A so called “fan” has been charged on Thursday with assault and placed in an area for prisoners with mental-health problems after coming up to Leona Lewis during her book signing and punching her in the side of the head.
Peter Kowalczyk, 29, punched the 24 year-old singer in the head as she signed copies for fans of her autobiography in London. The London resident will appear in court on October 26.
“A guy came up and punched her to the side of the head,” the pop star’s spokesman told. A source described her as “okay” but “bruised.”
Although Lewis did not have to go to the hospital, she wrote on her Web site, “Yesterday was a horrible shock and left me extremely hurt and upset. I’m very sorry to those I wasn’t able to meet at the signing.”
Lewis also pulled out from a BBC program she was going to appear on.
She rose to the top after becoming the first female winner of “X Factor” and nothing is going to stop Leona Lewis now.
It is being reported that the “Bleeding Love” beauty is about to embark on a massive jaunt to accompany her next album by going on tour in 2010 and continuing through to the following year!
Speaking of her second album, the 24-year-old says, “I’ve recorded about 20 songs so far. I’d say it was half way there. I’ve been flying back and forth to LA to record it.”
And, as far as the rocky relationship rumors go, Leona wants everyone to know that everything is fine between her and beau, Lou Al-Chamaa, telling, “We’ve been together so long now that all the traveling isn’t a problem.”
