Over the weekend, Cardi B headlined the Rolling Loud concert. That would have been a great story, just one more feather in her cap for her excellent and newsworthy 2018. Unfortunately, Cardi’s estranged husband stalked her at her job and decided to come out on stage and try to emotionally manipulate her into taking him back. We talked about all of this yesterday, and honestly, it still upsets me that Offset did that to Cardi and that people are still like “oooh, she should take him back, that’s so romantic!” Bullsh-t. What’s also really bad about this situation is that Offset coordinated this mess with Cardi’s people WITHOUT HER KNOWLEDGE. Cardi’s publicist was in on it:
Offset poured his heart out over the weekend, begging Cardi B in the middle of her Rolling Loud concert to take him back, but there’s something that surfaced in a video that makes it look like the whole thing was staged, but Cardi is calling BS. As TMZ reported, Offset appeared onstage — seemingly out of nowhere — with a cart of roses that spelled out the words, “Take Me Back Cardi.” Seems sincere enough … that is, until you watch this video of Offset making his way to the stage. Look closely at the woman with the red hair. Her name is Patientce, and she’s Cardi’s P.R. rep. The question … if this were a love ambush, why is Patientce leading the way for Offset?
As improbable as it seems, Cardi insists this was not a WWE-type moment. Sources connected to Cardi say Patientce is way more than a public relations manager — she’s family, to both her and Offset. Sources close to both Patientce and Cardi tell TMZ, Patientce strongly believes Cardi is still in love with Offset and does not want to pull the plug on their marriage. She is close to Cardi and Offset, she was sort of a Henry Kissinger (Google it) and brought him onstage to open the door to a reconciliation. We’re told Cardi really didn’t know Offset was coming onstage and she was clearly very upset, but it was Patientce’s way of trying to make things right.
[From TMZ]
Fans on Twitter had already pointed out that Cardi’s publicist Patientce was the one to lead Offset on stage, and those fans cited that as “proof” that the whole thing is some kind of set-up and that Offset and Cardi are just doing this for attention. I still don’t believe Cardi was in on this at all – I think she had many reasons for ending it with Offset, including his serial infidelity, and now she’s stuck in a really f–ked up position where the people around her are trying to convince her to get back together with the toxic douchebag she already tossed aside.
Personally, I think Cardi needs to FIRE EVERYBODY and start again with some people who know what they’re doing. But for now, Cardi is trying to keep the peace among her staff, and she made an Instagram Live video defending Patientce, saying “That’s my bitch. That’s my homie. That’s like my big sister, she’s not like any other publicist. She’s my friend. She has taken my husband and my sister as a client and she has helped us a lot. Yeah, sometimes she does a little bit more, you wanna know why? Because we are a family and she cares about my family. I’m not gonna let y’all drag her. I don’t give a f—…I will never let y’all disrespect people this close to me.” Oh, Cardi. THIS IS BUSINESS. And your publicist works for you, you don’t work for your publicist. She f–ked up and you should fire her.

