Two weeks ago, we covered some excerpts from Holly Madison’s tell-all memoir, Down the Rabbit Hole. Holly made it sound like her life at the Playboy Mansion was pretty unappealing – the group sex with Hugh Hefner, the emotional abuse, the petty rivalries between “girlfriends” that Hefner stoked and encouraged, all of it led to Holly being depressed and suicidal. For what it’s worth, I tend to believe Holly. I know she’s trying to sell a book and maybe some of the stories are exaggerated, but the big stuff feels true. But Hefner still thinks he can save his reputation (?), so he offered this statement to media outlets:
“Over the course of my life I’ve had more than my fair share of romantic relationships with wonderful women. Many moved on to live happy, healthy, and productive lives, and I’m pleased to say remain dear friends today. Sadly, there are a few who have chosen to rewrite history in an attempt to stay in the spotlight. I guess, as the old saying goes: You can’t win ‘em all!”
[From Us Weekly]
Eh. He sounds like his soup is cold. Besides, it’s not like Holly is trying to be super-famous or anything. Holly is active on social media and she still makes the occasional public appearance, but she mostly lives a pretty quiet life in Las Vegas with her family. It’s not like she’s out in LA, shilling for a reality show, which is what she did when she was with Hef. So Holly responded to Hef’s “ignore her, she’s a dumb famewhore” argument. Via ET:
“It wasn’t about having an ax to grind or wanting to get a reaction from him [Hefner], or, you know, inviting him back into my life in any way. I don’t really care about his response. I wanted to share my story to inspire other women who might be in a bad relationship to get out, or not be branded by bad decisions they’ve made, and take charge of their lives and move on. … I’m definitely not rewriting history. I’m finally telling the truth of my experience. For so many years I tried so hard to be a good girlfriend, and I cared about him and always had his back.”
“I think it’s important for people to understand he wasn’t running a charity for wayward girls or anything — there was definitely a price for living there, and you know, we did a lot to push the brand, and cheerlead for the brand, and I think there’s a whole generation of young women who wouldn’t know what Playboy was if it wasn’t for [the E! reality show] Girls Next Door. I’m definitely grateful for the good things, but I don’t think I owe anyone anything. If you read the book and you see how we were treated over the years — I definitely gave him my best for seven years. And I think I was the best girlfriend anybody could have been. But there just reaches a breaking point.”
[From Entertainment Tonight]
Maybe I’m a Holly Madison apologist – I do still like her, quite honestly – but she comes across as pretty matter-of-fact here. Perhaps she does have an axe to grind, but mostly I think she just wanted to tell her story, her version of events, her truth. And yes, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Hefner was and is a manipulative bastard in private.

Actors Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts stepped out with their two sons – Sasha, 7, and Kai, 6 – in Malibu, Calif. on Father’s Day (June 21).
After enjoying lunch together, the family-of-four were seen tossing a football at the Malibu Pier.
Earlier this month, we spotted the famous family on a park playdate in Santa Monica.
The mom-of-two, 46, is currently filming Demolition with Jake Gyllenhaal. Meanwhile, Schreiber, 47, continues to play the lead role in the Showtime series Ray Donovan.
Next up, Watts will star in Shut In, a psychological thriller which tells the story of a woman trying to raise her catatonic son on her own, only to suddenly discover a shocking secret about him.

Dear Gossips,
As we all know now, Mimi is dating Australian billionaire James Packer who, obviously, has enough money and resources to woo her. But it’s not just about what you can buy for Mimi. With Mimi it has to be about the show too.
Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian arriving in Nice, France today. She wore the same outfit when she flew out of JFK yesterday, except in those photos, Kim wore high-heeled boots. She must have changed into comfortable Yeezy Boosts 350 sneakers during the flight because just like with her first pregnancy, Kim’s feet are swollen. I can actually feel the wave of misery from here – Kim hates when she’s not able to wear heels. And she looks very uncomfortable. I would complain about how her boobs are hanging out, but I don’t think she really has a choice – they’re so big, they’re going to hang out of nearly anything.
In other Kim K. news, did you hear that she’s going to give a seminar on the objectification of women? It’s true. Kim will appear at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland on June 30th to discuss the objectification of women in media, and how to profit from objectifying yourself. The cost of VIP tickets? $300. For real? You could just check back through our Kardashian archives and find a richer conversation about what Kim means within the media landscape.
She’s actually in Cannes already, probably to give a discussion to the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference series. Kanye gave a surprisingly great discussion last year, so I guess this year, it’s Kim’s turn.
PS… Kim needs to ban satin pants from her wardrobe.

Proud mama Kelly Ripa shared a rare snapshot of her three children – Michael, 18, Lola, 14, and Joaquin, 12 – via Instagram Monday.
“Black is the new black,” the Live! With Kelly and Michael star, 44, captioned the image of her color coordinated kids.
On Father’s Day, the funnylady posted a throwback photo of her older children and husband Mark Consuelos.
“Thank you @instasuelos for being such an incredible dad. Then and now, our kids are so lucky! Happy Father’s Day! I love you,” she wrote.
Last week Kelly shared a selfie with her only daughter, wishing her a happy 14th birthday.

