Tom Cruise and his 20-year-old son, Connor, made a big splash this weekend at the NCAA Women’s Final Four college semifinal in Tampa last weekend. Or as I like to call it, “Oh look, Tom’s surreptitiously shopping for a new girlfriend.” Yes, that’s a mean remark, but Tom (51) just okayed a 31-year-old actress to play his wife. This is the same movie where he’ll play 300-pound, drug-running pilot Barry Seal. Sarah Wright Olsen will play the wife, and I hope she’s ready for Tom’s tomfoolery. My point is that Tom marries younger on and offscreen.
This game was the first occasion that Tom’s been stateside since his last film premiere. He filmed Mission: Impossible 5 in London for what seems like years. He’s also selling off property like mad because he’s never here. And we never see him with Suri. Part of the reason for that is because Tom grew really angry when people noticed how he didn’t see Suri for months at a time. That was his fault! He was the douchebag who invited the press to witness his daddy-daughter time. Tom shut down the pap walks and flashy Disneyworld visits so no one would notice how little time he spent with Suri. He also sued tabloids to reinforce his point.
The last documented visit between Tom and Suri was when she visited him in London in November 2012, but Tom spent most of that weekend filming Edge of Tomorrow. Then radio silence. I assumed he saw Suri on occasion, but sources tells TMZ that it’s been a year:
Tom Cruise said he wasn’t able to see his daughter for months because he was shooting Mission Impossible 5 in London, and he was counting the hours before he came home to little Suri. But we’re told he was off work for 2 weeks after shooting wrapped, yet never saw her.
Sources connected to Katie Holmes tell TMZ … it’s worse than that. They say Tom has not seen the 8-year-old in almost a year. Tom’s rep previously denied that and said the actor has seen his daughter plenty, but on the down low to shield her from cameras.
But our Katie sources say that’s not true … that he’s just not been a part of her life.
There’s been speculation Tom is distancing himself from Katie and Suri because they’ve been declared SPs in Scientology, but we’ve checked with the Church and we’re told that is simply not true.
Tom is now back to business … he just began a 90 day shoot in Atlanta.
He did take time Sunday to take his son Connor to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in Tampa.
[From TMZ]
Well I feel awful for Suri. Part of me thinks it’s best that she’s not around all of Tom’s crazy, but this is still a very sad situation. She must miss her daddy, who would rather attend Scientology functions than act like a father. Tom’s priorities will always involve his own ego. He’ll hang from a plane like an idiot in order to continue his ridiculous action film legacy. I hope he regrets his behavior someday.

Did last week’s Daily Show replacement-host-announcement seem weird to anyone else? In retrospect, I kind of wonder if the whole thing was mishandled. We didn’t even get a leaked shortlist of contenders to replace Jon Stewart. Out of nowhere, Trevor Noah was anointed as the new host. Initially, the reaction was positive. Although most Americans weren’t familiar with Noah, we wished him well. Then some sites did cursory examinations into Trevor’s social media history and there were many tweets that seemed… bad. Sexist. Misogynistic. Anti-Semitic. Maybe even racist.
The whole thing was made worse by the simple fact that The Daily Show was on a break last week, so Jon Stewart couldn’t personally vouch for Trevor Noah on-air. Instead, Comedy Central issued a flurry of “give the new guy a break” statements and Noah even had to tweet an explanation: “To reduce my views to a handful of jokes that didn’t land is not a true reflection of my character, nor my evolution as a comedian.” Are you buying that? Eh. I will give comedians a break to try to work out their material, but the vein of casual misogyny running through Noah’s Twitter feed gave me pause, and I feel like he is doing a disservice to simply dismiss that as a “joke that didn’t land.”
Anyway, The Daily Show came back last night and Jon Stewart finally vouched for Noah on air. Here’s the video:
Jon says Noah “will earn your trust and respect … Or not. Just as I earned your trust and respect … Or did not. Or sometimes earned it and then lost it and then kind of got it back and then it was like, ‘F— that guy!’” Jon says his experiences with Noah have shown him that Noah is “an incredibly thoughtful and considerate and funny and smart individual, and I think if you give him that time it’s going to be well worth it.”
So, controversy over? Ugh. I feel sorry for Comedy Central a little bit, losing Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart within a year and trying to reboot their late night line-up with new faces. But I suspect that this will not be the end of it. And I’d also like to hear why Comedy Central felt like there were no female comedians capable of taking over for either late-night slot.

