Nicole Kidman was everywhere for Golden Globes weekend – she wore a dramatic MiuMiu gown for the 8th AACTA International Awards, she attended the Gold Meets Golden party, she did the BAFTA Tea Party event on Saturday, and she generally looked like she’s been having a ball. The Kidman Renaissance is here, but it really never left. I mean, she had some “off” years for a stretch of time, but Nicole really has been churning out interesting work on a consistent basis for decades. Nicole is nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Destroyer, where she “uglied up” to play a cop on the edge. She could conceivably get more nominations – perhaps even an Oscar nomination – for Destroyer, or for her supporting role in Boy Erased. We’ll see!

The E! Red Carpet for the Golden Globes starts at 6 pm with Ryan Seacrest (gross) and Giuliana Rancic (uh). NBC will also have a live red carpet show starting at 7 pm. The Globes start at 8 pm, and for the second year in a row, the Globes will be online too – they will be livestreamed on the NBC app and on the NBC website. I have my fingers crossed that Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will do a good job co-hosting together.

He’s arrived! 90 Day Fiance stars Paola and Russ Mayfield became parents for the first time. The reality show couple welcomed a baby boy named Axel Mayfield on January 1st.

Axel made his entrance just a bit after the clock struck midnight, entering the world at 12:22 a.m., measuring 22 inches and weighing in at 7pounds, 5 ounces.

The new mother recalled what is probably the best NYE she could have dreamt of, “What an amazing way to start a new year, while I was hearing the fireworks and people telling me, ‘Happy New Year,’ I was just focused on meeting my baby, it wasn’t easy but it was totally worth it. My little miracle is so beautiful and calm. I feel so blessed and I can’t believe I am a mom now! I’m ready to start this new adventure and to be the best mom for baby Axel.”

What an amazing feeling to be overwhelmed with joy ??? We would like to introduce you to Axel Mayfield. He is already taking after his father and is such a cute, sweet, and calm little boy ? Proud new father Russ also made a statement about his new family of three while he gushed about his beautiful wife’s strength during giving birth. “I was at Pao’s side the entire time and am so proud of how amazing she did pushing our son out into the world. Momma and baby are doing great and I have so much pride when I see us all together. Axel is such a calm and sweet little boy and am happy to say I’m one proud father.”

The couple announced to Us Magazine exclusively that they were expecting in July. The TLC pair were over the moon about their impending arrival. “This is the most amazing feeling ever! We can’t believe we are going to be parents — we are already so in love with our baby.”

The news of their baby joy was a blessing for the couple after the heartbreak that the two endured when Paolo miscarried prior to this pregnancy. The tragedy put a strain on the reality couple’s marriage both coping with the loss in different ways.

This is going to sound weird, but has anyone else noticed how flat the Duchess of Cambridge’s hair has been in the past year? Flat is a relative term in this case – her hair is still bouncy and wavy, and she still has nice hair. But my theory is that Kate has finally given up the wiglets, extensions and “falls” to make her hair look fuller. It’s a good transition for her, honestly. Anyway, I was reminded of that as I looked through these new photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Sandringham today. William and Kate joined the Queen at St. Mary Magdalene Church. They greeted well-wishers and royal fans as they walked the short distance to the church.

Kate smartly repeated a look for this trip – this is a Catherine Walker coat she’s had in her closet for at least a year. She wore this coat for the “arrival” photos in Norway in February 2018. It’s a good coat – I like how unfussy the design is, and I enjoy the lack of visible buttons. I don’t know if the headpiece/fascinator is new, but it’s cute. She tends to keep it very simple and classic when she knows she’s going to be around the Queen.

Meanwhile, Kate’s 37th birthday is coming up this week. She turns 37 on the 9th. Unfortunately for Kate, she won’t be spending her birthday with Prince William. After some people were like “hey, shouldn’t William be working more?” when the 2018-royal-event numbers came out, William quickly added an event to his schedule for the 9th – he’ll be doing a meeting and a “tea party” at the Royal London Hospital. I doubt Kate minds that much – while she always spends her birthday doing “private” stuff, we tend to hear about how she spent her birthdays with her mom and sister. I bet Pippa and Carole will make a point of coming back from St. Bart’s in time for Kate’s b-day.

I always forget how jam-packed Golden Globes weekend is with tons of back-to-back events, fundraisers and red carpets. Sean Penn does his annual fundraiser for his Haiti charity. The BAFTAs host a tea party in the middle of the day (so celebrities can stop by on their way to evening parties). And the annual Art Of Elysium happens the night before the Globes. This year’s Art of Elysium gala was “Michael Muller’s HEAVEN,” which was sponsored by Dundas, the clothing line. Most women wore Dundas. I actually don’t have the ID on Jennifer Garner’s dress – it doesn’t look like a Dundas gown to me, but Garner has the ability to make even high-end pieces look… not high end. It honestly looks like she just recycled a Christmas bow by attaching it to a simple black dress. That totally sounds like something she would do. Also: her boyfriend wasn’t there, just FYI.

