Prince William has never struck me as particularly generous in general, or specifically with Kate. He honestly seems cheap, and especially cheap when it comes to Kate. There are always rumors that William “bought” Kate certain pieces of jewelry, but most of the nice stuff she’s worn over the years have been loaners from the Royal Collection or they’re from Princess Diana’s personal collection. For daytime events, Kate went through a phase where she wore a lot of Kiki McDonough earrings, mostly semi-precious stones set in simple drop settings. I remember hearing rumors that William “bought” her those McDonough pieces but later we learned that Kate picked all of that stuff out herself and just charged it to her father-in-law. My point? William isn’t lavishing nice jewelry on his bewigleted wife. So it’s a little bit funny that Keen fans are now convinced that William gave Kate a pair of £100 earrings for Christmas, the same earrings she wore on the Christmas walk at Sandringham.
Dazzling Kate sported a pair of £100 drop earrings that were a Christmas present from Prince William. The gold-plated baubles, featuring an intricate coin-style design and dangling jewels, are from high street brand Sezane – which Kate is known to love.
Yesterday, the ocean blue Dina earrings sold out online within minutes of Kate appearing in them. They are made from gold-plated recycled brass and natural stones.
The Princess of Wales has been spotted in Sezane clothing on several occasions, and regularly wears earrings from the French chain. She is known to own at least five pairs.
Royal watchers said it was “so sweet” of Wills to buy jewellery from one of his wife’s favourite stores.
One, we don’t know for sure if William gave her those earrings, it’s just an assumption by Keen fans. Two, if William did pick those out… well, the man is cheap as hell. Sure, I would love a pair of £100 earrings, as would most people. But William truly has access to a huge fortune when he inherited the Duchy of Cornwall this year. He couldn’t buy his wife something more expensive? I hope William’s mistress got better jewelry out of him. But again… I doubt it. He just seems so cheap.
Also, I just can’t see William selecting these earrings, they’re too big and garish. Kate chose them for herself. Ever since she became Princess of Wales, her jewelry selections have been “off.”
Here are some photos from the Christmas church-walk at Sandringham, where the Windsors spent their first Christmas since the pandemic began. As always, Prince William and Kate tried to make everything about themselves, and they trotted out all three kids. I can only imagine what they bribed Prince Louis with to get him to behave for an entire walk. Princess Charlotte and Prince George are getting super-tall and I was surprised to see that Kate didn’t color-coordinate the whole family as some kind of unhinged “dig” at the Sussexes. I was also surprised to see that Kate recycled a coat for Christmas – she’s worn this £1077 olive-green McQueen coat (with breast flaps) a few times over the years. The hat is part of Kate’s Copykeening Jecca Craig Collection.
King Charles and Camilla led the Christmas walk and Camilla seemed especially full of herself. The Yorks were out in force, and Prince Andrew was allowed to walk with the family to church. Gross. Apparently, Charles allowed Fergie to spend Christmas with the family too, although she wasn’t part of the church walk. Princess Beatrice was there with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Edo’s son Wolfie (Bea’s step-son). I was also surprised to see Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank come out, but Eugenie probably wanted to spend the holiday with her parents and her sister. The Wessexes were there with their two kids, Lord Severn and Lady Louisa. Is it just me or is Sophie doing some Meghan cosplay? Sophie’s coat looks a lot like several coats in Meghan’s closet.
Two Saturdays ago, The Sun published a column by Jeremy Clarkson, a column in which he shared his violent, misogynistic hatred for the Duchess of Sussex and openly fantasized about stripping her naked and parading her down the street so people could throw feces at her. Clarkson wrote that everyone in his generation feels the same way about Meghan. It was especially notable because just a few days before his violent screed was published, Clarkson had enjoyed a Christmas lunch with Queen Camilla, Judi Dench and Piers Morgan. The connection to Queen Camilla didn’t get unnoticed, although Buckingham Palace refused to reject Clarkson or his column, and palace officials even made a point of complaining about people associating Clarkson’s column with the Camilla lunch. Well, on Christmas Eve, the Sun finally “apologized” for publishing Clarkson’s nasty column:
In last Saturday’s Sun, Jeremy Clarkson wrote a comment article about the Duchess of Sussex. It provoked a strong response and led to a large number of complaints to IPSO, the independent press regulator.
