This is going to shock you: TOM BRADY LIED!! I know, I know. It’s the least shocking thing in the world. Back in January, just a few weeks before the SuperBowl, #Deflategate became a thing. The backstory: when the Colts lost to the Patriots, the Colts were like, “Hey, the Patriots’ balls felt really underinflated.” They complained and the NFL launched an investigation. As it turns out, the Patriots-supplied footballs were underinflated, below NFL-standards. There was a debate about whether one team would really and truly get an advantage from underinflated balls, which didn’t make much sense to me because… obviously, the balls would be easier to handle if they were underinflated, right?
In any case, the scandal grew over the course of a week until Tom Brady, the Patriots’ Golden Boy, came out for one of the most bizarre press conferences I’ve ever witnessed. Even an amateur body-language reader (like me) could tell that Brady was lying his ass off when he denied any knowledge of the Patriots deflated balls. So, the NFL’s “independent investigation” was still “ongoing” but the Patriots still got to play in the SuperBowl and they ended up winning. So now that several months have passed, the NFL finally released their findings. And Tom Brady LIED. About BALLS.
New England Patriots personnel likely manipulated the air pressure of the footballs used in the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, a report by independent investigator Ted Wells concluded. The report, released Wednesday, found “it is more probable than not that New England Patriots personnel participated in violations of the Playing Rules and were involved in a deliberate effort to circumvent the rules.” The report also states that it is probable Tom Brady “was at least generally aware of… the release of air from Patriots game balls.”
The report found that officials’ locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski “participated in a deliberate effort to release air from Patriots game balls after the balls were examined by the referee.”
The NFL is considering discipline for Brady, McNally and Jastremski, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
At a press conference in January, Brady said he “didn’t alter the balls in any way” and “would never have someone do something that was outside the rules.”
[From Sports Illustrated]
Is this a big deal? I’m asking that as someone who has no f—ks to give about the NFL in general, especially after the epically mismanaged Ray Rice clusterwhoops. On a scale of Ray Rice to “Nothing to See Here,” I actually thing this is a decent-sized scandal. I think it’s mainly going to be a big deal because the report name-checks Golden Boy Tom Brady specifically, and because he probably will be “punished” in some minor way. And now the Patriots have another asterisk beside their winning season. *CHEATERS/BALLS.

Jennifer Garner attended an event this week on behalf of the charity organization she represents, Save the Children. Huggies is donating two million diapers to be distributed by Save The Children and Baby 2 Baby, which provides supplies to low-income families. This is a cause close to Garner as she’s a mom and she comes from West Virginia, which has one of the highest poverty rates in the nation. She supports early childhood development and childhood literacy as part of her work with Save The Children.
People got some quotes from Garner about her family and about the work that Huggies is doing to support moms.
“I’m surrounded by attitude,” Jennifer Garner, mom to Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, with husband Ben Affleck, jokes to PEOPLE at the Huggies Snug & Dry event.
“With the eye-rolling and the drama and the attitude. I just tell them, ‘I didn’t try to order kids with sass. How did I get all these sassy kids?’ ”
Playfulness aside, Garner, 43 — an ambassador for Save the Children — is championing aid for a very real and very serious epidemic in America. “One in three moms struggle to get diapers for their kids,” she explains.
“And studies are showing that it’s not some huge crisis that causes the stressors [for moms]. It’s the pileup of little things. It’s like revving your car engine at full speed while sitting still. Eventually it starts to run out…”
For Garner, providing for her older girls often means helping out with homework sessions. “My strengths are projects,” says the actress. “I’m the consistent quiet bugger. I bug and I make sure it gets done.”
And so far so good. “[Violet] has needed company more than she’s needed help,” Garner explains. “When she needs help, I’m going to say, ‘Go find Dad!’ ”
I know this was a quick, throwaway interview on the red carpet so I shouldn’t read much into it. However, what kind of a parental response is telling your rude kids “I didn’t try to order kids with sass“? I’m a pretty permissive parent and I teach my son that when he talks back there are consequences. Eye rolling and general attitude are one thing, but talking back results in getting something taken away. (We have a point system where he earns points for things he wants. If he misbehaves he gets points off.) So I hope Garner and Affleck have a better way of disciplining than just gently saying “you’re not supposed to do that,” but I also know it’s not my business. They’re involved parents, their kids seem happy and well adjusted despite living in a media fishbowl, and everyone has a different way of parenting.