Jon Cryer is among the many celebrities promoting memoirs this season. His book is called So That Happened and we previously covered an extensive excerpt in which he told his side of Charlie Sheen’s spectacular meltdown and revealed that he (Cryer) once hired a prostitute at Sheen’s recommendation.
During Cryer’s promotional tour he debuted a new look, with a shaved head and facial hair. It really suits him. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight (video is here), Cryer revealed that he dated Demi Moore in the 80s (they starred in 1984?s No Small Affair) and so he found it strange to meet Ashton Kutcher for the first time, on the Two and a Half Men set. Cryer kept expecting Kutcher to bring up their mutual ex, but it doesn’t sound like he ever did.
On Charlie Sheen’s meltdown
I don’t recall in the history of television that a star went so spectacularly off the rails.
In the first few years of the show Charlie was sober and he was married to Denise Richards. He was an incredible coworker. That was what made the meltdown all the more scary.
When he realized that Charlie was unmanageable
For me the big indicator was [when he got] arrested in Colorado [in 2009]. When that happened, I knew he was no longer sober.
On if he felt that he could help Charlie
Because Charlie and I didn’t really bond over drugs… that part of his life he didn’t really let me into. So I tried, but Charlie made the choice that that [sobriety] was not the life he wanted anymore.
Why it was awkward to meet Ashton Kutcher
It was awkward because I didn’t know if [Demi had] even told him that we’d dated. So at our first meeting, we’re trying to have that ‘hey let’s create some chemistry’ meeting, when all the time I’m looking at him… waiting for him to drop the bomb.
The first season of Two and a Half Men I got a divorce. The second season Charlie got a divorce. So I thought that after a season of Two and a Half Men that it was probably appropriate that Ashton got a divorce.
On having to tell his son he had hired a prostitute in the past
I found myself picking my son up at school and having to give him a heads up that, ‘Oh, you might read something on the Internet today that’s a little curious.’ So I told him the facts of it, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m not surprised.’ I was like, ‘Wow, okay!’
[From ET Online]
I didn’t realize that guys found it awkward to have dated the same woman. I thought that they usually bro-bonded over that sort of thing, but I guess everyone is different.
Cryer’s son, Charlie, (from his first marriage to British actress Sarah Trigger) will turn 15 in June so I guess he’s old enough to hear that his dad once hired a prostitute. I hope Cryer explains to him that it was a mistake and that he doesn’t endorse it at all though.
Cryer also said that he used to be mistaken for a gay guy and that he changed the way he sits so that he looks more masculine. He’s talked about this in the past. Last year he said that everyone assumed he was gay when he was a teenager, and not just because he played Duckie in Pretty in Pink. He claimed to strongly identify with Duckie and called himself an “effeminate heterosexual dork.” I’ve known guys like that.
Not everyone knows that Cryer rose to fame in the classic John Hughes film. In an appearance on The Jimmy Fallon show yesterday, Cryer played charades with Michael Douglas. Douglas failed to guess “Pretty in Pink.” That’s at about 4:00 into this video. It’s clear that Douglas had no clue. Spoiler – the other team, with Kat Dennings and Fallon, won.

Jessica Simpson updated Instagram a few hours ago with this shot of her being groped by her baby father Eric Johnson. She’s wearing a headband with bunny ears. So that’s how she spent Easter.
And this is what happened on April Fool’s Day:
Single mom Malin Akerman shared a sweet snapshot via Instagram Sunday.
“Spent Easter with my most special person. He was more interested in mommy than chocolates…gonna enjoy these moments while they last! Hope you all had a beautiful day. #easter #love,” the Rock of Ages actress, 36, captioned the photo with son Sebastian, nearly 2.
After ten years of marriage, the Trophy Wife star and Roberto Zincone separated just four months after welcoming Sebastian.
And recently, A-list pal Tom Arnold praised his Sin City Saints co-star, saying that she is “the most inspiring woman” for how she is dealing with the split.
“She’s a single mom. Her deal — and I probably shouldn’t talk about her — but…I have so much respect for her. She is such an amazing woman,” Arnold shared.
Arnold went on to talk about how Akerman continues to support her ex.
“You know, her husband, they’re together 10 years, they have a baby, [and] four months in, he’s like, ‘I’m done,’” he continued. “So she not only pays him alimony to take care of this guy, but I watched her as a mother, and I was like, ‘This is the most inspiring woman. I’m not gonna complain about anything in my life.’ Because she is incredible. She is an inspiration.”
Soon after Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin consciously uncoupled one year ago, the rumor mill started working overtime. There were always rumors about affairs for both Chris and Gwyneth, but everything got amplified post-uncoupling. To her credit, Gwyneth kept her infidelity game a bit tighter than Chris, although lots of people knew that Gwyneth was dealing with a married man named Brad Falchuk, a producer on Glee. Brad and Gwyneth met during her guest appearances on Glee and what was likely a casual affair turned into something more once Chris and Gwyneth uncoupled. At some point, Brad’s wife (and mother of his two children) filed for divorce. And soon Brad and Gwyneth were “together” officially, although they would never be so gauche as to actually walk a red carpet together or hold hands as they walk down the street. Still, Brad has slowly but surely entered Goop’s elite world. And this weekend, Brad got to be Gwyneth’s plus-one at Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday party.
Gwyneth Paltrow is off the market again. While her ex Chris Martin, 38, enjoyed a romantic weekend with actress Jennifer Lawrence, 24, Paltrow went public with her beau – television producer Brad Falchuk. The Mortdecai actress, 42, made an appearance with the Glee producer, 44, at actor Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday bash Saturday at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
The couple showed up to the star-studded soirée together, where they joined celebs including Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux and Jason Bateman. Falchuk attempted to hop out of the car quickly to open Gwyneth’s car door upon their arrival, but he didn’t quite make it, according to a source.
“They laughed about it and seemed very happy to together,” the source tells PEOPLE. Following their party outing, the duo grabbed dinner Sunday evening in Santa Monica at Chinois On Main. The hostess greeted Paltrow with a big hug, an onlooker shared.
Paltrow has been linked to the American Horror Story co-creator for more than a year, but has flown under the radar with their relationship. They attended a pre-Oscars party together back in February, according to a fellow party goer.
[From People]
On one side, I respect Gwyneth for keeping her game tight and her public profile “clean.” I would assume that the casual Goop-follower – not the gossip-hounds on this blog! – probably wouldn’t even realize that Gwyneth and Brad’s relationship likely started when they were both married to other people. And Gwyneth will never, ever get tagged with the “homewrecker” label. Pish-posh! That kind of label only happens to people like Angelina Jolie.
Before the clock strikes, one last happy birthday to a true great, Robert Downey Jr. Friend, brother, inspiration. ????????????

