The event is a fan-voted awards show which was held at Nokia Theatre on January 5 in Los Angeles, California. Other winners which were announced early were Neil Patrick Harris (Favorite TV Comedy Actor) and Conan O’Brien (Favorite Talk Show Host). The latter said on his acceptance speech, "When you’re up against Oprah Winfrey, you don’t want to win. It makes Oprah very, very angry."
Laurie once again won for his take on Gregory House, winning Favorite TV Doctor which was actually dominated by the doctors from "Grey’s Anatomy". Although the biggest nominee, "Grey’s Anatomy" could only manage to steal Favorite Guest Star for Demi Lovato. For Lovato who is in rehab, this is a consolation night for her TV movie "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" also won.
Voted as Favorite TV Shows in Comedy and Drama are "$#*! My Dad Says" and "Hawaii Five-0" respectively. Homer Simpsons and his family walked away with a trophy as Favorite TV Family, beating The Griffins, The Harpers, The Pritchetts/Dunphys and The Scavos.
Meanwhile, "Lie to Me" surprisingly pocketed two nods, one for Favorite TV Crime Drama and the other for Favorite TV Crime Fighter (Tim Roth). This would be especially meaningful for the FOX show which was not given a back-nine order recently.
2011 People’s Choice Awards also honors those in movie, music, and other fields.

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter on Dec. 31 to announce her foray into music and offering a peek at her upcoming debut music video via a couple of exclusive stills.
"2011 is all about trying new things and going for it! I’m starting mine with something fun and crazy!" the reality TV star tweeted.
The two images posted on the site show Kardashian in high-style shots, sporting cornrows in one and red highlights and oversized designer sunglasses in the other. The tweets did not include any further details about or audio samples of the 30-year-old burgeoning pop star’s music.
Doing anything New Year’s Eve? How about ringing in 2011 with a little “hair whipping” with the cutest tweener on this side of the Atlantic?
Celebuspawn-turned-Billboard darling Willow Smith, 10, will join musical acts Drake, Ne-Yo, Natasha Bedingfield, Jennifer Hudson, and La Roux as a featured performer on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2011, ABC’s 39th annual live bi-coastal holiday countdown celebration. Willow, the daughter of Hollywood heavyweights Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, will perform her infectious hit single “Whip My Hair” live on the special, which is produced by Clark.
The show will also feature co-hosts Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy broadcasting live from Manhattan’s Times Square. Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie returns to host the Hollywood portion of the party from Tinseltown.
Smith took the stage at the LA Live Holiday Tree Lighting in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Making for the perfect way to spend the weekend, the stars turned up in full force for the "Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! There’s A Party In My City" show in Los Angeles, California on Saturday.
Held at Nokia L.A. Live, musician/magician DJ Lance Rock took the stage while welcoming Nicole Richie and Joel Madden – who were with children Harlow and Sparrow – onstage as super-secret special guests.
With all of the Nickelodeon Jr. characters partaking in the show, Brobee, Foofa, Muno Plex, Muno and Toodee kept the little ones laughing throughout the entire one hour extravaganza.
Watching on from the audience were Tinseltown stars and their kiddies including Jessica Alba and Honor, Gwen Stefani with Kingston and Zuma, Jaime Pressly and Dezi James, Jack Black and son Thomas, as well as Milla Jovovich and daughter Ever Gabo Anderson.
Spotted out on Thursday (November 25), the former "Friends" star donned a cute purple two-piece as she lounged poolside and mingled with her travel companions during the south-of-the-border Thanksgiving getaway.
Aside from her post-work travels, Jen continues to be a regular in the gossip headlines for alleged new romances and crushes.
Most recently, the brunette beauty is said to have a "huge crush" on Joaquin Phoenix after meeting the actor at the premiere of his movie "I’m Still Here" back in August.
Telling that Jen is trying to setup a "business" meeting, a source told Grazia magazine, "He’s single, funny and handsome, and she likes that he is a bit kooky. There have been calls, texts and emails to set up a meeting – ostensibly to cast him in a new movie project – but apparently Jen just wants to spend more time with him because he’s her huge crush."

