I can’t believe my conspiracy theory was right – Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner, covers the July issue of Vanity Fair. VF just dropped the cover. This is Caitlyn’s big public debut as a woman, and since Jenner is now telling us what she wants to be called and that she’s publicly identifying as a woman, we should all begin using “she/her” and the name Caitlyn Jenner.
Meet Caitlyn Jenner, Vanity Fair’s July cover star. Pulitzer Prize–winning contributing editor and author of Friday Night Lights Buzz Bissinger, who was given unfettered access to Jenner and her family, chronicles the tensions, traumas, and courage that shaped Caitlyn into the woman you see today. Annie Leibovitz shoots the first portraits of Caitlyn, which were taken in her Malibu home.
Jenner speaks movingly about her journey, telling Bissinger, “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.’ ”
[From Vanity Fair]
Caitlyn’s journey is extraordinary and I have to think that what she’s done and how she’s revealed herself so publicly will be an overwhelmingly good thing for the trans community. I only have one funny/gossipy thing to say: I’m enjoying the fact that Jenner went with a name with a “K” sound for her name, which goes with her family. I’m surprised she didn’t go with a K-spelling too, Kaitlyn.
Caitlyn also has a new Twitter account! After her first tweet, debuting this cover, she tweeted this:
I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.

Congratulations are in order for Marisa Miller and Griffin Guess.
The former Victoria’s Secret model, 36, and her record producer husband welcomed their second child – son Grayson Lee – she announced via Instagram Monday.
The model mom confirmed the happy news with PEOPLE. Her second son arrived on Friday, May 29 in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Born at 11:23 p.m., son Grayson Lee Bazyl Guess weighed 8 lbs., 14 oz., and measured 21 inches long.
The newborn joins big brother Gavin Lee, 2.
“My son Grayson is healthy and such a sweet baby. I feel so blessed and excited to see both my boys grow up together,” the proud mom tells the mag.
She adds: “I felt very prepared for labor this time around. I was a little anxious as to when it would happen though. Having a toddler at home, you have more to organize to make sure everything is taken care of while you’re gone at the hospital.”
Miller admits the labor was “so intense and the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”
She goes on to reveal that their son was born in the caul, meaning his face and head were completely enclosed in the amniotic sac.
“In honor of such a cool thing, we gave him the second middle name Bazyl, which means Kingly,” she shares. “The veiled birth’s meaning is coined as ‘Kings by right,’ so we felt it was a perfect opportunity to make his name reflect a cool story like this. And yes, that is a dimple on that baby’s smiling face!”
Congratulations to the Miller-Guess family!

An expectant Jaime King shared an updated baby bump photo via Instagram.
“I’m waiting for you baby…. Thank you to my beautiful husband for the gift of life and loving. (PS i don’t suggest wearing heels pregnant, only for a few seconds of fun),” the Hart of Dixie star, 36, captioned the image in a white body suit with matching heels.
Last week, the mom-to-be and husband Kyle Newman attended a special screening of their film Barely Lethal. The couple – who expect their second child this summer – were joined by their son James, 19 months.
“Getting pregnant is such a celebration of femininity and a celebration of your growing body,” Jaime recently dished. “In a way, it’s the only time you don’t have to suck in and the only time that it doesn’t matter really how big you are or what your body looks like. You can wear formfitting clothes, and you can wear things that show off how your body has changed. Your breasts and everything get bigger, and I think that’s a beautiful sign of fertility and something that should be, again, accentuated and celebrated.”
She added: “What I decided when I got pregnant is that if anything, I’m going to have more fun with my fashion, because I love dressing, I love taking risks, and why not show the world that it’s okay, you can really go there? Just because you are a mom doesn’t mean you can’t be cool and fashionable. It doesn’t mean you can’t have your own sense of individuality and creativity. You can still have all that and more, because it’s the ultimate creativity, having a baby.”
I’m waiting for you baby…. Thank you to my beautiful husband for the gift of life and loving. (PS i don’t suggest wearing heels pregnant, only for a few seconds of fun)

