Jennifer Lopez is at the top of her game – and she knows it. After working her famous booty off for nearly 30 years, she’s not afraid to celebrate her success. She covers our December issue in @MaisonValentino couture. Read her full interview at the link in bio! I Photographed by @Anthony.Maule; Styled by @JuliePelipas

Jennifer Lopez covers the December issue of InStyle to promote Second Act, the cute-looking comedy where a simple outer-borough girl ends up pretending to have an Ivy League education and she ends up in a high-powered Manhattan job. It’s like a Cinderella story, only it’s about a woman’s career. In this interview, Jennifer is sort of reflective of that other path, the road she would have taken if she had never left the Bronx and become a global superstar. She’s also feeling reflective because she turns 50 years old in the next year. Which is a big deal. You can read the full InStyle piece here, and here are some highlights:
The road not taken: “If I didn’t have certain ambitions, I might have gotten married after high school and had kids and decided to get a job at a bank in Castle Hill, like my aunt did. It’s just that I had dreams and ideas that were different.”
Time’s Up: “It has taken time, but I think we’re in a very powerful moment where women are going, ‘Wait a minute. We’re not afraid to say what we deserve.’”
The importance of being a multi-hyphenate: “I don’t understand why you can’t be an actress and a singer and dancer as well. Like, that’s how this whole business started. Entertainment! And why can’t you be funny and also be a dramatic actress? OK, some people can’t do both. But if they can, let them!”
She thinks the Bennifer days were worse than the tabloid media today: “It was actually worse then. It was just crazy. Now at least I can show you who I am a little bit. Back then you just believed anything you read on the cover of a tabloid. Many times it wasn’t true, or it was like a third of the truth.” She acknowledges that young actors now face a whole new set of selfie-driven anxieties, “but they didn’t live through the tabloid era. Now I sound like my mom. ‘I used to walk uphill to school, before there were cars!’?”
Her relationship with A-Rod: “When we met, we’d both already done a lot of work on ourselves. Everybody has flaws, and the people I want in my life are the people who recognize that and are willing to work on those flaws. It’s super-important: someone who’s willing to look at themselves and say, ‘OK, I’m not great here’ or ‘I could do better there.’?”
Whether she’s feeling her age: Failing memory, flagging energy? Nope and nope. But she does throw me a few bones. Lopez has noticed that she’s been squinting at her phone lately, so she might need reading glasses soon. The middle of her back hurts occasionally. And she’s introduced weight training to her fitness routine after realizing that she now loses muscle whenever she dances too much. But mostly, she credits her looks to the wholesome habits she’s maintained throughout adulthood: no caffeine, no alcohol, lots of sleep. “I’ve taken care of myself, and now it shows,” she says.
She’s still hood: “It’s what I still often wear to this day, the big hoops and, you know, gold jewelry. I always like to mix the glam with a bit of the hood.”
[From InStyle]
I think she sounds fine here? She’s such a pop culture icon, and yet… I feel like there is one small part of her which is “down to earth,” at least more down to earth than many iconic performers/actors. And it is legit crazy that she’s in such incredible shape right now – you would have thought that the wheels would have started to come off in her early or mid 40s, like the rest of us peasants. But no. The worst thing to happen to her is that she might need reading glasses. Crazy.
As for what she says about the tabloid landscape being different and worse than circa 2003 than it is now…. I sort of understand her point. I also think that back then, the gossip landscape was just more centralized, and those were the last days of actual big, iconic celebrities. Now everyone is equally famous online and all of that.

Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen was in court yesterday to accept a plea deal on federal charges. Cohen has been working with New York state authorities and federal authorities for months now, basically ever since his home and office were raided. Cohen “flipped” with relative ease, because he knew that the state and federal authorities had him on dozens – if not hundreds – of crimes. Cohen also knew that he was never the endgame, and that he could tell the truth about his dealings with the Trump family and get a better deal, especially from special counsel Robert Mueller. So that’s what Cohen did. Throughout the day on Thursday, so many fun details started spilling out from Cohen’s plea deal. Some highlights:
The $50 million penthouse. From Buzzfeed’s exclusive: “President Donald Trump’s company planned to give a $50 million penthouse at Trump Tower Moscow to Russian President Vladimir Putin as the company negotiated the luxury real estate development during the 2016 campaign, according to four people, one of them the originator of the plan.”
Don Jr. and Ivanka. According to Vanity Fair, Don Jr. “has been telling people he’s very worried after today,” and that he believes he’ll be indicted soon. Ivanka is “being eyed” by Mueller and his team for her involvement in the Moscow Trump Tower deal too, because Cohen was copying Ivanka and Don Jr. on everything.
Putin’s Kompromat. Basically, Cohen connects a lot of dots that suggest (if not prove) that Putin has held compromising information on Trump and his family for YEARS.
The Perjury Trap. Personally, I don’t understand why people act like it’s only JUST NOW that Trump could be caught up in his scheme of lies. He’s been lying to everyone, about everything. But the story is that Mueller laid a trap for Trump by waiting until Trump turned in his written answers about his dealings with Russia, and now Cohen’s testimony will be the final nail in the perjury coffin. Or something.
We’ve been talking about all of this for so long, and it feels like the facts have gotten mixed up with the speculation and suppositions, but I’ll just say this: I’m hopeful. I feel like things are going to really start moving around in the final weeks of 2018, and then by January, it should be Indictments Gone Wild. Merry Christmas!

Selena Gomez has an interview with Elle to promote her new line with Puma. Like a lot of things Selena does lately, you get the impression that she would rather be somewhere else. Selena seems to want a break from the spotlight but she still has to do these interviews, likely on the direction of her team. When she gets talking she does say some good things about body positivity, being comfortable and athleisure wear. There isn’t lot that’s highly quotable here but she manages to sound interested in the topic. It’s like she took a little while to get warmed up though.
On the secret taglines in her clothes like “Strong from the Inside out”
I want to encourage women. I really would love to use my platform for good, and along the way have so much fun with movies and the music. I wouldn’t be able to do any of it if it weren’t for the people that supported me, and that kind of sounds like a cliché, but its true. So I think for me, I’ve always wanted to be a good example. Not because I’m not going to mess up—I fuck up all the time. It’s more just that I want to be honest with them. I’m going to say: I’m trying the best I can and that’s what you can do too—just try the best that you can, and it’s hard. And you’re not alone.
I think it’s important for girls to know the strength in everything, their identity and their soul, lies within themselves. And too much today you give that away so easily, from social media to school or relationships. And I think it’s important—I want to remind girls that they’re perfectly strong the way they are.
On if she’s inspired by friends or movie characters
I guess I’m so moody, so I’ll watch Almost Famous and then I’ll want to dress like Kate Hudson for the week, or I’ll watch Marilyn and I’ll see something that I want to wear that’s all ’50s style. I think that’s probably why I’m an actress, because I’m like…different personalities [laughs]. But it’s just fun. I love dressing up. I love being inspired by art, by music, by movies. I don’t really limit myself. I think I just like to do the things that make me feel good.
What do you wear when you need extra strength?
A turtleneck. Every time I have a turtleneck on with some high-waisted pants, I feel like I can dominate. I feel like I’m a woman. It’s funny how you can put something on and it can make you feel that way, but that’s the only thing that makes me feel that way.
On if she prepared for the shoot that day
No, most of the time I don’t really know what I’m doing that day. But I just really enjoy coming, and that’s how I live my life. I feel like if I knew everything that’s happening every single second of the day, it would really overwhelm me. Today I knew I had this, and I’m so excited and I’m just going to enjoy it and then leave. I don’t prepare for it, necessarily—I just get excited, and then you create something together when you’re on set.
[From Elle]
I could relate to what she said about watching movies and wanting to dress like the characters, I do that a lot. Plus I’ll see what celebrities are wearing and copy some of their ideas. Like Selena I love turtlenecks, especially thin black turtlenecks layered under dresses, but I feel powerful when I’m put together in general, not when I wear a specific thing.
Selena is 26 and she sounds like she’s still figuring everything out, which is understandable. I don’t feel too sorry for her but I’d like her to be able to take some time to herself if she needs that. She recently got out of treatment and she’s battling health issues. Plus her first love Bieber just got married and her more recent ex, The Weeknd, is back with his ex. She’s not like the rest of us dealing with news about our stupid exes, she can’t just unfollow them. I wonder what that social aspect of being famous is like, when the whole world is talking about your exes’ relationships and everyone is monitoring you to see how you’re taking it.