Yeah it’s weird, but she was oddly hot, and there are probably weirder entries on the list, despite the frankly creepy implications of the ‘sex’ scene. For your very own creepy Avatar themed bedroom fun, why not get your girlfriend to draw some big eyes on a blue plastic bag with a marker pen and wear it over her head. It’s less damaging than being caught watching the DVD with your pants around your ankles and 3D glasses on.
Lara Flynn Boyle’s role in Men in Black 2 was as a shape-shifting alien queen called Serleena, and she was so hot she made the film watchable. The ex-Twin Peaks star has done the rounds mostly on the small screen, making MIB 2 a rare starring role for the raven-haired beauty. In our opinion, with cans like hers she should have been allowed to play a shape-shifting alien in every film ever to come out of Hollywood. She’d certainly have livened up A Few Good Men.
Laliari: the only woman/thing we can think of that looks sexy with tentacles (apart from Serleena, that is). Galaxy Quest’s Laliari, played by Texan-born Missi Pyle, gave away her secret during a make-out scene where she began sprouting octopus-esque appendages. Once we got over the initial shock, it didn’t take long to warm to the idea. Just think what she could do with those things in bed.
If aliens are meant to be so intelligent, then why do they seem to consistently send leaders to Earth who have massive bulging foreheads, spindly fingers and flabby green bellies? Send a leader that looks like V’s Anna, and you’ll have the world’s leaders in the palm of your extraterrestrial hand. There’s no way Obama and the boys could resist succumbing to her naughty short haired sexiness!
Leia’s main hotness rival in the original Star Wars trilogy, Oola was Jabba’s Twi’ilek dancing girl. She and her crew of palace babes entertained the bounty hunters with their atrocious music (since digitally remastered) and hot dancing (retained from the original). Sadly she met her demise in a rather sudden and messy fashion as brunch for the Rancor. What a waste.
Underrated sci-fi epic The Fifth Element featured a ditzy, tough as hell, red-headed alien babe as its protagonist. Played by Mila Jovovich, Leeloo spent a satisfyingly large amount of time showing just enough skin to get us all warmed up, and not so much that we couldn’t watch it when we were 12.
Who would have ever thought there could be a redeeming feature to the world’s most, er, earnest sci-fi franchise? Sure, Battlestar Galactica had its moments back in the day. But there was only so much of the same shot of plastic models fighting in space one could take before throwing an implement at the TV due to perilous levels of boredom. Then the new series appeared with improved scripts and Tricia Helfer’s barely clad space globes, and all of a sudden we were addicted again. She might technically be a robot, but she’s certainly not made from metal, and she’s definitely not from Earth. What’s more, there are thousands of identical copies of her.
Another hot Twi’lek from the Star Wars universe, Aayla was a Jedi Master with blue skin and the standard bizarre head tails. Neither attribute failed to impress in a sci-fi series which, Padme Leia aside, was remarkably short of other-worldly eye candy. Like her other main competitor, Oola, Aayla also enjoyed wearing various outfits which would have been more appropriate on Tatooine than Hoth, if you catch our drift (no pun intended!).
Not to be confused with ’80s pop group T’Pau, T’Pol was a saucy Vulcan temptress who added a whole new dimension to the old joke. Vulcanised rubber? Spock’s condom. Played by the generally smokin’ Jolene Blalock, she is technically a MILF according to her Star Trek age. Only Helen Mirren looks as good at 65.
A particular high for fans of T’Pol was the foxy knife fight seen above. You pop your favorite Star Trek characters in an alternate dimension, and they bare their midriffs. Whatever next?
Sil from Species did an awful lot for the genre. Where do we even begin with her? From a DNA splicing experiment gone wrong (don’t ask), she escaped and grew rapidly into a hot, 20-something female whose main goal was to have sex with as many virile males as possible. Were this to happen in real life, and this were how all the aliens turned out, we reckon we’d be happy to see the human race overtaken.
“It’s times like this I wish I had three hands!” One of the most awesome quotes of all time, courtesy of the discovery of this Martian prostitute’s special party trick. Sheer sci-fi comedy genius. You might have been expecting to see this lovely lady earlier – however, while she might be from Mars, she’s a mutant, not an alien. Nevertheless, for sheer novelty value, she deserves a mention alongside these off-world honeys!

A brand new poster has been released in order to promote “The Kennedys,” and Katie Holmes is a spitting image of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
Of playing the honorable role, the “Mad Money” actress told Us Weekly, "I feel so lucky. We have these wonderful seamstresses who are creating beautiful dresses that are obviously replicas of real things [Kennedy] wore.”
She added, "Her great style was both appropriate for every event that she went to and also classic, and also things that were wearable. I feel really lucky to be playing her."
Premiering on The History Channel, “The Kennedys” will be out at an undisclosed time in 2011.
Demi Lovato, currently under treatment for "emotional and physical issues" at a medical center in Chicago, hopes to be home for Thanksgiving.
A source tells E! News that the Disney star is "getting better."
"She doesn’t want to be in the center for Thanksgiving and wants to go home," the source adds.
Demi is not expected to resume work immediately following her release from the treatment facility.
A Disney source tells E! News that the channel doesn’t expect the Sonny with a Chance star to return to the TV show till New Year. They don’t want Demi to resume work till she is ready.
To fill in for her absence, Disney has spun a new plot from within the TV show that doesn’t involve Demi.
Demi’s upcoming album, for which she has recorded four to five tracks, has also been shelved to give her time to recover.
"They’re still committed to her," the source said. "No one is abandoning her. But she is holding off on her music for a bit."
Declaring their love for one another once again, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have renewed their wedding vows.
According to ET Oline, the "Hills" couple said "I Do" during a romantic ceremony on Sunday afternoon at a beachfront house in Southern California.
Talking about the special occasion, Spencer told ET, "[This time] it’s just me and my bride on a little secret beach with nobody else and it’s just about her. Versus last time it was about everything else, it was about drama, it was about ratings."
Chiming in, Miss Montag added, "It was about everyone but us, so this is really our first wedding about Spencer and I and our love. Now I feel like I can finally just be Heidi and just be in a marriage and just be a person. I’m just really enjoying every day."
Ready to dish all of the details, ET will have extensive coverage of the nuptials throughout the upcoming week.
