The Queen is generous. This is the season of giving. She knows how thirsty we are for new – anything new: new songs, new photos, new outfits. Whatever it is that she wants to share, we are here to receive it.
Yesterday Beyoncé posted to her website lots and lots of new pictures of her in India, …
Christmas 2016 was notable for several reasons. For one, Queen Elizabeth had a really bad, lingering cold, and she missed a lot of royal Christmas-festivities that year, for the first time ever. It was also notable because the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent Christmas in Bucklebury, with Kate’s family, and they basically organized their own “royal Middleton Christmas” stroll to the local church. A lot of people noted that it was almost like William and Kate were telling the world that they had their own separate court, away from Prince Charles and away from the Queen. Their royal court was the Bucklebury Court, with the Middletons at the center.
But then time passed. Meghan Markle came on the scene. And I don’t think we should underestimate how Meghan’s entrance has fundamentally changed the familial dynamics of Charles and his sons. Suddenly, William and Kate are absolutely more “keen” to spend time with Charles, where they used to shun him. And now it seems like the Bucklebury Court is going to be less of a “thing” going forward:
Sticking with Sandringham. Prince William and Duchess Kate will no longer switch off between spending Christmas with the royals and the Middleton family, an insider tells Us Weekly exclusively.
“Moving forward, Kate and William will continue to do Sandringham every Christmas Eve and Day as opposed to alternating like they used to,” the insider reveals, noting that the pair will “visit the Middleton in Berkshire later in the festive season.”
“That’s the plan this year too,” the insider continues. “With the queen and Philip’s advancing ages, skipping years isn’t an option anymore.”
[From Us Weekly]
I think this IS about the Queen’s age and Philip’s age. But I also think it’s about other stuff too. I said months ago that the Cambridges would be especially keen to spend Christmas at Sandringham this year, mostly because they would not want Meghan and Harry to get all of the headlines for the Christmas Day church-walk. And now it looks like that’s the plan going forward – Meghan and Harry will never get a chance to enjoy a royal Christmas without William and Kate.

Netflix announced last week that To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was one of its three most re-watched original movies of 2018. The other two are Roxanne, Roxanne (about Roxanne Shanté, which is in my queue for the holidays) and The Kissing Booth (which is trash but who am I to judge, I sat through…
Just know that when I read the headline about “what the Duchess of Cornwall gives the Queen for Christmas,” my first thought was “please let it be chutney!” I so want a Chutney-Off for Royal Christmas. I want Duchess Kate to bring her carefully packed jar of chutney to Christmas at Sandringham, only to find that Camilla has brought two jars of HER chutney. But no, Camilla isn’t bringing chutney to Sandringham. She’s bringing posh honey! I love this story, because I’ve always been fascinated by beekeepers. Camilla has an apiary!
It’s the million-dollar question for every Royal at this time of year. What do you give at Christmas to the family that has everything? But Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has a novel idea for her mother-in-law the Queen and daughters-in-law Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. She keeps bees in her private house in Wiltshire and makes limited edition honey from the hives.
Meghan and Kate are keen cooks and would certainly love a jar or two of the sweet stuff. The honey also raises money for good causes. Every year Camilla, 71, sends 500 jars of the limited edition products to posh grocers Fortnum and Mason. This year the proceeds from the £20 pots are going to Helen & Douglas House, a children’s hospice in Oxford. Camilla has also invited children and their families from the hospice to a special Christmas tea party at Clarence House at the start of next month. The Duchess is patron of Helen & Douglas House, which does amazing work looking after terminally-ill children.
Camilla has had bee hives in her Ray Mill House garden for a number of years – and has sold honey for charity for the last four years. The honey is described as ‘light and delicate with an irresistible sweet caramel flavour – perfect spread on toast or drizzled over porridge’.
[From The Sun]
Camilla has always been a “countrywoman,” in the sense that she’s more comfortable out of London, when she can be around her horses, her dogs and her bees. I think it’s extremely cool that Camilla keeps hives, and that she makes limited edition honey to gift to friends and to raise money for charity. And yes, I would love to taste Camilla’s posh, charitable honey.

Just FYI, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a quiet visit to the Hubb Community Kitchen yesterday. There were no photos, and the stop seems to have only been announced after the fact. There was one photo of Adele, who apparently stopped by around the same time. Now I want photos of Adele, Harry and Meghan cooking together with the Hubb Kitchen ladies.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan visited the Hubb Community Kitchen on Thursday. And they weren’t the only familiar faces at @almanaar — #Justice4Grenfell supporter @Adele stopped by too!

Anyway, the fact that Meghan and Harry added this visit onto their schedule just before Christmas is pretty interesting. One, they don’t look like they’re in a hurry to get to Sandringham. Two, they’re doing things their own way… while they can. People Magazine has another part of their cover story this week, where “sources” talk about how Meghan has… ambitions. And the courtiers keep telling her she can’t do sh-t.
Meghan Markle is the first American to marry into the British royal family since Wallis Simpson in 1937 — and since her wedding to Prince Harry in May, there have been tensions that some insiders blame on a culture clash. Veteran royal aides “might not be used to the ‘say-it-as-you-see-it’ American mentality,” a palace insider tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story.
Meghan, 37, has yet to announce which patronages she will back as a member of the royal family, but it’s clear she has ambitions to advance education and empowerment for women and young girls around the world. Her first solo project as the Duchess of Sussex – a cookbook launched to support a community kitchen – spearheaded that cause.
“The palace is a magical place, and it is also a place where all you hear is ‘no, no, no,’ ” a source in royal circles says of the confining rules that govern royal life. Adds a source close to the family: “The most difficult job in the royal family is to work with Meghan’s ambitions and make them realizable. She will get frustrated if she is told, ‘You can’t do this or can’t do that.’ ”
Kate Middleton, on the other hand, “has maneuvered herself in a different way, but she is still strong.” William and Kate “have created their own nest, and they are confident in what they’re doing,” says the insider.
[From People]
The royal courtiers are like Goldilocks – they have one duchess who does too little and one duchess who does too much, and they’re just looking for a duchess who does just the right amount. I’m really starting to believe that a good chunk of the smear campaign isn’t even coming from Charles or William or Kate, it’s coming from these fussy courtiers who have never encountered an American woman with a Type-A personality and a work ethic. The courtiers are experiencing such culture shock, and so they’re doing what they always do – try to clip a royal woman’s wings in the press. I can’t wait for Harry and Meghan to hire some staffers dedicated to their interests, who understand “chain of command.”