On a superficial note, I really like Garner’s hair and wish I could get mine to fall in soft waves like that. I recently bought one of those cone curling irons hoping to achieve that look and it ended up looking like I had a 90s home perm. Also that’s a cute dress, lace overlay is really big this season, but I wish she’d chosen something in a darker color. The peach kind of washes her out.
Here are some cute photos of Garner with families at the Baby2Baby headquarters.
Expectant mama A.J. Cook shared an updated baby bump photo via Instagram Wednesday.
“Happy #bump day! Yes I’m in a fitting room trying to figure out what the hell to wear to a wedding while in my third trimester. Good times. Don’t forget to watch the season finale of #CriminalMinds tonight at 9pm. Can JJ keep her secret any longer??!?!!!,” the actress, 36, captioned the image of her blooming bump in a floral maternity dress.
In March, the Criminal Minds star announced her second pregnancy on social media.
“Miracles do happen and don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise,” she captioned an image of her growing belly.
With a city backdrop, the Final Destination 2 star struck a pregnant pose with the hashtags #blessed and #bump.
The Virgin Suicides actress and her husband Nathan Andersen – who were wed in August 2001 – are already parents to 6-year-old son Mekhai Allan.

The upcoming episode of KUWTK is all about Kylie Jenner’s lips. I’m not surprised that the lips are receiving their own storyline because everyone (including Kylie) can’t stop talking about them. There are a few preview clips. One is a NSFW clip on YouTube that shows Khloe Kardashian in a thong (to get lasering on her Pinocchio Butt). Khloe says, “Kylie decided to plump her lips, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I think if you’ve done something though, it is right to cop up to it.” (A hilarious statement from a girl with a Pinocchio Butt.) Another clip from the E! site supplies this quote:
“I have temporary lip fillers, it’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do. I’m just not ready to talk to reporters about my lips yet because everyone always picks us apart. I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judge me on everything, so I might have tiptoed around the truth, but I didn’t lie.”
[From E! Online]
Well, Kylie is correct … she technically didn’t lie about her lips. She simply said she didn’t have plastic surgery. But she pretended that makeup magic was the reason for her new pout. She also said, “I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF” in response to the #KylieJennerLipChallenge. The results of Kylie’s half truths are equally as dangerous as a full-on lie.
Here’s something even more disturbing. In the middle of E!’s article, they link to a slideshow of “Kylie and Tyga’s cutest pics!“ As I’ve mentioned before, outlets keep endorsing this couple. People magazine even called the relationship “adorable,” which is an infuriating trend. There’s nothing cute or adorable about statutory rape.
More Kylie news. Tyga brought his underage girlfriend to his college campus show (even though organizers told him not to bring a 17-year-old girl on campus). In the linked article, TMZ says Cal State Fullerton “finds their relationship questionable,” and it was an 18+ show. Tyga ended up doing whatever he wanted, and officials “let it go” because it was too late to replace him.
Hehe my sneak peak vid of my contact look they put on me got bigger than I intended. They let me keep the contacts ???? I’m obsessed. Also wanted to let u guys know I’ve been working on something new for the summer so I can start to connect with u guys more again. So excited x

Mom-to-be Brooklyn Decker was beautiful in a blue dress alongside her husband Andy Roddick in Austin, Texas on Monday (May 4).
The parents-to-be were all smiles at the 15th Annual Andy Roddick Foundation Gala, which raises funds and opportunities for young people in low-income communities.
“Our programs are up and running. We’re executing great,” Roddick said at the gala. “The kids are shining and it’s nice for him to come back. I kind of view tonight as a celebration of what we’ve accomplished.”
At the event, father-of-two and music legend Sir Elton John performed several of his hits.
“Our friend Elton has supported the @arfoundation for the last 15 years. Coming to Austin to perform at the #ARFGala2015 for 6 of those years.. Words can’t express the amount of gratitude we have for this man,” Tweeted Decker.
Roddick’s foundation went on to Tweet a special photo of the trio at the red carpet event.
While the Hollywood couple is remaining mum on the baby’s gender, they are still trying to decide on a moniker for their little one.
