Far from being typical Hollywood spawn, Keanu was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1964 to a showgirl/costume designer mom and geologist/convicted heroin dealer pop. Half English (on his mom’s side) and the remainder Chinese/Hawaiian, Keanu Reeves got his first name from his uncle — “Keanu” is Hawaiian for something along the lines “soft breeze over the mountains.”

Keanu Reeves is best known for his roles in The Matrix trilogy, Speed, A Walk in the Clouds, The Lake House… and let’s not forget Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