It’s the last day of November, and people just realized that… the 2019 Oscars still don’t have a host. Not only that, but the Golden Globes don’t have a host either?!? The lack of host/s for the Globes doesn’t bother me as much as the Oscars though – the Globes can function pretty well without a host, or with a barely-there host who only shows up for a few minutes. But it’s crazy that tomorrow is December 1st and we still don’t have a host for the Academy Awards. Deadline pointed out that for three years – 1969-71 – the Oscars were hostless and they went just fine. But… people do expect some kind of host at this point. The problem is, I don’t trust the Academy to choose wisely, and they probably don’t trust themselves either, which is why no announcement has been made. Let’s look at some contenders:
Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel has hosted before and he’s a bland, do-no-evil host. He’s basically everyone’s third choice, only to be asked if they can’t get their first two choices.
Oprah. While Oprah isn’t “funny” like a comedian, she knows how to run a show and keep things moving, and I think she would actually be an excellent host. Plus, everybody would get gifts under their seats.
Gritty. Hear me out – using Gritty as the host would be extremely watchable. He doesn’t speak, so his googly eyes would have to do all the talking. I would be into it.
Tina Fey/Amy Poehler. They hosted the Globes for several years in a row and they were badass. I definitely think they should be on the shortlist.
Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi is funny, and she’s a woman. But I hope they don’t ask her.
Ellen DeGeneres. I mean… it will probably be Ellen, right?
Lin Manuel-Miranda. I mean, if it’s not Ellen, it will be Lin, right?
Kamala Harris. She’s running!!
Tiffany Haddish. I love Tiff and she can crack me up whenever she opens her mouth, but I feel like the Oscars are way too big for Tiffany… but Tiffany paired with someone else, I could totally see.
The Hot Duck. They would never allow the Hot Duck to host because Hollywood is full of jealous haters who don’t want to be outclassed and out-beautied by a Hot Duck.
Kumail Nanjiani. He’s funny and droll and it would be amazing to see a Pakistani-American man host!! (Maybe put him with Tiffany??)
Meryl Streep. I mean, she’ll be there anyway since she’s nominated every year.
Robert Downey Jr. In the olden days of the Oscars, RDJ would have been a shoo-in as host, honestly. He’s funny, he’s charismatic, he’s great without a script. But I doubt he would be asked.
I nominate @RobertDowneyJr https://t.co/ETpnBQdMkn