Here’s Joaquin Phoenix with his sisters, Summer and Rain. He also posed for a couple of photos with his girlfriend Rooney Mara, who mostly walked the red carpet solo.

Mel Gibson and his baby-mama Rosalind Ross. I have to say, I think she’s SO pretty. She’s very young too – she’s 28 to Mel’s 63. They got together like four years ago.

One of the big headlines at the end of last week was about the Duchess of Sussex and how much she’s spent on clothes during her first year (not even) of duchessing. This is one of the big reasons why the Duchess of Cambridge did a flurry of repeats in November and December – because Kate smartly latched onto the British papers’ accounting of how much Meghan has spent since she married Prince Harry. Meghan and Kate’s work clothes are all bought by the Prince of Wales, through his Duchy of Cornwall income. It’s all a work expense. For years, Kate has gotten bad headlines about how much of Charles’ money she’s spent on her work clothes, whether it’s her two dozen blue dresses, her 300 buttony coatdresses, or her endless “bespoke” pieces. Well, Meghan’s the same – she’s spent a fortune on clothes so far, and these figures exclude her Givenchy wedding gown.

From a wedding watched by millions to her first royal tour, the Duchess of Sussex has had quite a year. And it seems Meghan has invested in a wardrobe to match, with her clothing bill for 2018 totalling almost half a million pounds. The eye-watering sum – £406,915.43 ($515,879.65) – is revealed in new research published this week by royal fashion experts UFO No More, who have totted up the amount spent by British royals and their European neighbours on clothing and accessories over the past 12 months.

Researchers from the fashion blog – which stands for Unidentified Fashion Objects – calculated the cost of some 1,661 new pieces debuted in 2018 by royals in Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Norway and the Netherlands. Their findings put Prince Harry’s wife some £300,000 ($380,334.30) ahead of her closest contender, Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary – and that’s not including the cost of Meghan’s show-stopping bespoke Givenchy bridal gown.

And she splashed out almost six times times as much in 2019 as her sister-in-law Kate, who wore less new clothing this year as she spent several months away from the public eye following the birth of Prince Louis in April. In October, MailOnline exclusively revealed how Meghan had worn clothing worth a staggering £117,934.62 ($149,515.27) during her 16-day Pacific tour with Prince Harry – almost the same amount that Kate spent on clothing for the whole of 2017. The Prince of Wales is understood to cover the costs of Kate and Meghan’s wardrobes for ‘work-related’ engagements through his official household budget, funded by the Duchy of Cornwall.

By now, everyone knows I’m a Meg Defender, but I can’t really defend this. This is WAY too much money for about seven months of duchessing. How many trench coats does she really need? And Meghan should know by now – she won’t be given the same grace period or goodwill that Kate has gotten for how much she spends. I will say a few things as mitigating factors about Meghan though. One, I’m pretty sure these numbers include her jewelry, some of which she might have owned beforehand, some of which might have been gifted to her, and all of which will totally be reworn for years to come. Jewelry = investments. Same with purses and shoes, honestly. Secondly, Meghan smartly invested in some separates and good-quality classic pieces which will hold up for years. Thirdly, she’s pregnant and her figure is changing so of course she’s going to need new clothes for that too. Still… she’ll learn that she can’t spend like this in the future.

When I read the quotes from Kevin Hart’s interview with Ellen DeGeneres, I felt like I was smoking crack. The whole thing just had a “wait, wtf is happening” vibe to it, right? In the month since Kevin Hart quit that bitch and refused to host the Oscars after his old homophobic tweets came to light, there has been no mention of “let’s get Kevin Hart back.” He quit. He refused to apologize – which is all the Academy asked of him – and he quit. No one was like “omg, come back!” Granted, from the sounds of things, the Academy is still scrambling and trying to figure sh-t out. But literally no one was like “let’s beg Kevin Hart to come back.” So it was especially strange for Ellen to suddenly cape for Kevin and act like he had behaved impeccably and we were all still mad at him for no reason, and that we’re all just begging for him to come back. What is this all about?

As it turns out, the Ellen appearance felt more like one part of a larger campaign for Hart to “come back” in some way. Hart also sat down with Variety for an interview, which took place before his Ellen appearance, but was published afterwards. In the interview, he says (in part):

“Would I ever do it? No, it’s done. It’s done,” Hart said. “The moment came and it was a blessing and I was excited at the opportunity and I still am. In my mind I got the job, it was a dream job, and things came up that simply prohibited it from happening. But I don’t believe in going backwards.”

