Minor SPOILERS for this season of Game of Thrones.
I wasn’t expecting everyone to love yesterday’s Kit Harington story, so here’s another one! HUZZAH. It’s part of our ongoing series, “Celebitchy Presents: Kit Harington Says Words.” In today’s episode, Kit Harington says words about Jon Snow as a political leader. Kit – like Jon Snow – knows nothing, really. But I think it’s cute that he tries. Kit also doesn’t know what to think about all of the speculation regarding Jon Snow’s real parents (SPOILER: R+L = J). You can read the full Daily Beast piece here. Some highlights:
Kit on Jon Snow’s shaky leadership: “He completely splits the Night’s Watch down the middle—those who support him and love him, and those who don’t. I don’t really want to compare him to a real-life politician, but in American politics, he’s like certain people. They really love him or hate him at the Wall, and it’s the only democracy there is in Thrones.”
Is Jon Snow like Pres. Obama? “You know what, I was going to… and now I’m going to not! But he’s divisive, you know? And that’s because of the mercy he shows to the wildlings by referring to them as ‘Free Folk.’ He’s trying to change minds and change the way things have been done forever at the Wall. He’s trying to diplomatically and politically change people’s opinions for the greater good, but that’s never easy, and it’s going to put him at risk.”
Whether Jon Snow lost his V to Ygritte: “We don’t strictly know he did get laid in the cave—I’d like to point that out. We know he did other things, but we don’t know if he fully went there.”
Jon Snow’s parents: “Well, I think it’s Ned, isn’t it? I’m pretty sure it is. But, yeah, I’m just assuming until proven otherwise!”
Jon Snow’s severe loneliness: “Where he is this season is he’s acutely aware of imminent danger—which is all around him. He’s not wrapped up too much in trying to get over Ygritte, but at the same time he’s in a place of severe loneliness. As he climbs the rungs of becoming a commander and leading other men, he starts to realize how isolated it makes him, and there’s a point at the end of the season where we see that very clearly. It’s the lowest place he’s ever been, and that’s going to push him to do quite extreme things in the future.”
[From The Daily Beast]
Extreme things like what? Like riding one of Dany’s dragons to capture Kings Landing?! I’ve actually had the books spoiled for me when it comes to Jon Snow’s temporary (?) fate so far, although it’s worth noting that most readers believe Jon Snow is going to be in it until the very end of the story. And no one believes Jon Snow is like Pres. Obama. And no one believes Ned Stark is really Jon’s father!! Kit Harington knows nothing.

Mom-of-two Sarah Michelle Gellar shared a cute Instagram image Tuesday.
“A 5year old #slumberparty #bookclub. I love how much they enjoy books. Wonder where she gets it from? (Btw anyone reading anything good?- I’m always looking) #insomiacs #starwars,” the Buffy alum, 38, captioned the image of 5-year-old daughter Charlotte and her pal.
The Crazy Ones star and her husband, fellow actor Freddie Prinze, Jr. are also parents to 2-year-old son Rocky.
In a series of pics, SMG gives us a glimpse inside her life as a mom.
“Sometimes the #Moms have more fun!! Celebrating #preschool with @elsamariecollins and #NicoleSnyder (and our #momfriend #ophelia) #MomHappyHour,” she captioned an image with some of her mom friends.
And in another shot, the proud mom shared some of Charlotte’s art work.
“#MomBrag So proud of my daughter and her class. They created this painting with (safe) #spraypaint based on #banksy after they studied him in preschool. I was the lucky parent that won the painting at auction!! (Well I did threaten to go all #Slayer on anyone that outbid me),” she captioned the image of the pretty piece.
The actress went on to share a “#foodcrafting” photo to inspire some “#lunchboxides.” Not to mention a fabulous #tbt with SJP. And it looks like Charlotte is a big fan of Shopkins!