“The name is still debatable,” Roddick, 32, told PEOPLE. “We’re open to any and all suggestions. We’re going to figure it out as we go.”
The Grace and Frankie actress, 28, gave us a glimpse into her upcoming Netflix show, set to premiere on Friday.
“There’s a flashback episode where I’m giving birth in a very dramatic fashion … It was much more terrifying than I anticipated, given [my] current situation,” Decker joked. “I don’t know if it helped prepare me, but it really just made the impending events a little more terrifying.”

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is still upset about Zayn Malik’s dramatic departure from the boyband. We heard how all of the band’s members felt “misled” by Zayn after he quit. Zayn’s explanation was that he wanted to be “a normal 22-year-old.” Almost immediately, smugly entered a recording studio with producer Naughty Boy.
Louis, who was super close to Zayn during their four years in the band, has taken this upheaval all too personally. About a month ago, Louis fought with Zayn’s producer, Naughty Boy, over a perceived slight. That scuffle was a defining moment for for 1D fans, who cheered when a member broke the kumbaya facade pushed by 1D’s management. One month later, and Louis is still raging. He must be watching everything that Zayn and Naughty Boy do on Twitter, which seems obsessive. Here’s what provoked Louis:
Replace this . pic.twitter.com/Dis0Tfd7cz
— Naughty Boy (@NaughtyBoyMusic) May 6, 2015
“Replace this” does sound like a challenge, right? Louis should have ignored it, but he didn’t.
Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your pictures were cool haha ! Some people still do HA!
— Louis Tomlinson (@Louis_Tomlinson) May 6, 2015
Naughty Boy, thrilled to see Louis take the bait, struck back where it would hurt most. Many people believe Louis does have the weakest voice in 1D, so this remark had to sting. But Louis wasn’t going down without tossing some more mud.
@NaughtyBoyMusic Jesus forgot you were such an in demand producer …. How does it feel to be riding on the back of someone else’s career ?
— Louis Tomlinson (@Louis_Tomlinson) May 6, 2015
Then Zayn stepped in with the final word, which was sort of amazing. I feel bad for Louis, but the dude shouldn’t have gotten into a public argument. How embarrassing.
@Louis_Tomlinson remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine ?
— zaynmalik (@zaynmalik) May 6, 2015
Semi-related: Noel Gallagher has a new interview with Rolling Stone where he laughs at the “normal 22-year-old” thing: “Have you met any normal 22-year-olds? They’re f***in’ sh*t-for-brains. What are you talking about, you f***in’ idiot? God. You might have wanted to be a normal 22-year-old, but you won’t want to be a normal 25-year-old.”

Commence Dragonfly Meltdown!!!
According to Us Weekly, Tom Hiddleston is dating Elizabeth Olsen. I know, it seems kind of random, right? Olsen and Hiddles have known each other for a while, and they worked together last year on I Saw the Light – he plays Hank Williams and she plays Hank’s wife Audrey Mae Williams. So… I’m guessing they hooked up on set?
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s sister Elizabeth Olsen has a new man in her life! The Avengers star has been getting cozy with her costar Tom Hiddleston, a source tell Us Weekly.
“They have been hooking up,” the insider tells Us of the longtime friends, who become close while shooting upcoming movie musical I Saw the Light, in which they play husband and wife.
“It’s casual,” the insider says, adding that the two won’t be rushing into titles anytime soon, but they do make sure to “text when they’re apart.”
And the timing for Hiddleston, 34, couldn’t be more perfect, considering Olsen, 26, called off her engagement to Boyd Holbrook this past January.
“She wants to make a new life for herself,” the source says. “She’s having fun.”
Hiddleston was previously linked to record producer Jane Arthy.
[From Us Weekly]
What I’m getting from this is that Hiddles is a homewrecker. Olsen was engaged to Boyd Holbrook while she and Hiddles were working on ISTL. So if they did start hooking up during the film shoot, Hiddles broke up an engagement. Huh. Anyway, I have my doubts that this is still an ongoing thing, just because he’s been filming The Night Manager all over the place and she’s been promoting Age of Ultron all over the place and they haven’t been in the same city at the same time that much. But sure, I’ll buy that they were hooking up and they’ve left the door open for more hooking up in the future. I’ll also buy that Hiddles is a homewrecker.

