Hard at work on her upcoming album, Rihanna was spotted arriving at Milk Studios in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District on Monday (October 19).
Still sporting that interesting ‘do of hers, the “Umbrella” songstress hurried inside dressed in all black paired with brown shoe booties.
Keeping her fans in an exciting suspense, the singer’s Web site now features a countdown clock letting everyone know that on October 20 at 11:23am something big is going to happen.
There’s no exact word on what that will be, but there are assumptions that the singer will release her first single off her forthcoming album, which is reportedly due out on November 23.
Glammed up for an outbound flight, Rihanna was spotted making her way through JFK Airport in New York City on Wednesday (September 23).
The “Umbrella” hitmaker sported a sexy ensemble complete with bright red shades and matching heels as she strolled through the departures terminal.
Having been working on a new album as of late, Rihanna has nabbed Justin Timberlake as one of the producers.
The “Sexy Back” stud tells, “In my opinion, she’s got the world in the palm of her hand right now, based on her success with her last record.
Timberlake adds, “The stuff we’ve come up with in the studio, it’s the next step for her. It’s a little more grown up. It’s got some edge to it.”
Just having flown into the Big Apple from the west coast, Rihanna was spotted out in New york City on Wednesday afternoon (September 16).
The “Umbrella” babe strutted her stuff as she headed to grab a bite to eat at Da Silvano, clad in a sexy black sheer see-through top.
As previously reported, it was recently confirmed that Rihanna will be working on a collaboration alongside All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter.
Talking to press at the VMAs, Ritter said, “I actually met with her a couple of weeks ago and the funny thing is, I actually don’t remember half of it. I remember the first half of meeting her, but then, as the night progressed, somebody decided to drink too much Jameson.”
“But seriously, she’s such a sweet girl that I’m gonna try to give her a little piece of my heart,” he continued. “I wanna get in a room with her, and I wanna see what flies. I’ve got some songs for her, like, little things written, and I wanna see what she wants. See if she wants something aggressive and rock, and I’ve also kinda got some really fun, clubby ideas.”
Chris Brown’s interview aired on Larry King Live last night where he explained that his relationship with Rihanna was much like Romeo and Juliet’s.
Brown showed up to the interview in a powder blue sweater and bow tie, telling King that after the incident with Rihanna occurred, it was the media that really drove them apart.
The two tried to spend time at Diddy’s mansion in Miami to work things out. During this time Brown interpreted the Romeo and Juliet metaphor, explaining, “It was sort of like Romeo and Juliet story, like both sides not wanting us to kind of have contact so we just got away.”
He also told King that during that time, which he says was the worst time of his life, he and Rihanna were able to rekindle their friendship.
“I’m pretty sure we can always be friends,” he said, “and I don’t know about our relationship, but I just know definitely that we ended as friends.”
He told over and over again that he loved Rihanna. “I’ve said countless times how sorry I am to Rihanna. I accepted full responsibility but it’s just one of those things I wish I could have relieved and just handled totally different.”
There were other moments that he wishes he could go back in time and change, such as the physical anger.
One police said that Brown pushed Rihanna last year and busted the windows of a car in a fit of rage just three weeks before hitting Rihanna.
And though he has a rocky past, Brown says, “I don’t think at the end of the day my career is over.”
Following a short trip out of town, Rihanna was all smiles as she stepped off a helicopter at the 34th street Heliport in New York City on Monday (August 3).
The Barbadian beauty is fresh off of a weekend in the Hamptons, as she looked refreshed while heading from her chopper to an awaiting car.
In related news, Rihanna’s ex Chris Brown is set to appear in “Larry King Live” on August 5 to discuss the assault charges he racked up.
Late last month, Chris made a video apology, saying, “I felt it was time you heard directly from me that I am sorry ….. I have told Rihanna countless times, and I’m telling you today that I am truly, truly sorry, and I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better.”
Tending to her all-important business matters, Rihanna was looking colorful as she arrived for a business meeting in New York City on Thursday (July 30).
The “Umbrella” songstress was dropped off by a chauffeured ride for the day’s duties, strutting past paparazzi while chewing on a red Twizzler along the way.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, recent reports from MTV claim that Rihanna is “in shock” after ex-beau Chris Brown decided to make an online video apology.
A friend of the singer says that Brown’s choice to make a public apology for forgiveness of the assault that took place back in February was selfish and hurtful. “She’s in total shock,” explained the friend. “It was like he gave her another blow, albeit one of a different kind.”
Rihanna had been keeping the situation very private and out of the public. “All she knows it that it’s in the news again and that’s the one thing she didn’t want,” continued the source. “She’s been trying to put it behind her and move on as fast as possible. They spoke earlier last week and Chris made no mention of any public statement then.”
Enjoying an evening on the red carpet, Rihanna attended the UK premiere of "Inglourious Basterds" at London’s Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday (July 23).
Looking sexy in a lovely Alexander McQueen outfit, the "Umbrella" hitmaker posed for pictures and mingled with fellow guests at the high-profile event.
