People Magazine just made me feel like a bad Indian! I’m half-Indian (and fully American), and I’m just not steeped in Indian culture or Hindu culture, so I actually found this People Magazine article super-fascinating. People Mag obviously employs some Indian writers who know their Hindu wedding sh-t. Here’s what I do know: when my Indian cousins got married, their weddings were basically weeks-long affairs with multiple ceremonies, parties, rituals, etc. People Mag broke it down in a handy explainer, as they discussed what Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s Indian wedding could entail.

Nick and Priyanka have been in Mumbai all week, and these are some photos of them yesterday. They’ve been making preparations for the wedding which could entail about two dozen different rituals and ceremonies, as People explained. According to People, they’re going to incorporate some of Nick’s Christian/Western style too:

Priyanka Chopra has been in wedding planning mode since Nick Jonas popped the question in July. The couple arrived in Chopra’s native India last week and celebrated Thanksgiving with her family. Pre-wedding festivities continued on Wednesday when Jonas, 26, and Chopra, 36, held a puja, a traditional Hindu ceremony to ask Lord Ganesh to look over the couple and block any obstacles to happiness, at her house.

The couple intends to hold two wedding ceremonies, one honoring each of their backgrounds. “It is super important to Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony that honors her heritage and culture, just as it’s important to also have a Western ceremony that honors Nick’s Christian upbringing,” a source tells PEOPLE. “They are doing both.”

I’ve said this before, but I remember watching that documentary series about the Jonas family, and I remember how uptight Mother Jonas seemed at the time. It felt like her dream was for her sons to all marry “nice Christian girls,” not Hindu chicks who insist on going to India for the puja. Still, I like that Hindu wedding drama is going mainstream in America – if you’re a relative of the Hindu bride or groom, you seriously need to take a month off of work just to see your relation get married and properly celebrate.

Jennifer Aniston has had a pretty quiet year, despite the fact that she and Justin Theroux announced their split shortly after her 49th birthday in February. In the olden days of tabloid gossip, their split would have dominated headlines for months, and we would know the truth about their fake marriage and their fake divorce. But Jennifer and Justin have both managed to avoid any direct questions about all of that for much of the year. So imagine my surprise when I saw this Us Weekly cover, which, despite its promises, does not feature a new interview with Jen. Why now? It took me a second to figure it out – Jennifer has Dumplin’ coming out on Netflix in a few weeks, so that’s why she magically got this Us Weekly cover.

Better off. Jennifer Aniston is “very comfortable where she is” after her divorce from Justin Theroux, a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“She’s doing her thing exactly the way she wants to do it and really enjoying life,” the insider explains, noting that the Friends alum “believes that whatever her path is, it will present itself the way it should.”

I don’t doubt that Jennifer has found some kind of peace. I think she’s been at peace for years now, even when her thing with Justin was falling apart. It’s like she finally got comfortable in her own skin, and just embraced the fact that she’s a creature of habit who prefers mansions, private chefs, and hanging with her dogs. I’m also glad that everyone (Jen included) has stopped pushing the poor, sad-sack Jen image. As for the cover’s promise of some kind of story about Jen being in therapy – she’s been in therapy for years, ever since the ‘90s.

The only thing I have to nitpick here is that Jennifer is post “divorce.” I wonder if the Dumplin’ promotional tour will feature any direct questions about why Jen and Justin faked their marriage?

This spring, the New York Times put out an interview with the Arrested Development cast in which Jessica Walter, who plays matriarch Lucille Bluth, cried and revealed that she’d been verbally assaulted by costar Jeffrey Tambor. Tambor had been allowed to quit Transparent months prior to that after it came out that he’d sexually harassed several women on set. So it was known that he was an utter piece of sh-t. However audio and the transcript of the NYT interview show how Walter’s male costars, including Jason Bateman and David Cross, laughed, talked over her and made excuses for Tambor.

One man who stood up for Walter was Thomas Sadoski, an actor who’d worked with her on a film that’s now in post production called The Mimic. After the interview, Sadoski posted a photo with Walter. He wrote, in part, that screaming at someone isn’t acceptable in any industry and that “excusing that kind of behavior is pathetic.” He was directly calling out Bateman and the other men in the room for talking over Walter, and it was wonderful and true. Sadoski is an ally.