Yes, one week later and we’re still talking about the Cambridge-Sussex mess. I know some people believe that Prince Charles is perhaps the “ground zero” for all of these messy rumors about his sons and his sons’ wives. I think Charles and his people are probably the source for *some* of the rumors, especially the stories that end with “… and then Prince Charles stepped in and worked everything out/saved the day.” But the sheer volume of nastiness being thrown Meghan’s way from the press suggests that a lot more is happening besides “Charles trying to keep his sons in check.” It suggests an honest-to-God campaign against her.
People Magazine has stayed above the fray for the most part, even though they’ve historically been cloyingly saccharine about the Duchess of Cambridge (or “Princess Kate” as they call her). Still, Meghan is American and most of the American gossip outlets support her. So People Magazine tried to do some damage control on the War of Meg & Kate, with a source telling the magazine that while Kate and Meghan are not BFFs, they “really loved” spending time with each other last Christmas, and “I think the two women got on — they are definitely not best friends, but it was a really special time for them all to spend together.” Sounds nice, right? The problem is that Page Six/The Sun has a new story out too and it’s full of nastiness. Some highlights:
Everything is frosty & it’s all Meg’s fault: A growing friction between the two princes has been matched by an equally frosty relationship between their wives. And it is Markle who has found herself named as the instigator of what royal insiders claim is an “extraordinarily tense” time.
Harry & William fight too: “They have had quite a few arguments,” one royal source claims. “This is about Harry pulling away from his brother.”
The “lack of familiarity” between Kate & Meghan is “slowly breeding contempt”: As one source reveals: “They try their best to get along but they are two people from wildly different places, so it is perhaps inevitable that they will rub each other up the wrong way.” Kate toes the royal line, almost to a fault. She dresses demurely and hardly utters a word, apparently desperate never to put a foot wrong. Many people admire her for it. But critics have labeled her boring and say she performs the minimum of royal duties, never straying too far from home. Then along came Meghan: forceful, opinionated and go-getting — as one would expect from a woman making her way in the tough world of LA showbiz. Even before her position in the family was formalized, she was already undertaking public engagements, thirsty to meet the public and show just what an asset she could be to the House of Windsor.
Meghan is demanding: Some of those who have been around her say Meghan can be difficult and demanding. She is said to “snap” and to think nothing of bombarding staff with emails and calls as early as 5 a.m. Staff reportedly gossip about her and Harry, with some speculating the union could be over within five years. Meghan’s former personal assistant Melissa Touabti — who previously worked for pop star Robbie Williams — quit just six months after the wedding and has refused to say why.
[From Page Six]
LOL at “thirsty.” They’re painting her as, like, an Instagram girl trying to get followers. These uptight British people are just so UPSET that… Harry chose Meghan. That Harry knew right away. That Harry fell passionately in love with Meghan, and that he married her and now he… GASP… listens to her and takes her advice and stands up for her. “Forceful, opinionated and go-getting” are compliments in America. When used as a descriptors by a British royal reporter, they’re not meant as compliments. Meghan is The One. The Feather-Ruffler. The Agent of Change. This is going to be fun.

Backgrid Photos claims these are “the first photos” of Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus together since they welcomed their daughter. Diane and Norman were taking a walk on Thursday in New York, and the baby was in the stroller. They’ve become such a hardcore New York couple/family, right? Diane and Norman live together, and they just welcomed a baby a month ago, and yet people still theorize that they’re not really together, or that the baby isn’t really Norman’s. No. I’m 100% sure that they’re together and doing the happy-family thing. The only thing I question is how long it will last – Diane is ride-or-die for him, but how does he feel about her and their conventional domestic arrangement?
Before Thanksgiving, Diane posted a holiday message calling this her “favorite time of the year” and directing a message to Norman’s Instagram handle, writing: “I have A LOT to be thankful for this year and I count my lucky stars to have met you @bigbaldhead and for sharing life’s many blessings with you.” As I said, she’s ride-or-die. But is he?
Incidentally, we still don’t know the name of the baby? Unlike some of the other celebrities who manage to keep their baby’s names hidden for a while, I suspect we’ll find out Baby Kruger-Reedus’s name sometime soon. My guess is something with obvious German vibes. Her mom’s name is Maria-Theresa, and I could see some kind of variation of that.

Here are some photos from last night’s Hollywood premiere of Mary Poppins Returns. Emily Blunt was clearly the star of the red carpet, which is how it should be. She dressed up like a real Disney princess too, probably because she knew she was going to be interacting with kids at the premiere. Can you even imagine being a little kid and loving Mary Poppins and here comes Emily in this Good Witch get-up? She must have blown their minds. The dress is Yanina Couture. John Krasinski, her husband, was obviously her plus-one, but he only posed with Emily for a short time, then he let her have the carpet to herself.
Lin Manuel Miranda was there, and he brought his wife Vanessa, and he also posed with Dick Van Dyke. It was sweet, and let’s not forget that this was a dream come true for Lin as well.
I’m also including photos of Emily Mortimer & Ben Whishaw (they play the Banks children all grown up), plus Matt Damon and Luciana. Matt and Luciana are close friends with Emily and John, although Matt has been in the wind for months now. I think he’s just been spending a ton of time in Australia with his BFF Chris Hemsworth.

