Two weekends ago, there was an interesting story about Prince Harry and his ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas. Cressida was starring in a stage version of The Importance of Being Earnest and Harry came out to the play with his friend Guy Pelly. There were some theories about Cressy and Harry, like maybe they were getting back together or maybe they were still talking and there was a possibility at a reunion. Well, Cressida gave a cover interview to the Sunday Times Style Magazine and she’s saying… nope. No boyfriend. She’s a “strong, independent woman.”
Cressida Bonas, the former girlfriend of Prince Harry, has described it as “nice” being single as she described herself as a “strong, independent woman”. The couple began dating in 2012, after being introduced by his cousin and her close friend Princess Eugenie, but split up last year.
In an interview, the 26-year-old said not having a boyfriend is “nice”, adding: “I’m a strong, independent woman.”
The model and actress also dismissed the intense interest in her relationship with Harry.
“All that stuff is not real,” she told the Sunday Times Style magazine. “It’s really important to remember that all it is, is noise, noise that can be very loud at times.”
She told the magazine the environment in which she grew up was “full of drama and music and thespian-like people”.
In an apparent reference to being known as the prince’s former partner, she said: “I hope the focus is becoming more about the skills that I have.”
Cressida also said she is “a lion” when it comes to defending her family and said it is most annoying when people “attack” her mother Lady Mary-Gaye Curzon.

Hm. Do you believe Cressida is a strong, independent woman? Eh. I think Cressida played a lot of games with Harry and it ended up blowing up in her face. I think Harry has tried to maintain good relations with her despite all of her game-playing and all of her leaking to the press. But I also believe that Cressida truly is done with Harry and the idea of royal life. She’s a “name” now, with a modeling contract and the start of an acting career. And I do think it’s important to her that she can support herself financially, because word is that her family really isn’t that well off – they’re aristocratic, of course, and well-connected. But the “old money” just isn’t there anymore. Thus, Cressida is looking to make some money as a model, celebrity and actress rather than a royal girlfriend. Which is fine.