True story: last week, I realized that I would probably need to know what I was talking about with the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, so I just ordered the second and third books over the weekend. I read the first one a few years ago and I hated it so much that I swore I wouldn’t finish the trilogy. But anything for the job, right? I will hate-read the books. And then I will hate-read the new book E.L. James has written. She just announced that a new Christian Grey will be released on June 18, which is Christian Grey’s birthday (for the love of God…). It will be the same story (??) told through Christian’s perspective.
And the saga continues. Author E. L. James will be releasing a new “Fifty Shades of Grey” novel written from character Christian Grey’s point of view. The book, titled “Grey,” will be published on June 18 — Grey’s birthday. James has dedicated the book “to those readers who asked… and asked… and asked… and asked for this.”
“Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past,” James said in a press release. “Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place-writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage.”
“Grey” will be published in paperback and as an eBook by Vintage Books, an imprint of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group — a division of Penguin Random House.
“Fifty Shades of Grey is a love story that has enthralled readers in a way that few books have,” said Vintage Books publisher and James’ editor, Anne Messitte. “When Erika mentioned to me that she wanted to explore Christian’s viewpoint and re-open the story, I was incredibly excited for her and for her readers. This book has all the compelling attributes of its predecessors, and I can’t wait for Fifty Shades fans to experience the work again from a perspective they have long desired.”
[From Variety]
Let me translate Anne Messitte’s statement: “It shocked me that EL’s drivel actually made so much money, so we’ve all schemed for a way to make even more money, because pandering to the desires of stupid people has made us all rich!!” I wonder if Christian Grey’s narration involves a lot of crying over nothing, references to inner goddesses and “down there.” I wonder if Christian is just as ridiculous as Anastasia, basically. He would have to be. In my mind, E.L. James wrote this in a month and the editor “proofread” it after ten tequila shots.

We spent the last few weeks discussing Archie Panjabi’s exit from The Good Wife – go here to read my post about her last episode. For years now, there seemed to be a lot of quiet drama behind-the-scenes at The Good Wife, as “someone” actively tried to push Archie’s character Kalinda away from major storylines and away from the lead character, Alicia, played by Julianna Margulies. I’ll admit that I’ve been following the conspiracies and rumors for a while now, and I believe many of them. Many people say that Julianna has been trying to get Archie off the show for years, and many say that Julianna is the one with the problem, not Archie. When Archie was asked flat-out if her last scene was actually filmed with Julianna on the set, even Archie couldn’t defend it, basically saying that none of it was her call.
But what if Archie was the one creating problems all along? Eh. That’s what In Touch Weekly posited in their newest issue:
On The Good Wife, Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi play best friends — but in real life, the two ladies are enemies! Which explains why the costars haven’t shared a scene since 2013…
“Archie created a hostile environment,” a source tells In Touch, noting that the 43-year-old — who has since left the show — allegedly treated the crew like her personal employees.
The source adds, “She has an abusive nature. Once, she even slammed a door in Julianna’s face!”
Apparently the 48-year-old star of the show wasn’t the only one who had drama with Archie.
“Everyone despised Archie onset,” the source adds. “They called her the ‘diva from hell.’”
[From In Touch Weekly]
I’m sure the crew did say something about a “diva from hell” but I’m not sure they were saying it about Archie. Archie always had a good reputation on The Good Wife, with the producers and writers publicly praising her professionalism. She also has a good reputation on all the projects she’s worked on in the past – she and Gillian Anderson get along really well on The Fall, and Archie left CBS with a lucrative development deal already in place at Fox. And for what it’s worth, Archie denied it herself:
Complete and utter rubbish!

As Pajiba noted too – it seems like The Good Wife has a lot of issues keeping supporting players, from Josh Charles to Matthew Goode (who is not coming back). It feels like there IS a “difficult” cast member… and it’s not Archie.

Jaden Smith hasn’t attended traditional school in several years, but he loves going to prom. He recently dressed as a caped superhero to escort a friend to her fanciest shindig. He attended another prom this past weekend with Hunger Games‘ Amandla Stenberg (she played the tragic Rue). Jaden’s made a habit of showing his fondness for wearing skirts and well-placed flowers. He combined all of these elements here.
I’m including several photos from Amandla’s Instagram. She and Jaden made a gorgeous couple (although they’re just friends, maybe). Jaden decided to go formal for this event with a long white skirt under a black tunic. The sneakers are okay, but combat boots would have been better. Some people think Jaden’s simply begging for attention, but he once told Billboard that he only dresses for himself: “If somebody is just wearing something for the blogs, that’s really sad because they’re not living for themselves, versus someone wearing a kimono who’s having an awesome time.” Most importantly, Jaden’s ensemble doesn’t overshadow Amandla’s dress. He’s just chilling and having a good time.
Hopefully, Jaden and Amandla danced the night away. His long formal skirt would prohibit quick movement, but there are few things that bring as much joy as a dancing Jaden Smith.
here’s to highschool
