We haven’t discussed the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel in a while. Fifty Shades Darker is still going to be made, of course, because there’s so much money to be made and because the actors have all of those wonderful contracts. But the studio still has to deal with author EL James and the “deal with the devil” situation they have with her, where she has too much control over her “creation,” to the point where no one really wants to work with her. Well, as we assumed, EL James wanted to *blush* adapt the inner-goddess-riddled sequel script herself and the studio was *streaming tears* actually saying no to her inner goddess *ARGH* because Jesus Christ, lady, this is the way you write. So a compromise has been made! EL James’ husband is going to adapt the script.

Niall Leonard, E.L. James’ husband, has been tapped to pen the screenplay for “Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel to Universal’s “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are attached to reprise their roles with James, Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca producing.

While this will mark Leonard’s first time working on a major studio film, he has written scripts for British television on such shows as “Wild at Heart” and “Wire in the Blood.” Variety first reported in February that the reason for the delay in naming a screenwriter for the sequel was that James herself wanted to write the screenplay.

While Leonard works on the script, the studio will now look to find a replacement for director Sam Taylor-Johnson, who announced last month she would not be returning. No release date or production start date has been set, though sources close to the project still believe production would most likely start in the first quarter of 2016. The “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise is a top priority for the studio following the first film’s success at the box office, with more than $567 million worldwide.

Wire in the Blood is actually a really great, gory British detective series starring Robsen Green and Hermione Norris. It’s actually pretty well-written, and hey, at least this guy has a background in screenwriting. But yes, this is still going to be terrible. Either Niall Leonard is going to be henpecked by EL James into merely adapting HER “vision” of her terrible characters, or they will fight so much that it will end in divorce. Dealer’s choice.

Academy Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock – who was recently named the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” – addresses rumors that she’s set to adopt another child.

“I’ve always said that I could have a house full of kids,” the single mom to 5-year-old son Louis tells PEOPLE. “But at this time the only kids in my house, other than Louis, are the ones whose parents want them back at the end of the playdate. But if these drumbeaters know something that I don’t, I’d appreciate a heads-up on the details so I can pick up some supplies. I’m wickedly unprepared if Louis is getting a sibling this week.”

The actress goes on to say “it’s an honor” to be his mother. “Louis asks asks me some serious questions, and I’m really honest with him on a level he can handle. It’s a beautiful thing. I want him to be a good man who is good to women and is really in touch with how he feels.”

The Minions star, 50, says family “are people you choose to have in your life. There are so many variations of families out there that are perfect,” she adds. “My family looks nothing like I ever imagined it would. It’s better than I ever imagined.”

She goes on to talk about her “tribe,” which include close friends and family.

“If you are struggling, the women in my life descend like paratroopers en masse and will not leave your side until they know you are standing on your own two feet again,” she shares. “No judgment, just support.”

Speaking of beauty, what qualities does she find most beautiful in women?

“The same qualities I find beautiful in a man – vulnerability and honesty,” she shares. “Kindness is the most important and the ability to laugh at yourself. The most beautiful woman in the world is the one who protects and supports other women.”

Sandra says Louis has helped her grow into the woman she wants to be.

“Am I the mother my son deserves? Am I living my authentic life, am I good enough, working hard enough, am I able to keep my son safe? Did I pick up all the dog poop in the yard before the playdate? Worrying used to be very paralyzing for me, and now I can talk myself off the ledge,” she says. “Louis is the one who snapped me out of it.”

She adds: “I wish I could back and tell myself to not worry so much. I wasted so much time with worry. I wish I could get it back.”

Ariana Grande and Big Sean announced their breakup earlier this week. Considering Ariana is the littlest diva in the world, I was surprised by how drama-free the split announcement was initially. It was like Sean and Ariana agreed on their story and put it out there quickly and everything was fine. The “story” was that Ariana and Sean were both touring and they simply didn’t see enough of each other and they were tired of trying to make the long-distance thing work. But of course… that wasn’t the whole story. TMZ got a leak from Big Sean’s camp about what really went down.

Ariana Grande lashed out at Big Sean almost immediately after their breakup by staging Justin Bieber’s come-from-behind stage embrace … so claim sources close to the couple. Sources closely connected with them tell TMZ … Sean claims it was him who broke off the relationship because she was “immature.”