In a tweet earlier this week, Jeremy said he had made a “clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones”, which had “gone down badly with a great many people” and he was “horrified to have caused so much hurt”. He also said he will be more careful in future.
Columnists’ opinions are their own, but as a publisher, we realise that with free expression comes responsibility. We at The Sun regret the publication of this article and we are sincerely sorry.
The article has been removed from our website and archives. The Sun has a proud history of campaigning, from Help for Heroes to Jabs Army and Who Cares Wins, and over 50 years of working in partnership with charities, our campaigns have helped change Britain for the better. Working with our readers, The Sun has helped to bring about new legislation on domestic abuse, provided beds in refuges, closed harmful loopholes in the law and empowered survivors of abuse to come forward and seek help. We will continue to campaign for good causes on behalf of our readers in 2023.
The Sun is using their charitable campaigns as some kind of excuse or cover for platforming violent misogyny is pretty disgusting, even more so when you consider that Queen Camilla is also a self-styled anti-gender-violence advocate too. Camilla wouldn’t lift a finger to even show some verbal support to her husband’s daughter-in-law. Anyway, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex read the Sun’s bullsh-t apology and they made a statement about it too:
A spokesperson for Meghan Markle is speaking out about a “deeply misogynist” article that media personality Jeremy Clarkson wrote about the Duchess of Sussex for The Sun.
In a statement provided to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for Meghan Markle blasts the outlet’s apology: “The fact that the Sun has not contacted The Duchess of Sussex to apologize shows their intent. This is nothing more than a PR stunt.”
“While the public absolutely deserves the publication’s regrets for their dangerous comments, we wouldn’t be in this situation if The Sun did not continue to profit off of and exploit hate, violence and misogyny. A true apology would be a shift in their coverage and ethical standards for all. Unfortunately, we’re not holding our breath.”
Yep. The Sun didn’t apologize to Meghan publicly or privately. Neither did Queen Camilla or Buckingham Palace. And yes, the Sun profits on hate, violence and misogyny. Camilla clearly feels like the Clarkson debacle wasn’t worth defending Meghan. Harry is currently suing the Sun too, which I’m sure was a factor in how the Sun handled all of this.
I hope Megan Thee Stallion had a blessed Christmas holiday. She received an early Christmas present on December 23rd, last Friday: the jury convicted Tory Lanez on three felony charges from his assault on Megan in July 2020. Megan, Tory and several friends had been partying in LA when there was some kind of awful confrontation. Tory shot Megan and told her to “dance, bitch.” Since then, Tory has paid off friends and blogs to smear Megan (his victim) and lie about what happened that night. Megan has been through it, but at least the LA court system and an LA jury saw through Lanez’s bullsh-t. Megan ended up testifying against Tory too.
After a nine-day trial, Tory Lanez has been convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. On Friday afternoon a Los Angeles jury found the Canadian rapper, born Daystar Peterson, guilty of all three charges — assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
Lanez will be sentenced Jan. 27. The convictions may carry up to 22 years and eight months in prison. Lanez, 30, showed “no visible reaction” as the verdict came down, the Associated Press reports, adding that he was handcuffed shortly thereafter.
“The jury got it right,” Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyer Alex Spiro tells PEOPLE. “I am thankful there is justice for Meg.”
The rapper, née Megan Pete, was commended by Los Angeles Country District Attorney George Gascón following the verdict.
“I want to start by highlighting the bravery of Megan Pete. You showed incredible courage and vulnerability with your testimony despite repeated and grotesque attacks that you did not deserve. You faced unjust and despicable scrutiny that no woman should ever face and you have been an inspiration to others across LA County and the nation,” Gascón wrote in a statement. “Women, especially Black women, are afraid to report crimes like assault and sexual violence because they are too often not believed. This trial, for the second time this month, highlighted the numerous ways that our society must do better for women,” he continued.
“I’d also like to thank the jurors for their time and thoughtful deliberation, and our trial team for their tireless pursuit of the truth. You spent countless hours away from your families during the holiday season preparing this case and finding justice for Ms. Pete. Your sacrifice is appreciated.”
I’m glad the DA made a special statement about Megan’s bravery and the need for the criminal justice system to do better for Black women. Megan was extraordinarily brave in the face of too much bullsh-t. Disloyal friends, liars, a misogynistic media backing Lanez. Megan stayed true to herself and she showed so much grace in the face of that bullsh-t. So many men and so many “music journalists” owe Megan a huge apology for what they did to her.