Octomom Nadya Suleman has a new profile in The NY Times. To her credit, we haven’t heard about her in years, her kids are still in her care, all 14 of them, and the octuplets are in fourth grade and thriving. Nadya has a very slippery relationship with the truth. I’ve covered her since she shot to fame and she regularly lied, grifted and scammed. The author of this profile alludes to Nadya’s slippery relationship with the truth without calling her out. In Nadya’s mind everything is someone else’s fault – it was her doctor’s fault for implanting her with more embryos than she knew about (her former publicist swears it was Nadya’s idea in a bid to get famous), she was a caricature created by the tabloids and she has a bunch of health problems but she won’t take medication because she is vegan and considers pharmaceuticals poison. It’s hard to follow her train of thought, but that’s how she’s always been. Here’s some of the interview, with more at the source.
Public interest eventually waned, and tasked with caring for so many, Ms. Suleman said, she turned to booze and Xanax from 2011 to 2013, before briefly checking into rehab. During this time, friends and family helped take care of the children.
She was pretending to be that person
“I was pretending to be a fake, a caricature, which is something I’m not, and I was doing it out of desperation and scarcity so I could provide for my family,” she said on the phone in October. “I’ve been hiding from the real world all my life.”
“I was the classic victim,” Ms. Suleman said at her home in November, a day before the worst wildfire in California history turned the skies red. A victim of having an alcoholic father, she said, a victim of having been an only child, hungry to fill that void. A victim of fate since she couldn’t conceive naturally. Most of all, she said, “I was misled by my doctor.”
“He told me we lost six embryos, he said they were expelled out of me, and that’s why he wanted to implant another six,” said Ms. Suleman, who grew up in nearby Fullerton, Calif. She has a B.S. in child development and worked for a state mental hospital for three years before suffering an injury that resulted in over $80,000 in disability payments. A subsequent family inheritance of $60,000 helped fund her IVF.
Dr. Kamrava has said she pressured him into the multiple rounds of implants, an accusation echoed recently by David Shofet, a rabbi and a childhood friend of the doctor.
She claims she never wanted the attention
“I was selfish and immature,” said Ms. Suleman, now 43. She doesn’t admit fault, she wouldn’t change the past, she loves her angels too much. But she admits to an ever-consuming “need for more.”
“I never wanted the attention,” she said, somewhat contradictorily. She said that hospital staff breached her records and sold her out to the media: “There were helicopters flying over the hospital while I was giving birth.”
Her answers kept zigzagging.
“I have PTSD from all the reporters coming in over the years. I would take whatever I could back in the days, and I would let them in. I was spiraling down a dark hole. There were no healthy opportunities for Octomom. I was doing what I was told to do and saying what I was told to say. When you’re pretending to be something you’re not, at least for me, you end up falling on your face.”
“Octomom was media created. I believe most media is filtered and fake. They created this caricature…”
“I’m a raw vegan, and I perceive pharmaceuticals to be poison.” she said. She relies on prayer, and home exercise. “If I didn’t climb 40 miles a week on the StairMaster, which acts as a buffer, then I’d be completely incapacitated.”
I came away from this really wondering how she copes on a daily basis. It sounds like her 16 year-old daughter does a lot of the work and like the 9 year-old octuplets fend for themselves too. She doesn’t sound like she’s changed too much, but given that we haven’t heard from her in so long she must have. She went to rehab in 2013 for alcohol and Xanax so maybe much of her abrasive personality was due to addiction and pills. I didn’t miss her. I’m just glad her kids are ok.
The caption on the post below where she’s on the stairmaster (I’m not including it, you can see it on Instagram) goes into her physical ailments. She is such a pretentious writer.

Mark Hamill just makes me smile. I happy to see him back in the headlines and he’s having a blast with the attention. The poor guy had so many requests for birthday tweets, he had to stop doing them because he was afraid of missing people. (But, of course, it’s Mark, so he made a series of badges for his fans to post to their wall for their special day. Someone made an official Twitter page for them).
Mark also regularly posts his devotion to his wife, kids and grand-dogs (Ron Howard and Kevin Bacon always post their grand-dogs too, it warms my cold heart) . Sunday, Mark posted this to his Instagram and Twitter in honor of his 40th anniversary with his wife, Marilou Hamill:

Marilou and Mark married in 1978. Just for reference, Star Wars: A New Hope, that catapulted Mark to fame, was released in 1977. There was a lot stacked against them as a couple. I don’t remember ever reading anything about their marriage being on the rocks, either. The reason for that may be that they got that out of their system before they married. Apparently, Mark left Marilou to sow his wild oats before coming to his senses and winning her back.
Mark and Marilou called it quits as he became a household name. “I had to taste groupies and fame,” he explained. “I went to Las Vegas to date 38-year-old showgirls. I wanted to scale all these women. That was exciting for about the first 10 minutes. Eventually, I wanted something to hold onto — and a family.”
Marilou “kept busy” during their stretch apart, she said. “I ran my own life. But all the time I thought I was good for him, so I was hoping we’d get back together.”
In April, Marilou told Good Morning America about how she and Mark have kept their love strong in the spotlight. “We don’t live in town, so we don’t go in and do all the party circuits,” she said.
[From People]
It sounds like what worked for them is Marilou put more energy into Mark the man and not Mark the movie star. She just kept on with her life and didn’t give it all up just because she was dating a celebrity. And I love that it only took Mark a New York Minute to realize Marilou > Groupies. I have reminded you all repeatedly that I am not generally a romantic person but I 100% believe in love and I’m glad Mark recognized that’s what he had with Marilou. Can you imagine how many people were telling him not to get married at that stage of his career? Good for him and good for Marilou for keeping him grounded.
Happy Ruby Anniversary, Marilou and Mark!