Earlier this month, we discussed Leonardo DiCaprio’s new official girlfriend, Kelly Rohrbach. This is something of Leo’s new habit: he stays single for Cannes, but then he rolls out a new girlfriend for the summer. I believe he did something similar with Toni Garrn. Anyway, Kelly and Leo are happening – the “biking through New York” photo op already happened, which speeds up the process considerably. So how did Kelly lock down the official girlfriend title so quickly? What does she have that the other Victoria’s Secret models didn’t have? Well, for one thing, Kelly has an amazing publicist. The NY Post ran this blatant PR plant yesterday with the headline “Why Leo’s latest model could be the one.” Oh, Kelly. Honey, NO! So, let’s do some highlights from the piece.
She’s different from the other models because she’s educated and rich: “With a degree from elite Georgetown University and a financier father, she has a pedigree unlike the average bikini babe.”
She’s different because she’s a tomboy: “Described by pals as a ‘tomboy’ who favors jeans and a T-shirt, Rohrbach played golf at the Big East school before giving it up for the theater. The personification of country-club preppy, Rohrbach — who now splits her time between downtown Manhattan and Los Angeles — grew up in posh Greenwich, Conn., at a home with a private golf facility.”
The editor of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, MJ Day, says: “When she came into the office, she floored us immediately…She had that spark. She’s an incredible conversationalist. When she is around, you are sucked into her. She takes the room with her presence in the best possible way…I only book people that I hope will take it to the next level. I haven’t talked to her about her relationship status, but I am sure [dating Leo] is a fun bonus. I’m glad she is coupled up with such a famous actor. And why not? She’s a 20-something beautiful girl. I’m glad they are having fun.”
Where Kelly met Leo: She was party-hopping on Oscar night in LA and a friend introduced her to Leo. That was February. He didn’t make her official until late May though.
How Kelly describes herself: “I’m definitely quick-witted. And I can hang with the guys. I’m pretty relaxed, and nothing really offends me. I think everything’s funny, to be honest.”
She really wants to be an actress. After college, she went to LA to try to make it an actress. She landed a couple of small parts on TV shows and commercials but her agent told her to try modeling.
[From The NY Post]
There’s a lot of stuff in there from lots of sources insisting that she’s totally down with being “one of the guys” and she was her father’s “wingman” and she loves to golf and eat healthy and she has that spark, you guys. Here’s the thing: she’s perfectly pretty, she’s got a great body, she already comes from a wealthy family and she’s already a rising star in the modeling world and she probably will find more work as an actress. But none of that really matters to Leo and whether or not he’ll settle down with her. They’ll be together for a year or so and then he’ll dump her, probably because she’s 24/25 years old and already dangerously close to his age limit. And it’s a shame she’s wasting all of this hustle and good PR on Leo, you know?

Glee star Naya Rivera and husband, Justified actor Ryan Dorsey, stepped out in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday (June 20). The parents-to-be picked up some painting supplies at a local hardware store.
The mom-to-be was glowing in a light gray maternity mini dress and white top, paired with flat sandals and shades.
“And happy Father’s Day to the best dad to be in the world @DorseyRyan! I’m so proud to give you a child. Love you!” Naya Tweeted on Sunday.
The expectant Devious Maids star, 28, recently dished on pregnancy sex.
“Other things changed as well,” she told PEOPLE. “Things like sex with my husband became a bit odd for me due to the fact that I was now limited to about two positions in order to not squash — as my husband puts it — “its roof” or have the baby (my belly) staring him in the face. I feel like men are constantly imagining their baby winking at them when they make love to their pregnant wives thus making sexy times more few and far between.”
And happy Father’s Day to the best dad to be in the world @DorseyRyan! I’m so proud to give you a child. Love you!

I think Amal Clooney has been in London for a few weeks now. She was in NYC for months with George while he filmed Money Monster, then she and George took their love on the road to Japan, then to Kentucky. I think George went to Cabo without Amal while she traveled to London, which is still her homebase. Amal was seen yesterday doing some official barrister work – go here to see a photo of her polka-dot ensemble. Then Amal was seen today in much more casual street clothes.
I don’t have the IDs for anything Amal is wearing in these photos. I’m sure all of it is crazy-expensive, but I’m reminded again that Amal has terrible casual street-style. I actually like her business-wear – she has nice taste in suits and it’s not difficult for her to find flattering styles. I even sort of like/enjoy her evening wear and date-night clothing, just because she actually does try to mix it up (and fails sometimes). But her street style is the worst. This sleeveless coat paired with ripped jeans and a belly shirt? Honey, NO.
Amal was at the Supreme Court in London yesterday as part of the team arguing on behalf of the residents of the Chagos Islands. The residents were forced to move from their homes to make way for an American airbase. The legal team – which is not headed by Amal – has argued that the residents suffered a “significant injustice.” You can read more about the situation here.
