Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana shared a family photo via Instagram Sunday.

“Happy Father’s Day to my everything. My Marco,” the new mom, 37, captioned the image with husband Marco Perego-Saldana and their 6-month-old twins Cy and Bowie.

The Avatar actress recently shared a shot on her 37th birthday.

“Can’t thank you all enough for making this day so special! I feel truly blessed for all the birthday wishes I’ve received today. My greatest thanks,” she captioned the family photo with one of her twins and her husband.

The actress recently opened up about their busy family life.

“It’s great. It’s a blessing. We know because people keep telling us,” Saldana joked of having multiples. “No, we’re very, very happy. It’s just like whatever you do—if you change a diaper and you put one down, it’s like you have to do it all over again. That’s when they’re in a good mood. But if they’re having a tantrum and it’s at the same time.”

This story isn’t really about something George and Amal Clooney actually did. But it’s an interesting story about a crazy person and her suspiciously interesting thoughts on the Clooneys. THR reports that the CEO of Time Warner, Jeff Bewkes, was trying to speak to shareholders during an annual meeting and one women – a shareholder – tried to hijack the talk by going OFF about the Clooneys and their (alleged) politics.

Things got testy at Time Warner’s annual meeting on Friday when CEO Jeff Bewkes found it necessary to interrupt a shareholder who, during a question and answer period, suggested there was something nefarious about George Clooney’s marriage to Amal Alamuddin.

“I have a compensation question. How much have you paid George Clooney for Gravity and Argo?” the woman asked Bewkes before launching into a rambling, minutes-long attack on the actor and his Lebanese bride, accusing the couple of funneling money to enemies of America and Israel. “Alamuddin has been portrayed in the press as a sexy, international civil rights lawyer. She is not. She is a criminal lawyer. A defense attorney who puts the worst tyrants back on the streets,” the woman said.

Bewkes gave the shareholder plenty of rope but eventually interrupted. “Excuse me. We cannot allow this meeting to be the place where personal and political views from any of us are expressed,” the CEO said.

“I would like to know how much Mr. Clooney has received, how much money is going to Lebanon and to his wife,” she said, having ticked off Clooney’s alleged expenses for his wedding, honeymoon and homes he has purchased abroad.

“In terms of what any of our actors, directors, writers make as citizens of the United States, they’re free to spend their money where they choose, and it is not something that our company has any influence over, or power about, nor do we have knowledge of it, and we should not further detour this meeting to discuss those matters,” Bewkes said.

She closed by accusing journalists at Time Warner of misrepresenting Alamuddin in their reporting. “This is not a fashion show for a prime minister, clients who are in jail instead of running for elections or for Lebanese tribunal.”

[From THR]

The thing is… while the woman did come across as unhinged, we really can’t say for sure that she’s wrong. George Clooney’s press machine has been working overtime for more than a year to try to create an image of Amal as the most brilliant, humanitarian, intellectual, glamorous, fashionable unicorn-lawyer in the world and for many people, that campaign has fallen flat. Because we actually don’t know much about the real Amal – she is still an enigma, which adds to her allure, of course, except that being a professional enigma means that people really don’t know the basics of where she stands on many political issues. If we’re supposed to judge her politics from her legal work, yes, she has represents tyrants and despots and she’s been on the “wrong side” of some issues. Also, it’s worth noting: in all of the press around Amal, we’ve never gotten a confirmation about her religion.

Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow posted a rare photo of her 11-year-old daughter Apple with ex-husband Chris Martin via Instagram.

“Nothing like father/daughter love,” Paltrow captioned the image. “Happy Father’s Day to you, CAJM. Here is to all the engaged and present fathers, you create a backbone for society. We honor you all today.”

Paltrow, 42, and Martin, 38, announced their “conscious uncoupling” in March 2014. They finalized their divorce in April 2015, but continue to co-parent their two children, including son Moses, 9.

Prior to posting the above photo, Paltrow also shared a throwback photo of her late father Bruce Paltrow.

“A friend once said to me right after my father died, ‘everyone has a father, but not everyone has a daddy’. Brucie, you were both. To say that I miss you is an understatement. Happy Father’s Day to you, wherever you are. You were the best of the best,” she wrote.