I included a preview of Kristen Stewart’s Harper’s Bazaar UK cover in yesterday’s links. I was actually waiting for any interview excerpts before I discussed the cover and editorial, even though this photoshoot is one of the best I’ve seen from Kristen in a while. Kristen is a pretty good “model” – she can look great with strong styling or very light, undone styling. For the past year or so, most of her magazine editorials have been with a tomboy-vibe, nothing girly or frilly. I enjoy the fact that Bazaar UK put her in this pink Chanel and posed her on a beach – the result is rather stunning, isn’t it?
As for the interview… Bazaar promised us “sexuality, sexism and her search for serenity.” Did they deliver? Eh. Some highlights:
Being famous at such a young age: “Having that much human energy thrust at you and then being critically analysed is obviously disarming. Control issues make me so nervous. It’s not knowing what’s going to happen. So what people were seeing was what happens when you are terrified. My palms sweat, my knees shake, I don’t think I can stand in my heels, I’m breathing heavily, I feel nauseous. I’ll be so nervous and then my body creates something to calm me down and I get so tired I’ll just…’ and she slumps over the table.
Hollywood is sexist: “Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard. Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy.”
On fame: “Fame is the worst thing in the world. Especially if it’s pointless. When people say, ‘I want to be famous’ Why? You don’t do anything.”
Body image: “I’m a little bigger than sample size when I’m eating cheeseburgers and am happy and comfortable. If I’m stressed or working, the weight falls off. My weight and my sleep are tied to my nervous system. Sometimes I’ll sleep for 12 hours a night and sometimes sleep just doesn’t exist for me for a couple of months.”
Filming sex scenes: “I only hate them when they’re contrived. That’s when it’s grotesquely uncomfortable. On Twilight we had to do the most epic sex scene of all time. It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better sex than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were like, ‘How do we live up to that?’ It was agony. Which sucks, because I wanted it to be so good.”
[From Harper’s Bazaar UK and E! News]
So…not so much about “sexuality”. Which is fine. Kristen doesn’t have to confirm or deny anything, mostly because her actions speak louder than words, even if it makes the mainstream press uncomfortable with how to reference Kristen’s girlfriend Alicia Cargile. Kristen does seem to have done a lot of growing up in the past few years. I like that she’s gone back to her indie roots, and I think she’ll probably figure out an interesting career path for herself long-term post-Twilight. And I do think she’s telling the truth about being a nervous, fidgety, high-strung person. But I still don’t understand people who can sleep for 12 hours at a time consistently. How do you DO that?

Any blogger covering the Avengers: Age of Ultron press tour will admit to hoping for a few interesting interviews. I certainly didn’t expect anything of this messy magnitude. Chris Evans tried to lay low and be the good-time guy. He avoided trade magazine covers, GQ, and such. The loosey-goosy act backfired. He’s now seen as a drunkface with a flair for laughing hysterically while bro-ing out. He backed into a corner with a decent apology and much grovelling in the aftermath.
Evans has switched his focus back to business, sort of. He’s preparing to march right into Cap 3: Civil War. Evans also reveals that the two-part Avengers: Infinity War will shoot for nine months starting in fall 2016. So he’ll have some time off, but the Marvel grind is steady. In a talk with Entertainment Weekly, Evans distracts himself by contemplating Steve Rogers’ (possible) eternal virginity:
Cap is the nobelest Avenger: “He does have a healthy understanding of what it feels like to be powerless, to be the victim. But he also has a healthy understanding of what it is to be a soldier. I think anytime you meet anyone that’s been in the military, when you fight alongside someone they become a brother. I think in a weird way he looks at his Avengers as his family at this point. … It’s hard to explore a guy who doesn’t want to make waves with his own personal conflict. He’s always trying to help the greater good.”
Will Cap ever think about himself? “That’s why it’s kind of exciting to look forward to Cap 3. I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there’s just so much to explore. Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony] Mackie’s character, but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman. … It’s funny when you think about it — he’s probably a virgin. [Laughs.] He’s probably a virgin! I don’t know when it would’ve happened.”
What about those USO tours? “He was on tour. That’s true. Maybe one of those [dancing] girls blew his mind. [Laughs] He’s probably just a good guy. He was probably holding out for Peggy Carter and he’s a little more old-fashioned in that sense. These are a lot of things that I think are giant conflicts, but they’re also very personal conflicts. He’s a very human guy. That’s why I like him.”
[From EW.com]
I do think Steve Rogers is still a virgin. Steve Rogers was hung up on Peggy Carter and called her “my best girl” decades after he disappeared into the ice. She moved on, married some other dude, and grew old. Still, Cap only wanted Peggy. He couldn’t even properly kiss Black Widow in Cap 2 because of Peggy (and maybe Bucky too). Steve’s virtue is definitely intact. And I can’t imagine Steve’s version of Cap would ever do the deed without delivering a patriotic speech during the heat of the moment.
FYI: Jeremy Renner elaborated (beyond his annoyed non-apology) upon the “slut and wh*re” debacle. Speaking with Uproxx, Jeremy said, “anything can be taken out of context and especially if you get more loose-tongued as you’re on three hours’ sleep, three days running. I don’t know, whatever. I focus on what’s important in life for me.” Last time, Jeremy used one tedious press hour as an excuse. Now he’s writing off his casual sexism due to lack of sleep.