The rumors are true! Sam Worthington and Lara Bingle have named their firstborn child Rocket Zot.
In a series of heated Tweets aimed at reports poking fun at the unique moniker, Bingle confirms the news.
The Australian model, 27, and the Avatar star, 38, welcomed their son late last month. The couple remained mum on their baby’s name — until now.
“This quote taken from a balderdash article in The Daily Telegraph Australia, April 4, 2015 – is very embarrassing. My sons middle name IS a respectful nod to my late father, whose nickname was affectionately, Zot,” Bingle Tweeted Friday. “I wish Australian journalism, and in particular The DailyTelegraph, would rethink employing people who have some respect, and integrity, who either fact check or not comment – rather than just print the juvenile, spurious ramblings of some pseudo journalist called Annette Sharp.”
The new mom’s angry remarks are in response to an article published in The Daily Telegraph titled, “Lara Bingle doesn’t care a zot for baby name traditions.”
“This little boy of yours, this little Rocket Zot, he’s your legacy,” a portion of the article reads. “This is your chance to leave a lasting tribute to your father, because one day, too soon, you and that pretty skin of yours will be gone. That middle name … don’t you want to reconsider?”
Bingle and Worthington first began dating in September 2013, and were reportedly wed on New Year’s Eve 2013.

Ah, it’s that time again. Famewhoring Bikini Season: LeAnn Rimes Edition. As some of you pointed out, it seems like Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes have custody of Eddie’s sons during their Spring Break, so of course LeAnn has been Instagramming photos the whole time – go here to see her IG. She’s posted bikini photos, photos of Eddie shirtless, and photos of Eddie’s sons. That’s the trifecta right there. This might have been what Brandi Glanville was talking about when she said she was worried that “something crazy” was about to happen.
You know what’s really funny about LeAnn’s Instagram this week? She’s been using the hashtag #trustthebum, which apparently is a reference to Sun Bum sunscreen. So she’s probably getting paid for that endorsement, which is funny on its own (I mean, she’s gotta bring in money somehow). But…she’s using the hashtag exclusively on photos with Eddie and it’s like she’s calling him a “bum” instead. Which, let’s be fair, HE IS A BUM. And an untrustworthy one at that. It’s like LeAnn’s subconscious is leaking onto her hashtag stupidity/shilling.
I can’t believe she posts so many photos of her stepsons. She’s just trying to poke the bear. Girl, STAHP!

Proud nursing mama Doutzen Kroes shared a glimpse into her everyday life via Instagram Sunday.
“Daily routine! I’m promoting breastfeeding, it’s the best for your baby when possible!,” the model mom, 30, captioned the candid photo.
The Victoria’s Secret model and husband, celeb DJ Sunnery James, welcomed their second child, daughter Myllena, in July. They are also parents to 4-year-old son Phyllon.
The family-of-four were photographed in the March issue of Vogue Netherlands.
In a precious photo, the group was seen snuggled up in bed, with Kroes breastfeeding her baby girl while father and son rub noses.