“When I go on that stage, it will be because I’ve somehow figured out a way to win the Oscar,” Hart said. “Somehow I’ll get to the stage but it’s not going to be in this way because it just comes with such a weird cloud at this point.” He added, “There’s no ill will toward the Academy.”

“You’re living in times where words and points of view can be misconstrued because of how strong the internet is,” Hart said. “The manipulation of headlines is what was amazing when this whole thing hit. It was, ‘Kevin Hart steps down because he refuses to apologize for homophobic tweets.’ This was what was said and it was blasted all over the internet, and the word ‘again’ somehow got lost, which was a major word. I’ve addressed this several times.”

Variety makes a big deal about how Hart seems to have changed his tune just hours later when speaking with Ellen, but it actually felt like Ellen was trying to orchestrate something for her friend. Or something, really don’t know. It feels like such a weird conversation to have – he quits, then does the thing the Academy asked of him, which is apologize. No one talks about getting him the job back, but he seems to think he’s in a position to reject the Academy once again. What a bizarre farce.

Variety also makes a big deal about how Hart has repeatedly said that he’s apologized before for those homophobic tweets, but no one can find this phantom apology or explanation. Vulture even investigated the claim of some long-standing apology from a decade ago, and they didn’t find anything either. When Variety said as much, this was Hart’s response:

“It’s easy not to find the good,” Hart said when asked where the elusive apology is. “When me and Will Ferrell did ‘Get Hard,’ and we did the promo tour, that’s when Kevin Hart was hit with so much stuff … I remember the span in 2011 when this came up, and I had to say to a person in the LGBTQ community, ‘Hey, I understand. And you know what? I’m wrong. But I can’t do nothing about that joke because it was done. I can’t do nothing about the tweets because they’re out there. I was wrong. It’ll never happen again and I’m sorry. Please accept my apology.’ So when people say, ‘Yo, I can’t find it,’ well, go ask the individual who dug up the stuff from 2009 to go do the same. I can’t put that energy into something that’s in my past. I can’t put that energy into negativity.”

Ah, there we go. So now it’s not just about homophobic tweets from a decade ago, it’s about the fact that Hart has done several films laced with homophobic comedy AND he’s done homophobic bits in his stand-up, AND he’s never really repeatedly apologized for any of that sh-t.

Here’s the Ellen video… this is gross. The waves of self-pity Kevin Hart feels for himself is unsettling – it wouldn’t even occur to him to feel genuinely sorry for all of the LGBTQ kids who get bullied or assaulted. He’s too busy feeling sorry for himself. Also: it’s not “slander.”

Britney Spears still has a conservatorship, legally controlled by her father solely. At one point, Jamie Spears attempted to make Britney’s fiance/manager Jason Trawick the co-conservator, but Jason and Britney broke up. Despite what Britney’s die-hard fans want to claim, this has always been an all-encompassing conservatorship – this is not just about Britney’s finances, it’s about her life, her meds, her doctors, her boyfriends, and her power of attorney. In 2018, Kevin Federline asked for a larger chunk of Britney’s income for child support, and Jamie made a lot of noise about how dare K-Fed and how Britney would fight this tooth and nail and… Jamie caved. Because he knew Kevin would follow through on a full audit of Britney’s finances, sure, but also – Kevin still has full-custody of Jayden and Sean. Because Britney is still legally incapable of caring for her children, and any time she gets with her sons is through Kevin’s decisions. Rather than fight that, Britney and Jamie caved. That was just a few months ago.

Well, it looks like Jamie Spears was recently hospitalized, and now Britney is postponing/cancelling her latest Las Vegas show. Britney released this statement on her social media:

I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. According to reports, Jamie was hospitalized in November for a spontaneously ruptured colon. He spent 28 days in the hospital, with Britney by his side, and he’s now at home and expected to make a full recovery after a “long, complicated post-operative period.” Britney must feel unmoored – Daddy Spears has been micromanaging her life for more than a decade, and now, suddenly, doctors are asking her to sign here and make a decision about this, and should we move him there. I wonder about… so much of this. By that I mean, I wonder what the legal ramifications are, I wonder if she’ll be getting a new conservator, I wonder if she’s really managing to keep track of the doctors and the therapists and the in-home nurses and all of that.

Angelina Jolie has long eschewed the more traditional Hollywood scene. Even though she seems to have made LA her homebase for the past few years – while she and Brad are divorcing – we rarely hear about her going to industry parties or events or even screenings. Like, I can’t even remember any time when Angelina might have taken the kids to a screening of a new film that she wasn’t involved in. If she takes the kids to a movie, they actually go to a movie theater and they buy tickets. Anyway, all of this to say… Angelina went to a party. An industry-type party. The party was for…Survivor? Oh, Angie.