It feels like Reese Witherspoon’s online “Southern Goop” venture has been gestating for a really long time, but in truth, this whole thing basically took about 15 months for her to pull together. And now it’s officially here: Draper James is online now. Go here to look at draperjames.com. If Goop.com is elitist nonsense and Preserve is hipster nonsense, then Draper James is Southern nonsense. Now that I’ve had a few minutes to browse the site… I don’t really hate it though. Is it full of ridiculously marked up items? Sure. $200 sleeveless blouses are not my jam. But the prices are positively peasant-y compared to Goop. And unlike Preserve, Draper James has a very straight-forward, user-friendly layout (possibly helped by the fact that they don’t have a lot for sale at the moment).
There are personal touches too, from Reese. You can see Reese’s “editorials” here, which are mostly just “fun” and “peppy” I’m-so-Southern shills. She even has a page for “Southernisms.” Yeah… I grew up in the South and I still live in the South, and no Southerner has ever said to me, “We don’t apologize for looking pretty.” You want to know a real Southernism? “The bigger the hair, the closer to God.” (Steel Magnolias got SO MUCH right about the South.) So, yeah… I think this venture is completely unnecessary, but it’s nothing Reese should be ashamed of. It’s fine. She’ll make some money out of it and she’ll play up her “I’m a cornpone gal, y’all!” credentials for a little while longer.
Meanwhile, In Touch Weekly has some minor drama between Reese and her ex-husband!
Reese Witherspoon and her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, have mostly gotten along since their 2007 split. But In Touch has learned that the former Hollywood couple have recently had some serious arguments over their kids, Ava, 15, and Deacon, 11.
“Ryan thinks Reese is trying to cut him out of the kids’ lives because she’s cutting back on his time with them,” a source reveals in the new issue of In Touch. “Reese has been blaming the kids’ busy school schedule, but the reason Ryan thinks she isn’t letting them see him is that she doesn’t like his lifestyle. She thinks he parties way too much and doesn’t want Ava and Deacon around that.”
But, according to the source, Ryan finds fault in her reasoning. “He doesn’t understand why Reese is trying to tell him how to live his life — Ava and Deacon are honor students, and when they are with him, they do their homework,” the source tells In Touch. “He takes good care of those kids and is very angry with Reese right now.”
[From In Touch Weekly]
It wouldn’t surprise me if this story was true. And if it is, Reese needs to stop with Miss Holier-Than-Thou routine. Ryan was the one who had to tell the kids that their mom was a nasty, belligerent, drunk AMERICAN CITIZEN to a Georgia cop and she got arrested. Is Ryan a perfect dad? Doubtful. But I think he loves his kids and he’s not bringing a lot of unnecessary drama into their lives. Besides, Reese needs her kids more these days for the endless stream of happy-family pap strolls she’s been doing to shill Draper James.

One of the earlier Sony hack leaks dropped the news that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams were both paid less than their male American Hustle co-stars. Amy’s role in the movie was large, and much of the film’s promotional material revolved around JLaw. Yet Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, and Jeremy Renner all received larger backend deals. At the time, Bale was the only male with a proven box-office record. Cooper has since proven he can draw audiences with American Sniper, but Renner has never pulled off a financially successful movie on his own. He’s always an ensemble player (and a douchey one too). Why would even Renner make more than the ladies?
We know the answer to that question. Hollywood (and society) often hands men higher paychecks for doing the same job as their women counterparts. JLaw has had enough, and she’s pulling a Charlize Theron. Hollywood Reporter reports that Jennifer agreed to star in a space drama/romance, Passengers, when Amy Pascal was in charge at Sony. The deal is still awaiting the final greenlight, and it sounds like this HR piece is an orchestrated push. The film would hand $20 million to JLaw and $10 milion to her co-star, Chris Pratt. Sony is starting to hesitate on Jennifer’s salary because this movie isn’t part of a franchise, but JLaw’s team put their foot down. She’ll get that salary, or she’ll walk:
If a person were to try to design a movie project that could simultaneously attract and repel a fiscally prudent studio executive like Sony Pictures’ new film chief Tom Rothman, it might be the space drama Passengers.
