival would have been perfect. She was nominated for Best Actress, which went to Demi Moore. (I think Demi?s performance in The Substance was quite good, but I hated that movie.) Karla got choked up for Zoe, and for their showrunner, Jacques Audiard, when their film won Best Non-English Language. I hope it gets nominated for Best Picture and I want to see Karla nominated for Best Actress too! Also I really felt Laverne Cox?s absence on the red carpet last night when E!?s Zuri Hall was interviewing Karla. She wasn?t bad, but Laverne should have been there.
Presenter Zoe Kravitz was also in Saint Laurent, in this gown with a similar cut to Saldana?s and with a trailing white bow. This bow really makes this look. Nepo baby Kravitz bugs me a little but I really liked Don?t Blink and also she can give face.
Selena Gomez was watchable and believable in Emilia Perez. She was nominated in the Best Supporting category. I don?t think she should get an Oscar nom for that role though. She was also nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series for Only Murders. Selena wore baby blue off the shoulder satin Prada complete with a wrap. I love how sleek, rich and elegant she looks. My god.
The Brutalist?s Felicity Jones was also in Prada, in this really cool-looking ?silver sequin gown with crystal embellished flowers, star and mirror detailing,? to borrow Prada?s wording. This gown is a showstopper. I would have liked to see her with different hair, but maybe any other look would have detracted from the look.

During the Wicked promotional tour, I often remarked on how nice it was that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo had zero drama with each other. Ari and Cynthia have now worked together and promoted Wicked together for two full years, and they?ve still got to promote the second film. They both have reputations for having somewhat tricky personalities ? no judgment ? and I?m still flabbergasted that they?ve managed to maintain a seemingly genuine friendship and allyship throughout everything. Obviously, ?two women get along really well despite everyone expecting them to beef? doesn?t sell. So that?s why a lot of people are focusing on ?wait, are Ariana and Cynthia TOO close?? Cynthia Erivo is with Lena Waithe, and Waithe has been posting a lot of interesting stuff on her social media. I?m not going to get too into this, but I do think it?s funny because? none of these people are known for their fidelity. Cynthia & Lena?s relationship probably started when Cynthia broke up Lena?s marriage. And we all know what Ari is like.
Anyway, here are some photos of Ari, Cynthia and the Wicked people at last night?s Golden Globes. I brought up the Lena Waithe stuff because she did not attend the Globes with Cynthia, and Lena was posting a lot about Cynthia and Ariana on her socials last night. Ariana wore a vintage 1966 Givenchy which was supposed to give ?Audrey Hepburn vibes.? Please don?t let Ariana anywhere near an Audrey Hepburn biopic. The dress itself was meh to me ? there are so many better vintage looks ? but I really love that Ariana wore vintage to the Globes. Cynthia wore Louis Vuitton ? she?s developed a strong relationship with LV, they?ve been making a lot of custom looks for her.
Wicked didn?t even win Best Musical or Comedy ? it lost to Emilia Perez. I find that? odd.

Abbott Elementary was shut out in every category last night by Hacks, which is too bad. Abbott has three Globe wins overall and has won so many other awards. That?s my comfort watch show and I hope it gets so many more seasons. I bank episodes of it to binge when I need a pick-me-up and right now I?m all caught up unfortunately. Abbott comes back Wednesday night though!
Star and showrunner Quinta Brunson was giving Betty Boop vibes in this gorgeous Roberto Cavalli gown with a scalloped bustline. I love how festive-looking this gown is, like this would be the perfect look for New Year?s Eve. Her styling is also perfection. Props to her glam team.
Sidenote can we please get an Anthony Mackie cameo on Abbott? It looks like he?s angling for one! He was paired with Tyler James Williams for Variety?s Actors on Actors and he told a cute story about realizing he was on the set of Abbott Elementary while he was filming.

Sheryl Lee Ralph was in custom St. John, styled as always by her talented daughter Ivy Coco. This gown is perfection! It?s tailored so expertly and she looks amazing.
Janelle James was in a black strapless Siriano gown that fit her like a glove. I love those opera gloves too they really make the outfit. She joked on the E! Red Carpet that she got a glimpse of herself and that she looked great, and she did. Pixie cuts are coming back! There were so many cute pixies last night.
Lisa Ann Walter was in a red Marchesa off the shoulder mermaid gown. Seeing these actresses in perfectly draped and fitted gowns makes me want to learn to sew. As they kept saying on the red carpet on E! last night, I?m manifesting this for myself. I swear someone told them to say ?manifesting? as mucha s possible, probably because it was Laverne Cox?s red carpet talking point. I missed seeing Laverne last night, but Zuri Hall was able to get so many celebrities to open up. She seemed boring to me until I realized that she?s a talented interviewer.

The Duchess of Sussex?s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, will be released on January 15th. The trailer dropped on January 2nd and it went instantly viral in America and elsewhere. Every time Meghan goes outside or attends an event or travels or says words, her haters scream for days, if not weeks. One of the most hilarious examples of this happened recently, when Meghan went solo to a children?s hospital gala and the Daily Mail was still screaming, crying and carrying on about it months after the fact.
As you can imagine, those same people practically gauged their eyes out at the With Love, Meghan trailer. This is their biggest meltdown since the Sussexes went to Colombia at the invitation of the Colombian government. They don?t even know why they?re angry, although I?ll give them a hint: you?re angry because she?s a Black woman who is still joyful and happy even though you tried to ruin (if not end) her life. You?re also angry that she?s putting her own spin on what is typically a ?white space? ? a show about entertaining, hosting and cooking. Speaking of, it seems that Meghan?s most vocal hater this go-round is Meghan ?My Father, John McCain? McCain. This is what McCain posted:
I was originally a Meghan Markle supporter, I thought she was cool, stylish and refreshing.
Like the rest of the world my opinion changed when she disrespected the royal family. Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored.
All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced and out of touch.
There have been 2 terror attacks in 2 days, major wars raging and Americans can?t pay for groceries. We are a country in rage, uncertainty and intensity right now.
This concept is ill advised. I would have told her to do a show helping bring fresh food to food deserts in low income neighborhoods. Do something to help people instead of your ego.
This is why the world doesn?t like you, nothing else. Just completely and utterly tone deaf to the moment.
[From Meghan McCain?s Twitter]
?I was originally a Meghan Markle supporter? ? McCain actually had some interesting and positive things to say about Meghan in 2021 around the Oprah interview. What?s changed since then? I don?t even know. I think this is more about McCain and how livid she is that Duchess Meghan is doing fluff, escapism, fun, unserious programming and doing it so well. People don?t want to admit that Meghan was doing this way before she even met Prince Harry, and that she was a successful lifestyle blogger who ran The Tig as a lucrative side-hustle. Meghan reminding everyone that she?s not new to this ruins the talking point of ?Meghan is nothing without the royal family, she was a nobody before Harry!? McCain?s argument of ?Meghan wants to be American again? is so stupid too ? Meghan always retained her American citizenship, and part of the reason why Salt Island lost their damn minds about her was because she was seen as a ghastly American who gently tried to drag an outdated, stale British institution into the 21st century.
I also find the ?cooking is elitist? argument hilariously unhinged. Cooking shows have always been a gentle form of escapism. McCain wouldn?t say that about the Great British Baking Show, would she? Would she demand that Ina Garten close up shop because of a terrorist attack? No, of course not. So why are different ?rules? being applied to Meghan?