I was one of the few who actually thought Paris Hilton would marry Chris Zylka. Maybe I just wanted to believe because I was so looking forward to the extravaganza that would be Paris Hilton’s Wedding. But, alas, I was wrong and now I’m frantically searching for the receipt so I can return the blender I got them. However, I am partially comforted by the fact that Paris is holding up well and taking this time to think about… herself. Solid plan – when the cards are down, do what you do best, right?
Nearly a week after calling off her engagement to Chris Zylka, Paris Hilton is opening up about the split.
“I’m doing really good,” the 37-year-old hotel heiress said on Wednesday’s episode of “The Talk.” “I’m just really having my me time.”
She continued, “I just feel that when I fall in love, I fall in love fast and hard. It was this whirlwind romance and I’ve always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories, and I thought it was going to be my happy ending and I just realized after time that it wasn’t the right decision.”
“You know, one day, I would love to get married and have children, but for right now I’m just focusing on myself and my work,” she said.
[From Page Six]
Paris spent so much time focusing on herself during her relationship, she frequently referred to Chris as “her boyfriend” rather than his name, like maybe she’d forgotten it. In my opinion, what Paris is really “obsessed” with is drama. I do wonder if Paris actually does want to get married and have kids. It’s like she thinks she’s supposed to say that. I definitely think she wants a wedding though.
If Paris gets lonely during her me time, she can always draw a face on her 20-carat diamond engagement ring, ala Wilson from Cast Away. Since it is a reflective surface, she can focus on herself during each heartfelt conversation (that’s probably about her).
I don’t want to sound heartless. There is a chance that Paris is actually hurting from the split and if so, that‘s unfortunate. Whatever she’s going through, it’s not slowing her down. Paris recently released her Gift Guide where you can buy a variety of – what for it – Paris Hilton merchandise!

Pauly D Drops Half a Mill for His Face in Diamonds … Oh Yeah, Diamonds Yeah!! https://t.co/ZHK7dRk12s
— TMZ (@TMZ) November 28, 2018
You know that meme that was trending earlier this year about how you’re supposed to have saved twice your salary by the age of 35 that makes most of us laugh and commiserate about how poor we are? What would you do if you had way more than that? Would you buy a house, would you save it for retirement, would you get your childhood dog cloned? Would you try to get out of paying taxes so you could buy more luxury goods? Pauly D isn’t quite as reckless with his money as his Jersey Shore costar, Mike The Situation Sorrentino, currently serving an eight month prison sentence for evading federal taxes. However Pauly just dropped half a million dollars on a diamond encrusted chain and custom pendant made to look like his own stupid face.
We’re told Pauly co-designed a custom DJ Pauly D face pendant with Avi, the owner of Pristine Jewelers in NYC … and it took about 3 months to create!
the 36-carat pendant is a direct copy of Pauly’s famous look, complete with his blowout and diamond earrings! The face bling hangs on a tri-color Cuban link chain, dripping with more than 48 carats of rose, yellow and white diamonds.
Pauly didn’t stop fist pumping there — he also got a matching tri-color Cuban link bracelet, bringing the total value of his new accessories to $500,000.
[From TMZ]
Pauly D, 38, is thought to be worth up to $24 million because he commands a lot of money as a DJ. So he just spent 2% of his net worth on jewelry. That’s like someone worth $100k buying a $2k piece. It’s still a chunk of money but it sounds ok when you consider it as a percentage. I have a question though – where would you even wear that? Would you need security around when you’re wearing it or is it so custom that its resale value is limited to the individual diamonds? It would be really hard to fence that ugly thing.
I just checked out Pauly’s Instagram to look for photos of this pendant and from his stories I learned that he has a Rolls Royce with custom floormats with his name on them. I can’t.
Here’s Pauly with a DIFFERENT piece. This has to be worth over six figures right?

Rachel McAdams is basking in her new role as a mother. The Notebook actress welcomed her first child, a son, with boyfriend Jaime Linden. McAdams who works hard to keep her personal life personal welcomed her baby boy a few months back has finally has opened up in an interview with The Sunday Times about being a first-time mom.
“It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, hands down. People say your life is not your own anymore, but I had 39 years of me, I was sick of me, I was so happy to put the focus on some other person,” the 40-year-old Mean Girls actress admits.

The actress is learning to go with the flow when it comes to motherhood which she has discovered can be chaotic at times. McAdams even poked fun at herself that she barely was able to pull herself together for the interview.
