THE ROCK Hand and Footprint Ceremony in Hollywood

San Andreas star Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson was honored with a hand and footprint ceremony held at The TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. on Tuesday (May 19).

The Fast Five actor, 43, proudly posed with his daughter Simone, 13, at the afternoon event. The Furious 7 star was also joined by his girlfriend Lauren Hashian as well as ex-wife Dany Garcia, and his parents Rocky and Ata Johnson.

Although the actor and his ex-wife split when their daughter was 5-years-old, they have stayed true to their promise to “spend the rest our lives together as best friends.”

In his upcoming film San Andreas, The Rock – who plays a divorced rescue helicopter pilot searching for his teenage daughter after a massive earthquake hits California – revealed he could relate to the character as the divorced dad of his own teenage daughter.

“I know what it’s like to be divorced,” he told Extra. “I know what it’s like to struggle in relationships, I know what it’s like to have a pretty good job and be pretty good at your job, but at the same time have insecurities.”

He added: “I drew on the awesome relationship I have today with my teenage daughter ’cause there’s no greater bond than daddy-daughter.”

That said, it sounds like he can embarrass his teenager at times.

“She quietly thinks I’m cool, but I just have this tendency to embarrass the s**t out of her at any time, ’cause I’m that dad who’ll all of a sudden breaks out in song,” he said. “I’m that dad who, when I drop her off at school, she’s trying to be quiet and like ‘Go go go’ and I’m like, ‘Bye baby, see you,’ everybody’s like ‘That’s The Rock, yeah honey, I got this big pickup truck, yeah.”

After the hand and footprint ceremony, The Rock took to Instagram with a special message.

“Arm raised high.. Since its opening day of May 18th, 1927, the world famous and iconic TCL Chinese Theater has immortalized only just under 300 Hollywood men and women. To my loving and awesome family, loyal team, incredible colleagues, partners and especially the most amazing and coolest fans in the world – I’ll never forget this day for the rest of my life.. and it was all possible because of you. Thank you so much and like I said in my speech… “Cheers to always goin’ for it and always puttin’ in the hard work with our two hands”. #FromJamesStewartToEastwood #DenzelToSpielberg #AndNowMyBigPawsAndClaws #HonoredBeyondWords #HandAndFootCeremony #MonumentalMilestone #SanAndreasWorldTour,” he wrote.
