Here’s one more weekend wrap-up post for all of the Cannes Film Festival fashion. These photos are all from Sunday’s premieres, actually, and I think the majority of them are from the big premiere of Todd Haynes’ Carol. Salma Hayek is attending this year’s Cannes because she’s promoting a movie, but she’s been doing a lot of high-profile events and it’s turned into a pretty major fashion show. She wore this purple Gucci last night and… wow. I think this is the best, most flattering gown I’ve seen on Salma in a really long time. I tend to think Salma does better with this kind of clean, simple styling.
Charlotte Casiraghi came out to Cannes wearing this rather blah Gucci. Charlotte is one of the faces of Gucci, which means she would have had her pick of all of the gowns. It seems like this was a weird call for her to make.
Poppy Delevingne in Burberry Prorsum. I kind of love this? Am I alone? Very few ladies are wearing green, so she really stood out. Plus, I love the design.
Erin O’Connor in Ralph & Russo Spring 2014. She looks like ribbon candy, the kind you get at Christmas. Man, how good is ribbon candy? You have to be in the mood for it, but when you are, it’s SO GOOD. Anyway, I like that she went for a bold, show-stopping dress, but her hair and makeup just feels like she didn’t put much effort into it beyond putting on the dress.
Sienna Miller walked a carpet with director Xavier Dolan. She wore this totally goth Sonia Rykiel Pre-Fall 2015 which I totally hate.
Aishwarya Rai in Elie Saab… WHY? She’s one of the most beautiful women in the world. Why would you put her in this cheap-looking gown that doesn’t even look finished?!
Li Bingbing in Elie Saab Fall 2014. Simple, pretty, elegant. A little bit boring.
