I’m not sure how I feel about the Duchess of Sussex doing so many unannounced trips the past few weeks. On one side, Meghan seems to be taking a step back and letting the Cambridges have their moment (which I suspect was the partly the short-term goal of the smear campaign). On the other side, I think all of us who like Meghan a lot want to see more of her. So she managed to find a way to do an unannounced event AND get lots of attention: the Duchess of Sussex attended last night’s British Fashion Awards. Rosamund Pike came out on stage and introduced Meghan, and Meghan got to announce a special award:

That’s really nice. Obviously, Meghan wore Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy to the event. It appears to be a simple black velvet gown with one shoulder, and the fit is exquisite. Meghan proudly embraced her bump while Keller accepted her award.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s “friend” spoke to Katie Nicholl about the Thomas Markle situation, and how Meghan still has that motherf–ker canceled:

A friend close to Meghan says that, once again, Thomas Markle’s efforts to make a connection through the press have likely backfired. “I understand there has been one conversation between Meghan and her dad since the wedding, when Meghan made it clear that they could only have a relationship if he kept his silence,” the friend told Vanity Fair. “She told him that he couldn’t speak to the press, plain and simple. But he keeps doing that, and so she feels that she cannot trust him.”

The friend continued, “She has also said if they are to have a relationship, then he has to cut off contact with the rest of his family, including Samantha, who Meghan blames for a lot of the problems with her father. The thing is, whatever Samantha has done, she is still Thomas’s daughter, so that’s a hard call. And as for speaking to the press, he says he doesn’t know how else to get Meghan’s attention.”

Sounds about right – Meghan isn’t going to suddenly start speaking to Thomas because he’s giving another damn interview to the Daily Mail, or The Sun, or to Good Morning Britain or whatever else. She told him what he needed to do, and he refuses. So she refuses to engage with his toxic bulls–t.

Here are some photos from last night’s British Fashion Awards, which turned out to be a major moment for British fashion and British gossip. The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance to present an award to her wedding gown designer (which I’ve covered separately), but even if Meghan hadn’t come out, the BFAs still got a really good turnout this year. Kaia Gerber was there with her family – mom Cindy Crawford, dad Rande Gerber, and brother Presley Gerber. I still think Kaia is missing that It Factor, and I still think she has a few more years until she grows into her looks and her body. But whatever, Kaia is the New Big Thing. She wore Alexander McQueen.

Kate Moss looked so happy, I almost didn’t recognize her! The dress seems out of character too.

Kendall Jenner in Julien Macdonald. If this had really good lining, it would be an amazing dress.

I usually don’t like the “fish scales” kind of fashion, but Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Givenchy is STUNNING.

Lana Del Rey in Gucci, still bringing her witchy energy, even though the dress is quite awful.

Penélope Cruz in Chanel Haute Couture. Chanel dresses are always the wrong length, have you noticed that? It’s like the “signature” of Chanel.

Kristin Scott Thomas was a glorious trainwreck in this Valentino sack.

Rita Ora in Prada. Yawn. And please don’t tell me visible knee-high hosiery is now chic.

Oh, Victoria Beckham. Always with the head tilt, like tilting one’s head can save a marriage.

I haven’t seen Dumplin’ yet but I want to – I ‘ve heard a lot of good things about it. I’m supposed to wait for my daughter to see it but I can get an appointment at the DMV sooner than find a hole is her schedule. In the meantime, I’ll just have to settle for Jennifer Aniston working the talk-show circuit to promote it, which is fine by me, especially when she appears with Dolly Parton. Jennifer and Dolly swung by The Late Show with James Cordon. While there, James seemingly broke the news to Jennifer that Netflix had just paid $100M to keep Friends reruns up for one more year. Naturally, this led to a discussion about the possibility of a Friends reboot. According to Jennifer, “the girls” are all for it but it’s “the boys” that are the holdout. To hurry past any more speculation, Jennifer proposed that Monica, Phoebe and Rachel put out their own Golden Girl-esque show.

I don’t think they will ever reboot Friends. I really hope they won’t. I agree with Lisa Kudrow that the story just wouldn’t work now. All but Joey are married and/or with kids. If they were all still hanging out together all the time, we’d find them sad and neglectful parents. I loved Will & Grace when it was at its height and gave the reboot a try but I had to stop, it was ruining my fondness for the original show. The one episode I watched of the Murphy Brown update did the same. Just watching Friends reruns through today’s lens points out its flaws and foibles, rebooting it would surely kill my crush. But I also wonder if the cast really does want it to happen. I never get the impression they do. I know they, the women especially, like working together but they’ve all appeared on each other’s shows so they can continue that and the occasional skit. I think their ‘desire’ to do a reboot is lip service for the fans. I don’t hate the idea of a Golden Friends show with the three women. Maybe they could propose that in like, 20 years.

Since I have no desire for a Friends reboot, I would far prefer to hear about the haunted apartment Jennifer lived in when she first moved in to LA. She told a skeptical James that they even brought in a ghost hunter who found out the ghost hated Jennifer’s roommate – so Jennifer moved out. There’s your reboot idea – have the Golden Friends move into a bungalow with a ghost who serves as the fourth roommate.