It feels like Josh Duhamel and Fergie split years and years ago, but their split only happened in 2017. Reportedly, their divorce was pretty amicable, and there doesn’t seem to be any drama over custody of their son Axl. Fergie and Josh have joint custody, and to his credit (?), Josh seems like a good dad who prioritizes his son. I think we knew during Josh and Fergie’s marriage that he wanted more kids and she really didn’t. Well, as it turns out, maybe that was a factor in their split, and now his big priority is finding some young, fertile woman to have his babies:
Josh Duhamel is ready to be a dad again after his divorce from Fergie.
“I’m not 30 years old anymore,” he told Dax Sherpard on his “Armchair Expert” podcast on Thursday. “I’m 45. I want to have more kids in the next few years…So it’s more about finding someone young enough to have kids. It’s not as if I’m out there trying to just f–k anything. That’s not who I am. I’m trying to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with.”
Duhamel split from the “Double Duchess” singer, 43, in 2017 after 13 years together. They welcomed their son, Axl Jack, 5, during their eight-year marriage.
The “Transformers” star was most recently linked to Eiza Gonzales, 28, but they broke up in July.
“Fergie and I had a great relationship,” he said on the podcast. “I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately, we didn’t work. But I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby.”
[From Page Six]
Is this gross or is it just honest? If a woman said “my priority is finding a young mate who will have babies with me,” wouldn’t we applaud her for knowing her own mind and making her own priorities? But yeah, it comes across as slightly skeevy and gross when it’s a 45-year-old man talking about finding someone “young enough” to have kids with him. What’s also gross is that I bet a lot of women hear that and go “aw, I’ll have your babies!” Ugh.

Here are some photos of Queen Elizabeth traveling by train to Norfolk on Thursday. Wednesday was her big Christmas luncheon at Buckingham Palace, and she usually travels the day after to Sandringham. There are a few unusual things about these photos – for one, the Queen usually loves to wear bright colors, even in the dead of winter, so it feels noteworthy that she’s in this brown coat. Also notable? Prince Philip didn’t travel with his wife. He also arrived separately by car to Buckingham Palace on Wednesday for the Christmas lunch. My question: are Liz and Phil living separate lives??
Do you think the Queen is worried about all of the drama and petty squabbles involving Prince William, Prince Harry and their wives? Vanity Fair would have us believe that she was concerned about Meghan’s father enough to order the courtiers to try to do something, only to have Meghan try to manage it on her own. Still, I’m guessing that the Queen will try to enjoy her Christmas holiday with her extended family – she reportedly asked to be surrounded by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren this year.
One last thing: for Christmas, the Buckingham Palace pastry chefs shared their tips for royally perfect gingerbread cookies. Apparently, the Queen doesn’t like gingerbread cookies in the shape of men – she prefers the cookies in the shape of hearts, stars and bells.

Whenever I think of Andy Cohen these days, I think of Kathy Griffin’s pointed comments about how Cohen and Harvey Levin live to take women down, that they’re two of the biggest misogynists out there. Griffin’s comments tainted whatever mild interest I had in Cohen, quite honestly. But Cohen is well-liked and well-respected as a producer and host of Watch What Happens Live, and he continues to get bigger and better gigs – he’s even co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s special with Anderson Cooper again this year. Anyway, Cohen has some good news to share: he’s going to be a father. He will be welcoming a child via surrogacy.
Andy Cohen can add another title to his resume: Father. The Bravo host announced that he’s welcoming a baby via surrogate during his late night show, “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” on Thursday night.
“I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time, I’m going to become a father thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future,” Cohen shared with the audience.
In the late night show’s final broadcast of 2018, the 50-year-old acknowledged that he’s typically a transparent person and is continuing be an open book as he ventures into fatherhood.
“Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something I’ve wanted in my heart for my entire life,” he said. “While it has taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be my most rewarding chapter yet.”
Directly addressing his Bravo fans, he said, “This has been an incredible, joyous journey with you all. I am grateful to live my dream everyday and grateful to you for coming along for the ride. I don’t take any of it for granted.”

Congratulations? Maybe I’m being too harsh, maybe he’ll be an amazing father. He’s rich, he’s has tons of access to the best resources, and I’m sure this child will be loved and cared for. Cohen didn’t mention whether he has a partner/boyfriend, and I don’t think he does? He broke up with his 30-year-old boyfriend back in March of this year, and I don’t think he’s been seeing anyone seriously since then. Becoming a single father by choice at the age of 50… it’s unusual, but it also strikes me that he must really want this, which means he’s exactly who *should* become a father.
