As well as being Corrie’s biggest ‘soap babe’, samia-smithSamia Smith is one of the best young actresses, don’t you think? Having spent seven years in her role as kennelmaid-cum-hairdresser, Samia really proved her worth to me during the story surrounding Maria’s affair with Charlie. I am particularly fond of Maria’s rapport with Audrey; Samia and Sue Nicholls must have such a fantastic working relationship. I relished in the scene last week where the two talked about Carla Connor’s split ends et al, Samia is so natural at all levels. I would actually prefer to see Maria involved in a more character-centred story as opposed to her trying to find another man. More, please!