Who knew Angelina Jolie was a Survivor fan? A source tells PEOPLE the actress, 43, and some of her children attended the Survivor live reunion of the show’s 37th season, David vs. Goliath, in Los Angeles on Dec. 19.

“They had a great time,” says the source. “The kids really enjoyed it.”

Jolie’s attendance at the long-running CBS show, which has already aired, might have surprised a few but it stemmed from her friendship with writer, producer and actor Mike White, who was a contestant in the latest season as a member of the Goliath tribe. The two became friends while working on the upcoming Disney film The One and Only Ivan based on the 2012 novel by K. A. Applegate. White wrote the screenplay while Jolie stars in and serves as a producer in the film.

A second source tells PEOPLE White, 48, and a small group of friends headed to Jolie’s home for an impromptu gathering after the reunion was taped.

Fun fact: Mike White is a prolific screenwriter and writer of episodic television, and one of his most famous screenplays was… *drumroll*… The Good Girl, which was one of Jennifer Aniston’s indie vehicles back in 2002. Mike White is also an actor, and he appeared in The Good Girl with Aniston, and I remember hearing about how they became friends too. And now he’s friends with Angelina. When will Angie ever stop stealing Jennifer’s men, huh??? Anyway, it makes some kind of sense that Angelina just did this because she’s friendly with Mike White, as opposed to Angelina sitting at home, becoming a major fan of Survivor and pulling strings (???) to get into the reunion party. LMAO. F–k it, maybe that is a better story – alone and desperate, the Villainess Jolie becomes an avid consumer of reality TV. She stans for Survivor, Vanderpump Rules and, of course, the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham have a baby on the way. The couple is really excited and they are getting married later this month. Now, they are revealing the gender of their baby and fans couldn’t be happier. E! News shared details about how they let everyone know.

The couple had an amazing gender reveal photo shoot. They shared the pictures with pink smoke and balloons all over announcing that they are having a little girl. This will be the first child for both. They were not planning this pregnancy, but they are both very happy about it all.

The couple did an early gender test online and it told them that they were having a boy. They were convinced of that at first, but then they found out that wasn’t the case at all. Instead, their new baby is going to be a little girl. Here is what the couple shared about what the ultrasound tech told them.

“Well. I’m about 98 percent.’ So I still wasn’t convinced after the first time we saw it. We went back to the doctor, went back a few other times and just went back for our anatomy scan. It’s definitely a girl!”

Lauren Burnham revealed that she is a lot more confident about the idea of being a mom to a girl as she is a first-time mom. You never know what Lauren and Arie will have with their next child or if they will even have more in the future.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham did tease that they filmed a gender reveal for The Bachelor. You can assume this might air on Colton Underwood’s premiere next week, but they didn’t give the details just yet. Their baby is due in June of this year.

On January 12, Lauren Burnham and Arie Luyendyk Jr. will be getting married! This has been the big wedding date they had planned for a while. When they found out that Lauren was expecting, they kept the exact same wedding date. Of course, Lauren had to get fit for her dress a few more times to make sure that it would fit her perfect.

Kobe Bryant and Wife Vanessa Announce They are Expecting for the Fourth Time…And it’s Another Girl!

Kobe Bryant is a daddy’s girl! The retired basketball player announced on Tuesday, January 1 that he and his wife Vanessa are expecting their fourth daughter.

The 40-year-old NBA star and 36-year-old former backup dancer Vanessa are already parents to their three daughters, Natalia, 15, Gianna, 12, and 2-year-old Bianka.

Kobe posted on his Instagram a festive gold sign that read, “New Year, New Baby! Baby Mamba on the Way 2019.” The super athlete wrote alongside the post, “Vanessa and I are beyond excited to announce that we are expecting another #mambacita to go along with Natalia, Gianna and Bianca.”

Kobe fans have anticipated that the basketball legend and his wife would try for baby number four in hopes for a boy so Kobe could pass on his legacy. But believe it or not, Kobe wasn’t the one hoping to trade in pink for blue.

The 6-foot-6 basketball giant revealed in a 2017 interview with Extra that his wife Vanessa was campaigning for a fourth child in hopes that it would be a boy. “I hear boys are just walking tornadoes. We’ll see,” he told Extra. “I think Vanessa wants a boy more than I do.”

But don’t rule out one of Kobe’s daughters to take to the court someday. In January 2018 Kobe revealed to Jimmy Kimmel that his daughter Natalia has the perfect comeback when fans ask her father when he will have a son. “The best thing that happens is we’ll go out, and fans will come up to me and she’ll be standing next to me,” Kobe said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! At the time. “And they’ll be like, ‘Hey, you gotta have a boy. You and Vanessa gotta have a boy to carry on the tradition, the legacy. And she is like, ‘Oy, I got this. You don’t need a boy for that, I got this.’ I’m like, ‘That’s right, you got this.’
