If you remember Kim Kardashian’s first pregnancy, you might remember that it was something of ongoing joke in the tabloids that Kim and Kanye were considering naming their child “North”. Everyone had a good laugh about it and Kim denied the stories outright for months. And then Yeezus and Kim named their daughter North and everyone was like, “Damn, that just happened.” So with this pregnancy, people have been throwing out names like South West, Easton West, etc, because why not? Well, Kim appeared on NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me,” which is a longer conversation than we have time for (the highlight: Why in the world did NPR agree to put Kim on a program?!). She was quizzed about baby names and other stuff. Some highlights:
Kim denies the rumor that she’s having a boy: “We actually haven’t told anyone the sex. So I heard that we’re having a boy. I heard that we’re having twins. I heard that I’m not even carrying my own baby. I’ve heard so many things and most of that information is not true.”
Being offered the name Kadoul, Sudanese word for south: “I don’t like South West, though, because that’s like – you know, North will always, you know, be better… And be more – she has a better direction….so I wouldn’t do that. I don’t think we’ll go with another direction.
Hearing all of the suggestions of “South West”: “I mean, everyone keeps on saying South, and I think it’s so stupid. Stupidest thing ever and just ridiculous.
[From NPR]
“Stupidest thing ever and just ridiculous” – stupider than naming your firstborn child NORTH WEST? More ridiculous than naming your child after a defunct airline? And I don’t even believe her – I think directional names ARE in the mix because the lady doth protest too much. She probably is expecting a boy and they’ll name him Easton Wilde West or something. You can hear Kim’s NPR interview here.

Sporting skinnies and stripes, Kate Middleton stepped out with 22-month-old son Prince George in Gloucestershire, England on Sunday (June 14).
Donning a dark blue and white striped 3/4-sleeved tee and rolled up blue skinny jeans, the Duchess of Cambridge, 33, and Prince William, 32, brought their royal tot to the Beaufort Polo Club.
The lil’ prince played with his mother on the grass as his dad participated in a match.
The royal toddler stole the show in a blue V-neck cardigan over a white collared shirt, dark blue shorts and blue Crocs.
The day before, the royal couple were photographed with their son who made his Buckingham Palace balcony debut.
Baby sister, Princess Charlotte, was not spotted at either event.
Last week, Kensington Palace released four official photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

On Friday, Angelina Jolie was in South Africa to attend a panel discussion and make a speech about sexual/gender violence in conflict. Jolie co-hosted the huge summit on Sexual Violence in Conflict last summer, and this appearance was an extension of her ongoing work. Like she did in London, Angelina appealed with William Hague, the now former Secretary of State of Great Britain. Hague and Jolie are tight, and have been close allies and friends for several years now. His continued involvement with this issue (even now that he’s out of office) makes me believe that he really cares about violence against women in a real way.
Superficial note: Angelina’s grey dress in these photos is by Michael Kors. She really doesn’t look like she’s wearing much makeup and her continued work with these causes is not “glamorous.” And I love that about her. The other woman in these photos is African Union Commission chairperson Nkosasana Dlamini-Zuma. The conference in Johannesburg was part of the annual African Union Summit.
As I said, Jolie gave a speech about violence against women, specifically within war or conflict zones. She said, in part: “There is a global epidemic of violence against women – both within conflict zones and within societies at peace – and it is still treated as a lesser crime and lower priority…The near-total impunity that exists worldwide for crimes against women, in conflict zones in particular, means that we are seeing more and more armed groups turn it into their weapon of choice. Women and girls are bearing the brunt of extremists that revel in treating them barbarically. This is inextricably linked to our overall failure to prevent and end conflicts worldwide, which is causing human suffering on an unprecedented level.” I’m including a video below – skip ahead to the one-minute mark to see part of her speech.

Brandi Glanville did an interview with William Shatner… for some reason. It was part of Ora TV’s Brown Bag Wine Tasting, and since “wine” is right there in the title, I’m assuming Brandi was on her way to being pretty hammered when this interview took place. There are lots of juicy quotes from the piece, some about Brandi’s current dating life, some about her marriage to Eddie Cibrian, and some about divorce in general. Here are some highlights:
On her marriage to Eddie: “He had extra girlfriends, I guess you can say. He had some ladies on the side.”
She tried to forgive him: “I tried but when I found out there was more than a couple, I decided I was better off on my own.”
The divorce: “It’s almost like a death. You mourn, you die a little bit. Who you were as a wife and a mother, you’re no longer that person. It took me about a year to figure out that it had nothing to do with me. But it took a while… I was wondering how I could be any better than I was. Was I not tall enough? Skinny enough? Are my boobs not big enough? Should I have blue eyes? It was all of that. It made me a better person to go through that. And to figure out that it had nothing to do with me.”
Her current love life: “I just broke up with my boyfriend on the way here, via text… He was annoying me.”
Don’t call it “making love”: “I wouldn’t call it making love. When you’re doing stuff that’s a little kinkier, I call it f–king. That’s just how I say it. When people say making love—like when guys say ‘I want to make love to you’ I’m like ‘You don’t even know me. You’re a mangina.’”
[From E! News and Us Weekly]
I like that she’s past the point of calling out Eddie’s mistresses specifically. She can’t really avoid mentioning the fact that Eddie had multiple mistresses while they were married, especially when she’s asked about the whole reason that we know who she is, but I’m glad she’s past the point where she’s calling out mistresses by name. And “mangina” is just sort of juvenile, which is probably why it made me smile.