Here are some photos of Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie at the London premiere of Mary Queen of Scots. Neither woman really killed it sartorially, but if you’re making me choose, I’ll say that Margot’s Rodarte gown and Marilyn-styling is more pleasing and glamorous. I don’t know what Saoirse was thinking with her Carolina Herrera look though. A month ago, I thought (and some other people might have thought too) that Mary Queen of Scots would be in the conversation for some big awards. So far, nothing much is happening – the film was completely shut out of the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards. Maybe Margot and Saoirse’s fashion choices reflect that too – they’re just kind of phoning it in.

I’m also including some premiere photos of Jack Lowden too – he’s their costar, and he plays Lord Darnley, who is Mary’s bisexual husband. Obviously, he had a lot of scenes with Saoirse. And love blossomed:

Irish beauty Saoirse Ronan is dating her “Mary Queen of Scots” co-star Jack Lowden, Page Six has exclusively learned. The 24-year-old three-time Oscar nominee Ronan turned up with hunky Lowden, 28, at a celebrity screening of their new movie Tuesday night, and they looked extremely close at the after-party at Tavern on the Green, sources said.

“Jack was following her all over,” said a source. “He even followed her to the bathroom and was waiting outside for her. They were very close.”

In “Mary Queen of Scots,” Lowden — who previously starred in “Dunkirk” — plays Ronan’s on-screen husband Lord Darnley, a bisexual cheater with an unfortunate fate. Off-screen, Ronan was at first believed to be dating Lowden’s ballet dancer brother Calum after they met at the BAFTAs this year. But more recently, eagle-eyed fans have spotted Ronan with Jack on vacation in the Dominican Republic and other spots. A movie source told us of Ronan and Jack: “We don’t know when they got together, we only found out on Tuesday night when they rolled up together — but they seem very happy and sweet.”

This is the first time I’ve even heard about Saoirse dating ANYONE, which means she’s either incredibly discreet, or a workaholic who rarely dates, or both. Jack recently had a big, ginger beard, but he seems to have shaved it in just the past week. He’s nice looking. I hope he treats Saoirse like a queen.

Maybe it’s my age but when a celebrity posts a photo of themselves in various states of undress, my eyes always go to the background before I look at them. That’s where the interesting stuff happens, right? Especially in closets, I check the wardrobe long before I look at whatever body part they’re showing off. Which is why it took me a while to see Drake in the selfie he posted to his Instagram stories over the weekend because even though he’s wearing very little, OMG – look at that bathroom:

I understand I’m supposed to drool over his physique but I can’t get over the room where he brushes his teeth! And it’s so clean. Oh yeah, and there’s a guy in it trying to get my attention by pulling his shorts down just a bit too far. Drake is currently on vacation in the Turks & Caicos. He also posted this short vid of himself in the pool, in which he seems to be sporting a black eye. He’s not naming the resort in his posts so these aren’t spon con, this is just a straight up thirst trap. I believe what we are supposed to be looking at is his new owl tattoo by artist Inal Bersekov – that giant swath of ink across his chest. According to a spokesperson, Bersekov worked on it for 12 hours, but it’s not finished yet. So, I guess this is a preview? An owl is the symbol of Drake’s OVO label. He has the official Ovo owl on his back. This new owl is catching a mouse. I’m not going to try to figure out what it means. Look at that face he’s making in the photo. Is he having a hard time figuring out his camera or is he trying to look like a James Bond villain? Or maybe he’s trying to remember the symbolism of why his owl tattoo is catching a mouse. Either way, it’s all overshadowed by that gorgeous marble shower that I, luckily, don’t have to clean.

Maybe Drake is just celebrating his latest wins. He came in second to Kendrick Lamar for the most Grammy nominations. Plus, it was just announced that Drake is the top-selling solo male artist of all-time in America, which I find really hard to believe but still, congratulations. So I understand if Drake was feeling himself and wanted to show off with a half-naked selfie. I’m just here for the bathroom pr0n and photos like this that show off his view:

It’s a boy! Once Upon a Time actress, Emilie De Ravin and husband Eric Bilitch announced they welcomed a baby boy on Sunday, December 9.

De Ravin revealed the happy news via Instagram announcing the details of her newest addition. Posting a picture of her precious baby boy she wrote alongside the post, “Theodore Kubrick de Ravin-Bilitch was born at home on December 9th. Welcome to the world beautiful boy! We’re so excited you’re finally out here to play with us! We love you so so much Theo xoxoxo.”

Happy Birthday my love. We love you so much & are so lucky to have you in our lives. Here’s to a wonderful year ahead for you! xoxo ??@ericbilitch

Bilitch posted the same picture writing, “Mum was amazing, Vera is thrilled to be a big sister, and we’re all very in love with baby Theo!”

De Ravin, 36, and her film director husband are also parents to Vera, 2.

On October 3rd the Australian native admitted on an Instagram video that she was over being pregnant, “Trying to sleep . . . but my belly tenant has a different plan,” she joked showing an ultrasound that she had changed, in which a baby was seen punching around in boxing gloves.

The actress announced in June that she and her hubby were expecting for the second time. “Eric and I could not be more excited to share our happy news with ya’ll & Vera is over the moon about becoming a big sister!” she wrote on Instagram.

The proud mama shared with her fans on Twitter that her daughter Vera was starting preschool and admitted that she was emotional about the big milestone. “I’m so proud of her, she was so excited & gave me a huge hug & kiss goodbye,” the star told her Twitter followers. “Then I went to my car and cried.”

De Ravin and Bilitch tied the knot in 2016 after dating for two years.
