Lindsay Lohan’s obsession with blonde screen siren Marilyn Monroe has reached new heights. No longer content with simply mimicking the late beauty in fashion spreads, Lohan is desperate to star in a remake of Marilyn’s motion picture classic Some Like It Hot and has been frantically pitching the idea to film bosses around Hollywood.
A hit at the box office in 1959, Some Like It Hot also starred Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. In 2000, the American Film Institute named Some Like It Hot as the “Greatest American Comedy Film of All Time.”
Director Brett Ratner has already rejected the idea of bringing the musical comedy back to theaters, but Linds isn’t giving up.
“Lindsay is pinning her hopes on getting a remake of Some Like It Hot off the ground,” Lohan snitch blabbed in a report featured in the August 11 issue of OK! Magazine.
“She’s undaunted, but there’s no script and there’s no money. The only thing Lindsay has to sell is herself,” the insider continued, adding that the often troubled star recognizes many similarities between herself and the tragic Monroe, who died of a drug overdose in 1962.
“She sees herself as the second coming of Marilyn Monroe – misunderstood, talented and in desperate need of an incredible film vehicle that will truly showcase her talents.”
The actress has posed for two Monroe-themed photoshoots, one in New York Magazine in 2007 and another in Spanish Vogue just last month, Lindsay even named her 6126 leggings collection in honor of Marilyn.