Sources say the downfall of their relationship started in February, when he made the most important appearance of his career at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. Everyone showed — Kanye, Bieber, JLo, Chris Brown, Jay Z, A$AP Rocky, Tyga, Kylie and Kendall — everyone EXCEPT ARIANA. We’re told she needed to get ready for the Grammy’s the next day, which he found extremely selfish.

Sean also traveled to see her “10 times more” than she went to see him. He claimed once she demanded that he blow tens of thousands of dollars to take a private jet to see her. Sean, who grew up poor, felt she was a spendthrift … a sign of immaturity.

But the crowning blow was just after the breakup. They were still talking and the door was slightly open for a reconciliation, when Bieber jumped onstage in L.A. and grabbed Ariana from behind. Even though Ariana pushed Biebs away, Sean believes it was all calculated — NOT by Bieber but Ariana — to hurt him.

Is Ariana Grande an immature, spendthrift diva? Is she the kind of woman who would organize an on-stage flirtation with Justin Bieber to make her boyfriend jealous? Would Ariana expect her boyfriend to drop everything to run to be by her side? The answer to all of those questions is YES. Of course. Ariana Grande is a massive pill. It doesn’t take a leak from Big Sean’s camp to convince me of that. But… I’d still like to hear Ariana’s side of it. Because I really doubt that Sean is some decent guy who got steamrolled by Ariana’s Diva Tour.

Cougar Town star Busy Philipps posted an adorable photo on Instagram to celebrate Earth Day (April 22).

“Happy Earth Day!,” she captioned the image holding daughters Birdie, 6, and Cricket, 1. “We are so excited to celebrate by wearing our @Jcrew Save the Bees tshirts! LET’S SAVE THOSE BEES! #JCrewLovesBees ALSO, did Bette Midler start Earth Day with Leonardo Dicaprio or did I make that up in my childhood?”

On Tuesday, the Dawson’s Creek alum, 35, also shared a cute video of her girls.

“I guess we should just consider this her audition video for the new Full House on Netflix? She’s got her own catchphrase going and I think it’s really working for her…,” the proud mom captioned the clip.

ICYMI, the actress posted a photo last month of her budding actress. In the sweet shot, Birdie is seen reenacting a scene from Full House at her school’s talent show.

Is it too early for an Oscar campaign? Never. Last December, we caught a first glimpse of Jake Gyllenhaal in character for Southpaw. He plays a welterweight boxer (meaning he’s heavier than lightweight but not quite to middleweight status) whose life hits a few rock bottoms. His wife gets killed, and he loses custody of their daughter. He has to fight his way back on all levels. Back in 2010, Kurt Sutter talked about the screenplay as a continuation of Eminem’s 8 Mile tale. The movie was originally supposed to star Eminem!

Plans changed, and the movie is now a prestige film. The Weinstein Company acquired the pic, which means Harvey smells Oscar potential. As Pajiba put it, “Southpaw has it all, y’all. It’s Rocky plus a drug-addiction story, a custody battle, a dead wife, another complete body-transformation for Gyllenhaal, and a director (Antoine Fuqua) who got Denzel his Oscar in Training Day.” Southpaw is total Oscar bait even though it comes out in July. Some summer movies (2012?s Beasts of the Southern Wild) do make the Oscar lists. And the Academy loves boxers and body transformations, so “check, check.” After Jake lost weight for Nightcrawler and gained weight back for Southpaw, he officially joins the legions of Christan Bale, Jared Leto, and Bradley Cooper in their Oscar-seeking ways.

Jake hasn’t said much about this film yet, but his trainer is talking. Former pro boxer Terry Claybon, spoke with Yahoo! to reveal Jake’s transformation madness. When all was said and done, Jake lost 30 pounds. Then he gained it all back and added 15 more. He worked out with real boxers for six months. For three hours every day, Jake boxed. Then he did “three hours of strengthening, conditioning, and cardio at night.” Every morning, Jake did 1,000 sit-ups. He ended his day with another 1,000. That was before filming even began. Will Jake Gyllenhaal’s gloves reach the same notorious heights as the beige booty shorts? I’m always amazed at how actors will go to such lengths for a gold statuette, but hey. Their bodies, their future metabolisms.

P.S. Jake signed on to this year’s Cannes jury. He joins Sienna Miller, Guillermo del Toro, Sophie Marceau, and Joel and Ethan Cohen.

