Arrow star Stephen Amell posted a cute photo with daughter Mavi, 19 months, via Instagram Thursday.
“Flying halfway across the world is easy cause this,” the proud papa, 34, captioned the beach action shot.
The Canadian actor and his wife, One Tree Hill alum Cassandra Jean, were seen enjoying their holiday in Marbella, Spain on Friday (May 22). Joined by some friends, the couple hit the beach while sipping on some beverages and checking their phones.
Amell is set to play Casey Jones in the sequel to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film in 2016. As well, he is costarring with Susan Sarandon in the film adaption of the novel, Whatever Makes You Happy.

Mindy Kaling has talked about her “weird as hell” relationship with B.J. Novak a lot in the past year. When she was on Howard Stern’s show last summer, Stern asked her a lot of questions about her love life, and Mindy ended up making headlines because she honestly described being dumped by Novak when she was 24 years old and how devastating it was for her, because she thought they would get married. She also talked about Novak in her recent InStyle Magazine cover story, saying: “He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend. I guess you could describe our relationship as a ‘romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments.’”
Whatever is going on with them, I don’t really think it’s healthy. I think they love each other and Mindy is still into him and he’s maybe playing some games. Like, I think he cares about her and he doesn’t want her to be with anyone else, but he still doesn’t want to be her boyfriend. We’ve all had relationships like that, but usually those relationships are when you’re college-aged and angsty and worried about things getting “too real.” For Mindy and Novak to continue this pattern well into their mid-to-late 30s is… weird as hell. And now they’re going to write a book about it.
Mindy’s next project is going to be a whopper. Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak will make $7.5 million for penning a book about their off-and-on romance, according to a well-placed publishing industry source. We’re told the book is likely to include juicy information about “The Office” stars’ “complicated” courtship, which coincided with their roles on the NBC comedy, which ran from 2005-13.
“It’s a crazy price!” our source said. We’re told that lofty amount will be shelled out by a division of Random House. It would rank somewhere between what a heavyweight like Lena Dunham and a superheavyweight Hillary Clinton might collect. We’re told the book’s title will likely be announced May 30 at the Javits Center, where the pair are to appear at BookCon. We’re told the formal announcement of the book was supposed to have been “a surprise,” which means this article will be an even bigger one. Until now, that May 30 event was being billed as a chat about Kaling’s second book of essays, “Why Not Me?” The collection follows up on her 2011 best seller, “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)”
Kaling soon may have fodder for another book after this is all over. While the collaboration with Novak is to be published by a yet-to-be-named Random House imprint, her essay collection is being put out Sept. 29 by Crown Books — a direct competitor. There’s a rumor among publishing insiders that Random House could be using Kaling and Novak’s book to launch a new imprint that could appeal to authors with sensibilities and followings similar to those of the two “Office” stars.

Wow, relationship drama AND publishing drama. Well, as long as they’re making some kind of profit along the line, more power to them. But it feels like public foreplay, like they’re going to be airing all of their relationship drama in public and maybe that will force them to finally admit that they should be together. As I said, I think Mindy is already there – she wants to be with Novak. He’s the withholder.
Oh, and Hulu has picked up The Mindy Project and they’ve already ordered 26 new episodes!!! THR had a very interesting story about how the deal came together – Kaling nurtured her relationship with the Hulu brass for a long time, and when TMP was on the bubble again this year, she was already talking to Hulu executives about picking up the show. Good for her!

Last week, George Clooney and Amal went out to dinner with Julia Roberts. George and Julia have been working together in NYC on Jodie Foster’s new film, Money Monster. After the dinner, Julia publicly gave Amal her stamp of approval, although that doesn’t really mean much. I mean, Julia Roberts deigned to mention someone other than Julia Roberts, so that is newsworthy, but let’s not pretend that George and Julia and Amal and Danny Moder are now besties and double-dates. It’s not that I think Julia doesn’t play well with other women, nor do I think Amal has the same problem – I think both women are simply used to being the center of attention, the queen of all. I can just imagine that the dinner was a minefield of passive-aggressive shade and goose-honk laughing.
Now Star Magazine is getting in on it. Because two women will never be able to get along (even if I agree that these particular women probably don’t care for each other).
George Clooney is desperately trying to act as peacemaker between Julia Roberts and his wife, Amal! Julia is fuming that Amal keeps showing up on the NYC set of ‘Money Monster’, even bringing her parents and sister, Tala, to meet the cast.
“Julia tolerated it the first time,” dishes an insider. “But Amal keeps dropping by and interrupting filming. Everything grinds to a halt and it’s driving Julia crazy!”
George heard Julia’s gripes and took the two women out to a swanky dinner to smooth over tensions. While he claims that the pair have “become good friends,” insiders say Julia is just playing nice… for now.
[From Star Magazine, print edition]
See? Julia’s mad because Amal is pulling focus from the most important person on the set: Julia Roberts!! Honestly though, Amal has only made a handful of pap-friendly stops to the New York set, so it doesn’t really feel like Amal is there constantly, enough to annoy Julia. But anyone trying to pull focus from Julia for any amount of time will always be The Enemy!
Julia also deigned to participate in a skit for NBC’s Red Nose Day. It was sort of funny but the bit went on too long.

This is just a nice photo of Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult posing together (with director Bryan Singer) on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse. The film will be JLaw’s last run as Mystique. This picture makes me feel nostalgic for the halcion days before Martin Lawrence struck last June. Chris Martin and JLaw are still going strong and splitting desserts (the horror). Hoult is reportedly dating Dianna Agron, who recently started a month-long theater run in London. (FYI, Dianna’s starring in McQueen, and the critics have not been kind). So Jennifer and Hoult are both dating other people. It’s wrong for me to hope they’ll dump their significant others and get back together, but I can’t help but pull for them.
More Jennifer news. Her Dior role has expanded to include makeup, and the house debuted her first promo image for Dior Addict lipsticks. She’ll appear in print ads and television commericals. The line isn’t new (it launched in 2011 with Kate Moss as its first spokesperson). A fart-loving girl from Kentucky now occupies the same shoes as Mossy. Funny how things work out, and now we know why JLaw wore such overstated makeup at the Met Gala.
I’m also including some recent pictures of JLaw and Nick (separately) in LA earlier this month. JLaw went shopping with her scruffy little dog, Pippi. Hoult was in town to promote Mad Max: Fury Road on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.
