She’s topped the bestseller list with her first book, and it sounds as if Lauren Conrad is eyeing the producer role as she tries to get L.A. Candy adapted for the big screen.

Talking about the former MTV reality star’s hopes, a source tells People magazine: “Lauren’s goal is to get into producing – it always was. It was always to make L.A. Candy into a film or TV show. She’s been in talks about it”

While no deal has yet to have been made, Conrad told the New York Daily News that she is, indeed, “hoping for a movie deal,” although she doesn’t “want to commit to anything until I see all my options.”

Meanwhile, there are no plans for Miss Conrad to take on acting duties, as the insider tells, “She would never star in it because she doesn’t want to be an actress. She spent so long on TV .[she] would love to produce.”