Sin City star Jessica Alba covers the May issue of MORE and opens up about the Honest Company and family life with husband Cash Warren and their two daughters: Honor, 6 1/2, and Haven, 3 1/2.
On questioning her career decisions and finding work-life balance: “You don’t really know how [your career] is affecting [your kids] until they’re adults and they say, ‘You ruined my life, Mom!’ Maybe they want me to be a stay-at-home mother who bakes chocolate-chip muffins all day. Nah. I’d probably want to start a chocolate-chip-muffin company. Ya know?”
On her management skills: “Sometimes I’m a little more iron fist than velvet glove. I’m straight to the point. I’ve made people cry. I have to say, ‘This isn’t personal. This is what needs to get done, and it’s just as simple as that. And … we’re not crying anymore.’ I’m learning to tone myself down.”
On the link between environmental hazards and the recent increases in everything from cancers to allergies to learning disabilities: “The increases have coincided with the rise of these untested, potentially harmful chemicals. I know firsthand what it’s like to have a compromised immune system. I really, really didn’t want to have my kids go through what I did. If [the government] won’t safeguard my family, I’m going to have to.”
On the Honest Company’s expansion into beauty and feminine care products and what’s coming up next: “We are doing an organic tampon, but it won’t be in a cardboard applicator. It’s in a plant-based plastic compact applicator, which is the first of its kind. [As a result of customer suggestions] I’m working on skin care, hair care, mattresses, air filters, paint. Our customers really want paint.”

As CB discussed yesterday, Kris “Lucifer’s Homegirl” Jenner has been trying to steal focus from Bruce Jenner’s big announcement since the 20/20 special aired, pretty much. During the ABC special last Friday, Diane Sawyer noted that ABC had reached out to all of Bruce’s ex-wives and Kris was the only one saying “no comment.” That night, Kris got into a juvenile tweet-battle with Perez Hilton. Perez tweeted: “Kris Jenner has no comment for ABC news and the #BruceJenner interview. His other two ex-wives give supportive statements.” Lucifer’s Homegirl snapped: “@PerezHilton f–k you Perez no one asked me to comment ….and I’m sitting with Bruce now watching this show so let’s keep it real…LOL….”
That was the first statement Kris made and it set off a minor firestorm. After that, Kris tweeted: “Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero.” But people were still side-eyeing the “no comment” to ABC and the tweet to Perez. Especially since it seems like Kris was (shock!) lying about “sitting with Bruce now” during the airing of the special. Radar claims that Kris only made a “pit stop” at Bruce’s viewing party in Malibu and “She was off to the side and looking really aloof. She wasn’t into being there….She ended up walking out after a few minutes. She wasn’t even watching it!”
After Kris’s tweet to Perez, Diane Sawyer doubled-down on her claim that they contacted Kris and got a “no comment”. And now ABC News is backing up Diane Sawyer and it’s gotten so bad that “a statement issued to People Magazine on behalf of Kris Jenner” is in the mix somehow:
Though both Chrystie Scott and Linda Thompson provided comment to Diane Sawyer for her bombshell interview with Bruce Jenner, in which he came out as transgender, Sawyer said in the interview that one of his former wives – Kris Jenner – had declined to comment. Kris, 59, told a different story on Twitter. In response to a Tweet from Perez Hilton speculating about why Kris hadn’t spoken for the special, Jenner wrote, in part, “no one asked me to comment.”
A statement issued to PEOPLE on behalf of Kris Jenner attempted to clarify matters: “Kris does not have official representation but a message was left at her office and she was asked for fact checking. Kris said she was unable to respond because she had not seen the special. She did not say, ‘No comment.’ ”
However, ABC is standing by Sawyer.
“ABC News sent an email to her publicity team more than once,” reads a network statement released to PEOPLE. “They called and said no comment.”
Other than calling her ex a “hero” on Twitter following the interview, Kris has largely stayed silent on the issue, though she will have her say soon.
In advance of E!’s eight-part docuseries chronicling Bruce’s transition from male to female, the network will host a special next month “that will capture intimate family conversations where [Bruce’s] transition and what it means for those relationships is discussed,” reads a statement. More details will be released soon, but Kris, Khloé, Kourtney, Scott Disick and Kendall and Kylie Jenner will all be featured.
[From People]
File this under “Lucifer’s Homegirl Always Finds a Way to Pimp.” We can also cross-file this under “Lucifer’s Homegirl Got Caught in a Lie So She’s Deflecting.” Kris was clearly contacted by ABC. Kris or someone working for or with Kris issued a “no comment.” But Kris didn’t expect the reaction to Bruce’s announcement to be so overwhelmingly positive. So Kris immediately went into pimp mode and now everything that’s come out since is just Kris hustling for her own payday, via E! and probably a few other outlets. Maybe Kris wants her own 20/20 special, a special to focus on what’s really important: KRIS JENNER.
Oh, two more Radar stories of note. Apparently, Kris is “livid” at how detailed Bruce was during the interview and she considered suing Bruce… for telling his own story. Think about that. But Radar says she’s probably not going to sue, even though she’s pretty pissed off that Bruce had his own thoughts, opinions and feelings about their marriage. And another Radar story claims that Diane Sawyer is pissed that Kris blatantly lied about everything and Sawyer wants KRIS to apologize publicly. Good luck with that, Diane.

