Here are some photos of Maggie Gyllenhaal at the Gracie Awards a few nights ago. I’m still not feeling that haircut, and I’m not really feeling the Maleficent dress either. To me, Maggie has a baby face. She’s 37 years old, but I think she could probably pass for 30. Like, if she was cast as a 30 year old, I would probably believe that. I would also believe it if she was cast as a woman in her 40s, just because in interviews, Maggie does come across as older and more mature. What’s my point? Maggie could play any character from the ages of 30 to 45, pretty much. But for some reason, some Hollywood executive or producer told her that she was “too old” to play the spouse of a 55-year-old man. What the hell?

Maggie Gyllenhaal, an Oscar nominee getting Emmy buzz for her work on the Sundance miniseries “The Honourable Woman,” reveals that she was recently turned down for a role in a movie because she was too old to play the love interest for a 55-year-old man. No kidding.

“There are things that are really disappointing about being an actress in Hollywood that surprise me all the time,” she said during an interview for an upcoming issue of TheWrap Magazine. “I’m 37 and I was told recently I was too old to play the lover of a man who was 55. It was astonishing to me. It made me feel bad, and then it made feel angry, and then it made me laugh.”

Gyllenhaal declined to specify the project on which she was considered too old, but we’re wide open to suggestions. What’s casting out there with a 55-year-old leading man?

And despite the recent slam, Gyllenhaal said she was hopeful for women. “A lot of actresses are doing incredible work right now, playing real women, complicated women,” said the actress, who won a Golden Globe in January for her role in “The Honourable Woman” as an Anglo-Israeli businesswoman. “I don’t feel despairing at all. And I’m more looking with hope for something fascinating.”

Sadly, I bet most actresses in their 30s have similar stories. When you have Jennifer Lawrence playing a character who is supposed to be a mid-30s housewife, then all the system is pretty screwed up. When a 37 year old is considered “too old” to play against a 55-year-old man, then the system is pretty screwed up. Shall we burn it all down and start anew?

During a Wednesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson praised her sons Brandon, 18, and Dylan, 17, as “gentlemen.”

“I’m really fortunate because it could have been a disaster,” the 47-year-old actress said of her boys.

“They’re genetically loaded,” Anderson added of her sons with Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

But the actress says her boys are “great kids.”

“I’m so proud of them, that they’re such gentlemen,” she gushed. “They spoil everybody rotten. They spoil me rotten. They’re just real sweethearts.”

The proud mom went on to talk about her sons. “My youngest is a real romantic,” she shared. “My oldest, the phone doesn’t stop ringing.”

The mom-of-two recently hit the red carpet with Brandon, who “goes to university next year.”

“I kept them out of the spotlight their whole lives,” said Anderson. “I thought I’d bring him to the Gunman premiere that he wanted to go to. And, yes, it caused a lot of…he doesn’t need anymore confidence! He got a lot of attention over that.”

Anderson, who recently divorced Rick Salomon for the second time, says she doesn’t give her sons dating advice.

“They don’t give me dating advice either,” she said. “They should.”

Here are some additional photos from Prince William’s appearance yesterday to meet the England’s women’s football team on their way to the World Cup. I covered some of these photos yesterday, where we discussed the new rumor that Duchess Kate is a “prickly princess” and William’s courtiers are trying to convince her to do more work.

Anyway, the football team gave William a gift for Princess Charlotte – a little football jersey with her name! Which is adorable. The captain of the team, Steph Houghton, told People Mag that the ladies asked William about his children and whether Charlotte was keeping them up all night: “He was saying he’s obviously really enjoying being a father and Princess Charlotte is actually keeping him up – and probably why his eyes are looking a little bit tired.” William also told the ladies that George will probably be playing football soon enough because George “never stops moving.” What do you want to bet that George is having some issues with no longer being the most important person in the house?