CBS CEO Les Moonves was outed as a serial predator and serial sexual harasser over the summer. Ronan Farrow dropped the first exposé in July, and from there, the stories were coming out in a steady stream. Moonves not only assaulted, abused and harassed dozens of women throughout his tenure on CBS, he also oversaw a top-down management style in which women’s stories and women storytellers were denigrated and ignored, where “bros before hos” was company policy, where all women were seen as disposable. Moonves was terminated, only the terms of his exit were still being negotiated. Would he get a severance package? Well, over the past five months, CBS and Les Moonves have undergone a massive internal investigation into what happened. And the results of the investigation have been dropping in bits and pieces, and now it seems that Moonves isn’t going to get ANY of the “exit package” money.
Leslie Moonves will not be getting his $120 million severance, as CBS concluded after a months-long investigation that there is, indeed, merit to numerous claims that its former CEO sexually harassed several women over the course of decades. Word came of the decision Monday via a statement from CBS, and few were surprised. Only weeks earlier, several Wall Street analysts said they’d be shocked if the company paid Moonves the money it had set aside for him after he stepped down Sept. 9.
“With regard to Mr. Moonves, we have determined that there are grounds to terminate for cause, including his willful and material misfeasance, violation of Company policies and breach of his employment contract, as well as his willful failure to cooperate fully with the Company’s investigation. Mr. Moonves will not receive any severance payment from the Company,” the board announced.
CBS hired an investigative team that interviewed as many as 300 people, according to insiders, in order to get to the bottom of the allegations against Moonves after Ronan Farrow listed a half-dozen accusers in The New Yorker on July 27. Since he stepped down as CEO, Moonves has been an unpaid adviser to CBS, with the company supplying him an office and security detail. That arrangement was set to last until September 2020. While CBS did not address his status as an unpaid adviser on Monday, it may be terminating that deal, as well.
The separation agreement between Moonves and CBS stipulated he’d only get the $120 million if an investigation cleared him of egregious behavior. The company also said at the time it was earmarking $20 million to donate to a variety of organizations dedicated to stamping out sexual harassment.
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
So, they fired him for cause and he’s not getting the $120 million exit package… but it’s not clear if he’ll be able to retain his office, his “consultant” title or his CBS-paid security? Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but that’s unacceptable. I’m glad CBS isn’t paying him the $120 million, but good God, cut the cord. There is no need to keep him around in any capacity.

The holidays are going to be a little extra special this year for RHOC alum Gretchen Rossi and her fiancé Slade Smiley. The 40-year-old reality star revealed she and Smiley are expecting their first child.
Rossi began the IVF route four years ago and the couple announced their joyous baby news on an episode of The Doctors that aired Monday, December, 17.

“These symptoms, I gotta tell you. Man, like I swear, they lie to you about morning sickness. It’s all day sickness,” Rossi admitted.
But the former Bravo star will gladly deal with some morning sickness after the rocky journey she endured while dealing with infertility. There was even a point that Rossi didn’t even know if it was going to happen for her and Smiley. “There was plenty of times during the process that we were like, ‘Is this ever going to happen? Is this ever going to come to fruition?’”

Smiley also admitted it was hard for him to see his partner “suffer” throughout the process.
Gretchen Rossi opened up in an interview in February with Us Weekly about undergoing IVF. “Physically it was difficult on my body. It’s funny because when you get pregnant, and you gain weight, it feels worth it because at the end, you have a baby. But when I went through IVF, I gained 10 pounds within three weeks and I’ve never done that before in my life. I got cellulite in places that I’ve never had cellulite before.”
The reality couple got engaged during season 8 of RHOC. Smiley, 45, popped the question during a romantic helicopter ride. So the big question is when are the two going to walk down the aisle and make it official?
“We’re really content. We’re really happy,” Rossi told Us in February. “I think that one day we definitely want to get married, but right now we’re just focusing on starting a family so we just don’t want to put the money and the sources into a wedding.”

Here’s a slightly controversial question about parties and, sometimes, even weddings: is it a good party if… no drama goes down? Where does 2018’s breakout heartthrob go for an Instagram-able vacation? Somewhere he can take his shirt off, for sure, but it also has to have a cool factor. With lots of trees or poles to climb, of course.