We’re still waiting for Duchess Kate to go into labor. The baby is now nearly a week overdue, according to reports. It seems like Kate isn’t interested in being induced just yet, which is fine although I’m now horrified at the thought that this could be strung out over the weekend, or that we could be dealing with royal baby stuff and Met Gala stuff next week. The royal reporters are getting antsy too –there was a kerfuffle yesterday when some paparazzi and royal correspondents noticed what seemed like some Will & Kate staffers and security personnel at the Lindo Wing, but either it was a dry-run in preparation or it was just nothing. So, while we wait(y), let’s chat about some random royal stuff making the rounds.
Today is Will & Kate’s fourth wedding anniversary. To celebrate, The Daily Mail did a hilariously fawning piece about how Kate is now “as grand as any royal-born” with a life that is “now one of endless engagements, royal tours and a constant battle for normality in the face of a constitutional role that makes doing so all but impossible.” *eyeroll*
Many believe Kate will pop today because it is their anniversary. To celebrate, I’m including some photos of the royal wedding, four years ago today!
Kate was spotted yesterday. She was seen behind the wheel of a car, going into Buckingham Palace with Prince George and Maria-the-nanny – you can see a photo here. It’s widely believed that Kate took George for a swim, because he’s apparently a water baby and he loves nothing more than splashing in the BP pool. Some even believe Kate took a swim.
Security. While we wait, security personnel are patrolling and locking down the Lindo Wing in advance.
Breakfast. Yesterday, William and Kate did something nice for the royal fans camped outside St. Mary’s – they sent the fans coffee and croissants. W&K were criticized for that too – why not tea? Why not bangers & mash? Why not an English breakfast? I have no idea. Maybe because croissants are easy to transport? Oh, and the box of croissants was wrapped in a pink ribbon. IS THAT A CLUE?

At this point, I’m all for shutting down the publicity tour for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Failing that, just send out Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and… James Spader, I guess. Spader has been nowhere during the tour and we’ve seen too much of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. RDJ has actually fallen fast and hard in public esteem in the past week. The first incident was when he walked out of an interview with Krishnan Guru-Murthy (an incident in which I defended RDJ). The second incident was where RDJ threw some majorly racism-tinged shade at Alejandro Inarritu. An incident that has no defense: RDJ was just a douchebag in that moment, and he still hasn’t really explained, apologized or clarified.
So, what’s new? RDJ appeared on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show yesterday to shill Ultron. They ended up discussing the Guru-Murthy interview – RDJ doesn’t apologize for walking out. In fact, he says “I just wish I’d left sooner.” More from the interview:
“I’m one of those guys who I’m always assuming the social decorum is in play, and that we’re promoting a superhero movie, a lot of kids are going to see it, and that just has nothing to do with your creepy dark agenda.”
Downey didn’t like the dark turn the interview took, though, and explained to Stern he hated “feeling all of the sudden ashamed and obligated to accommodate your weirdo s–t.” He also pretended to address Guru-Murthy, saying, “You know what? You are a bottom-feeding muckraker.”
Stern pointed out that asking the now-sober star about a touchy topic in his past seemed unnecessary. “It’s not like you’re running for president,” quipped the shock jock.
As Downey noted, though, “the assumption is that there’s a button that because you’ve sat down [for an interview] there you’re going to be scrutinized like you’re a kiddy fiddler who’s running for mayor. What I have to do in the future is give myself permission to say, ‘That is more than likely a syphilitic parasite and I need to distance myself from this clown’. Otherwise I’m probably gonna put hands on this clown and then there’s a real story!”
[From E! News]
Eh. I defended RDJ initially because the way Krishnan Guru-Murthy went personal so quickly was creepy and awkward, and if a celebrity (or anyone else) isn’t comfortable, they should just say “no comment” or walk away. That’s still how I feel, although now I’m uncomfortable with the way RDJ is going after Guru-Murthy – the journalist isn’t a “bottom-feeding muckraker” or a “syphilitic parasite”. Guru-Murthy asked some awkward questions but it was nothing that RDJ hadn’t discussed before in previous interviews, and Guru-Murthy is not a terrible human being for, you know, DOING HIS JOB. Incidentally, over the weekend Guru-Murthy wrote a piece for The Guardian telling his side of the story – go here to read.
And here’s audio of Stern’s interview with RDJ. He also talked about running into his ex-girlfriend Sarah Jessica Parker, and why he ended up pulling out of Gravity a few years ago (he hated the space simulator). Beware: NSFW language.
I’ve always looked up to you Howard,,,,, thanx @sternshow … #avengers #ageofultron #presstour #marvel #earlybirds