Being a decent human being and speaking out cost Sadoski some work, according to his wife. Amanda Seyfried retweeted the post from her husband in defense of Walter and wrote this:

Here’s a somewhat recent post from my husband who, in return for standing beside a badass woman who’d recently been bullied, recently lost out on a job because of this. I’d rather speak up and lose out. Integrity, ladies and gentlemen.

The more I hear about the film industry, the more disturbed I am. So Sadoski did the right thing and paid for it. I’m sure he’ll be fine but it’s a reminder of how this type of abuse flourishes when people pointing it out get punished. That is true of so many industries and of the current rotten system of white supremacy that we call a government.

I was not prepared.

I tried to prepare myself. I waited until I was alone so whatever sounds left my body wouldn’t disturb my coworkers. I made sure I was hydrated in case the sight of Michael Bae Jordan and puppies made me burst into a cold sweat. I thought I was prepared.

Then the first pup…

I have a real question: do you think TMZ has genuine “royal sources”? I do not. I think People Magazine has royal sources. I think Us Weekly’s royal sources are mostly just royal reporters gossiping. I think Tom Sykes at the Daily Beast has royal sources. But TMZ? Eh. I bring this up because TMZ has a very strange story today about how the Duchess of Cambridge is “doing everything she can to keep up” with the Duchess of Sussex, at least according to their “royal sources.” I suspect their royal sources are, like, their eyes and some observations on Twitter.

Kate Middleton wants everyone to know Meghan Markle isn’t the only Royal with impeccable style … because Kate’s doing everything she can to keep up with Meghan’s public image. Our Royal sources say Kate is attending more events than she used to, and she’s paying much more attention to her looks … we’re talking wardrobe, hair, jewelry, make-up, the whole nine yards. Basically, we’re told Kate wants to be more visible now that Meghan is commanding the spotlight.

As you can see, Kate has totally switched up her look … combining Princess Diana’s favorite tiara with a fancy necklace and a new gown by Alexander McQueen. This ensemble for a recent state banquet is quite different from the looks we’d gotten used to seeing Kate wear. When she attended Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party on Nov. 14, Kate wore her hair up … showing off bare shoulder under very glitzy earrings. Again, a style we hadn’t seen much. For what it’s worth, Meghan also wore her hair up at that event. Kate’s been busting out some outfits from way back in the day — she’s no fool and knows that gets more coverage. Usually, she recycles a year-old jacket or two, not a dress she wore 6 years ago — a clear sign she’s trying something new.

It’s interesting … Kate’s image focus comes amid reports of tension between her and Meghan, and between William and Harry. We’ve reached out to Kensington Palace for comment, but so far no word back.

I mean… did you need TMZ to tell you this? It’s so random. The timing is especially odd, considering… well, Kate has been extra since Meghan and Harry announced their engagement last year, as we all discussed at the time. Suddenly, Kate was keen to be seen like never before. And the same thing is happening now, where Kate is keeping up a much more involved schedule. Now, does it follow that Kate is “doing everything she can to keep up with Meghan’s public image”? Or is that “Thrifty/Future Queen” Kate is basically style-subtweeting Meghan at every turn?

Leonardo DiCaprio has been with Camila Morrone for about a year. So far, Camila has had the full, by-the-books DiCaprio Girlfriend Experience. She got a pap stroll early in their relationship. She got some luxurious vacations on a yacht (and her mom was invited too). She’s attended several of Leo’s events, just not on his arm. She’s gotten several PR-fluff pieces about how she’s a real Cool Girl Who Hangs With The Guys. She’s even gotten the PR-fluff rumors about how this time, Leo really intends to settle down. Plus, she’s only 21 years old – she’s still four years away from aging out of the Girlfriend Experience. Everything’s coming up roses for Camila. So what if – lol – Leo really intends to MARRY Camila?

For what it’s worth, I think he likes Camila a lot. I could tell because he invited her mom (who is younger than him) on the yacht vacation too. Leo clearly adores Camila and her family, and he’s quite happy that he doesn’t have to break up with her any time soon, because she’s years away from turning 25. Now does that mean that he’ll marry her? Uh, no. I mean, I’ll believe it when I see it and not a minute before. If anything, Camila should be very worried that “engagement rumors” are popping up, because that’s one of Leo’s dealbreakers.