Natasha Lyonne

The third season of Orange is the New Black hit Netflix about 10 days ago. Natasha Lyonne plays one of my favorite characters, Nicky Nichols, so it’s nice to see her doing promotion. Most of the show’s recent magazine covers feature Taylor Schilling because Piper is still considered the main character. She’s the trojan horse who watches all the prison drama unfold, so it makes sense that the press wants to hear from her. Laverne Cox also gets press coverage, but the show’s other actresses are interesting too.

Natasha and Samira Wiley spoke to Brazilian journalist Rafael Cortez at a junket. He warmed up by saying some random stuff about muscles to Uzo Aduba. Then it was Natasha and Samira’s turn. Cortez told them how hard it is to be both attractive and a good actress: “Beautiful ladies like you, it’s very hard to do the acting. You start to be angry and fighting with each other on those days.” As Natasha whipped out her side eye, Samira started to answer with an “I think there are some stereotypes that women are very catty on set with each other.” Well Natasha took over:

“I feel like it’s accidentally maybe a little bit misogynistic. ‘You’re so beautiful, what’s it like to have to do all that acting?’ I can’t tell if that’s the question, but if it is, it’s insane. Despite great beauty on the show, everybody is, you know, professional and talented and very capable. So I don’t think that anybody’s thinking about something as meaningless as their beauty when they’re at work or certainly not this show.”

[From YouTube]

Cortez didn’t take any of this seriously. He showed Natasha and Samira a photo of a Brazilian “actress” (“I think she’s a professional“) and asked them to get her hired on the show! He showed them a photo of Suzane von Richthofen, who is a murderess now in prison for killing her parents. He was telling a joke, perhaps, but he came off as a complete misogynist. Both Natasha and Samira had enough at this point. I’m glad Natasha schooled this guy. He probably didn’t learn anything, but this stuff needed to be said.

Here’s the cringeworthy interview clip. Natasha and Samira appear at the 1:20 mark.

All blue everything.

Confirming the rumors, Kim Kardashian reveals that she’s expecting a boy this time around with husband Kanye West.

The expectant mom, 34, broke the baby boy news late Sunday via Instagram.

“Precious moments like this when we were traveling on tour with you are what I live for,” Kim captioned the image of Kanye reading to their 2-year-old daughter North. “You’re such a good daddy to North & you will be the best daddy to our new son too!”

Also on Father’s Day, Kim posted a picture of West, 38, giving their daughter a kiss.

“I’m so lucky to be married to a man who is so in love with his daughter, your bond is so irreplaceable,” she wrote. “Thank you for being such a good dad! We love and appreciate you so much! We’re so blessed to have you!”

After a struggle to conceive, the A-listers announced the pregnancy in May. The couple’s son will arrive in December.

vaughn TD

SPOILERS for the first episode of True Detective Season 2.

I came to the True Detective party late for season 1, and I only started it once I could binge-watch it over the course of like four days. As I’ve said, I enjoyed it. I didn’t think it was the best series ever, but the acting from Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey was stellar, and they elevated what turned out to be a really fancy, artistic take on a crime procedural. I’ve also spent a few months reading stuff about Season 2 and I came into it with significantly lowered expectations. My worst case scenario was that Vince Vaughn would be the only one doing good work and considering Vince is the actor I least care about, it would suck.

So, were my expectations met after one episode? Eh. My general thoughts on the episode and the glimpse of the season to come: it’s like a mix of Chinatown and Weekend at Bernie’s. I seriously could not believe that mixed throughout the episode, we got to see a dead guy (the missing city manager) being driven around, posed like he was still living. And the plot already reminds me of Chinatown, so much so that I felt like I needed to watch Chinatown again because it’s been years since I’ve seen it. In Chinatown the conspiracy is about water in LA County. In TD Season 2, the conspiracy is about a federally funded railway being built through central California and everybody’s going to bilk the government, basically. THANKS OBAMA.

So, there’s a little something for everybody: money, power, murder, sex, Russians and Viagra. My thoughts on the acting so far…Colin Farrell has some difficulties sticking with an American accent, and his character (Velcoro) seems like he comes out of a Corrupt Cop Manual from the 1970s. He’s drunk, he’s corrupt, he’s an errand boy for what seems like a mobbed-up casino-and-real-estate magnate (Vince Vaughn’s character) and…? I don’t know, he loves his son? But even then, he calls his son a “fat p—sy” so I don’t know what to tell you.

