We’re still waiting for Duchess Kate to go into labor. The baby is now nearly a week overdue, according to reports. It seems like Kate isn’t interested in being induced just yet, which is fine although I’m now horrified at the thought that this could be strung out over the weekend, or that we could be dealing with royal baby stuff and Met Gala stuff next week. The royal reporters are getting antsy too –there was a kerfuffle yesterday when some paparazzi and royal correspondents noticed what seemed like some Will & Kate staffers and security personnel at the Lindo Wing, but either it was a dry-run in preparation or it was just nothing. So, while we wait(y), let’s chat about some random royal stuff making the rounds.
Today is Will & Kate’s fourth wedding anniversary. To celebrate, The Daily Mail did a hilariously fawning piece about how Kate is now “as grand as any royal-born” with a life that is “now one of endless engagements, royal tours and a constant battle for normality in the face of a constitutional role that makes doing so all but impossible.” *eyeroll*
Many believe Kate will pop today because it is their anniversary. To celebrate, I’m including some photos of the royal wedding, four years ago today!
Kate was spotted yesterday. She was seen behind the wheel of a car, going into Buckingham Palace with Prince George and Maria-the-nanny – you can see a photo here. It’s widely believed that Kate took George for a swim, because he’s apparently a water baby and he loves nothing more than splashing in the BP pool. Some even believe Kate took a swim.
Security. While we wait, security personnel are patrolling and locking down the Lindo Wing in advance.
Breakfast. Yesterday, William and Kate did something nice for the royal fans camped outside St. Mary’s – they sent the fans coffee and croissants. W&K were criticized for that too – why not tea? Why not bangers & mash? Why not an English breakfast? I have no idea. Maybe because croissants are easy to transport? Oh, and the box of croissants was wrapped in a pink ribbon. IS THAT A CLUE?
