Paula Abdul may be done with American Idol, but her kindness in judging will remain – as Victoria Beckham plans to be nice when judging the contestants on the hit music show.
Also, like Paula, Posh expects she and Simon Cowell will not always find themselves in agreement.
“I like that fact that’s he’s honest. I think he’s very funny,” Victoria told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Friday. “He has a very tongue-in-cheek British sense of humor, which I have too. I’m looking forward to a bit of banter. I hope he does give me a little bit of a hard time. I love that. I feed off of that.”
The two judges don’t know each other well yet, but she says, “He is the only man in the music industry who turned down the Spice Girls and said we would never work.”
The 35-year-old was asked if she would fill Paula Abdul’s shoes of being the nurturing judge and responded with, “I want to be nice to people. I know how it feels to stand there and be judged. I don’t want to shatter anybody’s drea, but at the same time there’s nothing wrong with constructive criticism.”
Does Mrs Beckham feel guilty or apprehensive about taking Abdul’s spot? “I don’t. I’m a spiritual person and I believe that you get back what you put out there, and I hope she does something that is bigger and better. There’s something great for her around the corner, I’m sure.”
After flying out of LAX Airport yesterday, Mrs Beckham is currently in Denver watching the first round of auditions.
We all know the fashion plate is quite fond of handbags, but it’s been reported that Posh owns one hundred Hermes Birkin bags worth a total of two million dollars.
The most basic of these exclusive bags start at six thousand dollars.
Her Birkin bag is a staple of her wardrobe whether it’s the red at the Ritz in New York, Posh preening with plum at the airport or the two tone variety…they always perfectly compliment her wardrobe.
But the daddy of all the Beckham bags is this number that she debuted in Dubai for hubby David’s AC Milan soccer game.
This crocodile Birkin is called the Silver Himalayan, is encrusted with ten carats of diamonds and sold for one hundred and twenty thousand dollars.
Ever the fashionista, Victoria Beckham revealed her new Emporio Armani Women’s Underwear advertising campaign at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City on Wednesday (May 6).
Posing next to the latest ads, the former Spice Girl looked stylish in an Emporio Armani black fitted tuxedo jacket with black beaded shoulders and Swarovski crystal beaded leggings.
According to a source on the scene, Posh then took time to “greet fans and pose for individual photographs with each in a private meet-and-greet in the women’s intimates department.”
The Macy’s launch follows an appearance earlier this week at the Costume Institute Gala, during which time she showed up stag while hubby David Beckham continues playing for Milan.
Victoria Beckham will make a guest appearance on the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants later this year.
The former international fashionista worked on the project-providing the voice of a British princess-in Los Angeles late last year. Her cameo is expected to air during a one-hour special this summer.
“Scriptwriters created the role of a posh British princess especially for her and were blown away by what a natural she was. Victoria enjoyed every minute and is keen to do more.”
Nickelodeon tipsters tell The Daily Mail: “Victoria was a complete pro and finished all her takes in a day. She isn’t interested in becoming an actress, but voice-over work is something that appealed. She joked that she could simply rock up to the studios in a trackie and no make-up and no one would ever know, “ the insider added.
“Network bosses have been in touch since, offering more work – she really does have her pick of projects.”
Victoria Beckham dVb Demin Line Dropped By Saks Fifth Avenue And it’s another Fashion Foul Up for Victoria Beckham. The British-born stylista’s denim line, dVb by Victoria Beckham, was just drop-kicked by Saks Fifth Avenue, fashion insiders squeal.
Is it just us or was Victoria better as a Spice Girl than she is as a fashion designer?
In 2008, the line was dropped by popular West Coast Kitson because of poor sales. Now Saks has followed suit, dumping Posh over her exclusive designer dress deal with competitor Bergdorf Goodman.
“Saks dropped Victoria Beckham’s line,” says a Page Six spy. “They were offended when she sold her dress line to Bergdorf’s and not to Saks, even though Saks launched her denim line in their New York store.”
“Bergdorf never carried her jeans, but they got her designer line anyway,” the source quipped. “Nobody wanted to buy $300 jeans from someone who is not a trained designer.”