Rachel McAdams’ character, Ani Bezzerides, seems a bit uneven so far. She’s sort of a rebel without a cause. She happens to meet up with her father – a hippie, New Age David Morse – and he efficiently summarizes her raison d’être as basically holding a grudge against him and wanting to do the opposite of whatever he does. He’s a New Age-y healer, she’s a hard-drinking cop. Blah. That was Nic Pizzolatto’s writing at its laziest. As for Taylor Kitsch’s character Paul Woodrugh… I’m not feeling it yet. During his scenes, I was mostly thinking, “Wow, his girlfriend is really pretty” and “I like her sheets.”

And yes, my suspicions were right about Vince Vaughn’s character, Frank Semyon. In a Californian No Man’s Land where all the cops are self-destructive nihilists, Vaughn’s mobbed-up casino owner has soul, depth and humanity. He genuinely cares about the cop he pays to do some dirty work (Velcoro), he loves his wife (the lovely Kelly Reilly) and he cares about his business and the people he works with. Vince is very good in the role too – it’s like a return to the dramatic actor we had a glimpse of in the ‘90s. He’s so tall and physically imposing and he can do so much acting with just his posture and his eyes.

So, will I stick with it? Probably. I do like crime procedurals and I appreciated the fact that the Weekend at Bernie’s part of the plot was wrapped up by the end of the first episode so we can start to move into the investigation. Bezzerides is going to be lead and Velcoro is her second in command. It should be interesting.

Rose McGowan

Rose McGowan has steadly worked in Hollywood for two decades. She’s not an A-lister, but she never suffers to find gigs. Rose decided she didn’t need to appear in an Adam Sandler movie after reading a wardrobe note, which was tucked into a script. Sandler’s movies are usually sexist (and racist too, although Vanilla Ice will defend them as comedies). The guys run around looking like slobs. The dudebros are fawned over by super pretty women, who are dressed all sex-ay for the men. Here’s the gross casting note as tweeted by Rose:

casting note that came w/script I got today. For real. name of male star rhymes with Madam Panhandler hahahaha I die pic.twitter.com/lCWGTV537t

— rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) June 18, 2015

Notes: Please make sure to read the attached script before coming in so you understand the context of the scenes. -Wardrobe Note: Black (or dark) form fitting tank that shows off cleavage (push up bras encouraged). And form fitting leggings or jeans. Nothing white.

[From Rose McGowan on Twitter]

Ugh. I assume this wardrobe note is for an audition because the real movie wardrobe would probably be even worse. Sandler and his casting people want to see which women will pull out the stops for this part. I’m surprised they didn’t want white clothing, so the guys could hold a wet t-shirt contest too. That’s a crude thing to say, but this is a guy who’s made millions to tell the same doody jokes for decades. Oh, and “Madam Panhandler” totally sounds like a character name for a Sandler movie. Well done, Rose.

P.S. Here’s a photo of Sandler with an uncomfortable looking Selena Gomez (and Kevin James) at the premiere of Hotel Transylvania 2. Selena’s wearing Katie Ermilio. Sandler and James are wearing schlubby clothes from their own closets.

Precious moments like this when we were traveling on tour with you are what I live for. You’re such a good daddy to North & you will be the best daddy to our new son too! ????????????????

A photo posted by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on Jun 21, 2015 at 8:58pm PDT

Well, I’m trying to figure out if I should call Kim Kardashian a “liar.” She is, of course, but it’s an understandable lie in this particular case. A few weeks ago, Us Weekly’s source claimed that Kim was definitely expecting a boy with her second pregnancy. Kim issued a carefully worded denial on Twitter, claiming that she and Kanye hadn’t told anyone the sex of the baby. Guess what? Kim and Kanye are having a boy. Kim posted the above Instagram with the message: “Precious moments like this when we were traveling on tour with you are what I live for. You’re such a good daddy to North & you will be the best daddy to our new son too!

So what does all of this mean? A) Kim and Yeezus have a leak and that leak is cat-faced, smells of sulphur, and has Lucifer on speed dial and B) Yeezus will have a male heir! It also means that the baby clothes probably won’t be as fun as when North was little, but you never know. Kanye probably wants his son to wear Chanel, Givenchy and Balmain too.

