I feel like George Clooney is just one week away from referring to Amal as “the old ball & chain” and doing an old Don Rickles routine. That’s what it feels like, right? A shtick. Oh, haha, George Clooney is an old married man now, that’s so charming. Isn’t it nice that George is so happily married and he keeps talking about his lovely bride? Chuckle, elbow, etc. When in all honesty, I’ve never been more convinced that George went through all of this as an effort to rebrand his image. He had gotten to the point where his bachelor lifestyle was a punchline rather than an aspiration. So he changed the subject in a big way. In any case, George is still talking about Amal, obviously.

He was on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night. It may seem like we’ve already covered this stuff, but we haven’t. George is the one recycling his own quotes. It’s almost like his publicist handed him a sheet of cutesy quotes and easy stories to tell about married life. George told Kimmel that Amal hates that George wears the same t-shirt all the time: “There is that moment when I’ve worn the same T-shirt like for a week that she says, ‘Really?’” He also says Amal “hasn’t taken away” his motorcycle. Yet.

That interview is pretty meh. Not so meh? Clooney’s interview with Charlie Rose. I talked about the first clip yesterday (go here to read), which was Clooney talking about his proposal, of course. And since Charlie Rose is a real journalist (seriously), he totally asked Clooney about babies. When asked flat-out if he thinks about becoming a father, George said: “I haven’t really. I’ve thought about it I suppose, but I haven’t really – it hasn’t been high on my list, uh, I’ve been asked a lot lately because I’ve gotten married and I’m doing a movie with kids in it. You should see how creative the way they ask me.”

George also appears on a pre-taped episode of The Graham Norton Show, airing on Friday. He chatted about the country mansion he bought for Amal in England, saying: “We’ve bought a place in a wonderful little town called Sonning and we are re-doing the house so that we can live in it, which would be nice. We will move in in a couple of months.” George also said they “do normal things” at home, and they go out to the local pub, etc. George also explained how he ended up at the New York Comic-Con when he was supposed to be on his honeymoon:

“I got the call while on my honeymoon and was told it was really important that I fly in. First I had to explain that to my wife which didn’t play well. And then, the whole idea of spending part of your honeymoon with people dressed up like Captain Kirk and Star Wars’ characters somehow wasn’t easy to explain to my new bride. But, I showed up and it was actually fun.”

He also described a long-standing prank he’s done on Brad Pitt. Apparently, Clooney had some stationary made with Brad’s name and everything, and George has been sending out letters to famous people AS Brad.