As previously reported, Rihanna has been making the most of her stay in London – enjoying a night out with Jay-Z earlier in the week.
According to insiders, the pair racked up quite the hefty bill at swanky nightspot Vendome – owing $16,000 when the night was over.
Uh-oh! Rihanna’s Wednesday night tattooing lesson at an ink parlor in Manhattan has landed the “Umbrella” hitmaker in big trouble with the city health department.
The Grammy winner could face a hefty fine and criminal charges after she was spied tattooing without a license at East Side Ink in the city’s East Village this week.
“She came by to hang out with us and her regular tattoo artist Bang Bang,” says East Side Ink owner Yadira. “He decided he wanted to get a tattoo from her and then two of the other artists decided they wanted to get one as well.”
Riri gave her buddy and the other artists one of her signature signs.
“She tattooed us for a change,” says Yadira.
According to TMZ.com, Rihanna etched umbrella designs and the letter R on three artists employed by the establishment. That’s a big no-no, because the NYC Health Department demands that tattooists hold a valid license to hold a needle in the Big Apple and Rihanna could be fined almost $2,000 for the three misdemeanor offenses.
“Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City’s Health Code. We are sending someone down to follow up on this,” a city spokesperson said.
It’s being reported that Rihanna might take the stand today to testify at ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s preliminary hearing Monday. Read more on Chris Brown’s hearing below.
If Rihanna testifies today, it will be her first time publicly speaking about what happened the night her boyfriend allegedly attacked her. Rihanna has freed up her schedule so she could be in court if prosecutors call her as a witness.
The singer may face questioning by Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, about the argument with Brown inside a rented Lamborghini on a Hollywood street last February.
Geragos has stated he hoped to avoid the spectacle of public testimony, but plea-deal talks thus far have failed and California’s Supreme Court rejected his request to delay the hearing to decide if the case should go to trial.
Chris Brown, 20, has entered a “not guilty” plea at an earlier hearing to felony counts of assault and making criminal threats. These charges could carry up to four years, eight months in prison if he is convicted.
Los Angeles Criminal Court Judge Patricia Schnegg will not be cameras into the courtroom during Rihanna’s testimony, court spokesman Allan Parachini said.
At the end of the hearing, Judge Schnegg will decide if there is enough evidence to send the case against Brown to trial.
Rihanna has not attended any of the hearings, but has been closely following the case against Brown.
Rihanna’s testimony may reveal her current feelings about Chris Brown, who she was in a relationship with for more than a year before the incident.
Her lawyer told the judge at Brown’s first hearing four months ago that she did not want his bond to bar him from having contact with her.
“Rihanna requested that no such order be issued,” Etra said.
Rihanna did not file a complaint against Brown, but the prosecution’s case is built on what she told detectives and on physical evidence they collected, which includes photographs of her bruised and battered face.
That February night of the incident, Rihanna did not call police, but it was someone who heard her screams for help.
The statement, filed with the court to support a search warrant for cell phone records, described a brutal attack against Rihanna allegedly by Brown.
Supposedly the argument between Brown and Rihanna occured when Rihanna, who was riding in the sports car driven by Brown, found a text message on his cell phone from “a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.”
“A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one-inch raised circular contusion,” the statement said.
“Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.’s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle,” the statement continued.
“Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, ‘I’m going to beat the s–t out of you when we get home! You wait and see!’” The detective said “Robyn F.” then used her cell phone to call her personal assistant Jennifer Rosales, who did not answer.
The statement continued:
“Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, ‘I’m on my way home. Make sure the police are there when I get there.’
“After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, ‘You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I’m really going to kill you!’
“Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in [an] attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown.
“Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand, causing her to suffer a contusion on her left triceps (sic) that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand.
“Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant, Melissa Ford. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out of the window onto an unknown street.
“Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand.
“Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle in front of 333 North June Street and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it.
“Brown did not know what she did with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.’s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness.
“She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown’s body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet, causing several contusions.
“Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F.’s plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order.”
At the end of his statement, the detective said Brown sent a text message nine days later apologizing.
“In the text message, Brown apologized for what he had done to Robyn F. and advised [Rihanna’s assistant] Ford that he was going to get help,” Andrews wrote.

Brown issued a public apology for the incident just days after his arrest.
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,” he said in a statement released by his spokesman. “I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.”
Following a fun-filled night of partying with the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna was spotted making her way out of New York City on Thursday (June 11).
Accompanied by a gal pal and airport staffers, the “Umbrella” songstress sported sexy silver tights as she was led through the terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport and aboard her outgoing flight.
As previously reported, it was recently announced that Ri-Ri will be testifying in Chris Brown’s preliminary assault trial on June 22nd, as she was officially subpoenaed this past Tuesday.
Her lawyer Donald Etra told press, “Rihanna was served at my office by L.A. DA investigators. If the preliminary hearing indeed goes forward, she is now legally required to be there, she will be there, and will answer all questions truthfully.”