Proud stepmom Kelly Clarkson shared a sweet new snapshot via Instagram Wednesday.

“Big brother reading to his little sister One of my favorite things in life! #River&Seth #Greatest8yrOldOnThePlanet,” Kelly captioned the image of her daughter River, 10 months, and 8-year-old stepson Seth.

Kelly’s husband Brandon Blackstock is also dad to daughter Savannah, 13.

“They’re so great,” Kelly has previously gushed about her stepchildren. “And I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five.”

She went on to say how Seth and Savannah changed her perspective on family.

“I honestly never ever used to want to want kids because I’m kind of selfish with my career, but going to soccer games with Seth and doing homework with Savannah — I just really love it y’all,” she added. “It’s so cool. It sounds so cheesy but it’s such a bigger point to life. I really lucked out with the whole kid situation. They’re amazing.”

Jay-Z and many of his rich, famous friends launched Tidal, a music streaming service, in late March. They did a big launch party/announcement which Gawker described as “bonkers,” in which some of the richest musical artists in the world stood together and asked for even more money from their fans. The thing is, I’m pretty sure Tidal might have worked out long-term if the app worked like it was supposed to and they actually had exclusive content. But that didn’t happen. Less than a month after the big launch, Tidal has “fallen out of the Top 750 on the Apple App Store.” Music sites are already writing obituaries for this rare financial fail from Jay-Z. So is it significant that Kanye West – arguably one of Jay’s closest business associates and friends – is acting like a rat jumping from a sinking ship?

Jay Z’s streaming service Tidal isn’t doing so well. It already bricked on the Apple app store, and it appears that the service has lost the social support of one of its biggest supporters yet: Kanye West has deleted his tweets about the company. Ye, who appears in the multiple commercials for the service and stood on stage next to Jay during the weird press conference, has erased any mention of the company on his Twitter feed. Not only that, but he changed his profile picture back from the Tidal logo to the George Condo, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy picture.

So much for innovation, eh? It does sound like Kanye is done. And it sounds like Jay-Z won’t even be able to unload Tidal for a tidy profit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Jay will sell it, but he won’t ever get back the $56 million he put into it.

Lizzie McGuire alum Hilary Duff and former hockey star Mike Comrie have been co-parenting their son Luca, 3, in peace. But is there trouble in amicable paradise?

According to E! News, Comrie recently filed his divorce response in a Los Angeles Superior Court, and he is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their preschooler.

This raises the question if a possible custody battle brewing, since Duff’s initial file asked for primary custody of their son, with visitation rights for Comrie.

As well, Comrie, 34, asked that their assets and property be divided based on the terms of their prenuptial agreement.

After five years of marriage, the couple announced their separation in January 2014, and the Younger actress, 27, filed for divorce in February 2015.

“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” Duff’s rep said in a separation statement, calling the split amicable. “They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”

Duff has since dished on their break-up.

“I don’t want to sound bitter because I’m definitely not, but I don’t know if people are meant to be together forever,” she recently said.

She added: “Things happen over a long relationship that you can’t always fight. A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel really great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness.”

There’s a cottage industry of Letizia conspiracy theories and attempted takedowns. Why bring all of this up? Because these photos have caused a new flurry of rumors in Spain and abroad. Rumors about Queen Letizia’s health and whether she’s too thin.

Queen Letizia of Spain has long been plagued by rumours of anorexia, and her appearance at an awards ceremony in Madrid yesterday did nothing to dispel them. Friends say the former TV journalist is naturally thin and point out that she has spoken publicly about her eating habits in the past, saying she maintains her figure with a healthy diet and is very concerned about nutrition. The 42-year-old wife of King Felipe and mother of two was born to a middle-class family. The Spanish media have likened her to Princes Diana, saying she suffers from ‘control issues’ and feels uncomfortable in the royal role.

Is this body-shaming? Or legitimate concern? I think it can be both. Letizia looks noticeably thinner since becoming queen last year. But… people are acting like Letizia’s slender frame is the second coming of Giuliana Rancic. It’s not that. Letizia’s figure reminds me a bit of Kelly Ripa’s – like, I’ll buy that Letizia works out too much more than she’s not eating.

Also notable about these photos? Letizia debuted her sleek new bob this week. I don’t like it, and I think it’s contributing to how we’re seeing her weight. The bob makes her look older, more pinched. The makeup isn’t helping either.
