Naomi Campbell wore custom-made Burberry to the Met Gala last night. And while I can’t really figure out if this has anything to do with the theme, I still kind of love it. I think it might be my favorite non-theme dress. Of course, Naomi can pretty much wear anything (she’s such a beautiful monster), but I enjoy the moss-green and the fringe. What is wrong with me? My inner showgirl is coming out.
Miranda Kerr in Louis Vuitton. This doesn’t go with the theme, nor is it a great dress. It just looks like a sparkly little party dress. I don’t get it?
Jennifer Connelly in Louis Vuitton. I don’t like this, it’s not my jam, but I’m obviously an uneducated peasant when it comes to the “brilliance” of LV’s designs. I just think this looks so heavy and unnecessary.

Emily Ratajkowski in TopShop. Is it wrong to like this? Because I like it a lot, especially on her. Emily can style herself on the friendly side of “trashy” sometimes, but this is a remarkably pulled-together and sophisticated look for her.

Kendall Jenner managed to stick with the theme at last night’s Met Gala, but her look seemed off somehow. This beaded, green Calvin Klein dress came with all the attention-grabbing trimmings of a Kardashian-esque red carpet ensemble. Girlfriend just couldn’t help but flash a little sideboob to balance out the conservative, collared top of the dress. She’s a gorgeous girl, but I’d love to see Kendall change up her hair instead of always turning to the flat iron. An updo and bolder makeup, perhaps? Kendall’s also looking pretty frozen and Botoxy. She’s only 19 years old but has that permanently “surprised” expression like she can’t move her face. That’s the Kardashian-Jenner way.
Amanda Seyfried looked stunning in this Givenchy couture gown with a halter neck, translucent skirt, and ornate leaf embellishment around the bodice and hip area. Without the extra stylistic details, this dress could have looked too bridal, but it works. She brought Justin Long as her date. They look so happy together.
Keri Russell‘s dress was a mess. Peacock-colored feathers on top and a faux-scale skirt. This look wouldn’t have been half bad without the feathers.
John Legend looked dapper with Chrissy Teigen, who wore St. John but didn’t dress for the theme. Do the flowers in her hair count?

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore an ill-fitting, white Roland Mouret gown with blue and orange colorblocking and a boob-cutout. Poor Maggie never nails it.

It sounds like fatherhood has been transformative for Chris Brown.
The notorious bad boy took to Instagram on the eve of his 26th birthday, and posted a precious photo of his 10-month-old daughter Royalty.
The pop superstar went on to share a heartfelt caption alongside the image of his sleeping toddler.
“I honestly never knew I could love someone as strong as I do. I’m gonna give her the world,” he wrote Monday night.
That said, the Forever hitmaker – who welcomed his daughter with former model Nia – is currently facing another battery accusation.
According to USA Today, Las Vegas police are accusing the rapper of beating a man who was found at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center at 3:42 a.m. Monday.

There is not enough time in the day to properly absorb the fuggery in this post. And it’s truly a toss up as to which of these two ladies had the bigger fashion fail. Like, I didn’t even know who to put up top. I think Cara Delevingne surpassed Chloe Sevigny in bad taste though, just because Chloe tends to wear clothes with a wink and nudge, like her whole “style” is “ironic hipster joke.” Cara however is supposed to be SERIOUS. We are supposed to take Angry Baby seriously as a model and an actress. She is an It Girl. She is supposed to be the Big Thing in fashion and film. And this is how Cara turned out…
Her jumpsuit is Stella McCartney. She wore McCartney last year too, only then it was impossibly chic and fashion-forward. Obviously, I loathe Stella’s designs almost always. Stella is like Marchesa to me: overrated, unflattering and coasting on a name and famous friends (in Marchesa’s case, Georgina Chapman relies on her husband Harvey Weinstein for her clientele). So, this was always going to be failure just because of the terrible “are you wearing a wrestler’s onesie?” ensemble. But then Cara decided to get some temporary “Chinese” tatts. And her too-dark eye makeup just makes her look even more Angry Baby-ish.
As for Chloe Sevigny… bless her heart. This dress is by JW Anderson. It looks like the polyester wall hangings at my local Chinese buffet place exploded on her. I think Chloe knows it’s terrible, right? And that’s the “joke”? And it just occurred to me… 17 years ago, Chloe WAS Cara. Chloe was the It Girl, the weird girl, the Fashion Girl.

As Kaiser covered earlier today, disgraced designer John Galliano is gradually clawing his way back. He designed Amal Clooney’s Maison Margiela Met Gala gown and did both Cate Blanchett’s Oscar look and Rihanna’s Grammy’s suit. So was it a kind of nod to Galliano’s past greatness that Mary Kate and Ashley wore his designs on the Met red carpet? Did they work with Galliano to score these dresses or did they just pull some gowns out of the back of their mausoleum of a closet, smear some kohl on their eyes and call it a day? They’re like the twins from The Shining – you never quite know what they’re up to.
Behati Prinsloo was in a dark navy Tommy Hillfiger velvet and mesh open back gown that showed just the right amount of skin. She carried a fan purse, had tassel earrings and matching tassles down her back and had complementary styling. This was very well done.

Also in Hillfiger and absolutely killing it we have Karolina Kurkova. Her legs, her shoes! This was a lot of people’s favorite look of the night and for good reason.

I’m adding Georgia May Jagger in as she really fit the theme well too. Her dress may be kimono-inspired, and kimonos are traditionally Japanese but they do have their roots in Chinese culture too. She’s in Alessandro Michele for Gucci and that’s Michele with her. This is Michele’s first year as Gucci’s creative director and he’s getting praise for bringing the label in a fresh, youthful direction. Jagger’s gown was a standout last night.

I always look forward to seeing what Zendaya wears on the red carpet. She didn’t disappoint at her first Met Gala. This fanciful Fausto Puglisi number sticks with Z’s unique sense of style but still manages to fit the gala’s theme with varying different sun prints emblazoned upon her skirt, wrist cuffs and headpiece. Not even a flouncy, mullety skirt (which is offset nicely by a streamlined, deep v-necked top) can make me dislike this dress. Zendaya always has fun with her fashion, and her youthful attitude allows her to get away with a variety of looks.
Vanessa Hudgens wore a flirty little H&M dress that was one of my favorites of the evening. The bold red color, the clean lines, and the dark jewels were all so pretty. She even pulled off a face net. Is this the same girl who lives at Coachella? She looks amazing.
Miley Cyrus wore a gold-studded, custom Alexander Wang NY gown. She told reporters she was going commando because of course. Miley surely chose this dress for the revealing cutouts, but even with blue hair, she looks boring. Two years ago, Miley was the one of the style stars of this gala. She looks like a faded version of herself now.
Justin Bieber looked like a clueless little boy in this Balmain jacket.
Hailey Baldwin may have pulled this powder blue TopShop dress out of her closet at the last moment. This is a very uninspired look.
Just for fun, here’s Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet. I don’t have an ID on Lisa’s dress, but everything is more interesting with a little Lenny.