As for Kate and her “prickly princess” ways, Us Weekly says that Pippa Middleton has arranged for Kate to get something special in the country: “Pippa arranged to have fresh juices delivered to Kate every three days. It was a surprise treat. Kate used to blend her own juices and this is much easier.” Juices as in smoothies, which Kate is said to love. A source tells Us Weekly that Kate is not dieting (BS) but “She just enjoys green juice in the morning. It’s Kate’s go-to for an extra boost.” Kate is also a devotee of local organic produce, which she shops for herself at a small farm stand called Back to the Garden. And if you believe that Kate is shopping for her own organic produce right now, bless your heart.

Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron was spotted with son Jackson, 3, in West Hollywood, Calif. on Wednesday (May 20).

Joined by the nanny, the single mom, 39, picked up her preschooler from karate class before heading home.

The Academy Award-winning actress spent the weekend at the Cannes Film Festival and the 2015 Life Ball in Vienna before returning home to L.A. earlier this week.

The Monster actress recently opened up about the possibility of marrying her “hot” beau, fellow actor Sean Penn.

“The marriage thing is always so strange to me. I love the possibility of anything, but I’m really enjoying myself and the everyday moment and how that coincides with my son and my life and my friends,” she shared.

We always have requests for MOAR Matt Bomer, and we’ve had requests for coverage of Matt’s family vacation in Maui. So here you go: Matt Bomer shirtless with his husband, Simon Halls. I assume their kids are there too (they have three kids: Walker, Kit and Henry), but I don’t see any photos of them. Besides, why would you want to look at anyone but Matt Bomer?

Regarding Matt’s general beauty and physique… I basically watched White Collar for five seasons because Matt Bomer is beautiful and physically perfect in every way. True story: I ended up with a big crush on Bomer’s costar Tim DeKay as well, and DeKay always talked about how Bomer was beautiful and in crazy-awesome shape. Like, Bomer is ALL muscle. As you can see.

This is probably a nice family vacation for them before Matt has to go on the road to promote Magic Mike XXL. Hopefully Matt’s part in this film is a lot bigger. I actually liked the first Magic Mike, but I wanted more Bomer!

PS… I wonder if people are still mad that Bomer wasn’t cast as Christian Grey? After seeing these photos, I’m a little bit mad about it.

We joke a lot about Taylor Swift around here, and that obviously makes us terribly anti-feminist, anti-woman and anti-kitty. But that’s the problem, isn’t it? If we let Taylor Swift run the conversation, then she will never develop a key sense of self-awareness, and she will never understand that she makes bad decisions for herself with her love life. Granted, those “bad decisions” have her laughing all the way to the bank. But let’s make the argument that she is genuinely looking for love, looking for a partner, looking for a real relationship. Is Calvin Harris that guy? Well, look at his own romantic history, which is just as drama-filled as Swifty’s. Whatever is happening between them, it probably won’t last. But they are in the full throttle of love, and that might include writing songs about their love together. Because they are each other’s muse.

They made their first public appearance together at the Billboard Awards over the weekend. But its seems Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have been loved up for a lot longer than that. The couple, who started dating in March, are apparently writing songs together, as they are “slowly becoming each other’s muses”.

You may remember Calvin wrote a song with his ex girlfriend Rita Ora which did not end well when they publically rowed about it after their split. Anyway a source said of Taylor and Calvin: “They’re crazy about each other, but are really stimulated by their unique approaches to songwriting. They’re slowly becoming each other’s muses.”

The duo started playing music together during a low-key date night at Taylor’s mansion in Beverly Hills, California. The insider said: “They often end up in fits of laughter, but they’ve come up with some very interesting melodies and lyrics and she wants to record some of them.”

I have no doubt that Taylor Swift is already writing songs about Calvin Harris and she’s probably even got some lyrics hidden away for when they do break up. But Calvin? Using Tay-Tay as a muse? The very thought of it made me a little bit sick to my stomach. It’s not that I think so highly of Calvin Harris as a songwriter/producer (although “Sweet Nothing” is everything), but… I mean, Calvin and Taylor are just apples and oranges when it comes to music. Maybe that’s the name of Taylor’s song. “Apples & Oranges.” He said I was his apple/Baby meet me at the chapel/He’s my orange in every way/all he needs to do is stay. I think I just wrote Swifty’s new #1 hit.