In Touch Weekly has yet to outdo their first series of Duggar stories. Which is both good and bad news. It’s good news because hopefully Josh Duggar’s year of molestations ended back in 2003 and nothing bad has happened within the family since. It’s bad news because there’s still the feeling that there’s another shoe to drop, and it will probably involve the current Arkansas DHS investigation about the family. In the meantime, In Touch is still releasing information gained from their FOIA requests. They even got their hands on an email sent by the police chief of Springdale, Arkansas, Kathy O’Kelley. That the same police chief that the Duggars claimed had some kind of “agenda” against them and “illegally” released information to In Touch.
The fallout from the Duggars’ sexual molestation scandal and damage control interviews continues, as In Touch magazine has learned exclusively that the Springdale, Arkansas police chief accused the family of slandering her. Jim Bob Duggar was asked by Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on June 3 if he knew of “any motivation” for police chief Kathy O’Kelley “to want to hurt your family.”
Jim Bob threw out the possibility that the chief had been bribed to release the police report of a 2006 felony investigation into Josh Duggar for multiple counts of sexual molestation. Amazingly, Kelly did not challenge the assertion. (The police report was released to In Touch magazine through a Freedom of Information Act request, after city attorneys determined the information was public under state law.)
“I think I have been slandered and wonder what they will say next,” Kelly wrote in a June 4 email, obtained exclusively by In Touch magazine via another FOIA request.
O’Kelley, writing to a government colleague, said in her email: “…missed last night [the Duggar interview]…not sure they had a good pr firm or how they arrived at pointing the finger of blame at me – I think I have been slandered and wonder what they will say next.”
Jim Bob later claimed that O’Kelley had a “personal agenda” to get him before she retired. Springdale mayor Doug Sprouse called the Duggars’ comments “outrageous and categorically false” in a June 8 statement that did not mention the family by name. The Duggars have not retracted their comments about the police chief.
[From In Touch Weekly]
At the very least, Kathy O’Kelley could teach the Duggars what “slander” actually means, because this is the first time it’s been used properly in this whole situation. Jim-Bob, Michelle, Jessa and Jill all use the word improperly – they think “slander” means “someone saying something true and provable.” I would love it if this issue went further.
What else? The Hollywood Reporter sent a reporter down to Arkansas to do a “how the town is reacting to the Duggar stories” piece – you can read it here. The town is pretty pro-Duggar and most of the people don’t seem to realize how stupidly hypocritical they are. THR points out that all the “deeply religious” people are wringing their hands over Caitlyn Jenner (even the Baptist minister cast judgment on Caitlyn’s transition) but those are the same people saying the Duggars should be forgiven. Like, “only Jesus can judge the Duggars” but all of the proud Baptists are condemning Caitlyn to hell.
Jim-Bob and Michelle have also had to cancel an appearance at a “homeschooling conference” in Colorado this month. They cited “recent attacks” on their family as the reason for the cancellation. You can read more about it here.

Kristen Stewart has been dating for Alicia Cargile for more than a year. Alicia is the only person Kristen has stepped out with publicly in the past year, and by all accounts, they live together, vacation together, party together and they are a couple in every way. Most media outlets have been hesitant to refer to Alicia as anything other than “Kristen’s gal-pal” or “Kristen’s roommate” or whatever. But it always felt like Kristen’s actions were pretty clear – they were dating, they were together, they were girlfriends. And now Kristen’s mom Jules Stewart has come right out and said it.
Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has found new love – with her personal assistant Alicia Cargile. The star’s mum Jules Stewart has given her blessing to the relationship, which comes two years after Kristen, 25, split from long-term love Robert Pattinson, 29. Jules, 55, told the Sunday Mirror she has met Alicia and that the couple are very happy together.
She added: “What’s not to be accepting about her now having a girlfriend? She’s happy. She’s my daughter, I’m just her mom so she knows I would accept her choices. I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.”
Jules, who also has a Hollywood career as a script supervisor, added: “I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men. It’s OK to be who you are in my world. We all choose our friends so we should be free to choose our lovers. People are good to do whatever they like as long as they’re not hurting people or breaking the law. I have gay friends, family members, I’m accepting of people, we are all free to choose who we want to love.”
Martial arts nut Kristen’s relationship with Twilight co-star R-Patz ended after she was seen kissing married Rupert Sanders, 44, who directed her in Snow White and the Huntsman. Since then she has kept her love life under wraps. Meanwhile Pattinson is now said to be engaged to singer FKA twigs, 27 – and it was claimed this week he will even invite Kristen to his wedding.
Jules said of Kristen’s new love: “They were a great couple, but she’s 25 years old and I’d like to see her have a lot more life experience before she chooses someone to settle down with. I’m very sad that Kristen and Robert didn’t have a chance to be alone together, they had to have the whole world with them and all the public stuff ruined everything, life became overwhelming. But Kristen has learnt to handle her emotions and deal with her problems through the martial arts.”
[From The Daily Mirror]
… Through the martial arts? Kristen got over Sparkles by learning martial arts. Sure. As for Jules coming right out and saying that Kristen has a girlfriend… as I said, we really have known that for a while. It also feels like Jules is saying Kristen self-identifies as bisexual too – “I accept my daughter loves women and men.” So when Kristen dated Robert Pattinson, it was real, just as her romantic relationship with Alicia is real. Will people accept that at face value? Or will there still be conspiracies about Kristen’s “real” sexuality?