Kim Richards’s interview with Dr. Phil, which was taped last week, aired yesterday. Kim has of course checked into rehab for what I believe is her fourth time. (The last time she was in rehab, in 2011, was reportedly her third stint.) She did not go easily. We’ve heard that Kim does not believe she has a problem despite her high profile arrest for public drunkenness and assault on a police officer, and her interview on Dr. Phil bore that out. Kim was full of excuses, denial and long-winded explanations. Little of what she said added up, but that’s been the case for her for quite some time. Here’s some of what she told Dr. Phil, and he kept calling her on her b.s., not that any of his logic got through to her.
Kim’s three young adult children came on the set to talk about their mom’s issues and urge her to go to rehab. Kim cried and cried and her kids looked so over it. They’ve surely seen this countless times before. Dr. Phil summed it up “I’ve never yet seen an alcoholic that reports things fully and accurately.”
Then, when Dr. Phil asked Kim to go to a local rehab and said that he would pay for it, she claimed she was having anxiety and left the set. Her daughter, Brooke, followed her and asked her to come back and Kim said “you’re giving me tons of anxiety.” Kim’s son got her to admit that she smokes pot too. She later acted like everything was fine and told Dr. Phil that “going to someplace I don’t know is giving me tons of anxiety.”
At the conclusion of the episode, Dr. Phil explained that Kim initially said she needed to think about his offer to pay for rehab, that she accepted the day after taping, but that she later had a list of demands for the facility including a private room. Dr. Phil said that he heard that Kim had decided to go to rehab and that “we certainly hope that’s true.”
I know this has been long so I’ll just sum it up: Kim is an alcoholic who is deep in denial and lies. She surely takes a lot of pills too. I felt the sorriest for her children, who looked pretty miserable and hardened to their mom’s constant excuses. I don’t think the fourth time in rehab will be the charm for her, but I hope I’m wrong.

Kendall Jenner is featured in the May issue of V magazine to promote her soggy new Calvin Klein campaign. The shoot is very unimaginative (you can see it here) and shows Kendall doing some strange gym stretch. Kendall’s been seriously modelling since turning 18 a little over a year ago (because she didn’t know what else to do). She’s doing pretty well for herself for a relatively new face. I don’t doubt that Kendall met a few skeptical faces when she broke into her career. Let’s get real though — she did have lots of family friends to call upon. I think she’s a good model, but she didn’t have to work as hard to get noticed as most girls do. Kendall still says she had a very difficult time landing jobs:
Breaking into the fashion industry was hard: “You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults were either initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back. It was kind of hard because all I was doing was going on go-sees, trying my best to break into this business as a teenager. I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand, who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity. My parents taught me that work ethic is one of the most important keys in life, and I believe it.”
On Calvin Klein: “The American Dream. I feel like it’s such a staple. I can barely remember a time, or underwear in general, before Calvin Klein. They’re O.G. I feel honored to be linked to something with such great roots. I can only hope that I’m around as long as CK has been. This will be my first billboard on Sunset, which I’m ecstatic about. It’s really humbling, and honestly, I am a pretty shy person, but being part of the Calvin campaign and seeing myself up there will be a dream come true. I might have to eat every night at the Chateau Marmont with that hanging over my shoulder. ‘Oh yeah, that little thing? I didn’t notice!’ My little sister also wears Calvin, but I’m kind of claiming it as my own. Okay Kylie?”
[From V magazine]
Yep, Kendall Jenner will have her own billboard on Sunset. She already has one in Times Square, although she’s never seen it in person. It’s only a matter of time before we see a selfie of Kendall in front of both these billboards.
There’s also a fake article in this week’s issue of OK!, which says Kendall is considering a boob job to impress Justin Bieber. She reportedly wants to go “up a couple of breast sizes” but insists “she’ll keep it classy.” This story can’t be real. Kendall’s the only Kardashian-Jenner girl who won’t go in for body modification. She can’t tweak her looks too much and stay on the runway.