Anyway, congrats to Kim and Kanye. And congrats to Big Sister North! Poor Nori. Her only-child worldview is about to come to an abrupt end.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck seen having what appears to be a serious conversation while out shopping and having lunch with their daughters in LA

I had the chance to read US Magazine’s cover story on Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s alleged marriage problems. There were some quotes that were news to me, assuming that they’re accurate and not creative fiction. According to US’s source, Ben is somewhat henpecked and hemmed in by his wife of ten years, Jennifer Garner, who would rather he not engage in any of his favorite hobbies such as gambling, drinking and hanging out with his buddies. It doesn’t sound true to me, I’m not buying the explanation of their dynamic, but it could be a publicist’s spin on an outcome that many tabloids have been predicting. Here are some parts of US’s report that we haven’t yet covered with more background here and here:

“Jen was embarrassed and pissed off” [when Affleck was busted for counting cards last year] “She feels like she gives him an inch and he takes a mile…”

“He’s tough to be married to because he’s a workaholic… she doesn’t trust him [when he’s away]”

[When Affleck is home] “they speak in short, direct sentences to each other. They can be passive aggressive and dismissive. The only things they talk about are the kids’ schedules or their own schedules…”

“In their dynamic, Jen is the dominating force, which is hard for Ben to deal with… I’ve heard her being dismissive of him.” (In front of the children, however, they’re nothing but cordial. “The kids don’t know anything,” says the Garner source. “Ben and Jen don’t let on to their problems at all.”)

“He likes hanging out with the guys, he likes having a beer and he likes to play some card games… Jen would like it if he never did these things, but that’s who he is.” (A rep for Affleck declined to comment on this sort; Garner’s rep could not be reached.)

“Splitting up is Jennifer’s worst nightmare for the children. Her biggest desire has always been to keep the family together… but there’s only so much she can do. There comes a point where she just has to take care of herself and the children.”

[From US Magazine, print edition, June 29, 2015]

To add more credence to these stories, moving vans were spotted outside their mansion. You can see the photos on The Daily Mail, which reports that movers were seen putting furniture and boxes into the vans.

Shortly after outlets pointed out that moving trucks were outside the Afflecks, People Magazine ran an article claiming the two were renovating house. People reports that the two are “remodeling their home, and moving furniture out before construction begins.” Their house is enormous by most people’s standards, so it’s entirely possible that they could be getting something done in one section while living in another. Still, given the fact that divorce rumors have reached a fever pitch, it’s suspicious.

Last week, Zara Phillips (married name: Zara Tindall) caused a stir at the Royal Ascot when she made an appearance in this incredibly unflattering yellow Paul Costelloe dress. Ordinarily, just the fact that the dress is yellow would be enough for me to hate it, but the shade of yellow actually looked good on Zara. But the dress was still poorly designed, poorly tailored and simply wrong for Zara’s athletic build. The high waist and excess fabric made everyone speculate that Zara was knocked up again – she welcomed her daughter, Mia Grace, in January 2014, a year and a half after Zara won a silver medal at the London Olympics.

As you can imagine, the pregnancy speculation was unwelcome. Zara’s spokesperson told media outlets: “Zara is not pregnant – her plans remain the same in terms of preparation for Rio 2016.” As in, Zara plans on competing as an equestrian next year at the Rio Olympics. So, Zara is not preggo and has no plans to have another child until after the Olympics next year. Was it rude for all of the British sites to run pregnancy speculation? Yes… but I see why they did it. It legitimately looks like she has a baby bump, and by that I mean that this is a really unflattering dress.

Meanwhile, Zara chatted this weekend with the Sunday Times about how she’s seen as more “normal” than the rest of the royal family.

The 34-year-old granddaughter of the Queen said she enjoys being perceived as more ordinary than some of her famous family. In an interview with the Times, Zara said: “That’s nice. I’ve been very lucky. My parents didn’t give us titles, so we’ve been able to have a slightly more ‘normal’ upbringing. As soon as you’ve got a title it’s very difficult to shed it.”

She added: “My brother and I have been very lucky like that, being able to find our own way.”

Zara – who has one-year-old daughter Mia with husband Mike Tindall – also revealed she doesn’t even consider herself to be royal.

“Probably not, but then they are my family, so I obviously kind of am,” she conceded.

[From Express]

Yeah, she’s not really royal in that she doesn’t have a title, she married a “commoner” who didn’t take a title (I think the Queen offered Mike Tindall a title) and Zara’s daughter doesn’t have a title. But still, Zara’s grandmother is the Queen, Zara’s uncle will be king and Zara’s cousin will be king. So she’s right in there. And yes, people do see Zara and her brother Peter as more “normal” than the royals.
