Madonna’s new face looks really good here, right? It’s a combination of spending the money on GOOD work (after years of spending money on bad work) plus Photoshop. Madonna covers the new issue of Rolling Stone and that was going to be the big story here, but then Madonna totally and completely WIPED OUT during her performance at the BRIT Awards last night. I feel sorry for her, but I’m still going to embed the Vine. Totally.

The set-up: this was Madonna’s first BRIT Awards performance in 20 years. She did not walk the carpet, and her performance was the last one of the evening. She performed “Living for Love,” the same single she performed at the Grammys. This performance was different than the Grammys, though, because it involved Madge wearing a giant Armani cape, and I guess one of her backup dancers was supposed to pull it off, and instead of the cape coming off, Madge went ass over tea kettle. Here’s the Vine:

She looks like she hit the stage hard. Apparently, she dropped her mic in the fall and missed a few lyrics, but she was able to get up and continue performing. Poor Madge. She really could have hurt herself!

As for the RS cover story, there are some very interesting quotes about Kanye, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. You can see RS’s cover excerpt here. Some highlights:

On Kanye: “He’s a brilliant madman. He can’t help himself. Like, he doesn’t have the same filters other people have. He has to blurt things out—he’s always saying inappropriate stuff. But he also has brilliant ideas in the studio, if you can get him to pay attention long enough. I don’t always agree with the things he says or does—I don’t always like his music, even. But he’s a beautiful mess. I love him…I think he takes award shows too seriously…So that part of him I can’t relate to. Like, what’s the point of fighting for somebody to…like, ‘This person should have got it?’ Don’t come to an award show looking for justice!”

On Lady Gaga: “I don’t think she wants my crown…We live in a world where people like to pit women against each other. And this is why I love the idea of embracing other females who are doing what I’m doing. The only time I ever criticized Lady Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs. It’s got nothing to do with ‘she’s taking my crown’ or ‘she’s in some space of mine.’ She has her thing. I do think she’s a very talented singer and songwriter. It was just that one issue. And everybody’s obviously run with it and turned it into a huge feud, which I think is really boring, quite frankly. And you know what? I don’t care anymore. Here’s the thing: one day everyone’s going to shut up about it. You’ll see! I have a plan.”

On Taylor Swift: “She has an opinion, and she’s going against the norm.So in that respect, she is similar to me, yeah. And also, people just want to give her a hard time all the time because they think she’s a goody-two-shoes, so of course I want to embrace her.”

I actually think Madonna’s assessments are pretty dead on. I feel that way about Kanye too (much to everyone else’s chagrin): he’s crazy and petty and silly and he’s interesting and somewhat fascinating. He is a beautiful mess. I also think Madge is right about Gaga, only Gaga was coming for Madonna’s crown at one point, but that moment is over. And yes, Gaga did rip off Madonna’s song.

Oh, and Madge is fine. She posted this after the BRITs.

Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine! ??#livingforlove
