A brand new poster has been released in order to promote “The Kennedys,” and Katie Holmes is a spitting image of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
Of playing the honorable role, the “Mad Money” actress told Us Weekly, "I feel so lucky. We have these wonderful seamstresses who are creating beautiful dresses that are obviously replicas of real things [Kennedy] wore.”
She added, "Her great style was both appropriate for every event that she went to and also classic, and also things that were wearable. I feel really lucky to be playing her."
Premiering on The History Channel, “The Kennedys” will be out at an undisclosed time in 2011.
The 31-year-old actress — who has four-year-old Suri with husband Tom Cruise — adores spending time with the youngster and admits she helps keep her spirits high when she’s having a bad day.
She said: “It’s been really wonderful and I love being a mom. Suri comes to the set with me. She is amazing and it’s really fun to share making a movie with her. She brings so much to it.
“She is such a light that you instantly feel better. When I’m working, I feel like, ‘Wow, this is so magical I get to share this with you, and you give me so much.’ It’s really fun.”
Katie has spent the past few weeks portraying the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for mini-series The Kennedys, alongside Greg Kinnear.
Back home in the States just in time for the holidays, Katie Holmes was spotted paying a visit to Hermes in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

Clad in jeans, a grey jacket and matching grey boots, the former “Dawson’s Creek” darling was joined by a gal pal for the day’s outing, hitting a few local shops as she chatted with her friend.
The sighting comes just days after it was reported that Katie and Tom reunited with pals John Travolta and Kelly Preston at a Scientology party in England last week.
Held at Saint Hill Manor in West Sussex, Tom reportedly jumped up and shouted during the numerous speeches: “Because we never took our eyes off the ultimate prize, we stand where we are today. We are in this together.”
Back out for another family romp, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took daughter Suri for a walk in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday (October 11).
Toting around a coffee drink, the former"Dawson’s Creek” damsel carried her little girl in her arms before setting her down and joining Tom in walking hand-in-hand around the east coast city.
Meanwhile, recent reports tell that TomKat recently enrolled Suri at the Catholic Charities Yawkey Center For Early Education And Learning.
“Katie has been listening to her parents who are devout Catholics,” a source said of the decision. “She is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic – as she was.
“They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school. To say they were having arguments is putting it mildly – but Tom came around to the idea in the end.”

With husband/daddy Tom Cruise working on the set of “Wichita,” Katie and Suri popped on over to DeLuca’s Market to do a little grocery shopping before continuing about with the day’s errands.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, the latest tabloid reports tell that Miss Holmes and her “Top Gun” hubby have spent over $3 million on little Suri’s wardrobe.
A source told press, “Katie and Tom really splurge on Suri, and as they’re so famous, they always get the top fashion designers to custom-make her clothes. Suri may only be three, but she’s very vocal when it comes to her outfits and she’s rarely seen in anything twice.”
Katie Holmes narrowly avoided serious injury after a car caught fire on a movie set.
The actress, who is currently on location in Australia filming Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, was reportedly shooting a scene in the vehicle when the battery exploded. Katie was left shaken after dashing from the car just before it burst into flames.
A source said: “Katie was inside a car when the vehicle’s battery exploded — it was sparking smoke and fumes before the car then caught fire. The exploding battery was not a part of the film.”
In Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark — a remake of a 1973 TV movie — Katie plays a woman who is stalked by wicked gnomes. Katie has previously revealed she is excited about working on the new film, even one featuring wicked gnomes.
She said: "I’m really enjoying it. The movie is really character-driven. It’s really her journey becoming a mother. In the midst of that, there are unexpected scares." Right. With evil gnomes.
Acting isn’t exactly a walk in the park, especially for Katie Holmesz – who barely escaped a car fire while on set of “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” over the weekend.
The “Dawson’s Creek" darling was in Victoria, Australia filming a scene inside a car when its battery suddenly exploded causing the vehicle to catch fire, according to reports.
Luckily, Holmes, who plays a woman stalked by evil gnomes in the film, was able to escape before attaining any injuries.
“Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” which also stars Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison, is expected to hit theaters in 2011.
Continuing her dance lesson regimen, Katie Holmes was spotted arriving at a Los Angeles dance studio earlier today (June 4).
The “Mad Money” mommy looked pretty worn out as she strolled past the paparazzi sporting a grey cardigan over a black shirt with black trousers and black shoes.
In related news, former “Dawson’s Creek” show runner Tom Kapinos (creator of Californication) recently told press that when he got his start in Hollywood, Holmes and her costars were a pain in his butt.
Speaking of his “Dawson’s” experience, Tom explained, “It was the four monstrous actors at the core of it. They were very young, and they got very famous, and they made life miserable for any writer or producer on the show.”