Kensington Palace has been on a briefing spree since Netflix dropped the first Harry & Meghan trailer during Prince William and Kate’s Boston trip. I still believe that William spent hours screaming down the phone, calling the Sussexes “the Kardashians” and shrieking about how much he “f–king hates” Meghan. Even after the Netflix series was over, William was still briefing everyone about how he and Harry will never reconcile and William will never forgive Harry for the cardinal sin of… falling in love, getting married and not putting up with William’s bullsh-t. I bring up the past month of blatant briefing from Kensington Palace (if not William himself) because Ingrid Seward thinks the king and queen are “applauding” William and Kate for being so… silent. LOL.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ decision to not retaliate to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive Netflix series has been applauded by other royals, an expert has said. William and Kate have not spoken out about the bombshell six-part documentary, which saw a number of claims levelled against the royals. Among them was that William screamed and shouted at younger brother Harry during the Sandringham Summit and that Kate had an awkward formal first meeting with Meghan. And according to royal expert and author Ingrid Seward, members of the Firm, especially King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have been especially supportive of the couple.
She told the Mirror: “Other family members are being supportive, especially the duty-bound King and Queen, who understand how the accusations in Harry and Meghan’s extensive Netflix interviews have been incredibly hurtful. Rather than stooping to their level, they have applauded the couple’s decision not to retaliate in any way. ”
It comes after the past three months have been ones of massive upheaval for William and Kate as well as their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. But despite it being all change, Ingrid says the couple has worked to make sure the transition has been as smooth and stress-free as possible.
She explained: “On the day their great-grandmother passed away, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis were enjoying their first day at their new school, Lambrook just outside Windsor. Shielded from the furore surrounding the official announcement of great granny’s death later in the day, Catherine’s priority was to be with them at Adelaide Cottage while William headed to Balmoral. Suddenly and unexpectedly the world had changed for them all. They had only recently moved to the elegant little house on the Windsor estate leaving behind Anmer Hall their home from home in Norfolk. The idea was to keep them all together as a tight family unit while even their staff were housed in separate accommodation.
“Luckily children are happily adaptable. Adults have to follow suit. Both William and Kate were thrust into full-time official royal duties while keeping their favourite causes running alongside. As Prince of Wales, William took on his father’s duties along with his titles and income from the Duchy of Cornwall. As Princess of Wales, Kate was conscious of her predecessor as well as all the extra responsibilities she had taken over from her brother-in-law, Prince Harry such as becoming patron of the rugby football league.
“Harry’s clumsy attempts to claim Diana’s legacy sit uncomfortably beside William and Kate’s grace, dignity and hard work, which has lent their new roles another dimension and they are obviously proud to carry the title than once epitomised Diana.”
I never understood all of the panic about Kate staying in Windsor on the day QEII died. It was her kids’ first day of school, of course she wanted to be there for their first day. Royalists were acting absolutely bonkers to try to make excuses for Kate’s absence in Balmoral when the truth would have sufficed. Instead, they made it sound like Meghan couldn’t come to Balmoral because Kate wasn’t there plus “the royals don’t consider Meghan to be part of the family.” What could have been a simple story about first-day-of-school logistics became another royal attack on Meghan. As for all of the keenery about William and Kate’s extra duties… they haven’t done anything but go on flop tours and mystery vacations. And no, William hasn’t stayed silent. He’s been screaming and raging for weeks.
Meanwhile, did you see that Kate planted a tree? She didn’t really plant it. Someone else dug the hole, put a wild cherry tree in the hole and filled in most of the hole with dirt, then Kate came along and posed with a shovel for the last part and Kate got credit for “planting a tree.” That’s representative of everything Kate does. It’s a microcosm of every Keen event. The wild cherry tree was donated by the Duchy of Cornwall (Kate is the Duchess of Cornwall) and it was planted there because Westminster Abbey had to remove a horse chestnut tree which had rotted. The Abbey made a big deal about how Kate planted it in memory of Queen Elizabeth.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that King Charles is historically unpopular, but I do think there’s a significant issue with his “popularity,” namely that support for Charles is a mile wide and an inch deep. He does not have some deep reserve of love, familiarity and historical bonds that his mother enjoyed. He treated Diana like sh-t and he treated his sons like sh-t. He’s married to a nasty piece of work, a woman who openly consorts with vile, hateful racists and misogynists. He’s such a sh-tty father that his youngest son and his youngest grandchildren are spending their fourth Christmas in a row thousands of miles away. He’s also going to spend millions in taxpayer money to throw himself a big coronation party… at a moment where there’s a huge cost of living crisis in the UK. So, as I said, Charles has some popularity issues. Will those popularity issues come to a head during the Sandringham Christmas walk?
