Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are expecting their second child together. The couple already has a daughter named Harlow, 16 months.

Madden and Richie have been together for over two years. When asked if they plan to marry, Nicole says yes.

“Eventually, yes,” she says of their marriage plans. “I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do.”

Richie was also joined by her father, Lionel Richie, who definitely approves of Joel Madden.

“Love him. Love him,” singer Lionel Richie said.

When King asked Lionel if he wanted his daughter to marry Joel Madden, he had a great reply.

“I want them to take their time,” he explains. “I’m more interested in whether they like each other and whether they’re best friends. Because that means they’ll be great parents forever.”

After attending a promotional event at Byron & Tracey salon earleir in the day, Nicole Richie was spotted out at Staples Center in Los Angeles last night (May 28).

The former “Simple Life” starlet made the trip for the Fleetwood Mac concert, which drew out a star-studded guest list including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney

Meanwhile, Nicole recently chatted with press about the idea of marrying boyfriend/babydaddy Joel Madden.

“When I was a little girl I dreamed about getting married and that is definitely still a dream of mine one day,” she explained.

The couple who have baby girl together, Harlow, and also another one on the way, feel that a wedding is not on the top of the list of priorities.  “But right now, we’re really, really focused on our family, we’re focused on our foundation and as far as feeling that need of commitment, we both really have that in each other.”

And what is the word on the expected baby? A pregnant Nicole wants to keep the sex of her child a secret. “We want the surprise. What is there really to plan? I’ll get the clothes after.”

Stepping out with her little girl, Nicole Richie was spotted taking daughter Harlow to her weekly toddlers gym class in West Hollywood on Tuesday (May 19).

The 27-year-old expecting “Simple Life” starlet turned jewelry designer was accompanied by her tender, covering up her burgeoning baby bump from on looking paparazzi.

As for her baby-on-the-way (due in August), recent reports tell that Miss Richie has had a craving for pickles.

“After enjoying lunch with Harlow at Beverly Hills deli Nate ‘n Al, Nicole told Joel she wanted some pickles to go,” an insider tells. “Joel popped back in the eatery and came out seconds later with the goods.

“Nicole told him, ‘These aren’t the right ones,’ and sent him back. Joel finally got the order right the second time round,” the source adds.

It’s hard to believe that Nicole Richie is the same girl who once struggled with a DUI arrest and an addiction to heroin.

These days, pals say Nic has completely turned her life around. Most recently, the expectant mama of two – who is expecting her second child this August – has “gone green,” adopting the environmental-friendly lifestyle that has become all the rage with health and nature-conscious fanatics around the Globe.

Nicole, 28, is insisting that her one-year-old daughter Harlow and BF Joel Madden consume only organic fruits and veggies. She’s even growing an organic vegetable garden in the expansive backyard of her Hollywood Hills home. Nicole also does all of the cooking for her family – which involves making lots of salads and veggie stir fry.

They’re both big fans of promotional appearances, and last night (May 6) Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted at the launch of the House of Harlow 1960 Jewelry Collection in Miami, Florida.

The “Simple Life” hottie and her “I Don’t Wanna Be in Love” rocker beau looked to be having a wonderful time as they mingled with fellow guests at Ida and Harry at Fontainebleau.

Mr. Madden looked a little extra punky as he sported his new bleached-blonde coif along with aviator sunglasses and a pair of gold chains.

Meanwhile, Nicole was beaming with pride as she showed off her House of Harlow wares, sporting a vintage turquoise floor-length silk dress with gold bangle bracelets and armbands.

Keeping herself busy as she readies for her second child, Nicole Richie was spotted running around Los Angeles over the weekend.

Wearing a casual pink ensemble, the former “Simple Life” starlet dropped by her Pilates class before grabbing a bite to eat at Sharky’s.

And while she’s already been down this path before, insiders tell that Miss Richie has been a bit emotional as of late.

“Her hormones have really been kicking in and Nicole has been crying at everything from movies, to TV shows and even commercials,” a source told press. “Joel [Madden]has been tiptoeing around her making sure he doesn’t upset her – but it doesn’t seem to be working.”

Getting a much-needed caffeine fix, Nicole Richie was spotted out with baby Harlow in Hollywood on Friday afternoon (April 24).

The pregnant reality star turned designer and her young daughter made a stop at the local Starbucks, with Harlow sporting a big smile as mom picked her up from her seat.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Nicole is recently returned to the States following a short trip to Canada for the launch of her House of Harlow jewelry collection.

The line, which is named after her baby daughter, is said to feature “art deco inspired cuffs, rings, earrings, and headbands.”

Pairing up for a couple’s lunch date, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted grabbing a bite to eat at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday (March 23).

According to an onlooker, Joel looked to be attentive and helpful to his pregnant sweetheart during the course of their meal while Nicole seemed tired and couldn’t finish her order.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Richie is soon to be launching a brand new maternity line for her fellow expectant mothers.

Excitedly talking about her latest endeavor, Nicole said, “There will be a maternity line, a clothing line, shoes, belts, everything.”

Now we aren’t ones to gossip, so you didn’t hear this from us, but word is Nicole Richie, who announced her second pregnancy in February, is driving her friends and family nuts with a rash of intense and emotional mood swings.

“She goes from one extreme to the other in an instant,” a snitch blabs in the March 30 issue of The National Enquirer.

Nearly everyone in Nic’s life has been subjected to such tantrums in recent weeks, but no one more than the socialite’s live-in love, Joel Madden.

“Nicole is needy and insecure to the point that she wants Joel with her all the time.”

“It takes almost nothing to set Nicole off or start her crying,” the spy continues.

Nicole is also struggling with jealously issues as she goes closer to her due date. “She goes through Joel’s cell phone,” the insider divulged. “Recently she found a picture of another girl-a fan-and Nicole went on a jealous tirade that ended in tears.”

“If he runs out for coffee, Nicole times him and then reads him the riot act for taking too long.”

Joel and Nicole already have one daughter, Harlow, born in January 2008.