Rothman found Passengers awaiting his green light when he replaced Amy Pascal in the top job at the studio in late February. And while the project has obvious attractions — with red-hot Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt set to star in the interstellar love story and Morten Tyldum, who scored an Oscar nomination for directing The Imitation Game, on board — it hardly is an obvious yes: talent getting top dollar for an original idea with special effects that Rothman is said to see as a marketing challenge and that doesn’t appear to have franchise potential. Not necessarily an easy call for an executive expected to bring restraint to a studio that, under Pascal, long was known for its generosity to talent.
Before Rothman, 60, officially took over, Sony already had agreed to pay Lawrence $20 million to star, though her role actually is somewhat secondary to Pratt’s. His deal gives him about $10 million with the possibility (likelihood) of more based on the performance of Universal’s Jurassic World reboot. With its two huge stars, Passengers is important to Sony “because it has a hook; it’s marketable internationally,” argues one source close to the project, and the studio doesn’t have a lot of branded intellectual property in its cupboard.
Lawrence, 24, and her CAA reps are said to have held firm to the $20 million fee. Sources say Lawrence was prepared to walk away from Passengers if she didn’t get to $20 million on this film, and Tyldum was ready to exit with her. [Amy] Pascal herself might have fanned the flames with her February interview in which she was asked about the Lawrence pay gap. “The truth is that what women have to do is not work for less money,” Pascal said. “They have to walk away. People shouldn’t be so grateful for jobs.”
[From Hollywood Reporter]
Sony needs to get it together on this film. Space movies are usually big moneymakers, and the final budget would be $80 million. Jennifer has an Oscar and a built-in audience who follows her to nearly any film (except Serena, ha), and Pratt is getting there too. HuffPo notes that “the Sony hack proved to be a blessing in disguise for Lawrence.” We’ll see. I hope Sony makes good on this deal. JLaw would join the likes of Angelina Jolie, RDJ, Denzel Washington, and Matt Damon in the salary department. Make it so!

Miranda Lambert is the first ever celebrity to cover Country Living magazine. I actually love these types of home-decorating magazines. I don’t like the super-fancy ones, where it’s like “I combined three massive Manhattan apartments because I just didn’t have enough space for my wine and cigar collection.” Those magazines make me feel like a class warrior. But the home decorating magazines that are like “I bought a terrible little cottage and I redid the kitchen and just painted everything else”? I love those. Miranda actually guest-edited this issue of Country Living, and she did the cover interview (obvs). Most of the quotes are blah, blah, I’m a country girl, blah. But she talks about trying to incorporate enough space in her home for her 15 RESCUE ANIMALS. Some highlights:
How Country is “in her blood”: “I grew up in Lindale, Texas, where the town motto is Good Country Living (really!), so you could say country life has been in my blood since birth. Even now, my husband Blake [Shelton] and I live in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which is roughly two hours from any major city. There’s just a peace that comes with country life.”
On her summer plans to make jam with Blake: “My dad taught me to live off the land. I now have my own garden, but Blake is really the gardener. This year, we’re planting tomatoes and strawberries to make jam. I have a little downtime this summer, so I’m looking forward to this task.”
On her beloved pick-up truck, Tammy: “I’ve had Tammy, my candy apple red ’55 Chevy stepside, since I was 17. It’s named after Tammy Wynette, because that was the cassette tape in the player when I got it. Blake and I had it on display at our wedding, although I still won’t let him drive it!”
Miranda’s love for her pets and obsession with Pinterest: “We’re building a new house, and I’ve been saving inspiration on Pinterest. A friend of mine recently said, ‘I can see your Pinterest boards, and all you have on there are dog rooms.’ My husband [singer Blake Shelton] and I have 15 rescue animals, and I spend way too much time planning our pets’ spaces. I’m like, okay, I probably need Miranda Lambert, to move on to the laundry room!”
[From Country Living]
I have just one dog and let me tell you… he makes every room his own space. My bedroom is HIS room. The living room his play area. My office is his nap space. The foyer is his other nap space. The hallway is his thinking space. The bathroom is his drinking hole (I’ve grown to accept that he will always drink from the toilet). But I can understand how Miranda might need to create special areas and spaces just for her animals, since there are 15 of them. Good God. Does she have a full-time staff member just to take care of the dogs?
Oh, and the idea of Blake Shelton as a gardener? Interesting. I keep getting a weird vibe from their marriage though, so I kind of think he’s spending time in another woman’s garden.