An urgent review of King Charles’ security has taken place ahead of the royal family’s public appearance on Christmas Day, following recent protests. The Windsor family will greet well-wishers on December 25 as they walk back from a morning service at St Mary Magdalene church on their Sandringham estate.
However royal protection chiefs are concerned that the King may face protestors after being targeted twice by egg-hurling activists. The team responsible for the monarch safety are said to have met at least twice and ordered an immediate review of his security, The Mirror reported.
King Charles has had eggs thrown at him twice recently, earlier this month a man was arrested for common assault following a disturbance on St George’s Square in Luton. Though Charles, 74, appeared unfazed by the incident and quickly resumed shaking hands with members of the public after being moved to a different area. Just four weeks prior, another man was arrested for throwing an egg at the King and Queen Consort during a visit to York.
If Charles and the other royals get eggs thrown at them at Sandringham, well… I would laugh. I know it’s a security issue and all of that, and if additional security protocols are being undertaken, so be it. But if the biggest f–king threat is “the lone egg-tosser,” then he’s actually in better shape than we thought. Besides, I doubt anything will happen to him in Sandringham. You never can predict egg-tossers though.
Okay, I think I’ve got it: Lord Frederick Windsor is the son of Prince Michael of Kent and Princess Michael of Kent. Frederick is 43 years old and married to Sophie Winkleman, an actress. Frederick doesn’t have much to do with the royal family – he’s rarely invited to the family gatherings, although he and Sophie were in attendance at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. They were also invited to Princess Kate’s Together at Christmas event last week. When I saw photos of them, I just thought “that’s weird” and “the extended family really came out for Kate’s piano recital, huh.” Well, Sophie Winkleman has some kind of column for The Spectator, and I now believe that Frederick and Sophie’s invite to Kate’s event was some kind of quid pro quo. Sophie wrote this sh-t in the Spectator with a straight face:
This Christmas will be spent in London. I love a London Christmas. The streets are quiet, the parks are empty – it’s a bit like lockdown London but without the masks. We’ll see my parents on Christmas Day and some of my husband Freddie’s relations in various locations. I cherish my growing closeness to the senior members of the royal family who are so hardworking, uncomplaining and brave in the face of relentless and brutal media attention, criticism, lies, undermining and fictional TV programmes – and always so good to me that I’m honoured to know them.
LOL, imagine selling your soul like this just because you were invited to Kate’s Let’s Mean-Girl Meghan By Wearing Burgundy event. “Fictional TV programmes,” my goodness. Maybe she was talking about The Crown?? I would agree, it was fictional for Peter Morgan to portray Charles as sympathetic and wronged, rather than as an abusive gaslighter who smeared Diana for years with Camilla’s help. Imagine Sophie getting on her high horse about the senior royals when Camilla was literally having lunch with Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson a week ago. “So hardworking, uncomplaining and brave” – sure, Jan.
Man, Prince William and Frederick look so much alike, it’s kind of creepy.
This is just a reminder: the Princess of Wales’s second annual Christmas piano recital will air on ITV on Saturday, Christmas Eve. Last year’s Together at Christmas event did not get much in the way of viewership, plus Kate sort of kneecapped the carol concert by making everything about how she played the piano… in a prerecorded bit which was then spliced into the broadcast. I wonder if the same thing will happen this year, since clearly Kate does want it to be all about Kate.
This year’s carol service is dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II or whatever. There were Paddington Bear ornaments on the Christmas trees, and I would imagine some people said some words about QEII’s legacy. Kate also recorded a couple of previews, which I’m sure count as separate events. I don’t know how many takes Kate needed, but she made an effort to soften her glass-cutting fake posh accent. She also wore a very sparkly ensemble. Part of me wonders if she started doing these carol events because she loves the costume changes. Next year, we might even get a Christmas Ode to Buttons.
